    Hi Gayatri,
    You can try following code:
    DATA: l_itab1 LIKE itab1 OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
    Select first data for first select statement. Then select data for second select statement outside the ***** first select statement.
    SELECT *
        FROM dbtab1
        INTO TABLE itab1
        PACKAGE SIZE n
    ENDSELECT.
    IF NOT itab1[] IS INITIAL.
       SORT itab1 by field.
       l_itab1[] = itab1[].
       SELECT *
       FOR ALL ENTRIES IN l_itab1
       FROM dbtab2
       INTO itab2
      WHERE field = l_itab1-field.
    ENDIF.

  • Using a VARCHAR2 in a SELECT command

    I'm trying to query for a given path in a hierarchy of products. However, I want to be able to have it return multiple values. So, I created a string in my function below that returns identifiers like "(34, 43, 54)" to be used in a SELECT IN. The function works fine, but the select command fails. Your function is effectively returning a single string, which is not automatically devived into individual tokens for using in the IN clause.
    How to circumvent this is best described here:

  • Which case in LV Oper. Intf. will do "Run Selected Steps using single pass" for me?

    I added a button to simulate "Run Selected Steps", but I really want a button that will "Run Selected Steps Using Single Pass". Which case in the Complex Labview Operator Interface does this for me? What I really want is the report to be generated which happens when I use "Run Selected Steps Using Single Pass" but no report when I select "Run Selected Steps".
    Thanks!

    I figured out how to make this work.  Instead of calling the Sequence File View Manager ConnectCommand method using the Run Selected Steps button and the CommandKind_RunSelectedSteps command kind, you use the CommandKind_RunSelectedStepsUsingEntryPoints_Set command kind.  The tricky part is that before you can use the ConnectCommand method with the CommandKind_RunSelectedStepsUsingEntryPoints_Set command kind, you have to create a set of new commands.  Do this by first invoking the Application Manager method NewCommands.  This method returns an empty set of commands.  You must then add a new command to that set.  Do this by invoking the InsertKind method on the empty set of commands using CommandKind_RunEntryPointOnSelectedSteps for cmdKind, Sequence File View Manager for managerControl, -1 for insertBefore, and empty strings for currentMenuName and allMenuNames parameters.  Once you have made these calls, then you can call the Sequence File View Manager ConnectCommand method using the CommandKind_RunSelectedStepsUsingEntryPoints_Set command kind.
    The previous instructions work just the same for the Loop On Selected Steps button.  Just substitute the CommandKind_RunEntryPointOnSelectedSteps and CommandKind_RunSelectedStepsUsingEntryPoints_Set command kind constants with CommandKind_LoopEntryPointOnSelectedSteps and CommandKind_LoopOnSelectedStepsUsingEntryPoints_Set command kinds (and of course use the Loop On Selected Steps button reference instead of the Run on Selected Steps button reference when invoking the ConnectCommand method).
    There is one mystery with this solution that I haven't figured out yet, besides the fact that it is so laborious and non-intuitive to me (but at least it works).  Nowhere in any of the calls detailed above did I ever see a parameter to specify which execution entry point to use.  I am using the default sequential model entry points Test UUTs and Single Pass.  Typically you specify which entry point you want to use (such as when invoking the ConnectCommand method) in the form of an index to a set of entry points where the Test UUTs entry point corresponds to a set index of 0 and Single Pass corresponds to a set index of 1.  How did the previous calls determine which entry point to use when I didn't specify anywhere which one to use?  Do this just work because you can only run or loop on selected steps using no process model or the Single Pass entry point?

  • Cannot change SELECT command Datalist

    Hi ,
    I have a datalist with a selectedcommand , but i want to change it at runtime ( i have a dropdownlist and want to search based upon the values of dropdownlist) , I used this in button click event:
    if (DropDownList1.Text=="blabla")
                this.SqlDataSource1.SelectCommand = "SELECT prodID,[Prodname], [Price], [ProdCode], [Weights], [Size], [Photo] FROM [Products] where Cat='ct1' and Price<10000 ";
                this.SqlDataSource1.DataBind();
                DataList1.DataBind();
    but  nothing happens. I also tried http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/b1d4a3a5-7ba3-4383-a52a-fd472f1aad11/change-sqldatasource-select-command-at-runtime?forum=Offtopic
    but it doesn't work for me . any ideas ?

