Send Invoice as PDF Attachment with variable Filename

Hello!
We got a requirement from one customer. We should send our invoices as PDF-Attachment via E-Mail but the attachment must have a variable filename. At the Moment we can send invoice as PDF-Attachment but only with a fix filename.
How can we change the filename in our Adobe Forms?
Best Regards
Markus

  • Want to Send smartform as pdf attachment with a Email to some mail id

    Hi ,
    I want to send a smartform as a PDF attachment with a mail to a mail id. And I can send a mail with the PDF attachment.
    But I am not able to open the PDF. It is throwing some error (Adobe reader could not open u2018fileu2019 because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example , it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decoded)).
    By debugging I come to know that the file which is generating is in some encoding format.
    Please help me regard this. This is very urgent.

  • InDesign export to single PDF files with variable Filename

    Hi there,<br /><br />I create a document with Data Merge which contains about 200 Pages. Now i want to export each page to a single PDF-File. Also the filename has to be generated from the placed content. The placed content are adresses. So i want to generate a filename with a static name. I got an ID, a static phrase and then a ZIP-Code. The Filename should look like this: <ID>September<ZIP Code>.pdf while ID and ZIP Code are fields from the datamerge.

    what you need is to operate throuh a loop.<br />for(i=0; i<app.activeDocument.pages.length;i++)<br />{<br /> //Assuming you labelled the textframe containing the ID with ID<br /> var myID = app.activeDocument.pages[i].textFrames.item("ID").contents;<br />//Assuming you labelled the textframe containing the ZIP with ZIP<br /> var myZip = app.activeDocument.pages[i].textFrames.item("ZIP").contents;<br /><br />var myPath = //something like "/disk/folder/" //Set a path to where you want to export the pdf<br />var myFileName = myID + myPath + myZip + ".pdf";<br />//Export to PDF - the forum is full of examples, you should find easily what you are asking for with search<br />} <br /><br />Loic

  • Convert XSTRING to PDF Format and Send it as an attachment with work-item

    I have an Adobe Form data available in the ECC system in XSTRING format. In one of my ABAP methods (used by a custom workflow task), i want to convert the XSTRING data in PDF format and send it as an attachment with a work-item. How best can this be done?
    Appreciate any ideas,
    Saurabh

    Hi Saurabh,
    if u want to download pdf which is in xstring format to u r local system
    u can try the following code.
    data: data_tab type table of x255.
    call function 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
    exporting
    buffer = XString data
    tables
    binary_tab = data_tab.
    cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download(
    exporting
    filename = filename
    filetype = 'BIN'
    changing
    data_tab = data_tab ).
    cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute(
    exporting
    document = filename ).

  • How do I create an interactive PDF file with variable data

    We would like to basically do a 'mail merge' of our list of customers with an interactive PDF file (including videos, menus, etc - not just form fill out and web links) to create a single PDF file that contains multiple mail pieces ... one for each customer ... with each mail piece being customized for that customer.  Customizations would include different greetings (Dear Bob, Dear Dana, etc), as well as different charts based on data unique to the customer, different photographs, etc.
    I've seen that InDesign and Acrobat Professional can be used to create an interactive PDF (such as from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/ask-the-adobe-ones/14-calling-rufus-about-interactive-pdf-making).  However I don't understand how I can insert data from a database, csv file, excel file etc into the PDF file so that each page, or each set of pages, within the PDF can be customized.
    Can anyone point me to a tool to use for this?
    Thanks,
    Bob Kendall

    For that kind of volume and unattended operation, you want InDesign Server – which is the server/high volume edition of INDD.

  • Outlook2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Reader 11

    Problem statement: Outlook 2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Environment: Windows 8 x64; Office 2013; Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Open Outlook 2013
    2. Open email message with PDF attachment
    3. Open PDF attachment (with Adobe Reader as default PDF viewer)
    4. Close Adobe Reader
    Results: Original email message with PDF attacment now sits behind the main Outlook window
    Expected results: Original email message should be on top of main Outlook window as it was when opening the PDF attachment
    Note: Adobe Acrobat Profession performs as expected - the original email is on top of the main Outlook window - This only seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.
    Has anyone else experience this problem?  If so, have you found a work-around?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    From: new window opens behind existing window - how to modify?
    I had this problem happening in Outlook.
    If I tried to open an email, it would open behind the main Outlook window.
    The same happened if I opened a link in the email - it would open behind the mail.
    The fix that was suggested to me was so simple that I still don't believe it.
    Right click on the task bar and unlock the taskbar, then lock it again.
    Close down Outlook and re-start it.
    Problem solved! Just dont know how  or why.

    It worked for me with Win 7 and OL 2003. Why? Who cares ... It is working.

