Select Item Caption Sent During Form Submission

In sending forms with Spry.Utils.submitForm(), I see if the
option value is null, the Spry function submits the option caption
as the value. I do not think this is necessarily the ideal
functionality. In my case, I often leave the first option blank
with a caption such as "Please Select Value". The server side knows
how to handle a blank value, and would either display an error
message if it was a required field, or save it with a null value if
not a required field. Spry sending the "Please Select Value" type
captions really interferes with this. I realize the simple solution
is to change those captions to a null value as well, but I don't
particularly want to lose them either.
I was able to change this functionality with a simple
modification to the Spry.Utils.extractParamsFromForm function, but
I think there must be a more optimal way to do this. Any ideas?

I do not think it is a bug, it is merely a matter of using the framework for what it was meant to achieve.
If you want a solution to your problem, change line 132 (or thereabouts) to read
if (el.selectedIndex >= 1) {

  • Struts portlet page going out of context during form submission

    I?m working on the Weblogic 8.1 version and have a struts portlet inside a portal alongwith the other portlets. When a html link is used, the jsps remain inside the portal context but during a form submission, the request is processed and the jsp is displayed out of the portal as a separate application.
    I?m using the request.getContextPath() in the jsp but still it is not workin.
    Is there anything I should be modifying or that has to make it work?
    What are the changes (if any) has to be made for the form submission in a jsp with regard to a Struts Portlet such that the form submission stays inside the parent portal context.

  • Display infopath form in listview, select item to populate the form

    Hi-
    I once used a list where if you selected the list item by clicking a <-> button,it then populated the infopath form on that page. I have a page with two webpart zones, one for the list and one for the related infopath form. How can i connect the webparts,
    so when i select a single list entry the infopath form populates?
    I cant remember the tutorial i once found, loved this feature.
    thanks

    Hi,
    That icon comes up when you connect the InfoPath form web part with the list web part. The view that is displayed on the Infopath web part will populate with the list item selected in the list view. When creating the connection, choose the option to Get
    form data from and it will automatically select the Infopath on the page. This is a similar post but done in O365.

    Hope it helps.

  • Select item on a Tabular form with a different dynamic LOV on each row

    I would like to use a tabular form where one of the columns is a dynamic LOV based Select, and where that dynamic LOV refers to one of the column values on each row.
    So if the tabular form represented a list of teams and the LOV-based Select column was the current team leader, I would want that select list to be populated only with the members of that team (different for each row). Since the list of team members is in some other table (all_players or something) I would want to populate the LOV with a query with a where clause that selected only those players records with a team-membership equal to the current tabular form's team id. So, on each row that select list's contents would be different.
    -- Justin

    I'm beating a dead horse here but I did get something to work with "less" code. My current needs do not require me to cascade drop downs, I only want 1. You can use the query like the in the first reply (but I don't have a table with joins) I created a simple two column table dept_emp with 4 records 10,null 20,null .... I want to fill the nulls with an employee but ONLY an employee that matches the dept. (Same concept of team leader and members).
    Here's the query:
    select apex_item.display_and_save(1,dept) dept,
    apex_item.select_list_from_query(2, name, 'select ename from emp where deptno='||dept) name
    from dept_emp
    I removed the code that was there already (ApplyMRU) and just put in this code:
    BEGIN
    FOR i IN 1..HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01.COUNT LOOP
    UPDATE dept_emp
    SET
    name=HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F02(i)
    WHERE dept=to_number(HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i));
    END LOOP;
    END;
    The G_F01 matches the column 1 and so forth. There's more documentation but little explanation at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/appdev.102/b25309/api.htm#sthref2171
    The thing I could not get to work was a dynamic message
    #MRU_COUNT# row(s) updated, #MRI_COUNT# row(s) inserted.
    Not sure when the MRU_COUNT gets populated (probably in the routine I removed ;))
    You're probably way past me by now but I like to have as little code as possible when it comes to maintaining an app. That's why I liked oracle forms so much. This kind of stuff was pretty easy to do.
    Thanks again everybody!

