Send score of flash animation in a slide of captivate 6.

Hi,
I want to insert a slide captivate named January 1 swf flash animation in which a score appears at the end of this swf animation. I will wish that captivate gets this score and place it on the slide named 2. Do you know how? I guess it must be programmed into the flash animation but what code returned for captivate know to interpret it?

You may be able to use some of the original code.  A widget is also an SWF.  It just has certain code that Captivate requires in order for Cp to see it as a widget.
You can either use Adobe's widget templates (see their Help doco) or you can use the WidgetFactory API by Tristan the Widget King:

  • Embedded Flash Animation Won't Pause with Slide; Gray Screen on Resume

    Hello,
    We've added a Flash animation to a slide but when the we pause that slide, the animation keeps playing. Furthermore, when we resume, the whole movie goes gray.
    Extra: this slide also has audio. We could add it to the animation, that's not a problem, but the animation needs to work first!
    Thanks!

    It was not the embedded animation that turned gray but the whole slide!
    Since the original animation was from Captivate, we just copied the slides instead of trying to embed the swf. Our immediate needs are thus fulfilled. However, in the future, we will try the animation as a slide background if we need to do something similar.
    (Unfortunately, I cannot share the animation because of corporate policy.)
    Note: The question has not been answered but I marked it as answered because I no longer need an answer.

  • How do I get Flash animated slide shows to work on iPads, iPods, and iPhones?

    How do I get Flash animated slide shows to work on iPads, iPods, and iPhones?
    I'm using a PC. Web Site Flash generated slide show works fine on PC's.
    Does not work on Apple platforms.
    What do I use to to enable animated slide shows to work on Apple platforms?
    cliffordf51127948

    Hello,
    Flash Player is only supported on Apple OS X systems (10.6 - 10.10).  It is not, and has never been, supported on any i-Devices.  There are no plans to support these platforms.

  • Flash animation/click and mini slide problem

    Hi,
    we have made a roll over effect with flash and put inot
    Captivate as a single object. This works fine. When using a roll
    over box on this object, the flash animation still works. When we
    made a copy of the flash animation object and want to use another
    Captivate effect, such as the mini slide on the other animation
    object, then the flash animation does not work anymore for both
    objects.
    Any idea?
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus
    Yes, you may have two different objects on a slide. I saw
    something interesting the other day in one of my Captivate classes.
    The attendee had inserted two different slidelets. They both
    worked. She had inserted the second slidelet rollover area in a
    spot the first slidelet covered. She coaxed the user to mouse over
    the rollover trigger for the second slidelet from inside the first
    slidelet. It worked.
    You may also have multiple Rollover Captions and Rollover
    Images on a slide. Image Buttons are another type of "Rollover"
    effect in that different images are swapped in and out as needed
    when mousing over or clicking the buttons.
    So the bottom line here is to say that indeed multiple
    rollover effects do work in Captivate.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Flash animation playing way to fast in slides

    Hello all,
    I imported a flash AS3 annimation in captivate 8, but the animaton plays faster than it should. Is there anyway that i could get it to the normal speed as when i play it in a flash palyer ?
    thanks in advance.

    Default speed in Captivate is 30FPS, check the framerate of your SWF animation, probably it is lower (default is 24fps). Either you change the framerate of the Flash animation up to 30, or you lower the framerate in Captivate to the same value as the animation before publishing. You can find the framerate in Preferences, Project, Publish Settings

  • Flash animation doesn't work when I publish Captivate file

    Hi,
    I have an e-learning developed by a third party using Captivate 6, they've inserted animations (swf files) created using Flash CS6. When I try publishing the Captivate file on my computer all the animations work well except for a particular one (a wheel that spins and asks questions).
    When I publish the Captivate file and go to that particular slide and click anywhere other than this animation the whole thing freezes (this doesn't happen on other slides with the other animation/quizzes developed using Flash CS6 on the same project). However, when the developer publishes the same file on their machine it works well.
    I don't have Flash CS6 installed on my machine (I only have Flash CS4 and can't open the animation/swf files), I asked someone else (that had Flash CS6) to try publishing the Captivate file and had the same issue I had.
    Has anyone had this issue before? how can I fix it?
    Thanks!

    Since you are loading another SWF file into your main root timeline and want to transfer control to the loaded SWF you need to call _lockroot on the container that holds the loaded content since you are using _root. Like this:
    myMCLMain.loadClip("flashSite.swf", "container2");
    container2._lockroot = true; //Add this line after loadClip
    Or you can remove the _root in the loaded SWF.

  • Flash Animation Frame Rate

    Hi -
    I just put a flash animation (which I made in Flash Pro CS6) in a Cp 5 slide (which I've done countless times), but for some reason, when I adjust the frame rate in Flash, it doesn't adjust it in Cp.
    Right now my animation is too fast for the audio in the Cp slide, and I want to slow it down by reducing the frame rate.
    Does anyone know how to do this or why what I'm doing isn't working?
    Thanks in advance.

