Select a set of integer from another set

I have a set of integers from 1 to 7.
I want to select the integers which not exist in this set.
For example: the set contains (1,3,6,7)
The result should be (2.5)
how to do it in SQL

Hi,
First, construct a Counter Table with 7 rows, containing the values 1, 2, 3, ..., 7. (Don't be thrown off by the term "table"; it's usually not a real table, but rather a result set that acts like a table.)
See thie following thread for ways of creating a Counter Table:
Counter Table
Use the NOT IN operator to get all the rows from that counter table except the rows numbered 1, 3, 6 or 7.
If you get stuck, post your best attempt, as Alex suggested.

  • Set lookup value from another item

    Hi!
    I add to my list in SP 2013 new column like type Lookup field and select item from another document library
    and display field select "Title". How i can set this filed value for new item from document library item?

    Hi AllXander,
    From your description, my understanding is that you want to set lookup field value with C# CSOM.
    You could use method "FieldLookupValue()". Please refer to this code below to set lookup field value when add an new item to a list:
    // replace your site URL
    using (ClientContext context = new ClientContext("http://sp/sites/sp2013"))
    // replace your user, password and domain
    context.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("Administrator", "Access1", "contoso");
    // the library that you get value for the lookup field
    List list = context.Web.Lists.GetByTitle("Department");
    context.Load(list);
    context.ExecuteQuery();
    CamlQuery query = new CamlQuery();
    query.ViewXml = "<View/>";
    ListItemCollection allContacts = list.GetItems(query);
    context.Load(allContacts);
    context.ExecuteQuery();
    foreach (ListItem item in allContacts)
    // replace the id that you want to set value to the lookup filed
    if (item.Id == 1)
    // replace the list title with your list that you want to add the item
    List oList = context.Web.Lists.GetByTitle("Employee");
    ListItemCreationInformation itemCreateInfo = new ListItemCreationInformation();
    ListItem oListItem = oList.AddItem(itemCreateInfo);
    oListItem["Title"] = "My New Item!";
    // set the lookup field value
    FieldLookupValue lookup = new FieldLookupValue();
    lookup.LookupId = item.Id;
    oListItem["Department"] = lookup;
    oListItem.Update();
    context.ExecuteQuery();
    You could refer to this article about creating/updating/deleting a new item with C# CSOM:

  • My replies to emails sent to me at one address are set to respnd from another address!!

    Is there a way to remedy that.  When I get messages at my default address and hit reply my blackberry sends the reply from another address different from the receiving address!!!  Weird!!

    Tools menu (Alt_T) > Account settings > Return receipts for the "per account" settings and a link to the global setting. If however your using Microsoft Exchange or another corporate mail server you may have no choice in the matter. The server over rides local settings, and adjustment required the server admin to make changes.

  • SQL select a concatination of entries from another table

    I am trying to select a few columns from one table and then add another column that is a concatination or names from another table that referances it as below. Is this possible to do in one select statement?
    table x1
    ID NAME
    1 Bob
    1 Tom
    2 Bill
    table x2
    ID NAMES
    1 Bob, Tom
    2 Bill
    3

    You mean string aggregation?
    If yes, then it is possible like this, if you are on 10g.
    SQL> create table x1 (id,name)
      2  as
      3  select 1, 'Bob' from dual union all
      4  select 1, 'Tom' from dual union all
      5  select 2, 'Bill' from dual
      6  /

    SQL> select id
      2       , rtrim(n,', ') names
      3    from ( select id
      4                , n
      5                , rn
      6             from x1
      7            model
      8                  partition by (id)
      9                  dimension by (row_number() over (partition by id order by null) rn)
    10                  measures (cast(name as varchar2(20)) n)
    11                  rules
    12                  ( n[any] order by rn desc = n[cv()] || ', ' || n[cv()+1]
    13                  )
    14         )
    15   where rn = 1
    16  /
            ID NAMES
             1 Bob, Tom
             2 Bill
    2 rijen zijn geselecteerd.There are several other (slower) techniques possible as well. You can find them by using the search function on this forum.

  • Creating new String using only specific set of chars from another String

    I've performance troubles doing this task:
    I have a very long String A (up to 1 million character length)
    This String contains different characters.
    I need to create a String B containing only specific characthers (with a defined character code)
    An example:
    String A: [80]='P' [65]='A' [71]='G' [69]='E'For example I want to extract only character 65 and 71
    String B: [65]='A' [71]='G'I already did the code to do this, (it's quite simple) but I think I have some very big performance issues, and I suppose I can do this task much more quickly!!
    String out = "";
              for (counter = 0; counter < text.length(); counter++) {
                   char currentchar = text.charAt(counter);
                   int currentvalue = (new Integer(currentchar)).intValue();
                   switch (currentvalue) {
                   case 65:
                        char[] newstring = new char[1];
                        newstring[0] = currentchar;
                        out += new String(newstring);
                        break;
                   case 71: //
                        break;
                   // other cases
                   default:
                        // nothing to do...
              }Can you suggest me something to improve the performances?
    Thank you!

    If you've got a number of characters in your acceptance set I'd use indexOf, and I'd probably use StringCharacterIterator. Mind you, with a million characters I'd probably not load them all at once anyway, but process them as streams.
    StringBuffer out = new StringBuffer(s.length() / 5); // allocate plenty
    StringCharacterIterator it = new StringCharacterIterator(s);
    for(char c = it.first(); c != CharacterIterator.DONE; c = it.next())
      if("AG".indexOf(c) >= 0)
          out.append(c);
    return c.toString();

  • Trying to pass parameters from one set of frames to another set of frames.

