Selectively Install Testing Repo Pkgs

Is there any way to selectively install and update packages from the testing repo? For example I wanted to get gtk-sharp-2 and keep that up to date with whats in testing, but don't want to get gcc 4 everytime I run a system update.

yeah, put testing last (so and -Syu won't grab package from it) and then do "pacman -S testing/gcc"

  • Test Manager cannot install Test Agent on selected VMs (trying to create a new environment)

    I am trying to create a new SCVMM environment.
    I picked a bunch of VMs that are up and running.
    I know the administrator credentials for these VMs (It's the same for all of the chosen VMs)
    I have a test controller on my dev machine which is also up and running.
    But I'm getting an error in the Verification step saying -
    "Microsoft test manager cannot install test agent on these machines. Possible causes:
    - Machines are not running or they are not available on the network.
    - The File and Printer sharing exception is not enabled on the machines."
    I have done the following -
    1) Disabled firewalls on all the machines
    2) Network Adapters on all the machines are connected (ON) and their drivers are up to date
    3) Enabled file and printer sharing exceptions on all machines
    Still getting the same error.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a bunch!

    That's probably a very well written description of what
    you've done... it seemed refreshingly thorough. I'm on the verge of
    a cold or something, with a slightly fuzzy brain, so what I thought
    I read seemed to describe you've done just about everything
    correctly, except for one thing (maybe another)... If you gave the
    button the instance name stepin...
    stepin.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,
    mouseDownHandler);
    and you could/should change that from MOUSE_DOWN to CLICK
    If that's not the problem, then it is possible the issue
    arises due to the tween. Be sure to have the button instance name
    assigned at both ends of the tween (I'm assuming by classic tween
    you mean a timeline tween). For some reason objects don't like to
    give up some of their past life's properties when moving from one
    frame to the next, so if the beginning of the tween doesn't have an
    instance name, then it's likely that it stays that way when it
    reaches the other end despite you assigning the name there.
    PS - for the stepin button, if you haven't already done so,
    you should open it for editing and draw a rectangle in the 4th
    (Hit) frame that covers the entire area of the text. It will not be
    visible, but will allow clicking between letters in the button...

  • Unit Test repos - Upgrade to SqlDev 3.0.04 from SqlDev 2.1.1.64

    Hi all,
    I just installed the new SQL Developer 3.0 (3.0.04).
    I have a Unit Test Repository that I created under SQL Developer 2.1.1.64 and when I get the new version 3 SQL Developer to connect to it I get a error stating that "No Repository was found on the selected connection. Would you like to create one now?"
    There is certainly a repos there so I say no.
    I tried the Tools|Unit Test|Create\Update repository menu option assuming it does an upgrade and I get prompted for sys credentials.
    I do not want to loose my existing tests and they still work fine from SQL Deveoper 2.1 so my repos is not corrupted.
    I have looked all over the doco for SQL Dev 3 but I am unable to find any detail about how to deal with upgrading the repos. Infact I cannot find any info about installing the repos from scratch??
    Hope someone can help.
    Cheers
    Chris .....

    Hi Chris,
    I spent many hours with UT in SQL Developer and I think, that I know, where is your problem.
    UT repository is only a group of tables, views, user rights and so on. When you go to c:\Program Files\sqldeveloper-3.0\sqldeveloper\extensions\, you can find file oracle.sqldeveloper.unit_test.jar.
    Rename this file to zip and unpack.
    Then go to oracle.sqldeveloper.unit_test.zip\oracle\dbtools\unit_test\repository\20\ and here you have some useful scripts.
    If you want update your repository, just run update20.sql.
    Then you must grant rights:
    create role UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR;
    create role UT_REPO_USER;
    grant create public synonym,drop public synonym to UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR;
    grant select on dba_role_privs to UT_REPO_USER;
    grant select on dba_role_privs to UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR;
    grant select on dba_roles to UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR;
    grant select on dba_roles to UT_REPO_USER;
    grant ut_repo_user to UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR with admin option;
    grant UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR to "YOUR_UT_ADMIN_USER" with admin option;
    Thats all, hope this helps...

    I have the same problem, but when using my mobile via bluetooth as an input device
    I get Xorg freez and only mouse cursor works.
    I'm using compiz but the freez happens when I'm using keys on my mobile to controll amarok.

  • [Solved]How do I safely disable [testing] repo.?