  • How to refresh page after selecting value from LOV item , in a tabular form

    Hi ,
    I have a tabular form, which contains 2 items(columns), of type "Select List - named LoV".
    Now, couple of issues here.
    1.
    2nd item(column) in tabular form, that LoV should get populated based user's selection value in first item LoV. So how do i refer to the value, that user selected in first item's LoV? I will have to use this reference in LoV query of my 2nd item ( on this tabular form)
    2.
    How can we refresh the page, when user selectes value in first item ( from LoV). As this is a tabular form, here item type is Select List, we dont have an option to pick item type as Select List with Submit. So problem is that when user selects value for item 1, refresh does not happen and item 2 LoV does not get populated as per user's selection in item 1.
    Please help here. Would be really appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rave.

    Thanks Ben and Dan for your responses.
    Ben, your solution helped me with refresh of page, as page got submitted.
    This answers to my 2nd question. However, I still need to know first question, which basically is, how do i refer to the value, that user selected in first item LoV.
    Issue is, I selected the value in first item LoV, it got submitted and page fot refreshed. But after page refresh, first item LoV loses its value that I had selected last time. It does not retain the selected value after refresh.
    I have an unconditional process, that on every submit(refresh) of page, I set my items with their corresponding values. But problem is what do i mention there to refer to this item.
    I looked in view source of my page, this item is referred as f03.
    So i used "apex_application.g_f03", to set this item to its value, in my uncoditional submit process. But it did not work. I tried to refer this item as "f03" in this unconditional submit process. But still it did not help, the selected item loses its value after page refresh(submit).
    Any help here would be really appreciated. Please suggest how do we refer to this item's selected value.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

  • Items are not visible in multi-select listbox in a static form

    Hi,
    I'm using adobe livecycle designer 8.0. I have a multi-select listbox, the items are hardcoded into the form. In runtime, some of the items are selected from the server side when the PDF is generated. If only one item is selected then there is no issue. When multiple items are selected, the list box is behaving as below.
    If the PDF is static,
    If the listbox is readonly, then all the selected items are visible (highlighted in red)
    If the listbix is editable, then it appears blank. If you select it using right click, then you can see all the items and the selected items. But if you click again somewhere outside the listbox, then the listbox goes blank. If you select it using left click, then the previous selections are gone and the items are visible with the item you just selected.
    If the PDF is dynamic, then the multi-select  is working fine.
    Aren't the multi-select listboxes supported in static PDFs?
    For your reference, I created 2 templates (static and dynamic) and populating the values using javascript in the docReady event. I'm using \n character as delimter to select the multiple items. Please find them at the below links.Notice the "List Box 1" in both forms. In static form, the values appear only after you right click the listbox.

    Hi All,
    In such cases, please try to check as below :
    1) Create Leave request work item from Employee and check the same under the UWL Tracking tab of employee.
    2) Log-in to swi5 transaction of the respective back end system and give "US" -> manager's UserID -> Choose Tasks to be completed from the drop down -> Remove any date if mentioned -> Execute.
    3) Here if you can see the Leave request created, but not on the portal, it reflects some portal issue like sync.
    4) If no leave request work item is seen here, then there is a problem in the employee manager mapping or the workflow setup.
    5) In such cases, you can try to check the Swi1 and check the log of that workflow to understand the current status of the Leave request.
    Revert if further help is needed with more info.
    Reward points if found useful.

