Selecting  views in object browser crashes IE browser

in HTMLDB v2 navigate as follows:
SQL Workshop > Object Browser
in the select list (which defaults to Tables) select Views. This crashes the browser!!
Have installed the MS script debugger and this pops up the message:
A Runtime error has occured. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 50
Error: Object Required
The problem occurs for all options in the select list which do not have any objects of that type created in the schema. (ie if no views are created then it will crash. If you then create a view this option works fine)

Hi
I have the exact same symptoms as described in this thread.
I thought I had found the solution, but I use the HTTP Server that is included with Oracle RDBMS version 9.2. This config doesn't have any marvel.conf file. But I think this is the same as httpd.conf in my configuration (?). I had the AddType rows in there but they did not have any dots before "xbl" and "htc". So I changed the rows to:
AddType text/xml .xbl
AddType text/x-component .htc
... and restarted the HTTP Server but I still get the runtime error as you describe it.
Any ideas of what to do?

  • Viewing oracle8i objects in Jdeveloper database browser

    Hi,
We've created objects in the backend (oracle8i).
When we are trying to use JPublisher in JDeveoper we are not
able to view the oracle objects in the database browser of the
    connection.
The option 'object types' itself is not getting displayed.
What could be the reason for this problem ?

    Hi,
Thanks for letting us know about the version which
    supports JPublisher.
We are using JDeveloper version2.0. Is there any other way to
    create custom java classes?

  • Selecting VI Server.Strictly Typed VIs in Class Browser crashes LabView

    Hi!
My LabView 8.0 Pro on WinXP crashes in the following way:
    0. Opening Blank VI.
    1. Placing VI ref num on the front panel.
    2. Going to "Select VI Server Class -> Strictly Typed VIs -> Browse..."
    3. Loading any VI (say, "myVI").
    4. Then going to menu: View -> Class Browser
    5. Selecting Object Library: VI Server.
    6. Selecting Class: Strictly Typed VIs - "myVI" icon.
Result: LabView crashes saying that there's error and application will be closed.
    Besides there's a little question:
Did I get it right that if I change myVI connector layout or pins it's not refreshed in my
VI ref num and I have to load VI again (see step 2)?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello,
I have reproduced this, but I think the menu navigation you indicated in step 2 has a mistake.  I reproduce it with the following steps, and have filed a corrective action request to R&D on the matter:
    0. Open a Blank VI.
    1. Place a VI Refnum on the front panel.
    2. Right-click on the VI Refnum and choose: Select VI Server Class -> Browse...
    3. Select any VI (say MyVI.vi).
    4. In LabVIEW click: View -> Class Browser
    5. Select Object Library: VI Server.
    6. Select Class: Strictly Typed VIs -> MyVI.vi connector pane icon.
Sorry for any inconvenience - the problem should be addressed in a future version of LabVIEW.
For your question, "Did I get it right that if I change myVI connector layout or pins it's not refreshed in my VI ref num and I have to load VI again (see step 2)?" - yes, I see the same behavior - you should save the VI and then select it again in the VI Refnum.

  • Browser Crash when Selecting Camera Source

I'm on a Mac with a Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor running OS
    10.5.5
I've experienced this issue with Firefox 3.0.3, Safari 3.1.2,
    and Camino 1.6.4
I've experienced this issue with websites: Adobe Connect Pro,
    Yahoo! Live, and UStream.tv
Whenever I'm attempting to "allow" a website to access my
camera and microphone in the Adobe Flash Player Settings, my
    browser crashes.
I can adjust the settings within this Adobe pop-up window
(for example, I can switch between camera/mic sources), but
whenever I click "allow", the browser crashes.
I don't have a webcam. I'm attempting to use "DV Video" as my
camera source. My source is actually not a camcorder at all--but a
    DV deck.
I got this to run stably for several hours the other day. The
next day, I started getting the crashes. Now I can't get it stable
at all anymore on this Mac Pro.
I tried the same equipment on someone else's Mac Pro (same
system as described above). It worked fine and appeared stable.
    Any thoughts?

    We have the same problem.

      Mac OS X (10.4.3)   Safari

    Hi,
I was replying to the original poster in this case. Their crash log was for OS X 10.4.3. Since 10.4.6 includes many bugfixes in Safari and WebKit it may fix their issue.
As you already have 10.4.6 and you mention it occurs for all websites then your problem is unlikely to be the same
Can you post an example crash log as well?
Also, one quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> [+] to create a test one (and [-] to remove it if needed)

  • Browser Crashing when opening PDF inside Browser

I have a Windows XP Pro SP 3 with IE 7 , Acrobat Pro 9.
My issue is that whenever I open a PDF inside the browser I get a error message stating that the browser crashed / stopped responding and needs to close.  The work around that we have been using was simply inside Adobe going to  edit> preferences> internet> unchecking view PDF in browser.
We are launching a new application that requires a PDF to be displayed inside a browser.  Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
This issue also happens with Firefox, and I have removed and reinstalled adobe several times.
    Thanks,
    Adam

    To clarify what you posted:
When opening the PDF document, your browser closes. When pressing the control key and opening the document, you get a dialog window (with the choices of open or save). What happens when you select open?
This is browser behavior, nothing to do with this being a PDF file. Which browser and which platform? If you are using IE7, popup blocker is automatically enabled, and if you are viewing this on a 2003 server, you have server security settings to override. Pressing the control key allows popups.