    Hi.!
    I installed Arch about a month ago with [testing] repo enabled.I upgraded my system a few times in the period.Now I want to disable [testing] repo.So, I edited /etc/pacman.conf and commented it out.Now on running "pacman -Syu", I get:

    How do I downgrade these packages without breaking anything on my system.Just running "pacman -S <any package from warning list> gives errors like missing dependencies, existing libraries etc.So I guess that's not the optimal way.
    Or do I even need to downgrade these packages.From what I read on the wiki, packages in [testing] are candidates for [core] and [extra].So, if I just let them be till they hit [core] or [extra] and then re-install them, things should go smooth, but I am not very sure on this.
    Any help will be appreciated.!

    arch0r wrote:did the same recently because of the xorg-server issue. just pacman -S all packages shown in the list
    That was a quick reply.!
    As I said, that gives errors like a library already exists, dependency missing etc.Like, if I try pacman -S libgl, it says a certain library already exists on filesystem.Should I just remove that library and continue installing.?
    EDIT: Aah..nvm.Was trying to install packages individually which generated all those dependency, library warnings.Installing all packages simultaneously did the trick.
    Thanks.!

  • Best way to update through testing repo

    As I am finding out, there are certain limitations to pacman. I enabled the testing repo to try out xorg 1.7, and to see if this could help with my X delay at startup. I enabled the repo and installed xorg, gcc, and among other packages. My problem is, I dont want the testing repo enabled by default. So I comment out testing from my pacman.conf, and now I cannot upgrade without dependency errors.
    Should I have used the ABS to install xorg 1.7...? Now I would like to disable the testing repo and be able to still sync and upgrade as normal. Am I missing something here...? Since I upgraded all packages from the testing repo, and now all my revisions are newer, and when I disable the repo to prevent any other updates, I am now unable to upgrade normally...  So... what is the best way to upgrade through the testing repo..?

    You can revert all packages to versions in [core]/[extra] by using "pacman -Suu".  Otherwise, you need to wait for these to move out of [testing].
    What problems are you observing?
    I didn't necessarily want to downgrade all of the packages I upgraded through the testing repo. It was after upgrading the packages from the testing repo, and then commenting out the "testing"  in pacman.conf, and then trying a normal 'pacman -Su'. I was then receiving errors on dependencies that were not met, and was refusing an upgrade. (which i can understand, since the testing db is being ignored, and the revision numbers are different and would cause conflicts)
    I have reverted back to the earlier versions from the upgrade with a 'pacman -Suu'  Now what is the proper way to upgrade just xorg..? Should I use the ABS..? I dont want to enable the testing repo, because if I do, It wants to pull in all of the testing branch that I dont want. So really my original question is... What is the bet way, or proper way to upgrade a package from the testing branch...?

  • [SOLVED] Transitioning from the testing repo back to stable

    I enabled "testing" a while back to get Gnome 3.  Now, I'd like sort of "freeze" where I am now (in other words, keep the installed packages I have) and to go back to the normal repos.
    My question: can I just disable the testing repo and just wait for the normal stable releases to catch up?  Should I expect a smooth transition?
    Thanks.

    It usually is. I've done that quite a few times although I don't recommend it if you are not ready for surprises (ya know, sometimes things *do* break)

  • My Mac won't install mpkg and pkg files.

    My Mac won't install mpkg and pkg files.  Whenever I double-click an pkg or mpkg file, I get the dialog box to "choose an application" to open it.   After some searching, I discovered I do not have the installer.app.  I tried to Repair Disk from my Snow Leopard DVD but every time it boots from the DVD, my computer crashes.  Any suggestions?

    You have the installer app.  It is located in /System/Library/CoreServices.
    Use the finder's Go menu, Go to Folder... and type /System/Library/CoreServices to open the CoreServices folder.   You should see it in there. If you do not see it there then that would beg the question what else might be missing and perphas you need to do an update (re)install (or restore form a hopefully good backup).
    To try to reassoicatate .[m]pkl's with the Installer, take one of your .[m]pkg's and do a finder Get Info on it and set the Open with... to the Installer app.  If the Installer app is not shown use Other... at the bottom of the list to navigate to the CoreServices folder and select Installer.  Then click the Change All... button.
    I am not sure why your [.m]pkgs would have lost their Launch Services association with Installer in the first place (unless it really is missing).

