Select all not working in TABLE menu

Hi all,
I am using normal table, displaying some values and selecting record i am copying to another table. If i select manually one record and i use CTRL to select multple records it is working.
Table has menu option select and deselect all, if i use select all it is showing as selected but while copying giving error null objects.
And anotherthing i observed here is if i select first record and i use select all menu option it is working??
I have to do any setting for this? any ideas?
Thanks,
Venkat.

I have used this functionality with out a problem. How do you copy ?
you mean to say that after select_all, node->get_selected_elements( ) return 0 elements ?

  • 'Select ALL' not working for WD ABAP ALV

    Hi all,
    I have a web dynpro application with a tab strip with 9 tabs. Each tab has an ALV embedded in it. Each ALV is mapped to the same  node in component controller. When the application is executed 'Select ALL' works for first ALV on the first tab. However if i select a different tab i get the select all option on the left hand corner but it does nothing when chosen.
    I also tried creating custom button on ALV toolbar for this functinality. Here i am looping over all elements of the node (bound to ALV) and using method  set_selected( abap_true ) ( method of if_wd_context_element ). This also works for first ALV on the
    first tab. However again get the same issue if i choose any other tab.
    Node cardinality : 0.... n
    Node selection :  0.....n
    ALV selection mode set to MULTI using method SET_SELECTION_MODE( CL_WD_TABLE=>E_SELECTION_MODE-MULTI ) of cofig class cl_salv_wd_config_table.
    All your inputs/suggestions to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Aditya,
    Thanks for your reply. I am using 9 comp. usage of SALV_WD_TABLE to display 9 alv and all are mapped to the same comp. controller context node. The context node has the master structure with all fields, based on the chosen tab i am populating this context node with records and setting config model for ALV accordingly.
    I tried your trick, clicked on select all on first ALV (all records chosen, works correctly here) then chose the second tab on tabstrip, however records in the new (second) ALV were not selected. When i clicked 'Select all' it did nothing, no records were chosen ( original issue ).
    Did you invalidate the common node when you navigate between tabs?In my case i am populating this node with new data every time i navigate between tabs.
    One new thing i noticed. On the first tab i am able to select individual rows by clicking on the row selection buttons on the left edge of every row. However when i go the second tab clicking on row selection button it does not get selected, only way to select a row in this case is by doing CLTR+click, something doesn't feel right about this application.
    I am going to create a new context node to check if sharing a common context node is causin this issue.

  • Selection color not working with table that has DefaultTableModel

    hi folks,
    I noticed if a table has a AbstractTableModel, when you select a row, by default the highlight color is light blue. However, if a table has a DefaultTableModel, even if you invoke table.setSelectionBackgroun(color) and table.setSelectionForefround(color), the highlight color stays invisible. is this a bug? what's the cause of this problem?

    The way I am getting around the problem is to uncheck the "Can select all" and then manually select all the values in the LOV in order to get the "All".

  • Layout adjustment not working with tables

    Hi all
    Why will layout adjustment not work with tables?
    I am trying to re-format from A4 landscape to A4 portrait.
    The text box containing the table will resize but not the table.
    Any clues why this might be, I don't want to manually resize every table in the document.
    Many thanks,
    Rob

    Thanks Jongware,
    Having resized the table and got the little red ovals, I tried various things like changing the font size etc but the best workaround I found was to select the table and change the cell inset value to 0, this got rid of all red ovals and I didn't need to change the font size.

  • Cascading Select Lists - Not Working for me

    I am trying to implement Denes Kubicek's Ajax Cascading Select List solution.
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:119
    But it is not working for me.
    I'm a newbie to APEX and checked the forum for advice on cascading select lists. I saw the thread for
    "Cascading Select Lists - Not Working" posted by sue and the replies by Varad Acharya, but I'm still
    having issues of not seeing the alerts, not able to run the pl/sql process in SQL Workshop, and not
    getting the expected results.
    I have a list of countries (US - USA, CA - CANADA, etc.) and a list of states for each country. When a
    user selects a country I would like to show the list of states within that country.
    This is what I've done so far:
    Defined an application process:
    Process Point: On Demand: Run ... by a page process.
    Name: CASCADING_SELECT_LIST1
    Process Text:
    BEGIN
    OWA_UTIL.mime_header ('text/xml', FALSE);

    HTP.prn ('<option value="' || c.r || '">' || c.d || '</option>');
    END LOOP;

    END;
    defined and application item:
    Name: CASCADING_SELECTLIST_ITEM_1

    Created a 'Form on a table with report' as follows:

  • SQL query problem:  how tp select all duplication in the table?

    Hi all,
    I have a table with the following columns:
    1. contact_id
    2. fname
    3. lname
    4. email
    The email column must be unique (unfortunately it's not); therefore, I have to delete all duplication in the system.
    Question: how can I select all duplication in the table?
    I tried this...didn't work (I'm expecting only the emails that are duplicated)
    THANK YOU!
    SELECT distinct TC1.email, TC1.contact_ID FROM ta_contacts AS TC1 where TC1.email <>'' AND TC1.email not in (   SELECT distinct TC2.email   FROM ta_contacts AS TC2   where TC2.email <>'' )

    Sounds like an SQL and not a JDBC question. In any case, if a column needs to be unique, then you should, of course, designate a unique constraint on the table so you never end up with duplicates in the first place.

