Sender adapter processing based on done file content

hi
sender system creates a done file, after the creating of actual file. SAP PO 7.4 first need to read the done file for the list of files to be processed from the same folder.
for eg:
source folder files:
xxx11092014.xml
yyy11092014.xml
zzz10092014.xml
done11092014.xml
content of done file:
<files>
xxx11092014.xml
zzz10092014.xml
<files>
In SAP PO 7,4 first need to read the done file, based on the content of the file xxx11092014.xml & zzz10092014.xml need to be processed in sap po and
all the three file xxx11092014.xml, zzz10092014.xml & done11092014.xml need to be deleted. leaving behind the yyy11092014.xml for which new done file will be created..
Could anyone please throw some light on this scenario to implement???

Hi,
Please check below steps helpful for your requirement by creating two flows and additional files.
Interface1: This interface to read the filenames from done*.xml and generate the additional files with same name with different extension like xxx11092014.txt and zzz10092014.txt for interface2 to pick.
1. Configure your sender CC to pick file done*.xml
2. Use multimapping to create multiple messages based on how many files under <files>
3. Create additional files in receiver file adapter with same name with different extension by using variable substitution.
One IDOC to Multiple Files sending to Multiple folders of the FTP using single Communication Channel (SAP XI-PI Process …
Interface2: This interface to pick files having only additional files with same namepart
1. Configure your sender CC to pick files having additional files by enabling Additional Files

  • FILE SENDER ADAPTER -  TO GET A DINAMIC FILE NAME IN THE DIRECTORY

    Hi,
         Please help me.
I have to read by a file sender adapter a specific file in the directory that its name is Dyyyymmdd, where yyyymmdd is variable according with the current day:
         D      - fixed letter
yymmdd - year, month and day of the current day.
I cant´t use D* in the File Name Scheme because I must read only the one file generated in the day.
How can I configure my file sender adapter to read this especific file in the directory?
          Thanks in advance.
          Mider.

    Hi Krishna,
I must access only one file by time ( of the current day ), but in the directory I have a lot of them of different dates. I mean, in the of the read ( in the adapter configuration ) , I need to configure the name of the file Dyyyymmdd before of the reading in the directory, in other words, I need to construct the name of file (withe the current date) before the communication channel access the file to read it.
I think that OS command just can be applicated in file receivers, but if possible, at your purpose, how can I access the name of this especific file via OS command for senders?
        Thanks,
             Mider.

  • FTP Sender Adapter - Processing Sequence

Does anybody know what the processing sequence of files is when I using a ftp sender adapter? I can only determine this if I use a file sender adapter (NFS).

    Hi,
in  sender file ( FTP ) adapter:
    when qos  :eoio
the sequence the msg processess will be in ascending alphabetical order.
ex: if i have 10 files in a folder
as per the my requirement all the 10 files are picked up at the same time, then
the files will be arranged in queue specified in ascending alphabetical order and processed in the same order.
but, when i use QOS: EO
the same thing is going to happen right!!
picks all the files , processess in ascending alphabetical order to xi..
then what is the use of queue here in eoio???
    on the other hand,
in  sender file ( NFS ) adapter:
file will be processed based on the processing sequence( either by date or time ).
so both EO and EOIO use the processing sequence... then wat is the work of queue here in EOIO MODE.. any way they are processed according to the proccessing sequence parameter.. ???
    Please reply..

  • How to put a delay between Sender Adapter processing ?

    Hi,
I'm using FTP type and I schedule the sender each 1hour. In that time, plenty of file has been added into the source folder.
The files are like this <file_name_###>.txt where the ### are a incremental number. PI can takes all of them in order thanks to this patern : <file_nme>*.txt, but when processing it takes all the file in one time.
I would like to put a delay between each file. Is it possible ?
    Kind regards
    Joseph BERTHE

    Hi Joseph,
I need it because the receiver is a RFC adapter so I call a BAPI. But I want a unique call. So When the first file is eaten by PI it executes the BAPI, but during that time no one can execute that same BAPI. So I want to put a delay between each file.
    > Delay between Sender Adpter Processing will not be possible .
But you can make the Interface work in EOIO fashion . by that your inputs will be processed one after the other .
Make the parameter "Quality of Service"- Exactly Once in order at your sender adapter level for this.
EOIO (Exactly Once In Order): Here Messages are delivered with the same queue name as in the same sequence that they were sent from the sender system. Message processing will be asynchronous in this case.

  • FTP Receiver Adapter is completly ignoring the file content conversionurn..

