Seeburger message mapping

Guys,
    I  have to map A_850_V4010 to IDOC ORDERS05. I was trying to leverage the the message mapping Seeburger delivers as part of
the B2BContent-A_850_V4010_to_I_ORDERS_05
This is what I did ,
a) I have imported the ORDERS05  idoc definition fromECC system into my name space.
b) I also imported the 850_v4010 from Seeburger Message catalogue  by importing XML_850_V4010.xsd.
Now, when I try to copy the A_850_V4010_to_I_ORDERS_05 that into my namepsace, the XI  asks whether I want to import the Source Message LIST from http://seeburger.com/b2b  as well as ORDERS05  from http://seeburger.com/b2b .
My questions are
1)How is the external defintion done ? Is it like step a) and b) described above?  or, does Seeburger provide the XSD for ORDERS05 idoc?
2)  how do I make sure that  ORDERS05 that I got from my  ECC system is  the same structure as that of ORDERS05 in
Seeburger?   besides going through individual fields . Ideally, I would like to use the ORDERS05 I imported in step a) as the traget message.  With  message maaping copy it seems step a) and b) is  not  relevant.
3) I  also need to map SHPMNT05 idoc to A_856_V4010. Since Seeburger doesn't have it in the mapping list ( the  one they have is DELVRY03_To_A_856_V4010) , the mapping will be the same as the DELVRY03_To_A_856_V4010  EXCEPT that I need to get
TKNUM  from the SHPMNT05 header. I am wondering whether Manually creating the mapping is the only way, or  is there anyway I can leverage the DELVRY03_To_A_856_V4010 mapping? Has anyone had the experience where they had to change the source Idoc but, still been able to leverage the existing mapping . I just need to change the mapping from E1EDL20 - VBELNin Delvry03  to E1EDT20-TKNUM in SHPMNT05 idoc - this will be mapped to  D_396 in S_BSN segment.
Thanks !!

Hey
>>1)How is the external defintion done ? Is it like step a) and b) described above? or, does Seeburger provide the XSD for ORDERS05 idoc?
Seeburger provides XSD's for all the major EDI structures,but somehow when i was trying to import the XSD'd and Message mapping into my own SWCV,i was getting the same issue as you have so i ended up copying them manually.it works fine after that.
>>I am wondering whether Manually creating the mapping is the only way, or is there anyway
DELVRY03 IDOC is different from SHPMT05 IDOC,even i had to use SHPMNT05 IDOC message mapping and since it didn't come with seeburger,i designed my own message mapping manually.
>>experience where they had to change the source Idoc but, still been able to leverage the existing mapping
I tried this,it doesn't works properly,gives you issues at the time of activating the mapping.
My advice would be to go ahead and do all the steps manually,i had put in lots of effort and time but ended up doing major parts of mappings manually,the mapping you get from SeeBurger is just the base/generic mapping and is a lot different from the actual mapping required for Business partners.
Thanx

  • Issue with IDOC occurence and SeeBurger message mapping

    Hey Guys
    While developing a EDI 850 to IDOC scenario i came across this issue with pre-delivered Seeburger mapping(A_850_V4010_to_I_ORDERS05).
    I actually need to post multiple IDOC's to SAP system in the same message so i changed the IDOC occurence to unbounded and re-imported that as a .XSD file in Integration repository.
    Earlier the pre-delivered message mappings provided by SeeBurger(under SEEBURGER_HIGH-TECH, 1.7.1 of seeburger) was working fine for me since i was posting only 1 IDOC but now the mapping is failing as the IDOC occurence has changed(unbounded).
    Is there a way we can do some settings on SeeBurger server or Bic so that we can use the pre-delivered mapping for Multiple IDOC's as well?
    I just want to make sure before i start off with doing whole of the mapping manually.
    Thanx
    Aamir

    Thanx for the input guys
    @Deepthi.
    Doing whole of mapping manualy is definitely the last option but i m looking for ways to re-use the pre-delivered SeeBurger mapping.
    >>Seeburger Mapping is only just to convert XML to EDI and EDI to XML.
    Bic mapping designer does this,i m dealing with message mapping of XI(convert source to target) not Bic designer right now,and Bic does more than just XML to EDI and vice versa,it handles other industry standards too.
    @Jens
    >>The XI message mappings from Seeburger in the Industry solutions are mapping templates
    Yeah,but the mapping template i have deals with 850 to ORDERS05,when i change IDOC occurence and re-import it back in Integration repository,it doesn't stays as ORDERS05,it has to be changed to user defined message interface(in my case MI_ORDERS05) so i m unable to use 850 to ORDERS05 template.
    @Seshagiri
    >>Open the Seeburger SWCV From the IR--goto External Def---Select the right one and copy it and paste it in notepad.
    Changing the occurence is not an issue,i want to re-use the pre-delivered mapping in Integration repository,which is not working.
    Looks like i need to do it manually
    Thanx

  • How to populate the Sender and Receiver GLN/ID  in the Seeburger Message Tracking