  • I am trying to install the driver for a Wacom Bamboo Pad. The dmg from Wacom downloadsand will opens, but when I try to install it the message "Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed"

    iMac late 2009 3,06GHz Intel Core Duo; 500gb hard drive, 12gb memory. OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)
    '“Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.'
    I have been trying to install the driver for a Wacom Bamboo Pad. There are several driver packages listed on the website (the device is supplied ready to run with Windows devices) and I have tried tried downloading all the available drivers which apply to my set-up. Some will not open at all and I get a 'Damaged' message on my screen. Of the ones which open, I can download the .dmg and expand it but when clicked it opens as a window with multiple choice of languages and an icon which instructs you to click to open.
    If I do this some versions repeat the 'damaged' message but the later ones generate a window saying:-
    '“Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.' - this is as far as I can get it to go; most frustrating!
    I understand that Apple's security updates have recently included an alteration that causes this result, and that there is supposed to be a legal (i.e. Apple sanctioned) workaround to allow files like this to be opened. If this is so, can anyone enlighten me?

    Many Thanks, Kurt.
    I knew I'd seen the solution you've provided somewhere - either in MacWorld or MacFormat - but couldn't remember the Gatekeeper bit!
    I shall save it somewhere VERY safe now in case this happens again …
    You have made an old man very happy and saved me from worrying that senile decay had suddenly set in. (I was 70 last week so you might understand the situation from that.)

  • Installing Test Executive 5.0 in LabVIEW 6.0.2

    I'm trying to install Test Executive 5.0 in LabVIEW 6.0.2. However, I run into problems. When i Try to mass compile the test executive folder I get a lot of errors (see attached file), and I don't get the executive in the tools menu.
    Could someone tell me what needs to be done?
    Thanks,
    /Martin

    mass_compile_TestExec.txt ‏32 KB

    I use Test Executive 5.1 with LabView 6.1 (after doing a mass compile) and have no problems.
    It looks to me like Test Executive isn't installed correctly so some VIs are missing or in not the expected place. Try reinstalling Test Executive. Don't move any of its VIs after you install it.
    You get a ### Bad VI message for a VI if any of its subVI's are missing. There's probably a lot of other reasons for Bad VI, but a bad install seems like the most likely reason. A install may be bad if it's incomplete or simply if you install it to a new location and the VIs that use it are still referencing the old location.
    Test Stand is a much more powerful product (and I use it on other applications), but for an existing application with a limited budget, we upgraded LabView,
    the PC and Windows, but we didn't replace Test Executive with Test Stand. Going to Test Stand, you not only have the cost of the Test Stand software, you also have the development cost of rewriting some code for Test Stand. Depending on your application and how much you customized Test Executive, the development cost may be significant.

  • After installing Mavericks, I receive a prompt saying "To open Nexdef, you need a Java SE 6 runtime."  I select "Install" but the pop up returns.

    Tonight I upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.  After the upgrade I get a pop up for a software update.  After selecting "install" it downloads & completes the install.  But then the pop-up returns.  What's up?  Can somebody give a pointer.
    I'm running a Mid-2012 Mac Mini, but that probably doesn't matter for this discussion.

    Java is a third party runtime developed by Oracle, formerly Sun who Oracle purchased.
    Java 6 is near obsolete, Apple used to maintain Java 6 for OS X 10.6 and earlier, but stopped in OS X Lion and further.
    Java 7 is now a user optional download directly from Oracle, however your Nexdef will also have to be updated to use Java 7.
    Java has a very bad history of security issues, in fact Apple's entire Cupertino HQ  was compromised by Flashback malware which targeted flaws in Java.
    Perhaps by then they'll have a version for Mavericks.
    If you don't need Java 7 for anything else, then don't install it. This will keep your machine more secure.
    Perhaps the next Nexdef won't use Java at all, but if it does then it will either install it or demand that it does.
    If you do install it, try to limit it's use in your browsers, turning it on only for sites you trust.

    I was in 10.3, crashed. Had to restore (saving my things). I updated up to 9.2.2. Put in my 10.2 cd to install and I get a message...
    "start up disk was unable to select install cd as the startup disk."
    As far as I know I did all the updates, but could be wrong.
    Anyone have an idea how I fix the problem?
    dn

    Tammie, please excuse my confusion, but you say you were in 10.3 (Panther) and it crashed. You say you updated to 9.2.2, then you say you put in 10.2 (Jaguar) cd to Install. At the bottom in your profile you show you are running 10.4 Tiger.
    So I am confused which Operating System do you want. Your machine will not run all 4 Operating Systems at once.
    To Install from a CD or DVD you Insert the Media and restart your computer holding down the C key for it to boot.
    Also bear in mind that If you are not using a Full retail version of the Operating System, or the Operating System that came with your computer it will not work, if it came from another computer. Operating Systems that come with specifc computers will not mix and match with other computers.
    Please tell us exactly what operating system you want to use.
    Cheers Don