  • Select all rows in af:table

    Hi,
    I need to select all rows in af:table, not only on current page.
    I have following code on custom select all action:
    getTable2().getSelectionState().addAll()and on button that needs to perform some action on selected rows I have this code
            Set selectedRowSet = getTable2().getSelectionState().getKeySet();
            if (!selectedRowSet.isEmpty()) {
                Iterator it = selectedRowSet.iterator();
                while(it.hasNext()) {
                    Key key = (Key)it.next();
           }selectedRowSet.iterator() method throws java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jbo.Key.
    When I select rows with af:tableSelectMany, which is inside selection facet and selects only rows on current page, this works fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    you can only access those data that is queried and part of the CollectionModel to the time you select all
       RichTable _table = employeesBackingBean.getEmployeeTable1();
       RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySetImpl();
      CollectionModel model = (CollectionModel)_table.getValue();
      int rowCount = model.getRowCount();
          for (int i = 0; i < rowCount; i++) {
               model.setRowIndex(i);
               //note that in the simple POJO case, the row key is the same
               //as the index. However, it would be wrong to just rely on this
               //because other models or custom table models my return a more
               //comples key. Therefore we iterate over the available rows to
               //obtain the keys.
               Object key = model.getRowKey();
               //add the row keys to the RowKeySet to mark selected
               rks.add(key);

  • Why DDL during SELECT is possible. Or why SELECT does not put a table lock?

    This is a question to people who really knows Oracle internals or/and RDB theory.
    (The question is relocated from another thread for not hijacking on that's original question.)
    Why DDL during SELECT is possible? Or why SELECT does not put TM 2 Row Shared lock on table(s)?
    This not locking causes a possibility while one session is running a long select, another can truncate and even drop table(s) that are being read by the first session.
    I think, humbly assume, that Oracle does not put TM 2 lock on tables, that are being simply SELECTed, by some significant technical reason. But I do not know this reason. If somebody knows please shed a light.
    Also, if you know that this behavior is totally correct from perspective of RDB theory, please explain me.
    I'll try to explain my point.
    It is a matter of data consistency and integrity that is supported in Oracle everywhere except this place.
    a) If one session is reading data from moment T and other session changes data on its way at moment T1, the first session wont read that changed data, it will read the data that was there on moment T.
    This is declared as Read Consistency principle.
    b) If one session is changing data, and another session tries to truncate or drop table - the second session will fail with error ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified.
    This is declared as Data Integrity principle.
    c) But why not to follow the above principles in case when one session reads data and another session tries to truncate or drop table (or do other DDL operations)?
    It is counter-intuitive. Why not to put TM 2 (SS) lock during SELECT execution that would prevent DDLs on this table?
    What I only can assume is that this is only because some technical difficulty or limitation.
    What is this limitation or other reason in favor of which Oracle sacrificed consistency in this case?

    user11181920 wrote:
    Aman,
    There was no need to clarify how DML lock works, I know that.
    Also I know that in Oracle a Select does not lock neither table rows nor table itself.
    The reason I mentioned it because you brought up the word change which is far better suited for DML's than DDL's as the former has a requirement to have its Undo preserved.
    Again, my question was why Select does not protect itself by locking table(s), partitions and indexes?Protect from what? There is nothing wrong with doing a select. What would happen with a select doing a lock on the table before being executed in its entirety (forget DDL and DML altogether for a moment) ? State one good reason that there should be a lock for the select. If it has to, it would be always isn't it?
    The keyword here is concurrency and that's what is the best when the number of locks obtained are lesser at non-required operations. A select doesn't change anything that's why in Oracle, there is no read-level lock.I am not saying about row locks while reading. They are not needed because Undo resolves concurrency.Only in the case of DML where the change is still active and the buffers are dirty. With a DDL, its an implicit commit.
    I am asking why Select does not enqueue one, only one lock per object that participates in the Select?Again, my question back to you is, what good you would get from it? What purpose it would solve?
    It is not very expensive, I suppose. But it would protect from DDLs that can destroy the Select's result set. You have seen in your system and in my demo(and that's what the the question was on the other thread also) that the result remains intact and its not a behavior from now. Its the same since the time I have started learning Oracle. Can you explain that why you think that the result of select statement would be wrong for a drop table? I believe, its been stated repeatedly that if the select has no requirement to look back the table, it would get completed. Only if the select needs to access the table again, it would fail. So even if we consider your explanation, there is no wrong result shown at all. Once the session encounters that the table is dropped for the statement, the execution stops right away. So where is the destroyed result?
    Yes, it is less dangerous when Select does not lock table comparing with what would happen with DMLs in such case (that is why DMLs protect themselves by TM 3), it affects only the Select and its consumer, but still ... I don't understand this Oracle's decision. What is a reasoning behind it?.As I said, to improve concurrency.

    Thanks Jonah. I was under the impression that I already had it but seems like it has to be a direct priv - thru a role doesn't work.
    I granted the reqd privs and then it worked fine. Thx for your help!

  • SELECT * CONNECTION not work

    Hi,
    It is found that SELECT * does not work with CONNECTION. For example, I use the following statement to retrieve data from another system and an error states that SQL error 207 when accessing table 'MARA'. 'Invalid column name  'ANIMAL_ORIGIN''. If columns are specified, data can then be retrieved. The SAP BASIS version is 7.31.
    SELECT SINGLE *
          INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF ls_mara
        FROM MARA
                   CLIENT SPECIFIED
                   CONNECTION ('G01')
    WHERE MANDT = '100'.

    Hi TS,
    You gave the answer already, but look at the HELP:
    To allow the Open SQL command to be run for the secondary database connection, the table definitions in the connection must be the same as those in the standard database.
    Cheers,
    Custodio
