Self-registration as link

I am using 9.02 and would like to implement the self-registration feature. I changed the global settings which expose the log-in portlet. Is it possible to only have the link for self-registration and not the login (userid + password) information shown. I already use a smart link for the log-in/log-out.

Thank you! It works. I just used the part http://<midtier host>:<port>/pls/portal/portal.wwsec_app_self_reg.create_user because I didn't know what to put in for p_request and p_back.
It calls the self-registration form, so I am not sure what the p_request and p_back are for?

  • Steps to provide supplier self registration link on portal

    Hi,
We deployed the supplier collaboration business package on portal. We want to provide the self-registration link on the portal, from where the vendor/suppliers would register.
i have the link, now my question is., What are the steps we need to follow from here to set up the self registration link on portal which eventually takes the supplier or vendor from logon page to registration to portal.
    Please provide any cookbooks available.

    Hi Masa,
Can you please provide further details on this...
Did you have a custom interface built between the HTML form and the Enterprise Portal self registration form to capture all the information entered. If you used the standard self registration form, how did you make the self registration form available anonymously on your corporate home page.
    Any Inputs would be appreciated.

  • Help using Self-registration feature in 9.0.2

I have set up self-registration, selected Approval Required & then Configured it. As a member of a group that I created I cannot reject a users request to create their own account. I can do this successfully as the 'portal' user. My error is the following:
    (WWS-00000)
Unexpected error encountered in wwsec_oid.delete_entry (50: Insufficient access) (WWC-41417)
What privileges do I need to add to my group so that I can accept or reject users requests? Thanks!

It seems that you are trying to deploy JPDKv2 portlets on Apache which is fundamentally wrong. Portlets developed using JPDKv1 are deployed on Apache
while those developed using JPDKv2 are deployed on OC4J.
You can dowload the latest JPDKv2 from
http://otn.oracle.com/software/htdocs/devlic.html?http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/PDK.zip The downloaded pdk.zip contains full details of deploying portlets developed using JPDKv2.
If you want to leverage the Apache infrastructure, you will need to make ur Portlet JPDKv1 compatible & then deploy it
    on Apache. You can visit
http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=2743&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO It contains articles that should help you get started with JPDKv1.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adding field in Old Jsp based self registration application

    Hi,
I have a requirement of addition of some fields and link in Self registartion on the login page.
As we could not add any link in the self registartion field so i have deactivated the Web dynpro application. Now the Login page displays the old jsp based self registration.I am working on EP 7.0.
Now my problem is how can i add fields to the Old Jsp based application to display it during registration.
I have added some fields using the Configtool in the UME but how to make it display in the Self Registration page.
    Thanks,
    Amarys.

    Hi,
I have not tried this but you will have to try this following things.
1.Don't add any entry in FormMetaData.xml.If the value is in jsp then it should add value in database.Try this one first.
2.Have this UDF as hidden and add entry into FormMetaData.xml and also add the entry in jsp.I think this should work if first is not working.
3.Even if 2nd is not working then you might need to modify self registration class and put the value there.
I haven't tried above method so I am not 100% sure which will work.

  • Self registration, problem

    Hi experts,
I'm traiying to implement self regitration with company approval, I'm using EP 7.0 SP 10, I have configured two Frameworks (Anonymous, Authenticated) and are working fine, I have followed instructions found on http://help.sap.com to configure self registation with approval, BUT (there is always one), when an user self regists this user can access collaboration link in the tool bar and begin to chat, while his user is being approved or not.
If I use the self registration link the user is in waiting for approval state, but he is able to see the masthead, collaboration link, favorite and search tool, with no menú, because he is an authenticated user, how can I stop this? I want to display to these users a message like No portal roles are assigned for this user  or a custom one.
Thanks in advance, any help will be apreciated and rewarded.
    RA.-

Hi Michael thanks for your promt reply,
I think I didn't explained myself right, this portal have an anonymous access content configured an authenticated content and a self regist option activated (companies with approval). So this way we have, unauthenticated customers, authenticated customers and corporate users accesing portal.
The unauthenticated customers could self regist at anytime, but only able to see authenticated content when users are approved by administrator.
I don't know how to tell this users that are waiting for approval that they cannot access private content of the portal util they are approved.
Because we're using instant messaging for all authenticated users, when this users self regist they can chat while their users are being approved, this is exactlly what we don't want, how can I avoid this?.
    And thanks again,
    RR.-

  • Self Registration and More

    Hello Everyone,
We are trying to protect one resource. We have installed Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite and also OID, OVD.
What we want is to create external users through self registration in OIM and then provisioned them to OID. but what after user creation, will those users just stare at the screen. I mean, is there any way to redirect them to OAM protected resource link ?
Or another thing that I came across while I googled was that: user goes to protected resource link and he is a new user so he clicks on new registration button from there he gets redirected to OIM S Registration link, there he gets self registered and provisioned to OID, and again get redirected back to that OAM protected resource page.
Dont know if above thing is possible or not, if it is ? Please let me know how it can be achieved.
    Really seek guidance
    Thanks,
    PS

    Thanks for the reply.
I think for now, we want to go with the out of the box page, except the link to OAM protected url.
It would really be great, if you could please suggest on where & how to provide link to OAM protected url on the OIM self registration page ?
    Thanks,

    Hi
I have arequirement of customizing the self registration form which appears on clickin the 'register' link on the welcome screen. Can someone please suggest which is a  better option to achieve this: through jsp file or through the um configuration on portal. • Self-Registration not working in EP7 SP13

    Hi Experts,
i am using EP7 with SP13, in this i have enabled self registration link in my logon page. When i click on this link it shows registration page, after entering all required information and submit it. Showing message like this
The requested page has been replaced by the new Web Dynpro based administration. Please refer to SAP Note 869852 if you want to use the old administration UI. Click on the following link to access the new administration screen: /useradmin
I followed this SAP Note 869852. they guide us to enable to old UME UIs. then it will work. so develop cant use the new UME WD UIs.
is any other way to fix the issue, doing the self registration in new UME WD UI itself?
    please guide me through this..
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
If switching back to the HTMLB UIs works for you, first I would like to say: Congratulations. No, really, I don't know anybody who really prefers the WD UI.
Nevertheless, I don't see why using the WD UI should stop someone from using the self registration. This /might/ be a bug, misinterpreting the situation, that the UME UI is needed (which is should not after filling in the self registration form). So, you should consider to open an OSS message about it to get a clarification on this. As SAP provides the new UIs as the new standard, I cannot imagine that they wanted to cut of the self registration functionality when using the new standard...
    Hope it helps
