Hi all
i am having the below problem.
i have a SelctOneChioce Box which has a list of TimeStampObject from a View object.
i am getting a below error when i selct any values from the drop down list and submit the page.
*Cannot convert 2011-08-03 00:00:00.0 of type class oracle.jbo.domain.Timestamp to class [Ljava.lang.Object;*

Selecting structure fields from search box in expressions and rules.

Hi,
I've a case where there are more than one structure object (structures bound to DDIC structure) with same field (lets say MATNR for example). Now assume that I've 5 structures with the field MATNR (struct_1, struct_2,... struct_5). I've to use the field struct_3-MATNR in one of the expressions are result object. So I click on the context menu button of the result link and click on Select... menu option. In the pop up search screen I type MATNR and it shows me 5 result records. Now the problem is how do I know which MATNR belongs to struct_3. The search results doesn't show to which structure &/OR table a field belongs to.
I've been randomly selecting each one till I get the right one which wastes a lot of time.

I'll try to put my case with a more detailed explanation.
Hierarchy:
Function_01->Ruleset_01->Ruleset_exp_01(DB_LOOKUP)
In the above DB_LOOKUP I try to fetch records from database based on VBELN.
I've a structure Struct_01 in the Function_01 context with the element VBELN in it(Struct_01).
My select query goes like this.
Select Col1 Col2 Col3 from XYZ_TABLE WHERE VBELN = Struct_01-VBELN.
I've to select Struct_01-VBELN for the above case, but I don't find Struct_01 though it is in the function context.
Note: I've around 5 structures with VBELN

CRVS2010 beta - Date field from database does not display in report

Hi there - can someone please help?!
I am getting a problem where a date field from the database does not display in the report viewer (It displays on my dev machine, but not on the client machines...details given below)
I upgraded to VS 2010
I am using the CRVS2010 Beta
My development machine is Windows 7 - and so is my fellow developer's
We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
We run the queries within VS and then we send the data table to VS using .SetDataSource
We have a few reports which display the date on our dev machines (whether we run the EXE or from within Visual Studio)
When we roll out to the client machines (running Windows XP SP3) then everything works, except that the date does not display (on quite a few reports)
This is the only real issue I have had - a show stopper for me
The rest works well - any input will be greatly appreciated

After much testing I have it all working now using CRDB_adoplus.dll as a data source ( XML )
Alter your Config file to look like this:

Selecting desired fields from extract structure to datasource in CRM

hi guys... coming back to this forum with new problem...
how are you guys...
i'm using ds 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 in CRM to extract activities related data...
by standard this data source is not supplying some fields which i needed... but when i checked in 'roosfield' table and even in extract structure 'CRMT_BW_DS_ACTIVITY' it is showing the those fields which i required...
how can i get these fields to data source...
in LO its like...we can select required field from extract sturcture right???
is there any procedure do same with CRM data sources...

Hi,
If the fields are available in ES but not available in DS , then we can Modify the table ROOSFIELD. But, I think, this is some what rude mothod.
Before doing this, It is better to Raise a OSS. They may come out with some SP upgradation.
Search this forum with ROOSFIELD.

How to load date field from a remote Oracle DB with DB Connect

Hi,
Does any one have experience extracting Date field from a remote Oracle database through DB Connect to BW? I am experiencing data format issue. The extracted data shows '04-Oct-0' for '10/4/05'. It works fine if I create a view in Oracle database to preformat the data to '20051004'. But, I am not allowed to create view in Remote DB.
Any suggestion is very appreciated.

You have to change it to a varchar2 field. YYYYMMDD. I do not know of any other option.

Multi select date field

Dates are stored using a DATE field in the database in a database date format. As such, multiple values can not be stored in the same field, only single values.