    Hi,
    Try the below code.
    if (DropDownList1.Text == "blabla")
    SqlDataSource SqlDataSource1 = new SqlDataSource();
    SqlDataSource1.SelectCommand = "SELECT prodID, [Prodname], [Price], [ProdCode], [Weights], [Size], [Photo] FROM [Products] where Cat='@cat' and Price < @price";
    SqlDataSource1.SelectParameters.Clear();
    SqlDataSource1.SelectParameters.Add("cat", TypeCode.Int32, "1");
    SqlDataSource1.SelectParameters.Add("price", TypeCode.Decimal, "1");
    //your connection string from web.config
    SqlDataSource1.ConnectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectString"].ConnectionString;
    DataList1.DataSource = SqlDataSource1;
    DataList1.DataBind();

  • How to use string variable onside quotes

    Hi,
    i would like to know how to use string variable onside quotes. what i mean is if i have a LOV variable P_STATUS as character string.
    and in my PL/SQL function i give a query as
    Q AS VARCHAR2(1000) := 'SELECT * FROM EMP
    WHERE STATUS = :P_STATUS';
    Is this correct. I Know that the above statement works when the LOV is an integer, but when i use a character LOV return value the above statement does not work. how can i get in the character LOV value.
    Can someone help me please.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

    Yes I tried binding all the values separately. It is working, but, I am trying to pass all values by variableBut you can't. The variable is holding a single string value.... that is just 1 value. Your binding are expecting multiple values. You can't bind 1 string value and expect Oracle to magically know how to break your string up into seperate values for the bind variables. What if one of your bind variables actually needed e.g. a comma seperated string as it's value? How would Oracle know that?
    You must bind each thing seperately. That's the way cursors work.
    , because i have more than 150 tables in which data will be load. that's why i m trying to create a unique procedure to load data one by one table. Otherwise I have to write individual procedures for per procedures.It's a hard life being a software programmer, but somebody's got to do it. Unfortunately there are too many people who try and write "generic" procedures and expect them to just work. I mean why don't Oracle just implement some SQL command so you can do...
    execute immediate 'load all my tables';save us all the hassle eh!? ;)
    when i write all the columns like
    execute immediate (insert_string) using rc1.TOLL_ID, rc1.LANE_ID, rc1.RECEIVED_DATETIME, rc1.LANE_QUERY, c1.EXECUTED_DATETIME
    but it is not possible to generate runtime variable thats why I m trying to assign all values to a single variable and use it like
    execute immediate (insert_string) using (v_string)
    how can I separate the values and ho to use it .Don't use execute immediate. Use the DBMS_SQL package instead and bind your values dynamically with loops to cover all the columns you need etc.

  • Compilation Error while using string (Please help)

    Hi,
    I am using "Sun WorkShop Compiler C++ SPARC Version 5.000". Compiling code which contains a "string variable" throws the following error:
    "/opt/WS5/SC5.0/include/CC/./new", line 32: Error: The prior declaration for ope
    rator new(unsigned) has no exception specification.
    "/opt/WS5/SC5.0/include/CC/./new", line 34: Error: The prior declaration for ope

    The command used for compilation is :
    /opt/WS5/bin/CC -compat=4 -I/opt/WS5/SC5.0/include/CC -features=%all try.cpp
    Would help if I could get some comments on the above.
    Thanks and Regards,
    M Shetty

    There is a requirement that I use the Workshop 5.0
    compilere with option "-compat=4".
    The program I am trying to compile contains:
    #include <string>
    int main()
    string test = "aaa";
    return 0;
    There is no "string" in "-compat=4". You need to
    do something like this:
    // --- start test.cc ---
    #include <rw/cstring.h>
    int main()
    RWCString test = "aaa";
    return 0;
    // --- end test.cc ---

  • How to get the file path of selected file using JFileChooser

    Hi All,
    I am trying to store the file on my FTP server after selecting the file from the user workstation using JFileChooser. But I am not able to write the file on FTP server or on user local machine where application is running. I am new to this FTP server coding. Can anyone help me in this.
    This is the code I wrote on button click user will able to select the file:
    String filename1;
    File file;
    JFileChooser fc = new JFileChooser();
    fc.showOpenDialog(this);
    file = fc.getSelectedFile();
    filename1 = file.getPath();
    txtFilePath.setText(filename1);
    Below is the code to write the file on my local machine first:
    BufferedWriter outFile = new BufferedWriter( fileName ) );
    outFile.write();
    outFile.flush( );
    outFile.close( );
    Any help will be greatly appriciated

    There is NOTHING named 'fileName' in any of the code you posted so that code can't possibly compile let alone actually run.
    How can anyone help you if you won't post the actual code you are using?Its just a random snippet of other code that is totally irrelevant to this thread if you ask me.