    Wiezzy,
    I was wondering, why not put the audio in the Flash file...this way, you would have total control over synching the audio to the animation...and, as long as your audio publish settings are the same as the Captivate file, there should be NO differentiation in audible performance...in other words, the Flash SWF and the Captivate SWF should sound identical.
    And to answer your previous question, I'm fairly certain that the Captivate and Flash SWFs run at there published framerates independently...so if you put a Flash animation that was authored at 10fps...Captivate wouldn't up speed to 30fps...
    It's all about resources and performance...two SWFs with two different framerates use more resources...which is why you'd want your Flash SWFs destined for Captivate projects at 30fps...

  • Captivate 5.5 is setting a Mastery Score in the Manifest when using Slide Views

    We have encountered a problem with Captivate 5.5 where it is setting the Mastery Score in the manifest to match the Quiz score setting even though we are only using slide views to track completion.  This is a problem because if we set the score to zero, our Saba LMS will immediately grant the user credit for the course on the first slide.  If we set the score higher than zero, the user will never get credit for the course as Captivate doesn't send a score to the LMS when using slide views to track completion.  Our LMS seems to ignore the status passed by the course once the Mastery Score is set.  We have compared the manifest behavior in 5.0 and it does NOT set the Mastery Score.  We can edit the manifest prior to loading in the LMS but this is a hassle and we'd like to figure out a way to permanently change the behavior to no longer set Mastery Score when using Slide Views to track completion.

    Hi,
    I believe the easiest way to do this is to edit the manifest.xml file in the Captivate Templates folder.  I posted instructions on doing that here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/956390?tstart=0
    Hope this solves your issue.  V

  • Stock flash animations act hyperactive?

    Cp5 question.
    Recently upgraded to Cp5 (used Cp4 for about a year) and I've been exploring and testing to better understand everything..  I found the 'canned' flash animations packaged with the application and I was building a library of them so they're easier to browse through and find what I want.
    However... a couple of the items behave a little strangely during preview and after publish, most notably the 'bend arrow' and the 'shiver' arrow.  If I simply 'play' the slide, they look great.  However, if I do a prevew project, next 5 slides, from this slide, etc, and after publishing, the bend arrow flashes so quickly I'm afraid I'll give people seizures.  The shiver arrow sits and does nothing.
    I tried fiddling with the timing of the object both in relation to the slide and on it's own, and I didn't see any other options in the properties that seemed to calm it down.
    Any suggestions on how to make these little guys sit still and behave?
    Thanks-

    Captivate 5 is ActionScript 3 yes...but I just took a look at the down.FLA file for the Shiver Arrow animation as installed with Cp5 in the Gallery folder and guess what, it was ActionScript 1.  That's not a typo. I kid you not.  It was Flash Player 6 AS1.
    I had heard CpGuru mention a week or more ago that some of the animations shipped with Cp5 were AS2, but I was certainly NOT expecting to find any AS1 files.  And it's not a case of just changing the setting in Flash to output the FLA as an AS3 SWF.  It throws errors complaining about deprecated properties, which is to be expected since AS1 is a dinosaur programming language.
    This might explain the wierd behaviour of your arrows.  I think it's definitely something Adobe should address by providing a download of AS3 upgraded animations on their blog site.

  • How to email a flash animation

    I am trying to email a flash animation to our sales force. I
    cannot seem to make this work. The only way that works is making it
    an animated gif. However, when I do this, it looks more like an
    illustration and my text gets all outta whack. I have read that you
    can put it on a server. I am not sure how to do this. Do I have to
    have a web site?

    Then dzedward's solution is the route you need to go.
    Upload the .swf to a server, place the address for the .swf
    file in your email, and then send the email. Send the email to
    yourself first to ensure that it's working properly.
    Be warned though, many people have the security settings on
    their email client set such that .swf files are blocked from
    appearing in an email. Make sure you warn the client about this,
    and suggest adjusting their security settings to allow the content
    through if necessary.

  • Choppy Flash Animation - Mac issue??

    I have attempted, with no luck, to get an answer to the following question on adobe.com and flashkit.com. I'm hoping there may be a "Mac" solution. When I attempt to view Flash files either locally or on the www, my machine comes to a virtual crawl; not just the Flash animation, but every app that is open at the time. And, this happens regardless of the browser that I use (Safari, Firefox or IE). I purchased a product called "Cocktail" and ran all applicable fixes on there. I also ran disk utilities from my startup disk which found some errors and repaired all. I uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled the latest version. I trashed a ton of useless files to see if freeing up disc space would help. It didn't. I can view Flash files just fine on my daughter's little PC with 500+ megs of RAM, but my 4 gig dual processor G5 never gets up to speed. This problem just seems to have started within the last week. Again I emphasize that the computer behaves the same when I run the Flash file(s) locally, so I've ruled out this being an "internet" issue. Plus, my daughter's computer is on the same network and runs these files fine. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I run a web design business from my home, and need to have my machine screamin' to keep the checks coming in.
    Thanks in advance -

    Check your Activity Monitor once and see what your CPU usage is doing. Also, try running Xbench and see what your graphic score is. Compare scores here.