  • Sending mail attachment with long filename in 4.6C

    Hi everyone,
    Our requirement needs to have a custom program to send a mail with a pdf attachment, which we have managed to work so far.  The problem is that the filename is 37characters long, which is absolutely necessary.  For example, my pdf filename can be
    072346843023332201_20100720_120101.pdf
    In the function that we used, SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, the field where the filename is stored (field SOPCKLSTI1-OBJ_NAME) is only 12 characters long.  This poses a problem when we try to attach the pdf file.
    So my question is if there is an alternative function module or way that we can attach the pdf with the file name still complete?  The SAP version that we are using is 4.6C.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sending XI-Content as Mail Attachement with specific Filename

    Hi,
    I want to send the Message-Content as a mail attachment with a specific Filename (e.g. 2005-08-31.csv). The content is a CSV File, not a XML
    In the scenario an IDOC is sent to the XI mapped in a CSV-File (via Java-Mapping) and should be send as a Mail Attachment.
    Is this possible and how?
    Thank you for your help
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
    You can influence the filename with the ModuleTransformBean. You need at least SP9 for this feature.
    In the Mail Receiver Channel got to tab "Module"
    As first module (before the mail module) enter:
    localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean as Local Enterprise Bean with any key
    For this module key you can use in the module configuration following entries:
    Transform.ContentDisposition inline|attachment;filename=<filename>
    Transform.ContentDescription <Filename>
    Transform.ContentType <MimeType>/<SubType>;name="<filename>"
    If you want to send an attachment, use:
    Transform.ContentDisposition attachment;filename="MyFile.csv"
    Transform.ContentDescription MyFile
    Transform.ContentType text/plain;name="MyFile.csv"
    If you use the Mail Package, you can set the file name that way:
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
      <Subject>Hello</Subject>
      <From>[email protected]</From>
      <To>[email protected]</To>
      <Content_Type>text/plain;name="MyFile.csv"</Content_Type>
      <Content>Here comes the CSV Data</Content>
    </ns:Mail>
    Hope that helps,
    Stefan

  • Sending payslip as a PDF attachment with an email

    Hi Experts,
    I need to send an email with payslip as a PDF attachment. I wonder how this can be done for country China. The payroll driver program seems doesn't helps to send an email. Can any one tell me, if this can be achieved directly, else will have to write a code for the same.
    Thanks.
    Warm regards,
    Harshad. M

    Hi,
               Here two Z-program needs to be develop.One program is to convert payslip into PDF file & store the PDF file in a folder where you send as an E-Mail.
    Then create a spool request in Remunation statement. Maintain the Mail id's in Inftype-105.
    Develop one Z program which will Send Email with PDF attachment.
    Run this program  the second screen will display where you have to attach the spool request no & the mail ID. Then execute the program to send as email.

  • Sending PO in mail attachment with pdf format

    Hello,
    We are sending PO to vendor in a pdf attachment. The configuration is in place and as soon as the PO(ME22N) is saved the pdf mail is sent to vendor external mail address.
    The requirement however is to add some text to this mail body ( in addition to the existing PDF attachment ).
    The NACE config is using SAPFM06P program with entry_neu form and a custom sap script.
    can somebody help as where is this mail functionality added in this standard program so that I may try to customize the same for the above requirement.
    All I can see is 2 FM used in this ENTRY_NEU Form. Of which I guess ME_PRINT_PO is sending the mail ( I may be wrong here ) but where ?
    I will be thankful for any kind of hint to help solve this issue.

    In general you will have to do the following:
    1) Set NAST-NACHA = 8 (Special function)
    2) Before OPEN_FORM (maybe in In enhancement spot) if NAST-NACHA = 8, then set itcpo-tdgetotf = 'X' (to get OTF back from CLOSE_FORM!)
    3) During CLOSE_FORM, if NAST-NACHA = '8', get OTF output from TABLES parameter OTFDATA
    4) Convert this OTF output to PDF using following sample code:
    data: I_PDF STRUCTURE  TLINE occurs 0,
            I_OTF i_otf LIKE itcoo OCCURS 0.
        CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'
             EXPORTING
                  format                = 'PDF'
                  max_linewidth         = 134
             IMPORTING
                  bin_filesize          = w_bytes
             TABLES
                  otf                   = i_otf
                  lines                 = i_pdf
             EXCEPTIONS
                  err_max_linewidth     = 1
                  err_format            = 2
                  err_conv_not_possible = 3
                  OTHERS                = 4.
    5) Send email with PDF attachment using the method(s) mentioned in one of these excellent blogs:
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/07/sending-e-mail-from-abap--version-46d-and-lower--api-interface
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/08/sending-e-mail-from-abap--version-610-and-higher--bcs-interface
    or you can follow below procedure as well:
    I suggest you make yourself very familiar with the SAP code that does this automatically. Once you understand the processing sequence SAP uses, it is much easier to add your customization and insert your enhancements. To debug it and step through the code, but a breakpoint in ENTRY_NEU, and process a PO. If you're sending your messages using a scheduled job, you'll hit the breakpoint when you process the message using RSNAST00. That's how I did it. I can tell you what I did to meet my requirements. You can change to meet your needs. It required a custom program, to use instead if ENTRY_NEU, and 3 enhancements to SAP code using the Enhancement Framework. You need to know how to use the framework. 1. configure your output type ZNE2 to to run a new program ZMRP_OUTCTRL, to run form routine ENTRY_ZNE2, to create form Z_PURCHASE_ORDER. 2. In ZMRP_OUTCTRL, call standard function modules, ME_READ_PO_FOR_PRINT and ME_PRINT_PO. 3. Drill down into ME_PRINT_PO to PREPARE_FORMULAR function module. Create new enhancement, and if NAST-KSCHL = ZNE2, then lookup the recipient's email address. Pass it as parameter to ADDR_GET_NEXT_COMM_TYPE. 4. Still in ME_PRINT_PO, PREPARE_FORMULAR, add another enhancement to set the value of itcpo-getotf to u2018Xu2019, to enable CLOSE_FORM to capture OTF data for PDF. Only set this OTF flag when the output is being run by RSNAST00, not when a user is simply previewing the printout. Sy-ucomm will be blank when RSNAST00 is running. 5. In ME_PRINT_PO, drill down to ENDE, and add an enhancement to check for NAST-KSCHL = ZNE2, and if so, call standard SAP function modules to END_FORM, START_FORM, WRITE_FORM, and END_FORM. Next call the function CLOSE_FORM, and set table parameter to capture the OTF_DATA as a table parameter OTF_DATA. 6. If OTF_DATA is found, then: If nast-kschl = 'ZNE2'. if NOT otf_data[] is initial. gs_OTF[] = otf_data[]. CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF' EXPORTING format = 'PDF' IMPORTING bin_filesize = v_len_in TABLES otf = gs_otf lines = gt_pdf EXCEPTIONS err_max_linewidth = 1 err_format = 2 err_conv_not_possible = 3 OTHERS = 4. • Send Quotation Output as PDF attached with Quotation output

