Selection issue in RKF in Query

I need to do a restriction in a RKF where I need to select only those materials stsrting with 'C' & 'G' & 'J'.
Means I need to get values of a keyfigure only for the materials starting with 'C' & 'G' & 'J'. How can I do this??
If I do the selection as displayed in the screenshot as below, I dont get the values !
how can I achieve this?? Is there anyother way??

No Suhas, Its not working, I get no values for the keyfig when i do selections as shown in the screenshot above, even though the values exist for the selections in the cube.
The results dont match, in the cube i can see values for the above selection, but in the report i cant get the values. however if i remove the selections & run the report the results match with the cube data.
Really surprised, but do u agree that the above selections is perfectly valid??

In Pagination, we are using Modified version of SQL Query 3) with ROWNUM as mentioned below :-

a) Instead of like if we use = in the above query it is returning the 2 resultsets (execution time 0.02699282 seconds)
b) Instead of two % in the above query, if use one example REFERENCE like 'KMF22600920%' it is returning the 2 resultsets (execution time 0.03313019 seconds)
Issue:- When using two % in like in the above query i.e. REFERENCE like '%KMF22600920%' AND ROWNUM <= 20 ) , it is going to infinite.
Could you please let us know what is the issue with two % used in like and rownum
5) Modified version of Option1 query (move out the RNUM condition AND RNUM <= 20)

This would be easier to diagnose if there was an explain plan posted for the 'good' and 'bad' queries. Generally speaking using '%' on both sides precludes the use of any indexes.

Cannot acces to the selection criteria of a local query in web browser

We cannot access to the selection criteria of a local query in using the web browser
It seems this issue is already known, a local query created with BW release 7 cannot be used with the web browser.
But this is a blocking issue in our case because we cannot create another local query in using BW 3.X and if we are using the analyser with RRMX and Excel we cannot displayed more of 65000 rows due to Analyser R3.X or R7.
That's why we want to use the web browser because we can export the extraction from the intranet in MS Excel 2007 without limitation of rows.

I checked your requirement but it is not possible to display first value as default value for a drop down list because the list will be generate when you click the drop down list. You can use a 'list box' instead of drop down list.

Different row count for select versus insert in XML query

Hi,
I encounter a situation where a SELECT * returns a different rows count than an INSERT INTO... (SELECT *) by xmltable join. This makes no sense at all!!!
In breif, I tried to convert xml data into traditional relational tables. I wrote an xml query to select data from xmltable... I checked row count. When I used "create table as select" that was the same query above, I got correct row count. However when I used "insert into select" that was the same query above, I got the wrong info in the table I just inserted.
Does any one have any idea what caused this issue? Thanks for your help.

Performance Issue Executing a BEx Query in Crystal Report E 4.0

I'm working for a customer with big performance issue Executing a BEx Query in Crystal via transient universe.
When query is executed directly against BW via RSRT query returns results in under 2 seconds.
When executed in crystal, without the use of subreports multiple executions (calls to BICS_GET_RESULTS) are seen. Runtimes are as long as 60 seconds.
The Bex query is based on a multiprovider without ODS.
The RFC trace shows BICS connection problems, CS as BICS_PROV_GET_INITIAL_STATE takes a lot of time.
I checked the note 1399816 - Task name - prefix - RSDRP_EXECUTE_AT_QUERY_DISP, and itu2019s not applicable because the customer has the BI 7.01 SP 8 and it has already
            domain RSDR0_TASKNAME_LONG in package RSDRC with the
            description: 'BW Data Manager: Task name - 32 characters', data
            type: CHAR; No. Characters: 32, decimal digits: 0

It would be great if you would quote the ADAPT and tell the audience when it is targetted for a fix.
Generally speaking, CR for Enteprise isn't as performant as WebI, because uptake was rather slow .. so i'm of the opinion that there is improvements to be gained.   So please work with Support via OSS.
My onlt recommendations can be :
- Patch up to P2.12 in bi 4.0
- Define more default values on the Bex query variables.
- Implement this note in the BW 1593802    Performance optimization when loading query views

Menu selection issues in Flash CS4 for Mac

I'm having a few menu selection issues in Flash. It seems some fields are de-selecting automatically (and quickly). For instance:
1) When I double-click a layer to change it's name, it highlights then immediately de-selects. I can only rename by right-clicking and bringing up the Properties dialog.
2) Fields highlight briefly then immediately de-select in the Properties menu when using the Tab button to advance or cycle thru fields. I have to click on each field individually to enter dimensions/characters.

On occasion, I'm having an issue in Photoshop where the tools are off by 30 pixels or so. Examples:
- Paint brush affects an area approximately 30px to the right and down from the brush head.
- Selection tool selects an area approximately 30px to the right and down from the arrow head.
This only happens on occasion and can be fixed by restarting Photoshop. I have not had any luck fixing the problems experienced within Flash.
I'm experiencing this on two different machines that have CS4 installed. My only guess is a conflict with a Logitech driver OR a Wacom driver, but I have uninstalled the software and unplugged the Logitech mouse and Wacom tablet to no avail.
Long time Flash/Photoshop user.... never had a problem like this.
Anyone else have these issues or know a fix?

