Select Single record from Popup box

Hi Experts,
I am calling zcomponent 2 from zcomponent 1 as POPUP screen and populating the table view.
Now i need to select any 1 of the result from popup and be able to populate the data in the view of zcomponent 2 and close the popup box.
Can any one help me with this ASAP please.

You can use the analytic ROW_NUMBER function.
I don't have a copy of your table, so I'll use scott.emp to illustrate. In scott.emp, there may be multiple rows for a single job. To display just 1 row per job, the row with the most recent hiredate:
WITH got_r_num AS
     SELECT empno, job, deptno, hiredate -- Or whatever columns you want
     ,       ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY job
                                  ORDER BY      hiredate DESC
                                ) AS r_num
    FROM    scott.emp

What results do you want in case of ties? Depending on your requirements, you may want to add tie-breaking expressions to the analytic ORDER BY clause, and/or use RANK instead of ROW_NUMBER.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Point out where the query above is producing the wrong results, and explain, using specific examples, how you get the right results from the given data in those places.
If you modify the query at all, post your modified version.

I have 5 records in my table control and in screen Painter in Made all the fields in Table control as Output field.
and successfully all my Table control fields are disabled...
Now Now i want to enable the record which i selected n rest all the 4 records should be in Disable.
what i did is:
in PBO.

in the layout of the screen u might have dragged and dropped the table control
double click on it u will get attributes screen in that u select MULTIPLE or SINGLE under Line-Selection
under attributes tab based on ur requirement.

Error while selecting NULL value from Popup Key LOV(numeric or value error)

I did the following change
Null display value - (blank) // by default it is displaying '%' in the select this
Null return value - -1
but when I select % (null value) from the popup list, it displays the return value -1 in the text field.
My question is why it is displaying the return value -1 in the text field...*It should display the display value in the text field (i.e blank in this case)*
then, I did the following change

How to select multiple records from a TREE in the table

I have a tree structure which is in the table.When I open the node of the tree,all the subnodes are coming as one-one records in the table.I want to slect multiple record from this table.I applied onLeadSelect for this table,I can select only 1 record from the table.
Can any one plz suggest me how to select multiple records from the table so that I can get all the data of those selected record.

In my case, there is a table structure which has to be updated with values after validating a key. i don't think there is any RFC available now. do i need to create bapi/rfc for that?

It seems to me like you don’t really understand how multi select items work in APEX. This type of items (we are talking about multi-select list, checkbox and the shuttle item) don’t really returned multiple values. They returned a single value that contains multiple segments, each include one valid option. By default, each segment is delimited with a colon (:). In your case it means that if you chose two values from your static LOV, the returned value will look similar to “HB:DC” (or any other combination of options). Now you need to work with this value.
The way your RFA_SIMULATOR_TYPE column build, you can’t really work with the multi-select value, as you’ll never find a match to it, as this is actually an artificial value that only exist as a result of your multi-select.
Regarding the new query you are trying, you wrote yourself that “i am getting the data with all the simulator_type select”, and that is correct. Where in this query you are using your filter (:P1_SIMULATOR_TYPE)? This is not the way to go.
You need to break the compound value returned by your multi-select items, and work individually with each segment. You can do that in two ways. The simple one, as I already suggested, is to add another column that will contain only the code describing the simulator (similar to the returned value of the static LOV). In this case, using the instr() function you are checking if the column value is included in your filter (it’s a revered angle – you are actually checking if the single column value is included in your filter and not if the filter included in your column).
The second option is a bit more complicated and it involves slicing the filter itself and dynamically build your query, using the “SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)” report option. In this case we are going to use the APEX built-in function APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(). The following is a very simple code example that you’ll need to adapt to your scenario:

Hi Prakash,
You can delete a particular record from ODS by specifying the key field name in Selective deletion button available in Contents tab in the manage screen of ODS. But it will only delete the record from the active data table and not from the Change log and new data table . You should be very carefull if you are doing in Production system as there is chance of deleting other records accidentally.
Go to Selective deletion button - > Click on delete selection -> Enter the key field values of the record you want to delete-> Press save button to save as Variant -> Go back and click on selection button -> Chosse the background job type -> Click on start button.

Selecting structure fields from search box in expressions and rules.

