Security option is SOAP Webservices Scenarios

Hi ALL,
my requirment is i need to send data from a webservice as sender and to a file in the receiver side.
what are the various security options availible between SOAP sender and XI...?
if possible send me some blog shows the step by step procedure to achive this ..in PI 7.1
if possible pls explain the below options ..
The following HTTP security levels
HTTP without SSL
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) without client authentication
HTTP with SSL (= HTTPS) with client authentication

Since the config is for PI7.1....the implementation will change a bit as now for JAVA part the config needs to be done in the NWA (as against the VA for PI7.0)....so check these:

The config for ABAP (2 link) seems to be pretty much the same as in PI7.0....just the JAVA part will be handled separately (3 link)

Hello Experts,
What are the pros and cons of using SOAP Look up in Message Mapping for webService call.
Previously my scenario was a standard SOAP Adapter Scenario. But it had BPM, so I have designed it via SOAP look up in Message Map to avoid BPM.
I want to know what are the merits and demerits (In terms of Performance - Payload size:Runtime, Maintanence, Configurability,etc) of using SOAP Look up instead of standard SOAP Scenario.

SOAP Look-ups are very much possible and performance wise also its preferrable as compare to BPM.
Its pretty much simple and easy way to handle it with UDFs.
The performance could also depend upon what kind of things you need to achive or replacing with BPM.
If you will be dealing with too many resources in BPM then that creates the performance overloaded issues.
UDFs also have the performance problems nased on the payload size but very minimal.

Installing Secure Certificates in SOAP Scenarios using Business Service

Hi All,
We are working on SOAP synchronous scenarios and we are creating Business service for the same. IF We need to communicate through HTTPs protocol then will it be possible to install the SSL certificates as we are using Business Service ?
It was said intalling certificates will only be possible when we use Business System but not Business Service.

The technical connection does not care about business system or business component. This limitation does not exist.

HTTP- XI- SOAP(webservice) - error in outbound mapping

Scenario is HTTP(request)->XI->SOAP(webservice) ->XI->HTTP(response)
2 messsage mappings for request and response (syncronous)
1 interface mapping
HTTP payload reaches XI from there it appears problem translating request data to webservice external URL "http://webservices.imacination.com/distance/Distance.jws".
Message mappings when tested with sample xml in intergration repository results in success. Meaning source populated data gets copied to target in IR testing (both for request and response).

R3 (RFC Asynch) -- XI --- SOAP (webservice Synch)

Hi Experts,
 My scenario is :R3 (RFC Asynch) > XI <-> SOAP(webservice is synch)
Step1:- R3 sends the data webservie(SOAP) via XI.
Step2:- Webservice returns the response to XI, But R3(RFC) does not need the resoponse.
how to handle the webservice response in XI.
do i need to use BPM as this scenario is R3(RFC synch) > XI <--> Webservice(soap, synch). Can anybody help me out how to design this scenario.

So then all u need is to create a async inbound MI. Also the WS should be configured in a way that it sends a HTTP 200 with a SOAP envelope with an empty content for successful delivery.

Receiver Asynchronous Calls
Q: What are the correct receiver options for asynchronous calls?
 A: The processing mode of the receiver is determined by the message that reaches the receiver. If you are sending a message with some quality of service, to provide this service of quality to the server, your must make sure two things. First, your receiver channel must be configured to pass the XI message ID to the server. Second, your web service must check duplicates using this message ID.
Q: What should my web service return to the adapter for asynchronous calls?
 A: Currently, the receiver adapter expects an HTTP 200 with a SOAP envelope with an empty content for successful delivery. Any other response will result in a XI system error and triggers retries of the message. When you want to check duplicates, you should configure your receiver channel to pass the XI message header information to the server.
 Prior to SP11, a SOAP fault resulted in the application or system error, depending on whether the SOAP fault contained a detail child element or not. This behavior contradicted the communication model. Therefore, it has been changed so that the adapter generates the system error for any SOAP fault in asynchronous calls.
 When you want to check duplicates in your web service, you should configure your receiver channel to pass the XI message header information to the server. When your web service indeed find a duplicate, assuming that the previous message was simply lost, your web service should return an HTTP 200 with an empty SOAP envelope.

We are getting a request from Sender which should come via Reverse Proxy server to PI.

