Sending material outside for repair

All SAP Gurus,
We want to send some material outside our company premises for maintenance work.
For this I have made a service PO.
Now, how to send this material out (which mvt. Type to be used)?
And after wards how to take it back
Regards,

Hi Rajan,
Please go thru the link Provided below:
http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=52
I have gone thru the link but Fortunately i havenot found any information regarding sending material outside for services.
If you want to use Service po then you have only two options:
Either Send the material using MB1B 541 Movement type (If Negative Stock are allowed because for service items you may not found stock)
Or Handle the Scenario out of SAP. That means Send Directly to the Service Provider without using SAP.

Ashok

    Hi,
SAP doesn't provide any option for creating Gate Pass (Returnable & Non-Returnable) in standard.
    Returnable Gate Pass: -
    1. MM01 - Create Material Master for every Spare Part / Machinery to be sent to Vendor for Repair as Non-Valuated (Material Type "UNBW") (Do not extend Accounting and Costing views since you don't require postings of Stock value and consumption values, you only want to track the Service/Repair Charges)
    2. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive the quantities of these materials using Movement Type 501 / 511)
    3. ME21N - Create Subcontracting PO (Here Main Material and Component will be same material)
    4. MB1B - Transfer Posting w.r.t. Subcon PO (Mvmt Type - 541, Spare Part stock will get posted to Vendor Stock)
    5. MB90 - Take Print out of this Material Doc as Returnable Gate Pass (U need to configure Message Determination of Inventory Mgmt)
    6. MIGO - GR against Subcon PO (101 - Receive Spare Part, 543 O - Consumption of Spare Part form Vendor Stock)
    7. MIRO - LIV for Service Charges w.r.t. Subcon PO
    Non-Returnable Gate Pass: -
    1. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive the quantities of these materials using Movement Type 501 / 511)
    2. MIGO - Goods Issue > Others (Issue the quantities of these materials using Movement Type 501 / 511)
    3. MB90 - Take Print out of this Material Doc as Non-Returnable Gate Pass (U need to configure Message Determination of Inventory Mgmt)
Note: - If Client is not satisfied with this then you need to go for development of Gate Pass System.
    Also check transaction code LECI

  • Sending material outside the plant to subcontractor for refurbishment

    Hello experts,
i have created a normal Miintenance order(PM01)and via that order i want to send my material outside for refurbishment to subcontractor,i have alread assigned the Control key as PM02for external services, now my problem is that when i go to components and put in my material with item category as "N"(NON-stock mtrl, though the mtrl is a stock mtrl). i m able to generat the PReq, but when i go to the PReq, i m getting the account assignment as "F", but item category is blank and in grey mode that i can not change.
further when i go to making a PO for the PReq, i m still not able to change the item category.
where r the settings that i m loosing.
    Please help
    Regards,
    yk

    yk,
The subcontract indicator on the operation "External tab" is only available if you have DIMP (Discrete Industries and Mill Products solution active) in SAP.
If this is active..this would be the process to follow..
    1) assign Control key with "external processing" to operation
    2) Select the "Subcontract" check box on the external tab of the operation
    3) Assign Components to the operation with item category "L" , when you are providing the materials to the vendor
    4) Assign Proper values to the Material provision indicator for the material
    5) When you save or release the order, the Subcontract PR is then created automatically.

It means you will get a refurbished iPhone in exchange for the faulty one you sent in.

  • Just received my iPod, now I have to send it back for repair. What?!?!?!?!?

I just received my iPod today. It isn't working correctly. I called tech support and they said send it in for repair and it'll be back in about 2 weeks. What? I just got it today. Shouldn't they just send me another one? Am I being unreasonable?

I don't think that you're being unreasonable but I also don't think you'll get anywhere. I don't object to such an inconvenience if a problem occurs after purchase. However, I have a serious issue with having been sold a defective product.
    Good luck!

  • Sending Spare part for repairing via subcontracting

    Hi All,
Our business practice includes to send any spare part(i.e Motor) for
repairing purpose outside the plant premises on the subcontracting
    challan.
But this particular spare part (of ERSA material type) has ALREADY got
issued and NO stock exists under this material code for sending it
    outside.
So currently we are creating the new material code (which is non valuated
in nature)and generating the stock(via movement type 501) of the same for
sending it outside by using the custom movement type 941 (copy of 541
    movement type).
For the above excercise to happen, everytime it is very tedious excercise
to create the non valuated material code. it implies every repairable
material code is having 2 material codes one is valuated and 2nd one is
non valuated, which gives lot of confusion to users.
Please suggest some way out for this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nitin

    Hi
I hope you can use Split caluation here.  Create two valuation type Valuated and Non - Valuated. Carry out the necessary config for split valuation.  while Creating material master for valuation type valuated maintain MAP in accounting view and for valuation type Non-valuated maintain standard price 0.  This may be useful for you

  • Hard drive backup for sending powerbook in for repair

I'm not sure how to ask this in mac speak so please bare with me.
I'm about to send my Powerbook in for repair (mechanical not software) I want to backup my HDD so that in the event that something happens I can restore my powerbook to the condition it was in before it went to the shop.
Although I've done this hundreds of times on PC's I'm not familiar with what the mac equivalent to a disc imaging software would be.
    Any insight would be apreciated.