    Hi,
i'm picking up a flat file using the NFS adapter, the payload in the message monitoring looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <ns:MT_FILE xmlns:ns="urn:......">
    <Record>
    <Line>100221120100000000000000</Line>
    <Line>100221120100000000000000</Line>
    </Record>
    </ns:MT_FILE>
I'm now writing this to an ftp server, message protovol is set to File Content Conversion and the conversion parameters are set to this:
    Line.addHeaderLine     1
    Line.fieldSeparator     #
    Record.fieldContentFormatting     nothing
    Line.fieldContentFormatting     nothing
    Record.fieldSeparator     *
looks realy weired and is not really what is needed but i changed the parameters dramatically, but none of those conversion parameters are taken in effect.
The resulting files always looks the same, nor do i get a header line nor do i get the "weired" newline characters. i'm alway getten nl/0X0A as line separator.
    What do i miss?

    > You need to do content conversion for the nodes, not for the recordset.Remove Record conversion parameters and try.
This is wrong. It is the other way:
    Use parameter
    Record.addHeaderLine     1
When you want to have a different end-of-line cjaracter, you have to use the correct parameter
    Record.endSeparator
Sometimes it really helps to look in online help.

  • FTP Sender Adapter with EOIO for Large files

    Hi Experts,
I am Using XI 3.0 version,
My scenario is File->XI->FIle, I need to pick the files from FTP Server , there are around 50 files in it each of 10 MB Size.
So i have to pick the files from FTP folder in the same order as they put into folder , i,e.., FIFO.
So in Sender FTP Comm channel , i am Specifying
    Qos = EOIO
    queue name =  ACCOUNT
whether the files will be picked in FIFO into the queue XBTO_ACCOUNT?
      So my question is,
what is the procedure to specify the parameters so that it will process in FIFO?
What would be the BEST PRACTICE to acheive it for better performance point of view.
    Thanks
    Sai.

    Hi spantaleoni ,
I want to process the files using FTP protocol which should be in FIFO ,
ie.., Files placed first in a folder should be picked up first and remaining one next and so on.
So if i use FTP ,
Then to process the files in sequence i.e, FIFO
    the processing parameters
    Qos= EOIO
    Queue name = ACCOUNT
would process the files in FIFO.
and to process large files (10MB size) what would be the best  Polling interval secs.
    Thanks,
    Sai

  • File Sender Adapter Skip first line in file

    Hello to all,
I'm trying to read a file (nfs) using the file adapter.
The szenario works fine, but I need to skip the first line in the txt file (header line)
I tried parameter documentSkipFirstRows, without success.
    Any ideas?
    Regards Christian

    Hi Kaiser,
    May be the syntax problem.
    use like this...
    xml.documentSkipFirstRows     1
    Syntax is
    xml.documentSkipFirstRows=<noOfRows>

  • File sender adapter (FTP) - processing mode "Archive"

    Hello all
We're polling files from an external FTP server. For this I created a scenario on XI according to this thread:
When setting processing mode to "Archive" in the file sender adapter (ftp) it polls the file, stores it to the archive directory I specified and then tries to delete the file on the FTP server side. This returns me an error because we're not allowed to delete the retrieved files on the FTP server!
Because of this error the file adapter stops further processing and does not poll all the other files.
How can I disable this deletion mechanism while keeping processing mode to "Archive"?!?!?
We do not want to use processing mode "Delete" or "Test" and we don't see other options to influence this behaviour.
Thanks for any guideance on this one in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Bhavesh
Sorry for the late answer. Unfortunately I can't ask the application system to provide file names containing a timestamp within. The files are provided by an external partner and are retrieved by several others as well.
In the meantime I managed to achieve this:
In repository I created dummy data types, message types and message interfaces. No mapping programs and interface mappings!
In configuration I created the necessary communication channels (1 ftp sender, 1 file receiver) and the required receiver and interface determinations as well as the sender and receiver agreements.
    The result of this is:
I'm able to poll some specific files via ftp from remote host. The file names are file1.arj, file2.arj, file3.arj and file4.arj. All 4 files have the same SourceFileTimestamp (e.g. "20060727T053900Z").
I'm able to store those 4 files 1:1 in a target directory with the same file names. Until here I did NOT need to follow this blog: <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14: The same filename from a sender to a receiver file adapter - SP14</a>.
As of this blog it is possible to access adapter specific attributes and make them available in message mapping using user defined functions. This way I'm able to get the SourceFileTimestamp from the polled files and use it in a message mapping. This way I'm also able to use it in variable substitution on file receiver adapter (syntax = "payload:root,1,fileTS,1") in order to dynamically create a directory with this syntax: YYYYMMDD.
So far so good... but the only remaining BIG problem now is, that as soon as the mapping is activated and assigned in the interface determination, the created files contain the XML payload instead of the original binary content. Where has it gone? How should the target message type look like so that it can carry over the original binary file content?
BTW: isn't it possible to post screenshots? Would be much more easier to explain things... so sorry to anyone if I wasn't clear enough!
    TIA and best regards,
    Renaud