    HI Team,
    Scenario :
    ECC--> PI--> Party
    Sending GS1 XML Message to party (Not EDI).  Sender Party and Receiver Party appearing as expected.
    BUT User expecting to see the Sender GLN and Receiver GLN in Seeburger Message Tracking.
    It should be dynamically picked form GS1 Message. Should Appear in RED BOXES Shown below.What Module Parameters Should be used for this.
    I have Tried destTargetMsg  and destSourceMsg. But did'nt work.
    can anyone please Help

    Hi Veman
    You are correct. For XML to XML, you do not need BIC module.
    However, since you are not using BIC module, you will not be able to enrich the metadata using the archiveXI parameter during processing at the adapter framework.
    Another place to enrich the metadata would be during message mapping. You can call a custom UDF to populate the metadata and create an entry in Seeburger Message Tracking.
    Please refer to the Seeburger manual for Message Tracking Function for more details on how to create the UDF.

  • Seeburger Message Tracking

    Hi,
    Can anyone please tell us how to use seeburger message tracking.
    I understand that there are 3 steps to be done.
    1.  Mapping in IR should have a UDF which referrers to the standard Seeburger function jar files.
    2.  Module configuration in the channel with FileStore module.
    3.  Configuration in Message Tracking.
    But need some  details about each step.
    Could anyone please provide a document which explains this configuration.
    Thanks in advance
    Jagruthi

    Hi,
    before these steps  you need to have MT installer file based on your database and some settings needs to be done at database level.
    if you have seeburger manuals there is one pdf 'SAPXI_Archiving_en.pdf' which talks about MT.

  • Caching values between different executions of a message mapping

    Hi all
    Like global container object is used for caching values between different user defined functions
    within the same message mapping.
    Can v have some sort of cachingvalues
    between simultaneos exceutions of same message mapping?
    Thanks and Regards
    Bhasker

    Hi Bhasker raj,
        This facility is there if you are using seeburger adapters.
    YOu can use something called seeburger variables which can hold the data beyong the mapping in some permanent memory.
    Alternatively, you can think of creating a ZTABLE in the ABAP stack of XI and storing the data you want in it, using a UDF and get it back in another UDF.
    YOu can use the first UDF at last node/field in the message mapping and the
    secomd UDF in the first node/field in the mapping.

  • Can SeeBurger BIC Mapping tool automatically remove Delimiters?

    Hi all,
    When we map IDOC's to EDI X12 messages using the SeeBurger BIC Mapping tool, we sometimes have delimiters occur in fields such as name or address. We are using the setDestinationDelimiter and have changed our delimiters so this occurance is rare. However the problem may still occur. This causes an invalid message to be passed to our partner.
    One option is to use XI mapping and the replace function on each field however this is cumbersome and not the ideal solution.
    Is there a way to automatically remove Delimiter characters from fields as part of the BIC Mapping.
    Cheers,
    John

    Hi Satish,
    Thanks for re-iterating the problem. You are absolutely right that this does cause an invalid message.
    Also thanks for your suggestion regarding asking business not to enter the data, this has been done and as stated the occurences of these delimiters in the fields will be low, usually due to user error.
    We still however want to cater for these occurrences and prevent an invalid message being sent to the partner.
    I'm not sure if you've ever used the BIC Mapping tool and what I'm really looking for is someone with experience in this area to give a solution that works. Anyone out there who can help?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    Even I faced a Similar problem...
    1) make sure that the size of the data that is coming to BIC map is not larger than the size defined in the Source field (Check In BIC and SAP XI/PI map.
    2) Make sure id any other seeburger mapping are working fine , This is because you have to deploy the file in form of Active mapping.sca in SAP XI/PI after the changes are made on BIC side.
    3) Check the Adapter Engine Cache ...
    Hope this helps..

  • Seeburger Message Tracking Update

    Hi All,
    I m working on one IDOC to Bank (820 document ) scenario. I am using the File adapter at receiver side and dumping a XML file.
    I am trying to Update the message tracking in the seeburger using a function in message mapping which basically uses a UDF which includes use of MTMasterXI.
    Any pointers on how to update the message trace in Seeburger Workbench will be appreciated.
    Regards..
    Sachin Dhingra

    What do you mean by "update the message trace"?
    You can see the message in Message Tracking tab of Workbench. But before that a bit more settings are required.
    - Mapping in IR like you did it by creating UDF. It should refer to the standard Seeburger function jar files.
    - Module configuration in the channel with FileStore module.
    - Configuration in Message Tracking.
    I hope the Message Tracking is already working for you when you click on Message Tracking tab.