I use Déjà Vu, and its cloning instructions (in the ? icon at the bottom). In addition to creating a boot-able backup on an external FireWire drive, you can schedule backups of project folders and settings, or just your home folder to said drive. I usually keep nearly everything I work on in one projects folder to simplify things. A weekly backup of your home folder will also help you keep settings that change over time too.
Additionally, you'll want to insure that the external FireWire drive is the same or larger than your original built-in drive (and faster is better, but more expensive, and 2.5" form factor drives can also be more portable since they don't require a power cable), so that you can utilize its Safety Net backups (copies of deleted/changed items).

  • Sending MBP in for repair, $50 reinstall fee if accidental erase...

Hello-- I was going to send my computer in for repair recently and the mac genius asked whether I wanted to pay $50 in case things were accidentally erased/lost.
I was kind of surprised that would be something I would have to pay for. Is this normal, are there other options ... like do most people have their own back-up and reinstall themselves or do you just pay the $50 bucks if it happens that things get erased ? and what is the liklihood of losing data ?
    Thanks.

Sad thing is a complete image of your system would take them a few minutes and could be done simply as a customer service. I would come to expect Apple to offer this free service before anyone. Would give great press.
Gone are the days that such issues are even issues. For Apple, it would be as simple as plugging in cable, starting up a backup utility (they could even get a nice one made in house for their purposes), got get a coffee, come back to find it ready for servicing. No fuss, no muss.
The charge I think it very weak of Apple. Not surprising, but very weak, considering just how easy it would be backup the data with the means at their disposal.
Then again, Time Machine should make backups run a little smoother on Mac, which have a surprisingly very poor bundle of backup utilities to choose from.

  • What happens when Apple send a box for repair?

    Hi,
After calling AppleCare about my white MacBook's discolouration issue again today, they have agreed to take it in and replace the inner top casing - which makes me very happy. They have said that as soon as they receive it, they will repair it and send it back the next day, so hopefully no more than a week in all - even better. They said they would "send a box" via TNT. Not having had to send in any of my Macs for repair before, I wondered if any of you who have been through this experience could tell me what the procedure is. When they say they are "sending a box", does this mean when TNT come around they will pop my MacBook in a box and take it away with them there and then? Will they want to take away the original packaging (and software, remote, power adapter etc) along with it, or just the MacBook itself? I'll be at work when they come with the box and my other half will have to deal with it, so I just want to make sure I have it all ready for her and know what to expect...
    Thanks!
MacBook white 2Ghz, iBook 1Ghz, MacMini PPC   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Same procedure, different machine!
It so happens I had to send back a 15" G4 PB today for service. Apple generously flew an empty cardboard box from Cologne to the Milands for me to pop it into!
UPS is very used to the procedure (the guy told me they have to pick up so many faulty iPods!) so they're happy to hang around for the 1 minute or so it takes to pop your Macbook in a bag like the one it originally came in, then lay it in the box (you have to break off pieces of polystyrene which cunningly create the perfect sized aperture to snugly fit your model).
If Apple didn't mention it then they don't want anything except the Macbook.
Once it's in the box the UPS guy then sticks on a sealed security label, and you wave it goodbye for a week!
I must say I'm impressed at how quickly Apple has acknowledged the discolouration issue - it was an official announcement today that they would replace the top case of affected machines and they attribute it to manufacturing defect.

  • Apple store needs to send my MBP for repair to change an HD?????

A bit disappointed here, not only my MBP HD just failed after 11months but my local Apple store (seattle) can't change an HD they have to send it for repair (???) and 2 days after dropping the MBP at the store it is awaiting shipment to the repair station????
It's a good thing I am a Procare member, I wonder how long it would take otherwise...?
I talked to the store twice about an estimated time for the repair, twice I had to remind them I was a Procare member (they did not know....), .
Is there anybody aside from the local store I could contact about this? can't find a number for customer service.
    Thanks
    F

Sorry, I really don't know what HD I had in the MBP. How can I find out?
    I just read a post :

This is pretty much the noise I have been hearing for about 4 weeks before the drive failed.

  • Sending in powerbook for repair

so i sent in my powerbook for repairs on the 24th. i wonder how long it will take before it will be returned to me?
Just curious, if you have sent in your computer to apple before, how long did it take before you got your computer back?

I sent mine in for an MLB & a bottom case assemblage (basically the whole casing of the laptop excluding the display) replacement and its two weeks and counting. It's all down to availability of parts and i can see why the Ti book owner had to wait a month. Only few of those machines are still in circulation/use hence part manufacture is on a need to have basis and not mass produced like the Al books. This would be my theory.