  • File selection sequence in the FTP connection for File Sender Adapter

    Hi,
I have a file to Proxy scenario using FTP connection parameters.
If there are multiple files in the sender folder, XI picks up the files randomly with no processing sequence.
I want XI to pick up the files based on the date time stamp meaning the  oldest file created in the folder should be processes first and rest all in sequence there after.
I know processing sequence can be set for NFS connection but not for FTP .
Please suggest if there's any way to make this work.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amit Bhagwat.

    Hi
For the Transport Protocol "File Transfer Protocol (FTP)" files are always processed in ascending alphabetical order
If you want the file to be processed in sequence then you can use Quality of Service EOIO in the sender adapter.
The files are processed in the sequence they are picked up.
otherwise use BPM for File Sequencing..

  • FTP sender adapter archives empty files

    Hi.
I have a strange problem with the ftp sender adapter.
I receive my file without problems, and the scenario works as it should.
The problem is with the archiving of my processed file.
It writes the file fine to the path specified, but it is empty (user has full file permissions)
The ftp adapter uses content conversion, and I have seen threads in the forum that tells about simular errors. But I have found no solution.
    Hope someone can help here.
    Regards...
    Peter

File Content Conversion is usually associated with Receiver File/FTP adapters
and Archiving the source file is an option at the Sender File/FTP Adapter.
No, content conversion is used both in sender and receiver file/FTP adapters.
In my case, it is in a sender adapter!
I'm not sure what you mean when you said "The ftp adapter uses content conversion,..."
The sender FTP adapter content converts a flat file to XML format!
Can you let us know the details of your scenario?
Like who / what is the sender and who/what is the receiver system?
The scenario looks like this: "FTP -> XI -> RFC", but as mentioned before, the scenario works fine, the problem is in the FTP sender adapter that fails to save the archive file.
If I try to use the file/FTP sender adapter in "file mode", with the same parameters, the archive file is written just fine!

  • Semantics File Sender Adapter to determine which files to retrieve

    Hallo,
does anybody has experience with this semantic?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank
    From the FAQ-List of file-adapter(Note 821267 , Question 27).
Q: Which semantics does the File Sender Adapter apply to determine which files to retrieve from an FTP server?
A: Up to and including SP13 the File Adapter will issue an NLST command (see RFC 959) with the configured source file name scheme as first parameter to the FTP server. It will try to retrieve any of the files returned by the FTP server in response to this command.
Starting with SP14, the File Adapter will issue a LIST command with the configured source file name scheme as first parameter to the FTP server. If it is able to parse the returned result (which is the case for UNIX- and Windows-style directory listings), it will retrieve any of the returned files. If it cannot parse the result, it will fall back to the pre-SP14 implementation and use the NLST command as described above.

    Frank
We are on SP12 and have had problems with this and specifically, the FTP server on Solaris, not being fully RFC959 compliant.
We've had to get a different FTP Server as we were returned *.xml no file or folder found instead of 550 *.xml no file or folder found.
This increased the polling to the server, and filled up the ftp logging file, which intern filled up the partition and crasehd the server.
We got round this by installing http://www.proftpd.org/

  • Pick up a specific file with File Sender Adapter.

    Hi guys,
I would like to know how I can pick a specific file in a file pool (folder)? I would like to choose this file by name, like FileA or FileB, etc.
I’m asking this because I have an asynchronous file scenario (BPM) with a receiver adapter that put the File with a specific name (variable substitution) in a folder.
And I would like to do something like this:
In another asynchronous scenario (BPM), a File sender adapter picks up this specific file (using the name). The correlation is made trough an IDOC that XI receives before pick up the file, this IDOC has payload field with the name of file to be picked.
Is it possible receives the IDOC, read the field with the name of the file to be picked and choose this specific file? In a Sender File Adapter how I can do something like variable substitution like receiver adapter does.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi,
<i>Is it possible receives the IDOC, read the field with the name of the file to be picked and choose this specific file? In a Sender File Adapter how I can do something like variable substitution like receiver adapter does.</i>
No this is not possible. The only dynamic thing you can do is use wild card characters like *.
So, maybe you can pick a file like . or AA. and so on...