  • Message mapping approach

    Hi Experts,
    I need to get your suggestions on mapping approaches in PI. We're doing EDI with PI7.1 with Seeburger Adapter.
    We are in design phase. We're making design decisions now and the question came up whether we should build one map per IDoc-Partner-X12 transaction or one map per X12 transaction-Idoc pair and build in logic to take care of partner specific requirements.
    Can you suggest what is best approach.
    Your help is appreciated
    Thanks,
    Kishore

    Hi,
    it is a broad question with no general answer.
    First, it is a question of "How Much"?. If you have dozens of Partners and a lot of special requirements, than you are better up with a dedicated mapping per situation.
    We also have done this with a two-step approach: One generic Maping for all, and a specific mapping per customer as a second additional step in message mapping, where every customer has its own name space.
    This requires a very good design, a good planning and pattern-oriented solution  and a very tight execution and overall architecture and quality control, to not get out of hand. There are some good books and blogs about enterprise patterns in EAI that will help here.
    There are a lot of possibilties, but , nothing that fits easily in a short forum answer.

    Sudeep,
    Let we try this way. I'm sure you might have some existing mapping objects in IR.
    Try to change that object(Description give some name) and activate again the object.
    Reply your results whether you are getting the same error.
    One sec before changing the object just test the mapping and change the object.
    Best regards,
    raj.

  • Error while opening Message Mapping

    Hi All,
    I have one MM in ESR, IDoc to EDI, it has been developed before, and the interface is working successfully.But when I open this MM in ESR, it given a STOP error with desc as 'For input string: ""'.
    and then there is nothing displayed on Screen under Definition,Test and Functions tab of MM.The Signature tab content is visible properly.
    I am working on PI 7.1.
    Is this issue is because of version comapatibilty or missing object. Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue,
    Thanks,
    Ruchi

    Hi All,
    I have checked with my basis team, but they suggested that the patches can not be installed as this problem is happening with single message mapping.
    When I open this MM, it gives the same STOP error :For input string: "". and when I click on Message Mapping -> Check button, it prompts a message 'Parameter #ParamName# has the invalid value null'.
    Please help me to resolve this.As the mapping itself is not getting loaded, so not getting how to set this parameter value(if it is used in MM).

  • PI 7.11: IDoc Message mapping

    Hi there,
    I'm currently working on a graphical message mapping using IDoc HRMD_A06 as source structure (HR master data transferred via PFAL).
    In my result structure I have to fill a field CostCenter with the following logic:
    If field KOSTL (cost center) is filled in node E1P0315, map this field to CostCenter in result structure, otherwise take KOSTL of node E1P0001.
    The end date (ENDDA) has to be '99991231' in each case.
    This is how the result structure looks like:
    <e>                       [1...1]
      <CostCenter>            [1...1]
    </e>
    This is the simplified source structure:
    <E1PLOGI SEGMENT="1">
      <E1PITYP SEGMENT="1">                        [0...n]
         <E1P0001 SEGMENT="1">                     [0...n]
           <INFTY>0001</INFTY>                     [0...1]
           <ENDDA>99991231</ENDDA>                 [0...1]
           <KOSTL>0000012345</KOSTL>               [0...1]
        </E1P0001>
      </E1PITYP>
      <E1PITYP SEGMENT="1">                        [0...n]
        <E1P0315 SEGMENT="1">                      [0...n]
          <INFTY>0315</INFTY>                      [0...1]
          <ENDDA>99991231</ENDDA>                  [0...1]
          <KOSTL>0000024001</KOSTL>                [0...1]
        </E1P0315>
      </E1PITYP>
    </E1PLOGI>
    How can I do the check if field KOSTL of node E1P0315 is null?
    I've tried an existence check for the whole node (E1P0315->exists), but then it fails, because all E1PITYP nodes are processed.
    I hope my problem is clear to you.
    Would it be better to use another mapping type?
    As I'm an ABAP developer, I would of course prefer some lines of code to this graphical drag&drop thing.
    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers, guys!
    I did it now like that:
    http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=mappingflknz.jpg
    Click on the image to enlarge it!
    The logic is as following (ABAP Pseudo-code ):
    IF 0315_KOSTL and 0315_ENDDA are populated.
      IF 0315_ENDDA equals '99991231'.
        map 0315_KOSTL to Cost_Center.
      ENDIF.
    ELSE.
      IF 0001_KOSTL and 0001_ENDDA are populated.
        IF 0001_ENDDA equals '99991231'.
          map 0001_KOSTL to Cost_Center.
        ENDIF.
      ENDIF.
    ENDIF.
    Is that a good way to do that mapping?
    Do I also have to use the removeContexts function or is it ok like that?
    Could I also do that with an ABAP mapping program?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi ,
    Think the error is coming because the content in imported archive is not being taken into message mapping at all...so package, class, method ..nothing is identified.
    Can anyone suggest the solution..

    I am running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no apparent effect. Is this a problem with iTunes or Outlook, how do I resolve it?

    That's part of my problem - I was getting the error message when I tried to click on iCloud in the Calendar portion of Outlook 2010. I don't know where it was generated (iCloud, iTunes, or as an add-in to Outlook).
    After my original post I tried restoring my computer to a date when I knew this worked, the restoration worked, and I can access my calendar. So that problem resolved itself.
    I do have another question, but I'll post it separately. Thanks for your response.
