Seminars Mailing Lists

All of a sudden I am getting notices of seminars from all over the country. I have NOT subscribed to the mailing lists for these seminars.
To unsubsribe you have to go to this page:
http://seminars.apple.com/SendMeNews.html
but this page is largely unresponsive. It takes about 3 minutes to load in and then you have to enter the email address you signed up for the lists with. Since I have about ten email addresses, and since I DID NOT sign up for these lists, how am I supposed to figure out how I was subscribed, much less get off.
In any case I tried using my most common email address, and just got a "missing session error" after waiting an interminable time to for the appropriate page to load.
Why is Apple spamming me and why do they make it so difficult to get off their stinking mailing lists. Why can't they have a simple "reply with Unsubscribe in the to: header" rather than referring the user to a web page which does not work. THIS STINKS.

Maybe I'm missing something, but can't you just get the email address the >messages are sent to from the "to" information, either in the default message >header or from the list view, opting to show that column if necessary?
I mean, this is required info -- without it, the message can't reach you!
Actually no. The messages are sent to addresses like:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
etc
listserv software takes names from their mailing lists (of which I only subscribed to AZ) and sends out the message to every address on the list. Unfortunately, the individual addresses are neither put in the TO: header nor any of the other headers I am able to examine in Apple Mail.
I was able to connect to the main page for Apple Seminars, but I can neither connect to the unsubscribe page nor the login page.
At the bottom of the page there is a "contact us" link, but of course this just takes you to the generic "Contacting Apple" page, which we all know does not give the user any information on how to contact anyone at Apple via email.
This is, unfortunately, just typical of the horrible customer service which pervades this business.

    The doc does not mention a separator for the email addresses because we only support one email address per subscription. I have logged a task for our next release to look at expanding it and allowing multiple.

  • Right click on the mail list doesn't open the context menu any more.

    Thunderbird stoped to show the context menu on the mail list recently. Right click just prints the crossing line. What the problem could it be?

    Usually a crossed line through something denotes that it is marked as deleted in an imap mail account.

    See if there is a conflict with an addon.
    Restart Thunderbird in safe mode.
    Help > Restart with addons disabled.
    then perform the same test; right click on email in list.
    Do you get the drop down, if yes, then one of your addons is causing the conflict.
    You would have to disbale each in turn to locate which one is the problem.
    Maybe the addon needs updating.
    Report back on results.

    I have the same problem too. When i restarted with addons disablem problem dissapeared but when i switch to normal mode and disable all off the plugins and addons the problem still remains.

    Sure open Sent folder.
    Just above first message is an icon titled Sort By Date followed by a downward pointing arrow.
    Click on the arrow and select "To" from the list.

    I've been searching through the entire API, specifically the InternetAddress class and I can't seem to find out how to create a group/mailing list. Does anyone know how to do this?
    That is, I would like to be able to group a bunch of e-mail addresses together and give that group a name "my friends". Then send it off using this 'group mail address' as opposed to an array of InternetAddress[]. Then when the recipients receive the e-mail, they see "my friends" in the To: field, instead of everyone's e-mail address...
    Is this possible in JavaMail? I've tried many things like creating an InternetAddress object passing in a comma-delimited list of e-mail addresses but it doesn't like it.

    If you migrated your MobileMe account before 1 August you should have signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it, and you would be able to see your calendars, bookmarks and emails on the iCloud website. Is this the case? Did you sign into iCloud with your @me.com address?
    If you did not migrate your MobileMe account you can no longer do so.
    If you did migrate, did you do so from a full MobileMe account or from a Family Pack sub-account? the latter did not get the complimentary storage (because their iDisks were only 5GB anyway).
    If you had a full MobileMe account, check on your Mac - System Preferences>iCloud - and see whether that shows the upgrade. If it doesn't, you probably need to contact Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

    You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
    If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support (MobileMe Support is no longer available) and you may be asked to pay a fee: in this case you should ask them to deal with it without cost (and hope they agree).
    Note that you haven't paid anything for your MobileMe storage since your first renewal date after 6 June 2011, and iCloud costs nothing unless you specifically choose to upgrade the storage. Note also the iCloud storage is not general file storage in the manner of the iDisk but is restricted to iOS device Backup, Mail, Photo Journal and Documents.

    I have a mailing list and I would like to send emails to everyone on the list in one go, I copied and pasted the list into my email, but can I have this group somewhere so that I can just call it up like an ordinary address from the address book, preferably without having to type every name individualy into the address book. I tried making a group in the address book and pasting the list in without success,if this is possible can some explain how I can acheive this

    Unfortunately, you have to add them one at a time - wait a sec... oh, yeah, if the contact is in your contact list it will 'auto-fill' as you begin to type. So if I want Wendy Whatshername, all I have to do is type Wen and the contacts will show up for you to select and auto-fill the name and email address.

  • I have created a Mail List (25 adds) and it works fine, when I open Thunderbird later the list is gone and I have to create a new one. How do I save lists?

    I have been trying to work out how to use email address lists in the past few months.
    I recently managed to import all my contacts from Windows Mail on the old PC. They are now in "Address Book", there were a few in "Personal Address Book" but most were in collected Addresses.
    When I went into collected addresses and clicked New List it allowed me to create a list of the 25 or so emails required. Then I could send out the email.
    The next day I opened Thunderbird to send another email to the same list and it had disappeared.
    I have since surmised that you cannot save a list created from Collected addresses in your Personal Address book unless the addresses in the list are in your Personal Address Book.
    I will try again now I have completed the import and see if that helps.
    Any other ideas would be most welcome.

    You really should keep your contacts in your Personal Address Book.
    You can drag and drop contacts between address books.
    When sending a message, and the recipient isn't in your address book yet, Thunderbird automatically adds the recipients email address to Collected Addresses. You can turn that off though.

    That's the thing. I have the group in my Address Book. How do I select it though?
    That window just allows me to put in email addresses... and nothing shows up when I start writing the groups name. What am I doing wrong?

  • I dont receive e-mails with attachment sent to OS X Server 3.0.1 Group-mailing lists

    I have a small company using a mac mini with mavericks and server 3.0.1.
    We are using most of the services available in OS X server (except DHCP, Netinstall and Xsan). One of the services we use the most is Mail server, and the whole company uses that as our primary mail server.
    We have set up several different Groups and activated group-mailing lists on some of them. The setup has been working very good for over a year (started using it with Mountain Lion Server).
    Recently I was going to send a christmas card to all employees using the workgroup mailing list. I was using the stationaries in Mail, and it was sent as normal but never recieved by me or any of the other employees. Below is the SMTP Log

    I did some trial and error and it seems like it is linked to the fact that I have attachments to the email. Sending an email with only text is recieved like normal. Even attacment like PDF or jpg is "blocked" it seems. I have tried using email outside my domain but still the same result. Sending the same email (with attachment) to all reciepients (not using the mailiing list) works and is recieved by everyone. I have turned off all email filtering settings on the server but still the same result.
    Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? My guess is that this is a Server 3.0.1 hickup, so it would be nice to get confirmation from others experiencing the same.

  • Mailing lists are no longer being parsed for individual address to be placed in the email 'To' field.

    When I attempt to use a Mailing List, which has worked in the past, to supply the addresses for an email which I wish to send, it fails with an error message as per this example:
    "MAILING LIST NAME (current)" <"MAILING LIST NAME (current)"> is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail.
    It seems that Thunderbird can no longer parse the Mailing List for the individual names and addresses.
    Do you need any more info?

    As you may need this fixed quickly: You could uninstall the current version via Control panel > Programs and Features and reinstall a previous version, download from here:
    Version 31.0:

    click on the type for your OS. eg: If using Windows select 'win32'
    then select the language eg: en-GB = English british
    then download the .exe file
    The thunderbird program is not stored in the same place as your thunderbird Profile. So, uninstalling and reinstalling should not effect anything in the profile folder including emails, address books etc.
    However, it is always a good idea to backup your Profile, just in case :) You can use tools such as MoxBackup and/or ImportExporttool or manually copy your Profile folder to an external device. All info at links below:

    If my guess is correct accounting clerk assigned in the vendor master might be driving this. Check the accounting clerk id's assigned to the vendors. Check the accounting clerk configuration by following the menu path : SAP IMG->Financial accounting ->Accounts receivable and payable ->vendor accounts -> master date ->Define accounting clerks.
    If this is the case you have to create a new accounting clerk id and assign the same to vendors which are processed by new business user.