    I have a JSP page with two frames.
    TestPage1.jsp has this code:
    <frameset rows="90,*">
    <frame name="topFrm1" src="TestPage1A.jsp">
    <frame name="botFrm1" src="TestPage1B.jsp">
    </frameset>
    In TestPage1B.jsp I have a form that submits parameters:
    <form name=test1Frm method=post action="TestPage2.jsp" target=_top>
    <input type=hidden name=param1 value=var1>
    <input type=hidden name=param2 value=var2>
    <input type=submit>
    </FORM>
    TestPage2.jsp is also a frameset almost identical to TestPage1.jsp:
    <frameset rows="90,*">
    <frame name="topFrm2" src="TestPage2A.jsp">
    <frame name="botFrm2" src="TestPage2B.jsp">
    </frameset>
    TestPage2B.jsp includes a servlet that needs to receive the parameter values:
    <jsp:include page="/servlet/MyClasses.TestPages" flush="true" />
    If I submit the form in TestPage1B.jsp directly to TestPage2B.jsp, the parameters are successfully passed to the servlet, but if I submit the form to the frameset page TestPage2.jsp, the parameters are not passed. I've tried a variety of variations with the Target, but nothing works.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. TIA.
    Cheers,
    Logan

    Logan,
    In your case I feel using Sessions is the best solution instead of passing params as the JSPs TestPage2.jsp & TestPage2B.jsp are two different pages. Store the values to be passed in session and retrieve the same in the servlet.

  • Problem in Retrive values from result set

    I have a class where i do all database operation .First i fire select query and take values from result set and based on that value i fire update query.
    Problem is that i am not getting all values from result set . i get only last value and when i fire update query i get error as :Resultset is closed.
    I am using acess and java.

    You probably are using the same Statement object for both queries? Try creating separate Statement objects for each query. (My guess is this a problem with the way you're using JDBC, not a Servlet issue.)

  • How to copy a set of tables from a database to another periodically?

    We have a 4 node RAC primary database(10.2.0.2) with a physical standby(10.2.0.2) on our production site. Offlate we noticed that one of the applications(APP2) is causing heavy loads due large data downloads on the primary database servers. Our primary database has 2 schemas,
    1) one being the main schema with all objects, (USER1)
    2) and the other has views that query some set of tables from the main schema. (USER2)
    The application APP2 uses USER2 views to query and download huge data periodically. We need to be able to give accurate data results to APP2, but in the same time take off the load from the database, as APP2 is not our main application.
    We would like to know if there are any cost effective options in oracle to do this, and if so, what is the best option? Anyone has any experience setting up something like this before?
    We have thought of creating another 10.2.0.2 database on a different server and giving it regular updates(like data feeds) from the current database. The current database data changes quiet often, so the data feeds would have to be done often to keep the data current on the new database. So, we are not exactly sure how to go about it. Would a COPY command help?
    Please advice.

    user623066 wrote:
    Our 4 node RAC is already busy with our main application, which has its connections spread across all 4 nodes.
    Our main applications services are the same on all nodes and use all 4 nodes in the same way.
    There are some other utilities that we run from one of the app servers that connect to only 1 of the nodes.
    APP2 uses all 4 servers, which is again controlled by connection pooling and distributes the load.Wouldn't separate services be more beneficial here? If APP2 is locked down to one node during normal operation, that ensures that other connections aren't going to be competing for hardware with APP2 on 3 of the 4 nodes. If APP2 is generating less than 25% of the total load, you can let the other applications use whatever hardware resources are left idle on the node APP2 is locked down to.
    By Large data downloads, I meant both increase in network traffic and the CPU load on the database nodes.
    We are already using resouce manager to limit the resources allocated to USER2 that APP2 uses.
    And we have also limited the large downloads to take place in the early hours of the day when the traffic from our main application is less.
    But this has still not been optimal for the usage requirements for APP2. APP2 is also doing queries all through the day, but has a limit for the number of rows downloaded during peak hours.Can you explain a bit more about why using Resource Manager hasn't been sufficient? That's normally a pretty good way to prevent one hungry user from drastically affecting everyone else. Perhaps you just need to tweak the configuration here.
    Logical Standby seems a good option. But we need to keep our physical standby in place. Is it possible to have a logical standby and a physical standby? (ofcourse on separate servers)Sure. You can have as many standby servers of whatever type you'd like.
    Could we use a COPY command to copy data for the set of tables to a new database? Or is that also a complex option?You could, yes. COPY is a SQL*Plus command that has been depricated for copying data between Oracle databases for quite a while. It only works from SQL*Plus and would only be designed for one-time operations (i.e. there is no incremental COPY command). I can just about guarantee that's not what you want here.
    How do materialized views work? Wouldn't they still reside on the main database? Or is it possible to have remote materialized views?You probably don't want materialized views, but if you decide to go down that path
    - You'd create materialized view logs on the base tables to track changes
    - You'd create materialized views on the destination database that select data over a database link back to the source database
    - You'd put those materialized views into one or more refresh groups that are scheduled to refresh periodically
    - During a refresh, assuming incremental refreshes, the materialized view logs would be read and applied to the materialized views on the destination system to update the materialized views.

  • HT3349 How do you select a sub-set of cells from the entire document so you can print only those specific cells?

    How do you select a sub-set of cells from the entire document so you can print only those specific cells?

    There is no analog to MS Excels print range.  So the next best thing is to plan your data so that you don't need to use print range.  The next best thing after that is to select the range of cells you want to print, then copy, the switch to the application Preview, and create a new document from the clipboard (select the menu item "File > New from Clibboard") then select all, copy then paste to the destination (maybe an email) .
    You can also paste that portion of the table into another table (or a new table) by pasting values only

    The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
    To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
    If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
    After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
    Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
    If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
    If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
    If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
    When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.