  • Generate Turing Number for form submission to prevent automated registraton

    Hi,
    How I want to have a script to generate and check a turing number. A turing number is a number the user has to read and copy in order to be able to validate a form. This avoids automated submissions. Just like when you register for yahoo mail etc it asks for this number to prevent automated registrations. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Just so happens 3 days ago, I took a few hours to research and write a few methods that generate a "turing" sequence of characters and numbers or custom and write an image, I call them viverification (vivo = life , verify = proof) images. Very simple, I have different methods for different needs in my client application code. Here are the methods:
         * Returns a random character chosen from the input charset. If the charset is an empty string returns a char
         * from the set:
         *"1AaBb2CcDdEe3FfGgHh4IiJjKk5LlMmNn6OoPp7QqRr8SsTt9UuVvWw0XxYyZz"
         * Implicit use of the java.util.Random() provides the pseudo random selection algorithm. Iteration of provided set
         * means that efficiency decreases with char set length, so use of very long charsets will incur a performance penalty.
         * If you desire simply to have a random roman letter provided , the getRandomRomanLetter(boolean)  allows returning upper case
         * or mixed case chars.
         *@param String charset -- The set of characters to use as random selection items. If you provide "eaAVB456" the output will be randomized
         * about those 8 characters returning. "e" or "B" or "4" ...in a random fashion.
         *@returns char -- A randomly selected char from the string provided as charset.
        public static char getRandomCharFromString(String charset) {
            if(charset.trim().equals("")) charset = "1AaBb2CcDdEe3FfGgHh4IiJjKk5LlMmNn6OoPp7QqRr8SsTt9UuVvWw0XxYyZz";
            java.util.Random ur = new java.util.Random();
            java.text.StringCharacterIterator sci = new StringCharacterIterator("");
            sci.setText(charset);
            sci.setIndex(ur.nextInt(charset.length()));
            return sci.current();
         * Returns a random character chosen from a character set as defined by the boolean mixed case.
         * Implicit use of the java.util.Random() provides the pseudorandom selection algorithm. Iteration of provided set
         * means that efficiency decreases with char set length, so use of very long charsets will incur a performance penalty.
         * If you desire simply to have a random letter from an arbitrary string of characters, the getRandomCharFromString(String)
          *a char from a user provided set.
         * @param boolean mixed case -- If false, returns only chars from the set [A...Z] if true returns char from set. [aAbB...zZ]
          *@returns char -- A randomly selected char from the string provided as charset.
        public static char getRandomRomanLetter(boolean mixedcase) {
            String set = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ";
            if(mixedcase)  set = "AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLlMmNnOoPpQqRrSsTtUuVvWwXxYyZz";
            return Utilities.getRandomCharFromString(set);
         * Generates a 7 character Viverification Image used to confirm that only in vivo agents are filling out forms presented with the image.
         * The generated characters have forced capital roman letters at start and ends with 5 numerals in the center like: <p>
         * S35872F or R87356H
         * In conjunction with a confirmation field, the characters generated in the image can be matched against the returned string
         * value of those characters returned by this method to ensure a human agent filled out the form. An obfuscation diagonal line is
         *  drawn across the embedded sequence to obfuscate the image from OCR discovery techniques. This prevents bots from
         * being programmed to fill out forms or create accounts on systems built using the framework.
         * @param String path -- The fully qualified file path on the system to write the generated jpeg image file along with the file name.
         * @param int width -- The width of the generated image.  Must be long enough to accommodate the 7 characters as rendered on the generating platform to avoid truncation.
         * @param int height -- The height of the generated image.
         * @returns String -- If the Image generation succeeded, the string of the randomly generated character embedded in the generated image, empty string otherwise.
        public static String createViverificationImageAtPath(String path,int width, int height) throws IOException {
            String out = "";
            java.awt.image.BufferedImage bi = new java.awt.image.BufferedImage(width,height,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
            String viver = (int)((float)Math.random() * 100000) + "";
            viver = Utilities.getRandomRomanLetter(false) + viver + Utilities.getRandomRomanLetter(false);
            Graphics2D g2d =  bi.createGraphics();
           // g2d.setBackground(new Color(200,200,200));
            g2d.drawString(viver,3,height - 5);
            g2d.drawLine(0,height,width,0);
            ImageIO.write(bi,"jpeg",new File(path));
            return viver;
         * Generates a n character Viverification Image used to confirm that only in vivo agents are filling out forms presented with the image.
         * Where n is the length of the input message string.
         * In conjunction with a confirmation field, the characters generated in the image are matched against the returned string
         * value of those characters returned by this method to ensure a human agent filled out the form. This prevents bots from
         * being programmed to fill out forms or create accounts on systems built using the framework. Provides a boolean to enable
         * or disable character obfuscation using a line drawn diagonally across the image text. This prevents OCR automated tools
         * from being used to divine the characters. Accepts a custom desired string rather
         * than generating a random string as is done in createViverificationImageAtPath().
         * @param String path -- The fully qualified file path on the system to write the generated jpeg image file along with the file name.
         * @param String messg -- The desired message string to insert into the image, input image width must be long enough to accomodate the text or it will be truncated.
         * @param int width -- The width of the generated image.messg character string must be less than this width otherwise it will be truncated.
         * @param int height -- The height of the generated image.
         * @returns String -- If the Image generation succeeded, the string of the randomly generated character embedded in the generated image, empty string otherwise.
        public static String createViverificationImageAtPathWithString(String path,String messg,int width, int height,boolean obfuse) throws IOException {
            String out = "";
            java.awt.image.BufferedImage bi = new java.awt.image.BufferedImage(width,height,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
            String viver = messg;
            Graphics2D g2d =  bi.createGraphics();
            g2d.drawString(viver,3,height - 5);
            if(obfuse) g2d.drawLine(0,height,width,0);
            ImageIO.write(bi,"jpeg",new File(path));
            return viver;
        }You'll just need to import the requisite java packages used and you are good to go. If you want to make more complex images you can investigate the image API's further to get a more fancy (though it really is pointless to do so) minimally visually obfuscated images are all you need to thwart even the best subversive OCR (optical character recognition) algorithms that might be used by nefarious agents to spoof viverification.
    Use:
    Ideally you'd call the method as part of generating a page for an authentication or form in a dynamic fashion. (jsp /servlet) The returned string will allow the method to verify the sequence generated against the value returned by the vivo agent viewing the form. As part of validation you would write simple code to check if the string returned during the image generation doesn't match the form field for agent entry. If so you can deny the action, otherwise you can authorize it.
    Enjoy!