This is a known issue, however we have not been able to reproduce it internally. The way to fix it (assuming it's the same problem) is to change your workspace (such as resetting to a default shipping layout, and then modifying from there), as it seems as though something about the workspace is causing the problem. It could be very specific to where its layed out on your monitor(s), some exact pixel size of a panel and/or grouping - and so on. However, we haven't been able to reproduce this internally yet - only reproed and fixed similar problems - so I cannot say for sure, however changing the workspace has fixed it for the other users I've talked to seeing this one.
If you are able to share the following about one or both of your computers and send it to jdh (at) adobe, greatly appreciated:
* workspace XML file from the Configuration directory (before changing the workspace!)
* description monitor layout (ie: primary on left, secondary on right... or "one" )
* monitor resolution(s)
* screenshot(s) of your layout exhibiting the problem

Datagrid select issue

I am using flex builder 2.01 and have been using datagrids
for a while now. I have recently ran into a weird situation where I
have one datagrid out of three that just will not allow a manual
selection. If I set the index to 0 for instance, the initial view
of the datagrid shows the first item selected. If I go to select a
different item, the first item becomes unselected and no other item
can be selected. If I leave the initial state to be no item
selected, I can never select an item. All other datagrids are
working fine. I have tried to set selectable to true but that
didn't help. This is really odd, any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

Mmmm... Well the good news is I fixed it. The bad news is I
have no clue why it fixed it. This particular datagrid is in a
different tab in a tabnavigator panel. Attached is the expanded
working code. On the line:

I had a click="{GetPropertyArchive()}" to refresh the data on
tab selection. This was old code that was made unnecessary at a
later date but I did not remove the code. My guess is the datagrid
assumed the characteristics of the parent tabnavigator and instead
of ... wait that can't be right. If that was the case then changing
the datasource would not have fixed the select issue because the
'click' definition on the tabnavigator still existed. I would
really like to understand why this mattered so I could avoid this
issue in the future. Any ideas??

I need to populate a select list using an sql query based on the value value I get from the previous page sent using link . How can I achieve this behaviour ? Issue while writing a query in table type select.in the physical layer

I am actually trying to create a table using select in the physical layer..... i acutally am not aware what it is called but its when i click a table in the physical layer i have an option table type and i chose select which allows me type my query..the query is
Select
coln name(which is a lengthly list of conversion) AS column_name
From Table name.
when i view the data rom the physical layer everthing seems to be fine. but when i try to view the data in the frnt end it gives me an error maximum length is too long than 128....
i am aware of this issue the sql server allows only column of length 128..but none of my column length is greater than 128..

Thanks for the reply....actually the corresponding reports for this have already been prepared...i created a view in the backend with the same select which i wrote before and and tried calling the view from her.. i have viewed the data and all is perfect...but when i try viewing it from the front end it error saying invaild object name select * from databasename.dbo.View_name...but i have checked the view exists in the backend...

Analysis Authorization : Selection screen not appearing for query

Hi,
I am facing an issue with analysis authorization. I have created the new roles and assigned to the users. For one user when I am executing the query, the selection screen is not coming up and it shows error message to specify the variables. Whereas its running for all other users.
In S_RS_COMP I have selected Type of a reporting component as Query View, Query & Template structure. I also tried adding Variable in this field but that also did not help.
Please let me know if you have faced similar issue.

Hi,
Go to your query desinger opend your query and select your variable in that you have see first "Ready Input Query" Check box is selected or not. It's not selected you can select that check box.

Authorization issue while opening the query in Bex Analyzer

I get the below error mesage while executing a report.I have executed the same query in RSRT and i get the below message.
I have created some roles and added to a test user for testing purpose and when i log in as a tets user i get the below meesage.
I am not sure what i am missing in the roles.When i tried executing the query in my id then no issues.

Just check this query by this way:
Use Tcode RSECADMIN -> Analysis ->Execution as -> In Execute as user: Put your Test user Id also tick With log and select RSRT. Now use Start Transaction.
Might be the chance to get more details about this issue for resolution.
Also ensure, Have you did the User Comparison while assigning test user id in role?

HFR Issues - "5200: Error executing query: Invalid Item ID"

Hi All,
We are using Hyperion HFM application 11.1.1.3. Recently we have upgraded the Oralce Database to 11.2.0.2 and reconfigured the HFM application with this new database version. When I tried to run the Financial reporting through the HFR studio, I am getting error message - "5200: Error executing query: Invalid Item ID". Please could you help me to resolve this issue.

This was due to an invalid default Point of View for the user that was incompatible with the particular report.
Change the Preferences to User Point of View Preview and run the report again.
File > Preference > Financial Reporting > Select Preview "ON" under USer Point of View box.
Re-run the report and select the desired POV.
This will prompt the user to change their POV every time he or she opens a report. They can select the correct POV and the report runs correctly.
You can turn off later. Let me know if it fixed this issue.
