Send and Receive in iMessage only shows my AppleID and not my phone number. How do I add the phone number to where I can be reached?

Send and Recieve in iMessage only shows my Apple ID and not my phone number and I can't send nor receive messages from any other phones except iPhones. How do I get my phone number to show up so that I can send and receive SMS text messages and not just iPhone iMessage texts between only other iPhones?

Where is the Start new conversations from??? When I go to Send & Receive, there is no where to add or set to receive at my phone number. There is only a setting to Add Another Email and my Apple Id is already there. No place or way to add a phone number to receive at. I also have a lasting Waiting for activation... under iMessage ON but no place for my phone number although it shows up as My number under Phone.

Try ejecting your iphone from iTunes and then close iTunes. Now retry. Hope this helps.

I just encountered this problem for the first time and stumbled upon this forum to find a solution. I played around with it a bit and it seems that if you slide your finger from the bottom up, you will come upon that new screen that will allow you to do various functions with your phone (put it in airport mode, lock, etc.), you can select your Airport from this screen and play your music wirelessly from your phone; at least this was my experience. I have an iPhone 4S running OS6. For some reason of late my contacts are only displaying the email address and not the telephone number.
I have repowered the phone a number of times but the issue still persists.

Try the following:
1. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
2. Check where the Start New Conversation From is set to. If it's not your number, select your number.
If the above doesn't work...
1. In Settings > Messages, tap on iMessage to turn it off.
2. Reboot phone and after the phone restarts turn iMessage back on.

The only thing I can think of is that Verizon asked you to change your settings to the new servers without actually having set up your account there first.
I would go back to them for resolution. It's def not a phone issue. Like I said, those settings work for me, but I've only been a VZ customer for about 6 months. If you are a legacy client of theirs you might have been on an older email system that they are trying to retire.

Mini DV to Video only shows in black and white

I bought a mini dv to video from an apple shop so that i could watch films on my tv. I connected it to my tv at home and it worked perfectly, but when i try to connect it to my parents tv it only shows in black and white... both tvs are of roughly the same age...I'm connecting the yellow wire to the scart on the back of the tv to the yellow socket on the adapter
how come it works on one tv and not the other one?

When you press the INPUT button on the remote to cycle through the inputs, is "ColorStream HD" listed? Is "Video" listed?

One of you needs to use a separate Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage.
The Apple ID needs to be a verified email address. Once you have an email address, that can be verified, go here & create the ID:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId
Then on one of the phones, turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you both share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

You need to log out of iMessage and Facetime, make sure your number is correct in Settings/General/About, then log back in again to send a new activation request.