  • Line items are missing during transferring ITS to EBP--tricky problem

    Hi,
    We are using EBP 2.0 version.
    Some shopping carts line items are missing while transferring shopping cart data from ITS to EBP.
    This is happening randomly.we had checked all the shoppping cart related tables in EBP.
    For example in my shooping cart 4 items are there,during transferring shopping cart data from ITS to EBP all 4 items are updating for all the shopping cart related tables except account assignment table.
    In account assignment table for this particular shopping cart only 3 items are updated except first one.
    This is happening randomly for few of the shopping carts that too most of the cases first  item of  the shopping cart was not updating reqacct table(this is account assignment table for shooping cart items).
    I have debugged entire scenario,but i couldn't find the problem.
    any one could you please advise me....why this is happening?whether it is a version problem?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi,
    I guess you already checked OSS notes for this.
    Have you checked in the area of ITS ?
    When ITS sends data to EBP, only the actual screen data is sent:
    - item procurement data from basic data
    - item accounting data from accountig tab
    then this data is used to update the SC.
    If you have debugged those 2 screens, you should see what is happening.
    You say that only 3 reqacct lines are updated: does it means that you have the 4 lines previously created, or only 3 ?
    If you change one line item quantity, you should see this updating the reqacct. Same if you go directly in accounting tab.
    Finally, there are two options:
    - this is an ABAP error, so you should catch it in debug
    - this is an infrastrucute error (ITS is not sending the data), so you should get the data sent by ITS in debug mode
    Sometimes in productive environment with an heavy loaded ITS, you can loose some data. Available memory is not enough to fill in correctly ITS session containers.

  • Bug (possibly?): SelectManyShuttle fails to display selected items

    Bug (possibly?): SelectManyShuttle fails to display selected items when valuePassThru="true" in ADF 10g
    Hello all,
    When run, the example below shows a Select Many Shuttle with four choices in the leading list. When items are shuttled to the training list and the page is submitted the trailing list is rendered with no items selected. Is this a bug?
    Configuration
    This example was constructed using jDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0.
    A new application was created using the Web Application [JSF, ADF BC] template although no business components are used.
    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Create the following backing bean class.
    package com.fmcna.adf.test.view;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    import javax.faces.model.SelectItem;
    public class ShuttleBean {
        public ShuttleBean() {
        private List availableItems;
        private List selectedItems;
        public void setAvailableItems(List availableItems) {
            this.availableItems = availableItems;
        public List getAvailableItems() {
            //populate with a List of SelectItem instances on the inital call to this method
            if(this.availableItems==null) {
                this.availableItems=generateSelectItemsList();
            return availableItems;
        public void setSelectedItems(List selectedItems) {
            this.selectedItems = selectedItems;
        public List getSelectedItems() {
            return selectedItems;
         * Build a List of SelectItem instances to be used by an af:selectManyShuttle
         * @return A List containing SelectItems instances
        private List generateSelectItemsList() {
            List initialItems = new ArrayList();
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(11),"First Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(22),"Second Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(33),"Third Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(44),"Fourth Choice"));
            return initialItems;
    }2. Configure the ShuttleBean class as a session scoped managed bean as in the following faces-config.xml file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    <!DOCTYPE faces-config PUBLIC
      "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JavaServer Faces Config 1.1//EN"
      "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-facesconfig_1_1.dtd">
    <faces-config xmlns="http://java.sun.com/JSF/Configuration">
      <managed-bean>
        <managed-bean-name>ShuttleBean</managed-bean-name>
        <managed-bean-class>com.fmcna.adf.test.view.ShuttleBean</managed-bean-class>
        <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
      </managed-bean>
      <application>
        <default-render-kit-id>oracle.adf.core</default-render-kit-id>
      </application>
    </faces-config>3. Create a JSP page containing an af:selectManyShuttle with a nested f:selectItems component. Wire the values for these components to the properties in the managed bean.