Importing Date fields from Oracle always defaults to DT_DBDATETIME, and won't accept chages

I am trying to import date fields in an Oracle database in to SQL Server 2012, using SSIS. The package is using DT_DBTIMESTAMP type in the Data Flow, but this has the same range as SQL Server datetime, and it bombs out all the time.
I have tried to change the type used to DT_DBDATE, but no matter what I do the data type on the input columns is readonly and will not change.
Any help would be much appreciated

From the Mapping of Integration Services Data Types to Database Data Types section of the document, we can get the detailed information about mapping the Oracle data types to Integration Services data types. To change the data type from DT_DBTIMESTAMP to
DT_DBDATE, we can use the following two methods:
Method 1:
Right click on the Source component and click “Show Advanced Editor”.
Switch to the “Input and Output Properties” tab, expand the XX Source Output node, and expand the Output Columns node.
Click the target column, and change the DataType property to DT_DBDATE.
Method 2:
Add a Data Conversion component to the Data Flow Task
Double click the Data Conversion component to open the Data Conversion Transformation Editor
Select the target input column, and change the Data Type to database date [DT_DBDATE].

Selecting Multiples Values from Multiselect Box

Here is my requirement ,
Multiselect List Box should display Simulator_Type Values
Simulator_Type Values Values to search for in the column simulator type
AC - small signal AC
HB - Carrier HB
SP - Linear Noise SP - L
SP - s parameters SP - s
TR - Transient TR
DC - operational point DC
ET - Envelope Transient ET
SSNA SSNA
[nothing] nilDepending on the values selected in the multiselect values the data has to be dipayed where the value is in the simulator type column
For Eg : AC - small signal is selected in the :p1_simulator_type multiselect box, The data where the word AC is in simulator_type column should display
Examples of data in the simulator_Type column:

ac, dcOp, Periodic Steady-pss
AC - small signal
AC Small Signal, Operating Point, Periodic Steady

It seems to me like you don’t really understand how multi select items work in APEX. This type of items (we are talking about multi-select list, checkbox and the shuttle item) don’t really returned multiple values. They returned a single value that contains multiple segments, each include one valid option. By default, each segment is delimited with a colon (:). In your case it means that if you chose two values from your static LOV, the returned value will look similar to “HB:DC” (or any other combination of options). Now you need to work with this value.
The way your RFA_SIMULATOR_TYPE column build, you can’t really work with the multi-select value, as you’ll never find a match to it, as this is actually an artificial value that only exist as a result of your multi-select.
Regarding the new query you are trying, you wrote yourself that “i am getting the data with all the simulator_type select”, and that is correct. Where in this query you are using your filter (:P1_SIMULATOR_TYPE)? This is not the way to go.
You need to break the compound value returned by your multi-select items, and work individually with each segment. You can do that in two ways. The simple one, as I already suggested, is to add another column that will contain only the code describing the simulator (similar to the returned value of the static LOV). In this case, using the instr() function you are checking if the column value is included in your filter (it’s a revered angle – you are actually checking if the single column value is included in your filter and not if the filter included in your column).
The second option is a bit more complicated and it involves slicing the filter itself and dynamically build your query, using the “SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)” report option. In this case we are going to use the APEX built-in function APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(). The following is a very simple code example that you’ll need to adapt to your scenario:

Select Distinct Fields from non related table

I have to fetch Distinct Fields from table zdcxy along with the fields from the table zvend but there is no primary key forigen key relationship also if I wanted use join condition. I need to move fields from both the table into output file and 1 part I implemented but I am unable to do second part plz any body can help me its argent. below I pasted part of code along with two requirements.
1.Select all data (Location - LIFNR, Descr u2013 ZPLTNAMEC, CJI_CUSTOMER u2013 CJI customer flag) from ZVEND table.
2.Select all distinct DCs and BUs from zdcxy table.