  • File browser crashes frequently during Open/Save

My late-2011 15" MBP running Mavericks recently started exhibiting a new bug.
In many applications (Postbox, IDLE, PhotoShop CS5, Lightroom, etc) the file browser crashes almost (but not quite) every time it's used.
If I choose > File > Open and start navigating the directory tree, it crashes the application (sometimes showing a generic error message, sometimes just quitting, depending on the application). If I open a Recent document the problem doesn't occur, but if I then try to > File > Save As and navigate the directory tree, it recurs.
This doesn't happen all the time, but once it's started to occur it continues until I reboot.
I've installed a 3rd-party SSD in the primary drive bay, and the standard Apple HDD in an Optibay. But I made this change a while ago and the problem is only new. I'm also running Windows 7 via a Parallels VB (and also Bootcamp) but the problem also occurs even if I don't boot up the VM.
I can attach a crash report if that's any use. I haven't seen any similar problems reported online.
    Thanks for any advice,
    Steve

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • QT7 browser crash in Win

I have been experimenting with the latest version of QuickTime using H264, and have run into a strange problem.
If I export my movie without preparing it for internet streaming and upload it to our server, the page loads as expected (although the movie has to be downloaded entirely before it starts playing - not good for large sized files)
    http://www.blackcatcommunications.ca/nineways.html
When I export the same movie with progressive streaming (Fast Start, Fast Start – Compressed Header), it sometimes plays, but most of the time causes a fatal error, crashing the browser. I have tried various streaming settings in QuickTime Pro and had the same thing happen across multiple browsers (Firefox 1.0.7, IE 6, Opera 8.5) on multiple machines running WinXP.
    Test pages:
    http://www.blackcatcommunications.ca/ninewaysch.html
    http://www.blackcatcommunications.ca/ninewaysstr.html
    http://www.blackcatcommunications.ca/ninewaysstr2.html
I thought it might be something I was doing wrong, but the same thing happens when I view the following pages off the Apple site:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/theater/quicktime.html
    Error (mpeg4, Opera 8.5):
    AppName: opera.exe AppVer: 8.50.7700.0 ModName: quicktimempeg4.qtx

I have also tried un/reinstalling QT7 and hard-coding the <object><embed> tags with the same results.
    Help?

    hi,
this bug is known for some time and has been reported to apple:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312217
    some other reports:
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=398876&p=1
i'm still not sure why some computers crash and some not. maybe something with multiple users and if quicktime is running with admin rights (at least it quicktime changes on some computers it's 'behaviour' regarding which user is running it).
if i open a page with the quicktime plugin in a background tab (firefox) i can watch it without problems. also if i clean the quicktime cache after each h264 encoded movie it won't crash. i tried to prevent quicktime using it's cache, but the result was the usual crash.

  • Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome)  -  the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
    "Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit  Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
    Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat  as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat  installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

  • Reader 9.2 - "can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser"

    Hello,
I recently deployed Adobe 9.2 within our organization. I used the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 to transform the install set, and selected the "Display PDF in Browser" option as default.
When opening a PDF linked from a web URL, we get the message: "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again." This occurs under IE8 and IE6, in both Windows XP SP2 and Windows 7.
If I launch Adobe Reader and unselect "Display PDF in Browser" in preferences, PDFs open normally.

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!

  • Adobe 9.1.3 and FireFox 3.5.1+ "...can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser"

This is the issue but I'm not sure there is a resolution:
    Firefox:  Version 3.5.1
    Adobe: Version 9.1.3
When navigating the web, click a URL that opens a PDF inside the browser and you get an error * "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is
running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser".  Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again".  I did read a post that doing a "repair" from the Adobe Reader application should fix this, they also reference a few registry keys to check becuase the post states it's lost the application path to Adobe version X.  I don't necessarily buy that "fix" and here are my details below.
In FireFox if you navigate to Tools > Options > Applications > Adobe Acrobat Document
    You're given choices:
Always ask:  DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
Save File:  Works, saves the file to a directory on your PC
Use Adobe Reader 9.1 (defau...:  Works, opens your PDF's outside of your web browser
Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox):  DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
    Use other...:
IE seems to just work as expected.
If you open Adobe Reader > Edit > Preferences > Internet > Check "Display PDF in browser" - DOES NOT WORK, produces afore mentioned error *
This would seem to be an Adobe error rather than a FireFox web browser problems since FireFox does seem to know the correct path although I suppose you can't rule out that this is a FireFox problem since 2 out of the 4 PDF open options DON'T WORK.
Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Other information:
Adobe 8.1.5 works perfectly with FF 3.5.1+ when opening PDF's in the web browser, we also had no problems with previous versions either.
MSI push via Active Directory from Adobe 8.1.5 upgrade to Licensed Distribution I signed up for, Adobe 9.1.3 which was upgraded from 9.1.0, to 9.1.2, to 9.1.3 via an MSP patch.
Operating system:  Windows XP SP 2, plenty of RAM, plenty of Drive
IE version this works with the new version of Adobe 9.1.3 is version 7 (7.0.5730.13)
Our FireFox MSI's come from Front Motions website and as far as I know we've never had problems with their MSI's, also tried the new release of FF 3.5.2 from their website.
I think that about covers it.  Anyone else experiencing the same problems or have a patch?