    Hi All,
    We have developed one smartform and also have the print report assigned to it. It is working fine but now the customer want the quotation to be sent as a PDF attachement.
    Please let us know if you want any further information.
    Regards,
    Swapnil

    Hi,
    I can think of these options. Please explore on the possibilities.
    1) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report. Get the List output from memory. Convert the Data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.
    2)  Create a smartform which will be called in your report. Convert the returned data to PDF and then send the PDF as attachment in mail.
    3) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report thorugh a JOB. Wait for the JOB to be completed. Convert the ABAP Spool data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

  • Automator for PDF merge with variable

    Hi - very new to automator, but now very motivated to find a solution to this annoying problem.
    I have to scan expense receipts each week and upload them 1 by 1 into a client time & expense system. I don't think Automator can help me with this one.
    A second system requires all the expense receipts to be merged into a PDF and a 3rd copy emailed to an approver.
    This is what I would like automator to do:
    From my Expenses folder, where all my individual PDF's are located
    I select all my distinct PDF's for a particular week
    Using an automator service, right click style
    Using 'Ask for Text', I would enter the "Week of"
    My selected PDF's are merged into 1 PDF, with the name = "Week of <VAR>"
    Mail starts (can't figure out how to use Gmail in a browser in Automator)
    Creates a message to the approver guy with the merged attachment from #5 above
    Sends the message
    Quits Mail
    I can get the automator to run without the variables trick...but it really would save a lot of time if I could just key it in once (instead of #filename, #email subject, #body of the message).
    I also tried looking up the UUID for the variable and inserting it into the email body and subject line - but it didn't take.
    Can anyone help with this?
    Many thanks
    bforeste

    Can't help you with automator, but you can create an app with the applescript below that will do what you want.
    Procedure:
    1. Open the Applescript Editor by typing Apples in the spotlight search field and hitting 'return' on your keyboard.
    2. Copy the entire script below and paste it into the Editor window.
    3. Hit 'Command-K' on the keyboard and ensure there are no compiler errors. If there are, please look at the script and see if one part of it was highlighted. Report back what part of the script was highlighted and any error messages.
    If the compile didn't produce an error, then:
    4. Hit 'Command-S' on the keyboard, choose a snazzy name ("PDF merger" or something...) and a location to save it in (your Apps or Desktop folders).  Be sure to change the 'File Format:' to Application at the bottom of the Save screen before hitting 'Save'.
    5. The first time you run the app (you run it by double-clicking on it, like any other App), you'll be asked to put in the details manually. On subsequent runs, it will fill in the defaults for you. I haven't set up the default locations for looking and searching for the files as I'm not sure where they would be on your system. I can do that if you tell me the path from your 'home' or user directory.
    Also note, I've written the script so that it doesn't send the message until you've reviewed it. i.e., you might want to double check you've attached the correct file, or add a message. If you want it to send automatically without review change the following lines near the end of the script:
    change the line 'set visible to true' to 'set visible to false'
    change the line 'save' to 'send'

  • Send smartform as pdf attachment through Email on ECC 5.0

    I have been trying hard to do this, but am not able to send attachment. Below are the problems -
    1. If sometimes the mail goes, the attachment is empty.
    2. if i use COMMIT_WORK = 'X' in FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 , it throws a dump - ' Invalid COMMIT WORK in an update function module.'
    3. If i comment COMMIT_WORK = 'X', it gets executed successfully but, in the program i get a dump 'UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CHAR' exception.
    Can someone suggest, what settings are required in SAP to send smartforms as PDF attachments. Also, please suggest how can i remove the dump. If anyone can give me a working program, it will be very very helpful.