            <af:commandLink text="Postback"/>
        </h:form></body>
      </html>
    </f:view>4. Run the JSP. Validate that the trailing list is initially empty.
    5. Shuttle one or more items to the trailing list and click the Postback button. Validate that when the page refreshes the trailing list is again empty.
    Thanks for any input you might be able to provide.

    I'm holding my Nano in my hot little hands with ALL of the things you listed, but here's the sad, simple truth: you CAN'T use iTunes to sync everything. It works well for:
    1) Music
    2) Videos (except sometimes in Vista)
    3) Photos (as long as they're not too large)
    but is terrible for:
    1) calendar
    2) contacts
    3) To-Do lists
    For the latter use something like "iGadget" (www.ipodsoft.com). I also edit/store notes w/iGadget plus it allows you to export files, etc.
    I gave up on syncing iTunes w/Outlook long ago. Good luck.

Before I add the check for the RFA active status, I wanted to get the code that checks for the existence of the RFA record working first.
    After filling in the fields on the forms, click the Create button, and receives an error page with the following error ORA-0094: "RFA_NUMBER": Invalid Identifier.
    I have checked to make sure the table name, column name, and item name were correct with spelling and capitalization.
    Used the Wizard to setup the Item Validation.
    Type: EXISTS
    Validation Expression 1: Select 1 from CTS_RFA where RFA_Number = :P25_RFA_NUMBER
    Error message: Enter an active RFA number.
    location: Inline with Field and in Notification
    Associated Item: P25_RFA_NUMBER
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vivian

    Vivian - Might the column have been created as a quoted identifier with mixed upper/lower case characters?
    Run this in SQL*Plus:
    select count(rfa_number) from cts_rfa;
    If that works without error then this is not the problem.

  • Select List in a Tabular Form

    Hello all,
    Using APEX 4.1 on Oracle 11.2 SE (Oracle Linux Server release 6).
    I have a Page with a region based on a Tabular Form.
    The Region Source query has various columns, including an ID. I have also added a DATE column and a "Button" column which appear on every row.
    The extra DATE field is displayed as a Select List on a Named LOV.
    The extra Button field is displayed as a standard report column, and has Column Link attributes which cause it to branch to another page when pressed.
    What I want to happen is that when the user presses the button on one of the rows, APEX sets two application items before going to the new page:
    1. the ID column for the row in which the button was pressed
    2. the value currently highlighted in the Select List, for the row in which the button was pressed
    Using a Column Link item value of #ID# I can successfully get hold of the ID column for the correct row.
    But doing the same for the Select List column invariably returns the default value of the Select List (i.e. the initially-selected value). It doesn't pick up the change if the user has gone into the Select List and chosen a different value.
    Can anybody advise the easiest way to acquire the selected value in a Select List in a Tabular Form?

    Thanks for the reply!
    To get this working I did the following:
    1. Used APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV(... p_item_id=>'LOVI_'||TO_CHAR(id) ...) in the base query, to generate the LOV. (Note: the ID column is the primary key, so no need to use a ROWNUM column)
    2. Added a Standard Report Column with the following settings:
    Link Text = <img ... >
    Link Attributes = Empty
    Target = URL
    URL = javascript:window.location.href = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:123:&SESSION.::::ID,SELECTED_STRING:#ID#,'+$v('LOVI_'+'#ID#');
    So when the link is pressed, the JavaScript is invoked and it evaluates to the value currently present in the uniquely-named <select> item.

  • How to get the label on selectOneMenu selected item??

    Hi,
    I'm not able to get the label of the selected item in a selectOneMenu. The code I use to fill it is:
    <h:form id="formNacion" name="formNacion">
    <h:selectOneMenu value="#{modelRtbBean.nacion}" id="selectNacion" onchange="this.form.submit();">
    <f:selectItems value="#{dataRecoveryBean.naciones}" id="idItemsNacion"/>
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    </h:form>
    The dataRecoveryBean has this method to fill the content of the component (basically it creates an arrayList of selectItems by recovering data from a database):
    public ArrayList<SelectItem> getNaciones() {
    if ((naciones == null ) || (naciones.isEmpty()) ){
    naciones = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();
    HDBGeografico hdbGeo = new HDBGeografico();
    SqlMadd sqlmadd = new SqlMadd();
    try {
    AccessBD sscm = new AccessBD( );
    sscm.table(hdbGeo.getSqlNaci());
    // The AccessBD object has a reference to the resultset:
    ResultSet rs = sscm.getRS();
    while (rs.next()) {
    naciones.add(new SelectItem((String) rs.getString(1), (String) rs.getString(2)));
    sscm.Close();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e.toString());
    return naciones;
    the modelRtbBean setNacion recovers the value, but I need its label too, because it's a kind of description that I use later.
    In the modelRtbBean setNacion method I'm able to access the UISelectItems object, but I cannot get the selected item itself
    public void setNacion(String nacion) {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (fc != null) {
    UIViewRoot viewRoot= fc.getViewRoot();
    System.out.println(viewRoot.getViewId());
    HtmlSelectOneMenu selNac = (HtmlSelectOneMenu)viewRoot.findComponent("bodySTB:formNacion:selectNacion");
    if (selNac != null) {
    System.out.println("Nacion value-htmlSelectOneMenu :" + selNac.getValue() );
    System.out.println(selNac.getAccesskey() + selNac.getTitle() + selNac.toString());
    UISelectItems uis = (UISelectItems)selNac.findComponent("idItemsNacion");
    if (uis != null) {
    System.out.println("I have the element...");
    this.nacion = nacion;
    How could it be accessed this selected item label ??

    I finally did it as you suggest, but I found another way to access the label (I don't know if it could be useful for anybody but here it is) :
    In the setter method linked to the SelectOneMenu, you can put in this code:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (fc != null) {
    UIViewRoot viewRoot= fc.getViewRoot();
    System.out.println(viewRoot.getViewId());
    HtmlSelectOneMenu sel = (HtmlSelectOneMenu)viewRoot.findComponent("viewName:formName:selectOneName");
    if (sel != null) {
    UISelectItems uis = (UISelectItems)sel.findComponent("idItemsName");
    if (uis != null) {
    ArrayList<SelectItem> listElem = (ArrayList<SelectItem>) uis.getValue();
    You could put in in the value item of each SelectItem it's index position in the list, so in the setter method
    of the bean linked to the selectOneMenu you would get the index of the selected item as the parameter of the method
    int index = 1; // For easyness in this example
    System.out.println("Label: " + listElem.get(index).getLabel() + " Value: "+ listElem.get(index).getValue());
    Thanks !!!

  • Item availability for selected items and directly create the delivery

    Hi All,
    For a very big sales order ..lets say having 700 line items ...is there any convenient way to create the delivery for selected items ..e.g. 30-40 line items rather going and selecting the line items then doing the item availability.
    do you have any LSMW format by which we can do the item availability for selected items and directly create the delivery.
    kindly Guide me..
    With Regards
    Azeez.Mohd

    Hi ,
    There is no stand way of doing it . You need to take help of abaper to do this :
    1. Create a t code where if you give sale order number , it displays a report with all the items with a check box near to it as we see in SE16 .
    2. This report could be best in ALV form where users can do "ctr+f" and search only the required materials then select those lines and press a button on the top of report .
    3. Once the button is pressed , program will run vL01n ( create delv in backgrnd) in a BDC form . At time of delev creating , the bdc program in backgrnd uses only those items which were selected by user and not the other items .
    4. Program will create a delv using a BDC in background and return the delv number for user to view tht.
    U can also try using FM : RV_DELIVERY_CREATE to create delv in backgrnd after user selection if BDC is getting tricky.
    Hopefully ,this shuld work and will be a easy process for the customers.
    Let us know the outcome .. .
    B O L ..
    Hope this Helps !!!