Selecting date column from a table

I have a problem that looks wierd for me.
I have a table called blog_post which has a date field called publish_date
I have done this first.
alter session set nls_date_format='dd/mm/yyyy';
then
SQL> select publish_date from blog_post;
PUBLISH_DA
09/07/2007
02/07/2007
02/07/2007
02/07/2007
09/07/2007
now the wierd thing is that when i am selectin the same date it is not returning anything
SQL> select publish_date from blog_post where publish_date='09/07/2007';
no rows selected

I don't know anything about Hibernate, but the reason why you need to specify the trunc(publish_date) = to_date('09/07/2007','dd/mm/yyyy') is because of the way that Oracle stores date/time internally.
It's labelled as a date field, but the time is automatically stored as well. So, if you're just wanting to compare the date to another date, you need to ignore the time part of the column - the trunc function does this.
As for the "to_date(<date>, <date mask>)", well, you want to compare a date to a date, not a string. You could rely on the implicit conversion, governed by the nls settings, but I really, really, really wouldn't. In fact, I can't stress enough how much of a bad idea that would be! It's best to make things explicit.

Date range using "Date Field" from basic component

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to create date range option available on the dashboard based on 2 Date Filed component.
Backend for this Dashboard is BW with using BEx query. I have a info object (Z_Date)
Now I want to have 2 date box using Date Field component 1. Start Date 2. End Date.
I have tried following
1. Start Date - on Select
DS_1.setFilter("Z_Date", {"low":StartDate.getDate()});
2. End Date - on Select
DS_1.setFilter("Z_Date", {"High":EndDate.getDate()});
both the scripts do not have any problem but it doest work as it is suppose to be.
I have also tried based on following How to write script for DATE Range
But no luck so far.
Please share if any one have achieved date range working as mentioned.

How to separate date fields from t:calender ip?

when I print this startDate, I get

I want to get date and month separately..how to do this?
because in Date class getDate() method is deprecated...

I do not have 2008, but you should be able to edit the subreport and run it seperate of the main report.
add a formula to the sub to return the dates that are comming from the main report.
Check the links to the sub-report.
You should have two links, one for mindate one for max
Check to see if you have a checkbox above a section that says
Select data in subreport based on field.
This advice may be way off for 2008. but is valid in CRXI

Urgent...... how to select few fields, from database table, (dynamic ita.)

Dear all experts,
I am able to populate all fields data from database table, using dynamic table creation.
eg,
SELECT * FROM (w_tabname) INTO TABLE <t_itab>.
where w_tabname is the table name given by the user, and t_itab is field symbol.
but some requirement is like that i need to pick up only few fields, which user will give at the runtime.
I can take those fields from file into any internal table,
but the problem is that instead of select *, i need to put selected the fields given by user.
i have tried with field symbol, it is not working (as per my knowledge.)
do i need to create any structures dynamically ?
Can anybody please help in this regards ?

Now p_field1 & p_field2 belong to the same table since you have give the user to enter only one table name.
This should work fine.

DTP can Not extract data of date field from PSA to Target DSO

Hi everyone.
I enhanced several fields in datasource "2LIS_12_VCITM". that is date field "BLDAT" and another date type fields.
The data of date type fields are extracted very well from datasource to PSA.
But only field "BLDAT" among them are NOT extracted from PSA to target DSO.
Another date type fields is good. but only "BLDAT" field is empty.
I added "BLDAT" later than another date fields.
Is that the reason??
I don't know why.
Let me know the solution. pls~~~~

Copy data customer PO and PO date field from quotation to sales order

Can you please let me know what copy control settings I need to maintain in order to copy customer PO# and PO date field data in quotation to sales order.
All the data is getting copied from quotation to sales order when I create sales order with reference to quotation but the customer PO no. and PO date is not getting copied.

Not sure if this is possible via Customization or not but you can try the user-exits or Routines for the Sales Order program for this
You need to change the include FV45C102 (assuming you have copied standard order and the copy controls). ABAP team should be able to make changes to this routine and achieve your requirement.
In VTAA, after choosing the Source and Target order type and choosing the right Quatation item, check the routine for 'Bus.data/item compl.' and it will be what has been mentioned above.