    Hi guys,
    We have an issue about toplink. We have two enviroments, a developer enviroment glassfish 2.1, windows xp and java 1.6. Our application have toplink essentials, JPA and some entities mapped. • Running unix command using java shows error

    Hi All,
    I am trying to run UNIX move command using Java exec method but its throwing error, unable to rename. Here below is the code i am trying to run to move all files from one directory to another directory. source and destination directory exists.
    public class Demo
        public static void main(String args[])
            try
                Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
                Process proc = rt.exec("mv /home/demo1/* /home/demo2");
                int exitVal = proc.waitFor();
                System.out.println("Process exitValue: " + exitVal);
            } catch (Throwable t)
                t.printStackTrace();
    }if i give "mv /home/demo1 /home/demo2" in exec method, its working, with * character its giving problem.
    Please help me in resolving the problem.
    Thank you

    Characters like *, >, &, |, etc. are interpreted by the command shell--that is by the bash, zsh, etc. programs. When you execute a command with ProcessBuilder or Runtime.exec, you're not going through one of those shells, so their interpretation of those characters is not available.
    In your code, the character * is being delivered directly to the mv command (which doesn't think * is anything special), as opposed to being turned into a list of files and directories as it would be when it's interpreted by the shell. The mv command doesn't know anything about the * character being special.
    If you want to have those shell interpretations, you need to execute the command through a shell. One example is like so, but a) you'll want to read up on the methods in exec() that take arrays of String, and b) you'll want to read up on ProcessBuilder, and c) you'll need to check your shell's man pages to see the exact syntax and arguments.
    runtime.exec("/bin/bash -c 'mv x/* y'");

  • Running 5 commands using array elements and waiting between?

    Hi All,
    Trying to learn PS so please be patient with me ;)
    System: PSv3 on Win2012 server running WSUS role
    I am wanting to execute 5 commands using a 'foreach' loop but wait until one finishes before moving onto the next. Can you please check out what I have and provide some suggestions of improvement? or scrap it completely if it's rubbish :(
    Current code:
    #### SCRIPT START ####
    #Create and define array and elements
    $Array1 = @(" -CleanupObsoleteComputers"," -DeclineSupersededUpdates -DeclineExpiredUpdates"," -CleanupObsoleteUpdates"," -CleanupUnneededContentFiles"," -CompressUpdates")
    #Run the cleanup command against each element
    foreach ($element in $Array1) {
    Get-WsusServer | Invoke-WsusServerCleanup $element -Whatif
    #### SCRIPT END ####
    I am assuming that I need to use @ to explicitly define elements since my second element contains two commands with a space between?
    The cleanup command doesn't accept '-Wait' so I'm not sure how to implement a pause without just telling it to pause for x time; not really a viable solution for this as the command can sometime take quite a while. They are pretty quick now that I do
    this all the time but just want it to be future proof and fool proof so it doesn't get timeouts as reported by others.
    I have found lots of code on the net for doing this remotely and calling the .NET assemblies which is much more convoluted. I however want to run this on the server directly as a scheduled task and I want each statement to run successively so it
    doesn't max out CPU and memory, as can be the case when a single string running all of the cleanup options is passed.
    Cheers.

    Thank you all for your very helpful suggestions, I have now developed two ways of doing this. My original updated (thanks for pointing me in the right direction Fred) and Boe's tweaked for my application (blew my mind when I first read that API code
    Boe). I like the smaller log file mine creates which doesn't really matter because I am only keeping the last run data before trashing it anyway. I have also removed the verbose as I will be running it on a schedule when nobody will be accessing it anyway,
    but handy to know the verbose commands ;)
    Next question: How do I time these to see which way is more efficient?
    My Code:
    $Array1 = @("-CleanupObsoleteComputers","-DeclineSupersededUpdates","-DeclineExpiredUpdates","-CleanupObsoleteUpdates","-CleanupUnneededContentFiles","-CompressUpdates")
    $Wsus = Get-WsusServer
    [String]$Logfile = 'C:\Program Files\Update Services\LogFiles\ArrayWSUSCleanup.log'
