Send Connector, Removing one Source Server

I have one send connector. I have two exchange servers not in HA, when I attempt to remove one of the source servers, email backs up in the que and I get this error
451.4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with 451.5.7.3 cannot achieve exchange server authentication
I then have to add the other server back for email to go out again. Both servers are listed as source servers on the send connector. But leaving the one I want, its not routing email through that server. Do I have to restart any of the services after making
this change?

Here is the output

  • How to send email to a SMTP server over a secure channel using STARTTLS setting of a send connector (Exchange and SMTP server are in the same domain)

I’m trying to send email using exchange send connector STARTTLS setting to the SMTP server. I have read multiple documents on configuring TLS for send connector, but they talks about outbound connections to internet facing servers. My Exchange 2013 and SMTP
server is in the same domain (let’s say A.com) and I’m creating dummy domains on my SMTP server (e.g.
    [email protected],
[email protected] ) and their respective send connectors on the exchange server end. In the smart host section added the IP address of the SMTP server and in the scoping section added the SMTP domain address (e.g. dummy1.local ). In the FQDN field, added
the FQDN of the exchange server 2013 which certificate is enabled with SMTP service.
Could you tell me a step by step procedure, where I’m going wrong or any extra settings needs to added?
Presently, it is giving me an error that 530 5.5.1 TLS encrypted connection is required.
Note: I’ve created the Microsoft CA certificates for the SMTP and exchange servers and imported them in the personal certificate container. In which, the exchange certificate is created with FQDN name of the server and enabled for the SMTP service.
I’m using OPENSSL certificate for making the SMTP server TLS enabled. (let me know, if I need to import the OPENSSL certificate anywhere on the exchange end)?
    Thanks!

-IgnoreSTARTTLS is set to false on the send connector properties.
I'm trying to established a HTTP over TLS connection. I'm not using mutual TLS between these two server.

  • JCos (Java Connectors) from one GRC server to multiple clients on same DEV

I have installed SAP GRC Access Controls RAR on a server.
I have connected the RAR using JCo's to a client (800) on a DEV R/3 (4.7) box.  I have also performed analysis succesfully on the roles and users in this DEV client.
I now have another development client on the DEV box (500) which I need to perform analysis for.  This client is HR specific.
I know I can create a new JCo to connect to client 500.  But what will be the impact on my analysis results?  How will I distinguish between the results found from client 500 and those found from client 800?
How would you suggest the best way of doing this?
    Many thanks in advance.

You will need to create a second JCO to the second client as JCO's are client specific (username password combinations to log on etc etc)
You distinguish the results in Risk ANalyses by choosing the JCO (system) when you create the reports eg: Client 500, Client 800 or ALL.
It can be very confusing and you have to be careful otherwise you will interpret the results incorrectly.
If your new client is HR specific make sure that you have the HR RTA installed as well and patch the HR and Non-HR RTAs up to the latest versions.

  • Which Send Connector is Used

    Hi,
Environment is set up as per the screenshot. Both Send Connectors have address space configured as '*' with Cost 10 and have direct access to the Internet.
I would like to know what would cause Exch2 to use the 'Send Connector 1' on Exch1 rather than 'Send Connector 2' where it is configured as the source server? This was happening when the cost of both send connectors was 10, once the cost on 'Send Connector
2' was lowered Exch2 started sending out using it's own send connector.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Gregor,
Based on my experience, we can manually configure the "Send Connector 2" as Exch1's send connector in the source server.
Found a blog for your reference:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_exchange_cafe/archive/2012/08/27/configuration-of-the-client-access-server-in-the-exchange-2013-preview.aspx
Please notice the step 6 in the "Create Send Connector" session.
    Hope it is helpful

  • Send External Mail Through One Exchange Server Only

    Hello,
I'm very stuck on something & new to exchange.  I have two Exchange Servers:
    MAIL1: Windows Server 2003 & Exchange 2007 SP2
    MAIL2: Windows Server 2008 R2 & Exchange 2007 SP3
All accounts are going to move eventually to MAIL2.  Until then, I would like any external emails sent, to be sent through MAIL1.
So far all all internal mail can be sent & received, and any external mail received.  But I cannot send external mail from mailboxes on MAIL2 (just mine on MAIL2 at the minute).  MAIL1 works fine for everything.
Can someone kindly explain what I should do to get all external mail sent through MAIL1?
    Thanks,
    Stacy