I've a case where there are more than one structure object (structures bound to DDIC structure) with same field (lets say MATNR for example). Now assume that I've 5 structures with the field MATNR (struct_1, struct_2,... struct_5). I've to use the field struct_3-MATNR in one of the expressions are result object. So I click on the context menu button of the result link and click on Select... menu option. In the pop up search screen I type MATNR and it shows me 5 result records. Now the problem is how do I know which MATNR belongs to struct_3. The search results doesn't show to which structure &/OR table a field belongs to.
I've been randomly selecting each one till I get the right one which wastes a lot of time.

I'll try to put my case with a more detailed explanation.
Hierarchy:
Function_01->Ruleset_01->Ruleset_exp_01(DB_LOOKUP)
In the above DB_LOOKUP I try to fetch records from database based on VBELN.
I've a structure Struct_01 in the Function_01 context with the element VBELN in it(Struct_01).
My select query goes like this.
Select Col1 Col2 Col3 from XYZ_TABLE WHERE VBELN = Struct_01-VBELN.
I've to select Struct_01-VBELN for the above case, but I don't find Struct_01 though it is in the function context.
Note: I've around 5 structures with VBELN

Time out while reading single record from CRMD_ORDERADM_H table on OBJECTID

This is the problem i am facing in CRMD_ORDERADM_H.
if i search for a single record in CRMD_ORDERADM_H Table using SE11 on OBJECT_ID field, it is giving me Time out error.
CRMD_ORDERADM_H db size would be > 1 Billion records.
It is having a Secondary Standard index on OBJECT_ID.
If i search for single record with OBJECT_ID and PROCESS_TYPE i am able to get the result within seconds.
But if i take some range in OBJECT_ID and single value in PROCESS_TYPE then i am getting Time out erro.
we have index (custom) on OBJECT_ID and PROCESS_TYPE combination.
What would be the cause?

How do I query a single record from a database?

I need to retrieve a record from a specific table within a .mdb file using it's name or primary key to search.
I have the database connectivity toolkit(LV7.1) and have not been able to figure this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I should give some more info. We store test parameters in a MSAccess database.
Using LabView 7.1, I would like to retrieve a "record" or row based on a primary key (our part#)from a .mdb file and then use that data as my test parameters, I do not want to use the row# or record#. The database contains several tables so I also need to get to the specific table.
I have figured out how to get a "feild" or the hole thing but I don't know how to return just one specific row.
I have tried Select data, Fetch, Fetch all and Execute query VIs without success. Would "Execute query" be the way to do it? If so, what would be the correct SQL syntax to retrieve a record base on its primary key?

Select single record per distinct type

My test table is shown below, I needed to return just ONE invoice for each distinct prov_type

I could use: SELECT distinct prov_type,
min(invoice)
FROM test_table
Yields (one invoice per prov_type):

But to extend this, how would I get the same result when
there are more than just the 2 columns (prov_type and invoice)?
Example data (selected from numerous tables):

I'm trying to select ONE invoice example of
each prov_type.
Is there any way to write something to
get one record of each type of prov_type?....without having to execute the
underlying where clause twice (once to get the distinct prov type and min
invoice, and one to get the rest of the data for the invoice???)? I'm wondering this
because the underlying where clause to get the above data set could be slow.
I keep thinking there should be some way to select the above data set, and
then somehow use a subquery or rownum or count(*) or something else to pick and choose the
records I want from this set.
Also, I have something similar to this where I select a bunch of data, and I
want one record where a type column = R and one record where the same type
column is NOT R. Same idea.. is there any way to select the "bunch of
data" one time and manipulate the result set? Or do I have to:

Using PL/SQL AND/OR Dynamic SQL can simplify this. If your requirement
is strictly SQL however, and your main goal is not to have to join
anything else to your view, one (tricky) way would involve the following:
1. get the data length of each needed column (except the key column) from the table definition.
2. convert each of these column into character type, left padded to its data length
3. concatenate these columns, with the target column in the front (e.g. Invoice Number)
4. Apply the group function on the concatenated string, grouping by the key column.
5. parse the string back
This shouldn't be bad if you have to set it up only once!
Note: for the second problem, you can use the same technique, with:
