Send an equipment outside for a service

hi dudes
I want to send some equipments outside of company because of a service(e.g. Calibration), I created a PO or PR for service (Item category D) , entered sommething in short text but where I can add name of equipments and I want to send them out???
there is no place for them in PO screen. what can I do?

you need to create a BOM with recursive indicator marked that is you need to enter the parent material and item material as same.
becuase you are sending it to vendor for job work
create the po for subcontracting that is with item category L

2. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive the quantities of these materials using Movement Type 501 / 511)
3. ME21N - Create Subcontracting PO (Here Main Material and Component will be same material)
4. MB1B - Transfer Posting w.r.t. Subcon PO (Mvmt Type - 541, Spare Part stock will get posted to Vendor Stock)
5. MB90 - Take Print out of this Material Doc as Returnable Gate Pass (U need to configure Message Determination of Inventory Mgmt)
6. MIGO - GR against Subcon PO (101 - Receive Spare Part, 543 O - Consumption of Spare Part form Vendor Stock)

Best practise for external service when amount is not sure

Hi friends ,
What could be the best practise from the PM side when we want to send an equipment for external repair
and the service cost is not sure .
Also if we will create only service PR and not PO then there could be some legal problems while sending the equipment outside.
What I am thinking is to create a service PR -> PO and then setting the actual cost while invoicing .
Is it fine ?
We would prefer if we can take some print out of the external service mentioning following data through standard SAP :
1) Vendor Name
2) Our Co name .
3) Address from where the equipment is dispatched
4) Address where equipment is to be sent .
5) Contact No .
6) some Dates
Any suggestions.

Hi,
it is not necessary to enter the exact amount for external service in PM order ,
exact amount must be confirmed during service entry sheet ml81n
or it also be adjusted during miro ( invoicing )
and for prininting , most of the part as u said are covered in standard printing of Maintenance order, PR and PO
otherwise there must be customized PO printing in ur organisation that can be change if ur requirements does not meet

We want to send some material outside for repirs or some other work . This material is returnable . What the process I have to follow . Which movement type I can use . Also I do not wih which material document reference this material is taken inward .
Also we need to transfer some assets to other plant what will be the process
Please note that we did not configuered any CIN related customisation

SAP doesn't provide any option for creating Gate Pass (Returnable & Non-Returnable) in standard.
Returnable Gate Pass: -
1. I have gone thru the link but Fortunately i havenot found any information regarding sending material outside for services.
If you want to use Service po then you have only two options:
Either Send the material using MB1B 541 Movement type (If Negative Stock are allowed because for service items you may not found stock)
Or Handle the Scenario out of SAP. That means Send Directly to the Service Provider without using SAP.

For sender SOAP system, we can generate the WSDL link in ID part.
for Reveiver proxy give the integration engine URL.

I just joined this forum, and I need help, if anyone can help I appreciate it greatly. Here's the deal, I just found a neat 20 GB iPod on eBay. Now, I've talked to the seller and I've read his description clearly. He says that he won the unit at the local university I attend through a competition. He has had it for a month, and there seems to be a problem. The unit will not turn on or off sometimes, and he has talked to Apple already. They said that he needs to send the unit in for a repair. He already owns an iPod nano, and doesnt feel like going throught the whole process of getting the iPod fixed, so he's selling it a fair price. Now, my question is, if I buy this unit, will I be able to send it in for repair? I'm meeting the person and i'll find out whether it was misused on purpose. If not, will I be able to send it in for a fix? I got the serial from the seller and checked on-line whether it was still under warrenty, and it is. I have 215 days left of Warranty. So, anyone please help? Sorry for the lengthy explanation

The warranty follows the iPod, not the user. If you buy it, sned it in for repair. See if you can get a copy of the original receipt.

Year contract for Standard service; Two year contract for free modem confusing?

I plan to order internet service to my new residence & I have few questions. Since there is only little advantage in speed between Standard and Power option at my location I have to order Standard service ($19.99 for 1 year). There are some questions with “on line order free modem" option. Standard service requires one year commitment, Free modem requires two year commitment.
- What is a cost of Standard service after this one year commitment?
- Can I sign for two year commitment & how much it costs?
- If I stop the service after one year commitment what is the penalty for the modem?
- Can I return modem after one year commitment and not pay modem penalty?