Hi Babu,
I am sorry if I was not clear in explaning.
Okay. I meant with the DC parameters the dynamic configuration parameters (or officially called the adapter specific message attributes or ASMA) that the file adapter added in the XI message. I assume Sushama activated this feature to transport the file adapter specific information (e.g., the file name, etc). These parameters are included in the DynamicConfiguration SOAP header. Sushama should check those entries in RWB at the adapter engine.
Some of those parameter values appeared to be too long and resulted in the quoted error:
>sap:DynamicConfiguration(3)sap:Record(1) (or one of the attributes) has incorrect value
Once which parameters are too long, Sushama can decide on how to resolve this issue using one of the options that I suggested in my previous reply.

IDOC to SOAP synchronous scenario

Here I have also replicated same kind of scenario and having same kind of issue.
One thing just wanted to confirm - Even though SOAP adapter expects HTTP 200 response back from webservice, still SOAP channel is getting into red with following , and as we have Alert configured ...Alert mail also receiving as part of Error only. So How can we avoid that response ? Is there have any parameter to handle or suppress the response back?

the adapet for sender soap created in business service for reciever side is not dispalyed in adapter monitoing in component monitor of rwb.

Import the RFC meta data to PI
Import the WSDL to PI
Create MI for RFC -outbound Sync (if response is involved else Async)
Create MI for WSDL service you want type Inbound Sync (If response involved)
Create MM(external definition and RFC), IM for these
Create Sender RFC adapters with SA
Create Receiver SOAP and do necessary pipline steps

What IDE are you using?, for example with Eclipse i used WSDL2JAVA plugin in this way i converted the WSDL in java classes easily. Depending your development environment you can use different tools that makes easier the integration using the WSDL.

Connection closed by remote host on SOAP Receiver Scenario

Hi Experts,
I implemented a RFC to SOAP Receiver scenario, consuming an external
Web Service with SSL security, using SAP PI 7.1. I configured the SOAP
Receiver Adapter with Proxy e Proxy User, and it shows the
message u201CConnection closed by remote hostu201D. I have checked with
Network team, about the firewall restrictions, and they told me it was
pass by firewall. I installed the SOAP UI on the PI DEV Server to test
the SOAP Requets and it worked. Only on the PI it shows this error
message. I traced log at SLL service in the Sap Netweaver Administrator
and I didnu2019t get success.
Long text error:
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException:
java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote
Please, could you help me about this error?

Hi Fabio,
You need to set higher trace level in order to get more information in your trace file.
If you think it is related to security then set logging level of components com.sap.aii.security.lib and com.sap.aii.af.security to DEBUG in Visual Admin's log configurator. Also set com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap and com.sap.aii.messaging to DEBUG level.
And then try sending messages and see whether you have received more informaiton in trace file, but don't forget to revert back the change once you finish testing otherwise it will filled up your diskspace.

DV7-2022TX shows 'failure security options' on black screen

My computer starts up and looks like its working but when i go to start using it it's frozen. So I press ctrl+alt+del and then it brings up the message "failure security options" on a black screen and all i can do is a forced shut down. It doesn't do it all the time, but often enough. It also tries to do a system restore itself but that never fixes it.
I hope someone can help me, i'm definitely not a computer expert so it would be greatly appreciated!!

A hard drive if it has failed will sometimes allow you to boot into windows but may not work completely (Eg: In a scenario, where system partition ;where windows is installed works fine but logical partition of hard drive has gone bad).
On certain conditions, if the hard drive is on verge of failure may/may not respond completely. I would suggest you to run a diagnostics using Seagate Seatools which works on any hard drive irrespective of manufacturer to actually confirm if your hard drive has failed.
Also, any hard drive can fail in spite of it been 1yr old or 1day old as its all manufactured in bulk and most of it comes from China

Testing between XI - SOAP(WebService)

I am doing scenario R3 (Rfc) - > XI - >SOAP(Webservice). Now R3 system is not available, i want to test the data flow between the XI and SOAP(WebService).
I have tested Webservice with XML Spy , witch is working fine.
Now i want to test Between XI and SOAP(Webservice). Can any one help me is there any way to test between these two systems for time being.

I hope you might have already executed this Scenerio when R3 is Up..Right ..If so... Use that Pay load and paste in in Component monotoring..use test tab and send the message after pointing the right interface and it's namespace.
