Send external email when work item is triggered

Hello,
i have implemented the standard sap workflow for release of purchase requistions.
I would like to introduce a functionality that for the approver with the high spending authorities e.g. the user which are rarely in SAP because it is the CxOs will receive automatically a notification via Lotus notes email system.
What do I have to do in order:
to create and send an email from SAP to Lotus Notes
to only send an email to some approvers (I would like to avoid sending everybody an email, otherwise low level approvers get spammed with approval emails).

Hello,
If you want to just send an email notifying them of workitems, then depending on your version you would use RSWUWFML2 or Extended Notifications.
If you want them to be able to action the PRs then I think that's possible from Lotus Notes, try searching this forum.

You can use extended notifications to send an e-mail message with a link to the workitem. Search for extended notifications in SDN.

Sending an email when passwords are expired?

Hello,
I am a novice in JSP area. What I am working on thesedays is to send an email when a password has been expired. The password will be expired after 60 days. Can I embed the codes in Servlet? Or should I use something else such as Oracle pl/sql?
The thing is the web server is not in my company. I have to send a war file to the office which has the server. So I really want to embed every functions including sending an email into the war file.

Came here to complain about this maddening feature. Why it doesn't save the PDF out to a separate instance of the document is beyond me. PLENTY of us want to save the PDF without the layers, and want the PSD separate.
"Oh good, I've completed this document.... let me just save it out as a PDF for client delivery and... Now all the work is gone."
Genius, Adobe, genius. But it's cool--we'll just keep paying out the nose on a subscription basis with no fix for small errors like this.

ABAP send external email

I use FM SO_OBJECT_SEND to send external email in my Z program but the output always in attachment format, depend on the format i specified (pdf,htm,txt,xls). I want the output to be in standard email body. How to do it?

Can you please send your code or check if you are passing att_cont parameter in your function module. I would suggest you to use SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 function module to send mail.

In Lookout 6.2 how can I send an email when an alarm has deactivated or cleared?

I need to send an email when an alarm has deativated. Such as, AC power fails and the generator is running. Whne the AC power is restored, I want to send an email as well as when the generator stops running. I have created mailer objects to do this based on the data member for each being "false". The problem is, that if the system does a restart then emails go out for all of those data members because they start up as "false" in the normal condition. Anyone have a suggestion?

Simplest way i can think of is a FlipFlop or a latchgate obect to ensure it did start first. Reset the flipflop/latchgate when the email is sent.

i would like to know wat are all the settings required for sending an external mail when a user recieves a work item. i think it can be done by running the program rswuwfml .but wat are all the settings required to be done before running the program .....

Yes I have said that on another thread. I am not asking for points anywhere, I am happy to receive and happier to solve someone's problem.
The issue with this thread is the author obviously has not bothered to do any investigation. I am not for spoon feeding just for the sake of some points, I am willing to help those who do some bit from their end as well who encounter a genuine stumbling block.
My reference to "reward" was with a bit of sarcasm, if you know what that means.

Send External email only when PR's created

i need help in the following workflow scenario
I need to send the external Email (outlook,gmail etc) from workflow on a daily basis..
The body of email should contain the purchase requisitions created for a particular day
if there are no PR's Created ..we should not send an email.
Approve and Reject are not necessary for now...
Please let me know how to approach this scenario..

Hi Madhu,
You need to identify the BO to be used for PR (for Overall PR its BUS2105, Item wise PR its BUS2009).
Check if you can use the existing events else, create a Z-BO, delegate it to std BO and add an event CREATED.
Trigger this event when ever the PR is created.
Use this event as the triggering event of the workflow.
In the workflow add a send mail step to send mail to the desired user email address.
You can also use Action profiles to achieve the same.

Sharepoint Designer Workflow - Send an Email that displays Item Changes

Hi,
I have set up a Sharepoint Designer Workflow that sends an email to the Owner of an item (designated by a column in my list) whenver that item is changed by another user. The workflow looks like this:
If Current Item:Modified by not equals Current Item:Primary Owner
Email Primary Owner
This is set to occur whenever an item is modified.
I would like the email to show what changes were made to the item, similar to how Sharepoint's notifications work. It should show what the field that was changed to trigger the notification contains currently and what it contained previous to the change.
Any help is much appreciated.

out of box there is no option available. But you can implement a solution.
Create a hidden field as multiple line of text. Make it a hidden field so that user cannot enter into this field.
When ever a workflow start check if this field is empty that means item is create now using string manipulation in workflow concatenate the meta data in one workflow variable and save it in this hidden field.
whenevre a workflow is start if hidden field is not empty it means this is an update item scenerio and than you
can have read old values from this field and you have new values in item metadat. format email to get diff.
send email upadte the hidden field again with new meta data.

Sending external email from forms

Hello.
I want to send an email using a form and a report. The report is the attachment of the email. I run the report from form using this command
v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
If i send the mail to an internal address, works properly. If i want to send the email to an external address i have this error:
FRM-41214
Error when running report ORA - 0000: normal, successful completion
I made a check with telnet on my computer and i managed to send an mail to an external address.
Anyone has any idea?

I looked at the logs on the SMTP server, the extern mail doesn't even reach the SMTP server queue.