    Hi Stacy,
We can just remove mail2 server from the mail2's send connector and add mail1 server to it.
Then we can send mails to outside via mail1.
    Hope it is helpful
    Thanks

  • Removing hub/cas server

    Exchange 2010 sp3, 1 multi-role, 1 DAG (2 hubs, 2 mbs)
a few weeks ago, my DAG included the multi-role server. but due to hd space problems, i wasn't able to add more hd to the multi-role server. only to the 2 mb servers. therefore i removed the multi-role server from DAG membership.
the present DAG (2 hubs, 2 mbs), is working fine. my questions are:
will the multi-role server still be actively involved in the sending and receiving of emails? I've removed it from the send connector.
the multi-role server still shows in Server Configuration / Hub Transport. should i remove it?
EDIT: i will still be needing the multi-role server later on. maybe a few weeks from now.

If it doesn't contain any databases which holds mailboxes you can shut down the server and start the server when needed.
or if it contains database(with active mailboxes) move the mailboxes to active mailbox server(DAG member) and shutdown this server for time being if you wish to as it is not a member of DAG.
As commented above if you dont need it you should do a proper unisntall

  • Sending emails via edge transport server fails

    Hello,
I am using Exchange 2013 edge server in my DMZ to send emails, but it refuses to send messages to Internet. Once I create a Internet send connector on my CAS server, mails are easily sent to the Internet. My edge subscription and sync happened successfully.
As edge server did not send any emails to the Internet, I checked the message queue on my CAS servers and I noticed that my messages are in the message queue on my CAS server. Could you please help me sort out my issue? Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Pooriya
    Pooriya Aghaalitari

    Hi
Can you tell us the last error that you can see in the message queue.
Just run get-edgesynchronization and see the results
What happens if you telnet to edge server fqdn from the cas server on port 25 ?
If nothing helps i would recommend you to remove and recreate the edge subscription file  and see the results.

    http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc3798.txt
The envelope sender address (i.e., SMTP MAIL FROM) of the MDN MUST be
null (<>), specifying that no Delivery Status Notification messages
or other messages indicating successful or unsuccessful delivery are
to be sent in response to an MDN.
You cant change the Exchange behavior, so you will need to fix it on the smarthost server to make it honor the RFC requirement or change what you are using for a smarthost ( Exchange Edge Role perhaps)

  • Exchange 2010 - Send Connector High Availability

    Hi All,
I performed a successful migration a few years back from a single node Exchange 2003 server to a two node Exchange 2010 organisation with a DAG and Kemp load balanced CAS array.  The solution works well and when we simulate a site failure
I am able to get the second node to handle all mail functions.
The one problem I have though is that I have to manually disable the send connector on the primary server in order for the one on the secondary server to be in use.  I should explain that I have two send connectors as I do not want the secondary server
to be used unless the primary server is down or the route is unavailable.  I realise that Exchange 2010 does not know whether the SMTP route is down or not so will just continue trying to use the send connector from the primary server (until I tell it
    not to by disabling it).
My question is how do I get this to happen automatically?  Does anyone else have an example of how this could be done or use a PowerShell script to achieve this?  I guess a script could check the route and disable the send connector on the primary
server if necessary, but how would one do this?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Rob

    Hi,
According to your description, your secondary send connector cannot be automatically used when the first one is down. If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
If yes, I’d like to confirm if the settings of the secondary one is same with the first one and we can check the connectivity logs including diagnostic information for Healthy Server Selector.

  • Impact in removing one of 2 Essbase servers in current 11.1.2.1 platform

    Hello,
Here is what I'm trying to do:
I have Essbase installed on 2 servers and thus registered in Shared Services (epm registry). However, I will need to remove one Essbase server from the current configuration.
I was thinking of uninstalling Essbase from the "unwanted" server, but will the Epm Registry be updated accordingly? will the entries for the uninstalled server disappear from Epm Registry? Or will I need to manually delete these entries?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Andy

I've experienced similiar problems in multiple environments. Even the outline for Sample.Basic was locked. I just stumbled across something that corrected the problem (at least for now :) ). I opened one of my outlines, selected the "*Account*" dimension and then chose to "*sort the children of the selected member in descending order*" (menu option directly above database outline) and somehow that unlocked my outline. Not sure why that solved the problem, but it did.