I doubt they would take back the modem, but might charge you for early termination.
Here's my experience:
4 years ago, i had 3mb dsl service w/ a 327w modem and 5 phone filters (paid for shipping) . i decided to port my phone to verizon's voice wing. i had received a linksys pap2 voip adapter (paid for shipping). i was then told that if i port my number it would drop my dsl service. that didn't go through, and i tried to send the equipment back but never able to coz i didn't get any address where to send it to.
i then ported my phone to vonage who just pulled the plug...i had no dsl and no phone for about 1 month, until i located an 800 number to reactivate my dsl service to a dry loop. i was again sent 5 phone filters (paid for shipping)
I was fine for 15 months, until all of a sudden my speed went down to 2mbit dsl and being told that my line doesn't suipport 3mb. ??? after 15 months of 3mb dsl service, my line stopped supporting 3mb. so i switched triple play to cable a year ago, until my promo expired. now i'm back to dsl w/ 2mb service and i was sent a new modem 7500 (paid another shipping even i told them that i have my old 327w. now i have a spare dsl modem in my pile of equipment.

Your iPhone can be serviced only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold. If you purchased it in the US, then as RoamingGnome said you will have to send the iPhone to someone you know in the US who can take or send it to Apple for you. Apple will not accept shipment from outside of the country. If you purchased the iPhone in another country, then you will have to send the iPhone to someone in that country for service.

Using a Publish Service for print service prep

I'm just starting to work out a new way to prepare images for sending to a (consumer grade!) print service using a Publish service, and realized I should harness the power of this corner of the Lightroom community to see if my ideas are sound. Feel free to add comments or suggestions.
Here's what I'm doing:
- For each size and processing option (e.g., 5x7, Matte) create a hard drive Publish Service.
Set options appropriately, such as:
- Filename for clarity. I use custom name + orig file number. (There appears to be a small display bug, in that the example displayed will show the " dng.jpg")
- Given what I've learned about Lr and JPEG compression, I reduce the quality to 80% or so for a nice quality/size balance. I don't want to have to muck with this too much.
- My service does not have an ICC profile for me to use, but assure me that AdobeRGB is accepted by their equipment. So that's what I'll use. (One day I'll try out a pro service that understands that a simple thing like an ICC profile makes us feel warm and fuzzy.)
- Resizing to fit. I set to never enlarge (though it should never happen that I have to enlarge) and set the dimensions to whatever I need for this service: 5x7, 4x6 &etc. Hints on optimal dimensions for getting nice borderless prints of a certain size accepted! I know that not all dimensions are created equal.
- I'll assume that the default resolution is fine, but I ought to do my research for when to modify this when I get into 8x10 or larger formats.
- Sharpening for print and paper type for this publish service.
- My service has no reasonable file size limitations, so I just let the exported files get created at any size.
- I minimize keywords. Makes much smaller files because who needs keywords in prints? I have Metadata Wrangler, so I might insert that and have it leave in the minimal set of MD, like ICC profile and copyright info.
So, given this, I can process my images as usual, make a number of crops (just to be a perfectionist) and then drag them to appropriate service where they end up in a hierarchy of folders ready for uploading.
What am I missing?
BTW, I'm not using the Print module because it was too tweaky trying to get it to make JPEGs that would print borderless. Feel free to set me straight on that if you like.

You only get one opportunity to set up the hard drive under publish and the folder cannot be changed unless you get a plug-in to provide a work around.
However you could just create a generic publish folder - something like Photo Lab, or Print Job.
But you could then right click on your publish folder and select “make target collection” - you will see the plus sign added.
Simply highlight the photos you want to print and press B (the same as adding to a quick collection) and your Publish Services folder on your hard drive will be populated with the exports.
The real problem is that you would need to edit the publish settings every time you required different dimensions etc (not sure possible). I use a similar system, which works well and I like how I can see what has already been published and what is still to be published but my prints are always the same size and resolution.