After troublshooting this for the entire day today the issue seems to be a MIME problem.
If everything is woking perfectly, in Tools > Options > Applications...
You should see 4 or more things related to Adobe like "Adobe Acrobat Forms Document", etc.  If you don't see at least 4 MIME entries either your Adobe installation is hosed or your FF installation is hosed.  I haven't figured out which is causing the issue.
What I did was remaster my patches from my original Adobe 9.1.0 MSI with the two updates via the command line in the directories with the source files.  On the 9.1.0 original file I first remastered my MST transform with the Adobe MST utility.  I then applied my patches.
    msiexec /a AcroRead.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd912_all_incr.msp
    msiexec /a AcroRead.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd913_all_incr.msp
I then uploaded that to my network share, unlinked my group policy, made a new group policy, added a batch file to delete adobe.com from program file and the desktop on system startup even though my MST was supposed to take care of that - it's not a perfect world is it?  :-)
I then reapplied my GPO's for both FireFox 3.5.2 and Adobe 9.1.3, I checked to make sure the MIME extensions were there and they were.  You might have to go into your Adobe Preferences and select that open in browser setting depending on what happens or adjust your MIME settings in FireFox's options but it should work.
That's what worked for me.  It's possible a few other things I did along the way tweaked it out, in my group policy on the first run I did select to upgrade previous group policies, for the remaster and repush I didn't select any previous GPO's to upgrade.
It's hard to tell what one thing tweaked it out or what combination of things tweaked out the install.  I did also reinstall Adobe 8.1.5 and FF 3.0.10 before doing all this since our machines currently have that setup, I'm not sure if that affected it either, it's just hard to tell but I don't think it did simply because I had done that several times in troubleshooting this issue.
If anyone else has more specifics that would be great!

  • How can I close an Open PDF form without crashing the browser

    Hi
We have build a webdynpro application in Java. In this application, we are make using of the Interactive form to bring up  a PDF form that the users can print. Our issue is that no matter what approach we take there is no gracefull way to exit once the PDF is displayed.
Here are the approaches we took.
    1) Embed the PDF in the existing Window. The form comes up correctly with all fields, but there is no way to get out from it. A browser back doesnt help, nor is there a default close button in the PDF window.
    2) Bring up the PDF on a separate window. The PDF does come up fine on this new window. We were hoping to use the window.destroyInstanece() method on this new window to both close the window and gracefully exit the PDF form. This too dint quite work out and resulted in a browser crash.
I am sure others must have faced a similar problem. Are there any suggestions on how we can handle this. I found a few other posts with similar issues but no clear answers.
We are using Adobe 7.0.9 Reader on the client end.
    Regards
    Aju Paul

I have been working with Aju on this issue. We are still experiencing the issue.
We have tried using the destroyWindow() method and using a fireplug to redirect the application. When we have an Interactive form embedded on one of the views in the window, the application will cause a browser crash when we try to destroy popup window or redirect the applicaiton.
If we remove the Interactive form from the view, we can destroy the window and we can redirect the application. The problem only  occurs when the Interactive form is present.
We have recently upgraded our server to SP10. I have also reloaded the ACF on my pc. Neither of the steps resolved the issue. What else can we look at to see what may be causing the issue.
    Thanks.....Tommy Knight

  • Browser Crash Interacting With Spry Menu

I created a simple site for our company with a spry
horizontal menu. It works fine when I view it with my machine or
from home. But some people here at work and some customers report
their browser crashing when they use the menu.
    Our Site Link
I have had reports of it not working woth mozilla and safari
    as well... please help...

I've never used Spry, so take this with a huge grain of salt.. looking at your html, I am kinda wondering how come the 2nd level of the nested list items making up your submenu items arent assigned a different css style - and therefore is your css file setup to handle this change in orientation properly..
You got a class=MenuBarSubItem" on your Championship History, but theres nothing in your html (other than the nested ul within #Menubar1) to indicate that Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, etc. are 2nd Level MenuItems which should be using a different css style.. therefore it would be up to your CSS to handle this change in how these 2nd level sub menu items gets displayed.. looks like this isn't happening for MSIE, as MSIE keeps floating your 2nd level/submenu items horizontally instead of stringing them up vertically.. You may be missing a style rule in your css, but how come FF gets it right?
If I were to recreate this menu myself, I would assign a new css class to make sure my submenu items dont end up floated next to each other.. But then again, i have no clue about Spry, so I might just be rambling nonsense here...