  • Is send connectors fault tolerant for source servers?

    Hi!
I am in the process of applying SP3 on our Exchange 2010 environment. I have two Hubs that are both specified as source servers in our send connector to the internet. I just want to double check that when I'm applying SP3 to one of the server, that the other
server is taking care of sending all emails.
My fear is that it is only load balancing so every other email will fail to be sent because on of the hubs are down.
So can I safely update one of the servers and mail will be still sent from the other? Or should I just remove it as a source server from the send connector?
I will of course redirect incoming emails to the hub that are up at the moment.
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
Based on my knowledge while doing service pack upgradation on the hub transport severs there is no need to remove that particular server from source server list on the send connectors.
In addition to that mail flow will load balanced across both the hub transport servers listed on the source server list .So on such case if anyone of the server in send connector's source server list is not funtional for the particular point of time then
it will prefer the second funtional server to send emails to internet. Finally i would like to say that there wouldn't be an loss in emails.

I have 4 email accounts in apple Mail.  My mail is sending from the wrong account.  even on "reply" it sends from a different account.  I have 3 gmail accounts and one exchange server account. I choose which account to send from and it still sends from the same gmail account.  Help.

I HAD two accounts because of this problem.  I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client.  Guess what is happening??  That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening.  This is incredibly frustrating.  When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system.  COME ON APPLE!!! WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS???

  • Problem with mail connector example included in Sun ONE application server

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy the sample application "mail connector" provided with the Sun One Application Server 8. the application has a MDB which polls for new messages for a user on the mail server. This application deploys successfully, but while connecting to the fastmail IMAP server, it gives the following exception :

Just wanted to know, whetehr someone out there had tried deploying and running this sample application?
the changes that i made to the ejb-jar.xml file are as follows:
    servername : fastmail.fm
    username : "my username "
    password : "my password"
    folder :Inbox
    protocol :imap
Please let me know the probable reasons it is not able to connect to the mail server.

Did you exhaust the pool-size for the DB; i.e., max-pool-size=32? Can you get a Connection?

  • I want to send data from One server to another

    Hi all,
My requirement to send data from one server's  application server path(data in one directory in Al11 of the source server) to another server's application server(TO another directory in Al11 transaction of the destination server).
What are all the ways to achieve this task.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Raja

While the FTP option mentioned above is workable, both servers should have some form of FTP service running with reference to this solution.
I suggest two more options, just to give you an idea. I am not getting into details as it is important to get the big picture first before working on details.
    1: Through RFC destinations:
You can define two RFc destinations, each pointing to the specific application server. Assuming the server names are SOURCE and TARGET, you can have two RFC destinations where you differentiate the servers by specifying the host name or IP address.
Once the destinations are defined, you need to develop two RFC enabled function module, one will be used to read the file and return it in form of internal table. The other will be get the internal table as input and should save it on server (using abap commands open dataset etc.)
Now you can have an ABAP program where you first call the function which is reading the file. In call function you mention the RFC destination of source server.
Once the file is read, you than call the second function module with destination to target server and save the internal table to a file.
    2: Through Background job programming
While scheduling a background job, you can specify target system which forces the background job to run on that target application server. The basic idea here is to have two abap programs, one would be used to read file and export it to database table like INDX (we can call it ZPRG1), the other will import from the table INDX and write it as a file (we can call it ZPRG2).
Now you can define a job through SM36, using ZPRG1 as program, and target system as the first application server. This job you can schedule to run periodically.
Also define a second job through SM36, using ZPRG2 as program and target system as the second application server. For this job, the starting condition you can put as ‘After completion of job1’.
Another method one can be by using FMs used in tcode SM49 but for that I think your sysadmin might have to create a batch file/script first. Which you can later call from ABAP.
    Cheers.

  • Advisor connector failed to send analysis data to management server

We are using the online advisory server on the servers we can, we continue to get the following on multiple servers - "Advisor connector failed to send analysis data to management server"
Event Description: Failed to upload CAB to management server.

Seems to be mostly servers with cluster resources
Does anyone have any information that would lead us to resolve this?
