Self registration, problem

Hi experts,
I'm traiying to implement self regitration with company approval, I'm using EP 7.0 SP 10, I have configured two Frameworks (Anonymous, Authenticated) and are working fine, I have followed instructions found on http://help.sap.com to configure self registation with approval, BUT (there is always one), when an user self regists this user can access collaboration link in the tool bar and begin to chat, while his user is being approved or not.
If I use the self registration link the user is in waiting for approval state, but he is able to see the masthead, collaboration link, favorite and search tool, with no menú, because he is an authenticated user, how can I stop this? I want to display to these users a message like No portal roles are assigned for this user  or a custom one.
Thanks in advance, any help will be apreciated and rewarded.
RA.-

Hi Michael thanks for your promt reply,
I think I didn't explained myself right, this portal have an anonymous access content configured an authenticated content and a self regist option activated (companies with approval). So this way we have, unauthenticated customers, authenticated customers and corporate users accesing portal.
The unauthenticated customers could self regist at anytime, but only able to see authenticated content when users are approved by administrator.
I don't know how to tell this users that are waiting for approval that they cannot access private content of the portal util they are approved.
Because we're using instant messaging for all authenticated users, when this users self regist they can chat while their users are being approved, this is exactlly what we don't want, how can I avoid this?.
And thanks again,
RR.-

  • OIM 9.1.0.1 Self Registration

I'm having issues modifying the Self Registration process in OIM 9.1.0.1. I have added an adapter to OIM that generates the userid for users automatically. Then I "hide" the userid field in the Self Registration form because the userid generator will create one for them.
At first it worked fine, but problems arose when I added a password policy. The Self Registration fails no matter what password I enter in the Self Registration form. If I add the userid field back to the Self Registration form and fill in it, then I don't get the password policy error. Has anyone else modified the Self Registration form so users can't enter the userid themselves?

First, do a search for .ear files as well, that's where the xellerate app is going to be, not in a war file.
Weblogic should have 2 apps deployed: Nexaweb and Xellerate and those apps' files will be in
    xellerate/OIMApplications/
That folder has : WLNexaweb.ear and WLXerateFull.ear for me.
If those don't exist, you can try the patch script, which will recompile and redeploy:
    switch to xellerate/setup/
run ./patch_weblogic.sh [weblogicpassword] [oimdbpassword] (i think)
You can find detailed instructions on the patch script if u google it, search the install docs, or specifically where I read about it, in ANY of the upgrade patches, such as 9102 upgrade or BP11upgrade, etc... those docs have a section for what to do when the patching fails and they tell you to delete some files (precompile, etc..) and run the patch script again. I've done this a few times and it's worked for me.
    Hope this helps

  • CISCO ISE 1.2.0.899 - Self registration email address field Limit

    Hi
I was wondering if someone out there can resolve an issue I am seeing, when a user goes to the self registration portal and enters an email address it only allows 24 characters to be entered, in the documentation it states that up to 48 characters can be entered. Is there a setting that i need to change to increase the character limit to above 24.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi Anas
That is not true, I had the same problem with ISE in our Network.
We are running 1.2.0.899, after all the troubleshooting I decided to upgrade the Patch on the ISE.
As part of that I have deployed patch 5, which has resolved the issue.
So please just download patch 5 for the solution.

  • E-mail pattern for self registration screen

    Hello,
We are using WAS version 7.01 SP3 .
We configured the UME to enable self registration.
The generated password sent via Email and everything working correct.
The only problem is that the user can use wrong E-mail pattern and the creation process will continue
(User will create in the system with wrong E-mail pattern for example -  XYZ).
When we tried to create user with wrong E-mail pattern in the standard user creation program it raised error message.
We are using the default E-mail pattern on the Configtool.
Is there any way to stop the self registration process if the user enter wrong E-mail pattern?
    Thanks for the help

    Hi,
You can try forcing the application to quit as described here:
+To force an application to close, follow these steps:+
+iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 3.0 or later+
+Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.+
+Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.+
+If the device does not return to the Home screen, see the steps below to restart.+
    from: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1445
If the issue persists, you should try restarting before trying to reset.
You can restart the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 46 of the iPhone User Guide.

  • Adding field in Old Jsp based self registration application

    Hi,
I have a requirement of addition of some fields and link in Self registartion on the login page.
As we could not add any link in the self registartion field so i have deactivated the Web dynpro application. Now the Login page displays the old jsp based self registration.I am working on EP 7.0.
Now my problem is how can i add fields to the Old Jsp based application to display it during registration.
I have added some fields using the Configtool in the UME but how to make it display in the Self Registration page.
    Thanks,
    Amarys.