  • Flash animation doesn't display on firefox

    I have three flash banners embedded with swfobject in a javascript slider (jquery bxslider plugin). Each banner has three ActionScript ExternalInterfaces:
    * calling restartBanner() from JavaScript restarts the animation so that I can restart it whenever the slide is selected
    * calling stopFlash() stops the animation
    * on the last frame of each banner, bannedEnd() is called so that I know when to proceed to the next banner
    Everything seems to be working correctly in Safari and Chrome, but in Firefox the last (third) banner doesn't seem to start playing. The weird thing is that even though you can't see the animation (it simply displays the first frame), at some point bannerEnd() is called, so internally the flash animation is working.
    At first I thought it's because the container with the banner is not visible and tried modifying the slide's DOM in hope of triggering a re-render and forcing the browser to start the animation (as seen in onSlideAfter method), but that didn't help. I don't have much experience with flash and couldn't find any relevant solutions or similar problems online, so I don't really know where to look.
    It's also not the issue of the one particular banner - if you change the order, the problem persists with the last (third) banner.
    I isolated the code from the rest of the page and it can be seen here: https://pang.fraktal.ee/~stepan/flash_banner_issue/
    As I said, the issue seems to only be with the Firefox browser, so it seemed appropriate to seek help here.

    Hi Stalaryn,
    Thank you for your question, I understand that you have three flash banners on your website.
    In your test the title and the span are different, but the active class is working. Its just that last div that is not loading. As well as the data target in the last tile is not as specific as the others, is it the url of the swf file? I can understand the frustration here.
    Can you please file a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org under web compatibility with reference to your silder?

  • How to add a flash animation into another flash presentation? Help!!!

    I made an animation and I am wanting to add it to a flash portfolio that I am now creating. I am creating the portfolio so I can send it to potential employers. I am new to Flash but not to Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. I am adding several different files from those other programs to the porfolio and want to add a few Flash creations also.So how can I easliy bring the Flash animations into the Presentation? I want the animation to play in the same timeline but I don't want to have to recreate the whole thing or recreate the portfolio. What type of file format does the animation need to be to play? Can this be done?

    In AS2 you can use loadmovie to load a .swf into another .swf.

    In AS3, something like this:

  • Controlling Captivate variable values with AS2 Flash animation

    I created a couple of simple Pause/Resume Flash AS2 buttons to manipulate the Captivate playback using the following script:
    on (release) {
    _parent._parent.rdcmndResume = 1;
    on (release) {
    _parent._parent.rdcmndPause = 1;
    The buttons work as intended if their "Display for:" values are set to "Rest of project".  The buttons seem to have no effect on the Captivate playback if "Display for:" is set to any thing else.
    The problem is that I hoped to only show the buttons when I want the user to pause or resume the Captivate timeline.  However, for some reason which I do not understand, they do not work when their "Display for:" value is set to "specific time".
    Any ideas why the buttons behave the way they do or ideas on how to make them do what I wish they would do?

    Hi Pra MMartin,
    When 'Display for:' is selected as rest of project/ duration of animation, the swf loader will be placed on the timeline of the Captivate swf.
    When 'Display for:' is selected as specific time/ rest of slide, the swf loader will be placed inside the slide (slide is placed on the timeline of Captivate swf).
    So try this when 'Display for:' is specific time/rest of slide:
    on (release) {
    _parent._parent._parent.rdcmndResume = 1;
    on (release) {
    _parent._parent._parent.rdcmndPause = 1;
    Hope this helps.

  • Advice for flash animation and audio

    Just wondered if anyone could give me advice on the
    following:
    I have a music score in flash with an animated bar to show
    the position in the score during playback. The audio track is
    included with the flash file before I import it into Director.
    Is this the best method to run audio and flash together or
    does running the flash movie and audio track seperately have any
    advantages.
    regards
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    That behavior will let you set a Flash sprite's member to be
    paused or
    not. I don't know that this has anything to do with what you
    want to do.
    You can't directly change the volume of a flash .swf from
    Director. You
    can use sprite(X).stopAllSounds() to stop the sound in a
    Flash .swf in
    Director, but there's no start available. A Flash .swf has a
    sound
    property, but that will only toggle the sound of an .swf off
    and on, and
    only applies after the sound has finished. The change will be
    used at
    the next play of the .swf.
    You can use the soundLevel property of Director to control
    the volume of
    the whole Director movie. If you have no other sounds playing
    when the
    .swf is running, you can use this property to control volume.
    It's
    pretty coarse, it only allows for 7 levels of volume change.
