Select System's Local Directory Path on Button Click

Hi All,
I Have a case where a use needs to give a directory path in
TextInput.
I want to replace this with a Browse Button, which when
clicked need to open a Browe popup to select a Systems Directory
and the selected Directory Name is written into the TextInput.
This is the same way that we do in HTML to select a File from
System.
How can i achieve this with Flex ?

Because of security restrictions, the only access you have to
the local file system is via the FileReference class, which is used
to upload/download files. Note, you cannot use it to get the file
path, security again.
An AIR app does not have this restriction.

Selecting all rows in ALV on a button click

Hi,
I have a dynamic ALV table. I also have a button 'Select All Rows'. On clicking the button I want all the rows in the ALV table selected which is done by using set_selected method at the context node.
All the rows in the alv is selected after clicking select_all except for the first row.
Need your inpts to solve the same.

Select part of jtextarea content over a button click

i would like to do something quite simple, but i don't manage to do it and don't understand why my code doesn't work :s
Actually, i would like to select a part of the text contained in a jtextarea when the user clicks over a jbutton ; here is my code:

the code does work, problem is the textArea needs the focus to show the highlighted (selected) text,
but when you click the button, focus goes to the button.
run the code then tab (not click) to the textArea, you will see the text selected
simple fix is to add this line at the end of the constructor
b.setFocusable(false);

Mounting a local directory in Forte 4.0 (Sun One?)

Okay, I'm relatively new to Forte and am probably missing some detail that is quite stupid, but for some reason I can't mount a new local directory in Forte (on win98 system). I select "Mount", choose "local directory", but then no matter what directory I select the "Next" and "Finish" buttons remained grayed out so I can't get anywhere! It's not a big crisis, but a little annoying just the same. Can anyone out there tell me what I'm missing? Thanks.

if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):

This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:

(so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.

How to select directory path in a selection screen

We can select a file path using the below statement :
DATA : P_FILE TYPE RLGRAP-FILENAME.
But how can the similar be achieved for a directory, that is if one wants to select a folder.
Folder path can be retrieved from the function : "TMP_GUI_BROWSE_FOR_FOLDER" but this doesnt give us the privilege of displaying the path selected in a parameter form as is with the file type.
Any kind of help would be apprecialble.

Currently not possible in Web Dynpro directly. If you are on 7.01, you could use a FlashIsland to acomplish such a thing. Here is a similiar tutorial.

AFAIK, it is not possible.
But you can try a workaround though :-P
Make two radio-buttons:
1. Select File (rb_file)
2. Select Directory (rb_dir)
Then based on the radio-button call the respective method
IF RB_FILE = 'X'.
Call Method CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
ELSEIF RB_DIR = 'X'.

You have to hook it up to a computer and update it to ios 5 and then there will be a "software update" button.

Could not find agent library on the library path or in the local directory

I'm trying to write a jvmti agent that write any information in a mysql db. I've written a simple agent that work correctly and now I'll try to insert the mysqlpp library in my agent:

Did you make sure your library (call it x) starts is named libx.so (atleast, on linux, possibly libx.dll on windows, not sure)? It will not load otherwise, and you must specify -agentlib:x (rather than saying libx.so). Yes, it is "funny" how it gives the same uninformative error message for a wide variety of errors. It will also give you this same error message if there are still unresolved symbols upon loading your library (which would be my second guess).

How to select variable filename from local directory with fn to load xml

I would like to select a specific xml file to load from a local directory. The file name is composed of “Title” + “number sequence”. I know the Title (in this case its XLink07), but I need to select the latest number sequence or the latest by date stamp.
For example, the local directory has the following files:

XLink02[36735298100].xml
XLink02[36735298101].xml
XLink07[36735298100].xml
XLink07[36735298101].xml
In this example I need to select file XLink07[XXXXXXXXXXX].xml where XXXXXXXXXXX is the highest number within the XLink07[XXXXXXXXXXX].xml files. Title is Xlink07 and function should return Number sequence [36735298101]. Files with higher number sequence have later date stamps than files with lower number sequences. I need to select the highest number or the latest date stamp for the file that begins with XLink07….

If you develop for Flash browser plugin (not AIR), there is no way to read directories.

Using Windows 8.1 Pro on Toshiba Satellite i7 Laptop with 8Gb Ram
After upgrade from Windows 8 Pro to 8.1 Pro, the Offline Files/CSC service refuses to start and gives the error message:
"Windows could not start the offline files service on local computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified"
Before the upgrade, offline files worked fine... how do I re-enable offline files?

I had a similar issue - couldn't make any files available offline.
I found that the offline folder service would not start
This was because the CSC permission were totally screwed. I had to take ownership of each folder and file, one by one, then grant everyone full access.
then delete the full contents of the CSC folder
format the CSC database using the registry fix then reboot
in control panel, disable the offline files, reboot, then re-enable. and now its working :)
2hrs to resolve this, with grateful thanks to this thread and some others.

Hello
I am getting Cannot create temp directory when deploying to Oracle AS , can any one help ?

In Windows, setting the Environmental Variable sometimes DOES NOT WORK.
The -Djava.io.tmpdir=C:\temp setting must be made in the server properties of the oc4j in order for it to work.