    Hi,
I have not tried this but you will have to try this following things.
1.Don't add any entry in FormMetaData.xml.If the value is in jsp then it should add value in database.Try this one first.
2.Have this UDF as hidden and add entry into FormMetaData.xml and also add the entry in jsp.I think this should work if first is not working.
3.Even if 2nd is not working then you might need to modify self registration class and put the value there.
I haven't tried above method so I am not 100% sure which will work.
    Regards

    Hi,
We are using OIM,OID,OAM 11G,in clustering mode.We are facing a problem on self registration process.
For every alternate self registration request, system is throwing an error. After the self register user request has got approveod,I have checked the request status in 'advanced' panel its saying ; " IAM-3051103:The create operation on user entity failed in action stage.:"

    Hi,
I am assuming in clustered environment you are having two instances running.
It must be an issue with a single server,,because the problem is intermittent.
To see which server is causing problem....just perform the following steps:
    1) Stop server1 and keep running server2..and fire new registration request...
    2) stop server 2..and keep running server1.....and fire new registration request.
Using above, atleast you can see which server is causing the problem...
    Regards,
    J

  • Portal authentication failing intermittently post self registration

We are in the process of upgrading from EP6 to EP7 and have hit a critical authentication problem that is proving difficult to diagnose and resolve.
Our self registration process leads straight into user logon:
    1) the user fills in the registration form with their user ID, password etc and selects Submit which creates the user ID in our R/3 user store
    2) the user is presented with text informing them that their registration has been successful and a Proceed button which when selected authenticates them with the portal with their newly created user ID
Step 2) above is working intermittently in our EP7 system - sometimes the process works exactly as expected others an exception is raised (com.sap.security.core.logon.imp.UMELoginException: USER_AUTH_FAILED).
It seems as though the cause is that the user creation process has not completed fully before the logon step.
We tried implementing a wait step (10 seconds) following selection of the Proceed button which reduced the incidence rate of the problem but didn't cure it entirely.
A possible contributing factor is hardware performance as we are testing the upgrade on an impact analysis system which is not as efficient as our live portal landscape.
I've pasted the code which performs the authentication and extracts from the DIAGTOOL portal logs below which show the login module configuration (SAP standard I believe).
Any help/advice what to try next would be greatly appreciated as we are running out of ideas.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    USER_AUTH_FAILED

    Thanks,
    Alan

  • Lookup field in self registration form

I have added a user defined lookup field using Design View.
I added the following attribute to FormMetaData.xml:
    <Attribute name="USR_UDF_LOCATION" label="global.udf.USR_UDF_LOCATION" displayComponentType="LookupField" map="USR_UDF_LOCATION" >

The new lookup field is showing in 'Create User' and User modification forms but does not show in the Self registration form.
I added the following to FormMetaData.xml under the SelfRegistrationUserForm section:

  • Supplier Self registration error in SUS Portal

    Dear Experts,
    Environment SRM 7.0 PPS 3.0 and ECC 6.0 ep4.
We are getting an abort error when completing and submitting the supplier self registration form in the SUS Portal.
During  debug we found that the abort is happening in the class CL_UWS_FORM_RUNTIME  and method  SETGENXSLTPROG.
The problem is it is not able to find the XSLT program and the line of the abort has the following
    message:  x006(uws_forms).
Please let me know if anyone has faced a similiar situation and its resolution.
    Thanks in advance,
    RK

    HI
it is a standard error. Without particular OSS notes.
Try to manage your XLST transformation with program XSLT_TOOL, inside you will find some errors into construction of the page html (i think a very large string or an ">" of more....)
    Check anyway note 1053680

  • Companies and self-registration.

    Hi,
I would like to implement self-registration module at
the portal (EP6SP2) with an option to TYPE the name of
the company the user belongs to, which can be used later
as "company" in the portal meaning. It is almost like this
    (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ep60sp2/helpdata/en/8e/53921c6d00064b8c58e528fd914dd4/content.htm),
with one big BUT. The list of the companies cannot be
defined in ume.tpd.companies property of ume.properties
file before the users will type it. It have to grow up
with the portal and the new companies the users type in.
Is it possible to add companies to that list programmatically?
To save server restart after that?
Meanwhile I add a company the user typed at the self-
registration procedure as an attribute of IUserMaint,
but if I'd like to use it as companies in the portal
    concept - I can't.
    Thank you,
    Yuri

    Yuri,
I am facing a similar problem. Were you able to find any solution. The situation is bit more complex at my end. I have approximately 5000+ Suppliers and each of them will have one designated Admin who will be handling the User Administration of users registering from that supplier (could be 1 to 10 from each supplier). Also he will need to assign them roles. Now before he can assign them roles he himself will need to have 'Role Assigner' rights. But i still need to figure out how would the users be able to specify the company during the registration because without that how will the portal know which administrator to redirect him to.
    Any thoughts ?
