    Hi,
    What do you mean by simple steps? You need to write little code to add select options in WDA. You can check this wiki for reference: Web Dynpro ABAP - Complex select-options component usages - Code Gallery - SCN Wiki
    And there are lot more documents available in SCN. search here

    Hi Sarath.
    Use i_no_extension parameter of method add_selection_field.
    lr_selop->add_selection_field(
                         i_no_extension = abap_true

  • Select-options fieds

    Hello
    can I create a select-options field on a webdynpro field ?
    If not please tell me how can create one ?

    Sure.  You can create select-options in WDA.  They are exposed as a resuable component. Try searching here on SCN - there are tutorials and videos and I believe a forum thread that lists many of those in the same question that was posted 2 days ago.  Also you probably want to start by just reading the online help on the subject:

  • WDA select-options value help configuration

    Hello,
    I would like to configure the value help in the select-options component in WebDynpro ABAP. I used the parameter I_VALUE_HELP_TYPE of the method ADD_SELECTION_FIELD, but I didn't know how to pass a correct value for this parameter. Could someone give me an example with coding? That would be great! Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Georg

    For those of you who, like me, get a screen full of OTR keys on the buttons and tabs, the answer is on the first tab, 6th button.  Note that it is based on SPFLI, so the expected linkage between CARRID and CONNID does not happen.
    The code is in MAIN_VIEW method ONACTIONON_CRS_FLD_F4_CASES.
    The essence of it is:
        wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
            i_id                         = CARRID
            it_result                    = lt_range_table
            i_value_help_structure       = 'SFLIGHT'
            i_value_help_structure_field = "CARRID  ).
        wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
            i_id                         = CONNID
            it_result                    = lt_range_table
            i_value_help_structure       = 'SFLIGHT'
            i_value_help_structure_field = "CONNID  ).
    The result is that you select the CARRID, and that restricts the CONNIDs.
    I have used SFLIGHT because it will give linked search helps for CARRID and CONNID.  It works with parameters too, but remember GET_PARAMETER_FIELD is not currently implemented (it exists, but contains no code, so your program will seem to work, but it won't) , so use GET_PARAMETER_FIELDS which does work.

  • Select-Options in Webdynpro for Abap with onAction

    Hello,
    I need your help. I have a Webdynpro with 6 Select-Options. I used a button to start the selection. Can the Selection be started with return key.
    Thanks.

    I would expect in any case that there is no problem when you transport WDA build from ehp3 to ehp5 (Backward compatibility ).

  • Select-options in WDJ user interface

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to know why select-options found in SAP GUI screens is not available in WDJ. WDA however has provided this. Is there a possibility that this might be added sometime soon? Or may I please know the reason for omission.
    Warm Regards,
    Abdullah

    no, what I mean is the select-options user interface component. Where in you can specify a range. For example: I can enter a range of employee numbers to be selected for a particular report. In that same control, I can omit some of the employees that I dont want. You can also check the following link for the select-options feature in WDA.

  • How to develop ALV and select-option element in BSP? Help!

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement where I have a selection screen with 3 select-option elements and a search button. On clicking the search button an ALV table report has to be shown.
    The ALV table is used for new row/rows entry, delete row/rows and update row/rows data. This is something like table control in normal ABAP.
    Additionaly, I want the download to Excel, sorting, filtering, column swapping options in ALV.
    How can I achieve this in BSP?
    Is there any existing SElect-option and ALV component in BSP?
    Any code sample will be really helpfull.
    How much development time will it take?
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Gopal

    I think you will find that most of what you are looking for does NOT exist out of the box for BSP.  There is no delivered selection-option or value help.  I ended up creating my own over the years (You can find some versions online here in SDN in my weblogs - however a complete implementation of select-options was only delivered along with the Advanced BSP Programming book).
    There is no ALV either.  However with the htmlb:tableView, you can acomplish quite a bit.  You may have to learn about table view iterators to get it all done.  Downloading to Excel also isn't delivered.  I developed a reusable BSP Extension element for this as well (can be found on SDN in my weblogs or with the Advanced BSP Programming book).
    If you plan to recreate all these elements by yourself, your project will take some time.  It took a while to build so many complex UI elements.
    What release are you running on?  In Netweaver04S you have Web Dynpro ABAP.  WDA has delivered components for value help, select-options, and ALV.

  • Select Options in Web dynpro

    Hi,
    I have a report, this has select options for users to enter the selection criteria. On the screen users can see 'Cancel', 'Check', 'Reset' and 'Copy' buttons but NO 'SAVE'!!!
    Is there a way to save the selection made by the user as a variant? by doing this users can just select their Variant and execute the report.
    Thank you,
    Renu

    Short answer - yes.  You can of course build something application specific to save the select-option values, but there is nothing like the variant supplied by the framework.
    Using personalization you can save single input values as favorites (right mouse click on a field and choose User Settings->Use Current Value as Default.  However this isn't really like the old style variant, no does it capture complex values like those that can be represented within a select-option.

    I am using following code to generate select-options:

      lt_range_table =  wd_this->m_handler->create_range_table( i_typename = 'INGRP' ).
    add a new field to the selection
      wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
                 i_id        = 'INGRP'

    OVS Input Help
    The maximum scope of Dictionary Search a search help is to the structure to which it is related.
    There are situations where this technique is not sufficient.
    e.g.Sometimes different input fields are related to diff value nodes which in turn refer to different ABAP dictionary
    structures. In this case OVS (Object Value Selector).
    Provides advanced search functionality

    How to restrict the F4 help for select option in Webdynpro for ABAP based on some input.

    Hi Karthick,
    Use OVS help. It will take your inputs for search and give you corresponding search value list.
    Refer my blog, it will be helpful.

  • Report help for multiple Date Select options

    Hi Friends,
    For a particular year wise report, the client wants 12 date select-options which are changeable and informal every year .The report will also be displayed as per the given date selection period wise. Please help me how to fetch the datas from the table as per the given selection period. Currently the report have one date select-option where the user gives selection range as 1.04 to 31.03. It's related to EB power consumption report and hence the new requirement on date selection which are informal and not a fixed date of every year.
    Ex:Selection-Screen
    Period 1 : 08.04.2008 to 12.05.2008
    Period 2: 12.05.2008 to 20.06.2008
    Period 3: 21.06.2008 to 28.07.2008
    Period 4: 29.07.2008 to 15.08.2008
    Period 5: 15.08.2008 to 21.09.2008
    Period 6 : 21.09.2008 to 14.10.2008
    The data will derive as per the above selection ranges.......
    Please advise with example.
    thanks & regards

    Hi,
    In this case just derive all records matching dates between 08.04.2008 (low in first select-options) and 14.10.2008(high in last select-options.
    Also my advice is to use a single select-options and prompt the user to give the dates as ranges in the multiple entries dialog which can be opened by clicking the button on the right side of the select-options.

  • How To... Change the Data Type for a SELECT-OPTIONS at run time.

    Hello,
    I am trying to restrict the values available for entry into a SELECT-OPTIONS at run time depending on user input.
    The logic is as follows. The user has two input fields. A PARAMETER field which has the type RSDIOBJNM and allows them to choose an InfoObject. And the user has a SELECT-OPTIONS field to allow them to select the Characteristic values for that InfoObject.
    I would like the following example to be possible:
    The user enters 0MATERIAL into the PARAMETER. When the user clicks on the SELECT-OPTIONS control code will derive a list of possible options the user can enter in the SELECT-OPTIONS. In this case only values found in the master data or at least no values greater than 18 characters.
    I have looked at the following function module SELECT_OPTIONS_RESTRICT and this do not appear to be helpful as they only restrict on the signs allowed for the values (unless I misunderstand, it is a complex function module!).
    The code I have so far is (thus the user enters a InfoObject into p_char1 and the select options so_char1 should only accept active values of that InfoObject):
    declaration of variables for user interface
      DATA c_char(32) TYPE c.
    declaration of count variable
      DATA i_count TYPE i.
    declaration of user interface
      SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK a1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
        PARAMETERS: p_ipack TYPE RSLOGDPID.
      SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK a1.
      SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-002.
        PARAMETERS: p_char1 TYPE RSDIOBJNM.
        SELECT-OPTIONS: so_char1  for c_char NO INTERVALS.
        PARAMETERS: p_char2 TYPE RSDIOBJNM.
        SELECT-OPTIONS: so_char2  for c_char NO INTERVALS.
        PARAMETERS: p_char3 TYPE RSDIOBJNM.
        SELECT-OPTIONS: so_char3  for c_char NO INTERVALS.
      SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b1.
    Is what I am trying to do possible???
    Thanks for any help. Ross.

    You really want to restrict possible values of a select-option based on another field, not change the length of type of the select-option field, right?
    Here is what you do:  Code a custom F4 value help for the select-option at event AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE REQUEST FOR..  The first thing you do here is read the value of the parameter field (p_ipack in your example).  You can use function module DYNP_VALUES_READ.  Based on this value, you can propose values for the select-option fields.  Note that the use can still enter whatever s(he) wishes in to the select-option field without pressing F4. In this case, you will have to code some input validations taking into account the value in the p_ipack field.
