Sending an Event to Result Set iView

Hi,
in the standard MDM Result Set iView, there is a provision to generate an EPCF/URL Event. But is there a way to send an event into this standard result set iView?
I want to create a custom filter in web dynpro and filter the Result Set iView.
Please let me know if you know of a provision to do this.
Regards,
Nitin

Thanks, issue was solved.
Ivan,
I am using the following code:
For Item Details
                WDPortalEventing.fire(
     "urn:com.sap.pct.mdm.appl.masteriviews",
     "selectRecord",
     "MDMSystemAlias=SAP_MDM_Repository_Customers&MDMTableName=CUSTOMERS&mdmId="
     + rec.getId() //RecordId.
     + "&RefreshSearch=true");
For resultset
               WDPortalEventing.fire(
     "urn:com.sap.pct.mdm.appl.masteriviews",
     "getRecordByIds",
     "MDMSystemAlias=SAP_MDM_Repository_Customers&MDMTableName=CUSTOMERS"
     + "&id="
     + rec.getId()) ; //recordId

  • Custome Event for the Result Set iView

    Hi,
does anybody know how to set up the Custom Event on the Result Set iView in order to trigger an event when a record is selected?
I know how to do it using an event Type = EPCF + Event Name + Namespace, but this creates an extra colum on the Result Set iView with the Custom Event name on it, that has to be click in order to trigger the event. I do not want click on this column, i just want to create the event when the record is selected.
    Regards
    Diego.

    Hi Diego,
We are also implementing similar scenario.
We also want to open a window on the clik of any column of the result and if the result is zero we want to trigger some another iView.
So if u have found any solution can u just let me know.
OR else can u  just elaborate on ur current scenario using EPCF and custom event.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Restricting the no. of entries in the result set iView

    Hi,
Is there a way to restrict the no. of entries in the Result set iView.
Whenever I create a result set iView , it gets loaded with all the entries of the search table it is associated with.
Is there a way to restrict to say 5 or 6 entries.

    Hi,
Can we hide or remove the OCI Check box column from the Standard MDM Result set ivew?
Though i have made OCI disabled, I dont want to display the check boxes along with the product list.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks and best regards,

    Hi Arun,
If you are talking about the very first check box, then that is not related to OCI. Use of check box is to anable multiple item selection which can be used adding the records in the workflow, for comparison etc.

  • How can I use ONE Text search iView to event/affect mutliple Result Sets?

    hello everyone,
i have a special situation in which i have 6 flat tables in my repository which all have a common field called Location ID (which is a lookup flat to the Locations table).
i am trying to build a page with a free-form text search iView on Table #1 (search field = Location ID).  when I execute the search, the result set for Table #1 is properly updated, but how do I also get Result Set iViews for Tables #2-6 to also react to the event from Text Search for Table #1 so that they are updated?
i don't want to have to build 6 different text search iViews (one for each table).  i just want to use ONE text search iView for all the different result set tables.  but, in the documentation and iView properties, the text search iView doesn't have any eventing.
if you have any suggestions, please help.
    many thanks in advance,
    mm

    hello Donna,
that should not be a problem, since you are detailw with result sets and detail iviews because custom eventing can be defined for those iviews.
Yes, it says "no records" found because an active search and record selection havent' been performed for it (only your main table does).
So, yes, define a custom event, and pass the appropriate parameters and you should be fine.
Creating a custom event between a Result Set iView and an Item Details iView is easy and works. I have done it.
See page 35 of the Portal Content Development Guide for a step-by-step example, which is what I used.
For my particular situation, the problem I'm having is that I want the Search Text iView's event (i.e., when the Submit button is pressed) to be published to multiple iViews, all with different tables.  Those tables all share some common fields, which is what the Search iView has, so I'd like to pass the search critera to all of the iViews.

  • JDBC- RFC - JDBC    How to send result set to rfc  ?

    Hi Friends ,
I am working on scenario like .
<b>          I have to read  data from a sql server using select statement and send same   data  to r3 ( using RFC  we are inserting the same as  a copy ) .
Then i have have get confirmation from R3 as data inserted succesfully  - Flag  .Then we have to come back to same table and update one field  flag as 'U'.</b>
For this I am using JDBC Sender Adapter and RFC Receiver Adapter .Will i use  as Synchronous  Interface ?
I think i have to use JDBC  Receiver Adapter    also to Complete the cycle .
Can you please clarify  the following....
                       1. how is that whole selected data will send to R3 . If i use Select statement in JDBC Sender Adapter  it will as resultset  .It will contain Multiple Rows right ?  Our RFC Will accept the parameter as string .
                        2. If we use the synchronous Interface will it send row by row from the result send Then  get back the result from R3 and come back again to JDBC ( Database ) and  update the required field ?
                        3. In JDBC Sender Adapter , the Update Parameter doing the Updation  Part  prior to get the status from R3. How to handle this ?
                       4. Do i need to configur teh separate JDBC Receiver adpater for this updation part ? Then We cann't use Synchronous Interface right ?
5 . Will JDCB Sender  Adapter get the result set (by select statement )  and send to r3 as row by row and get the confirmation message as inserted  ?
    Best Regards .,
    V.Rangarajan

    Hi Udo ,
Thanks for your reply . If i have used the synchronnous RFC Calls  , that RFC will return the flag as 'Y' or 'N'  , for  Either succesfully inserted or Not successful .
In this synchronous  how can i use the JDBC Receiver adapter ?
If 'Y'  or 'N' I have to update the<b> same table ,same row</b> which have sent to RFC .  My doubt , we are  wrirtng the  SQL  select query as  "  <b>select * from table  name where UpdateStatus is null</b> " .
So it will return multiple rows right ?   I have to uses the synchronous response form RFC to update the row of the  same table using JDBC Adapter right ?
Can you please explain me little bit more ? I am new to xi .

    Hi,
Resultset iView just display the data present in the repository, we cannot set any restrictions on it or it is not configurable. You can create mask in data manager which contains the unique records and assigned that mask to particular role in the console and assign this role to particular user. Now when you use this user at the time of user mapping in portal, only the records assigned to the mask will be available in the Resultset iView.
The limitation is you need to maintain the mask manually.

  • How do I create an Event Handler for an Execute SQL Task in SSIS if its result set is empty

So the precedence on my entire package executing is based on my first SELECT of my Table and an updatable column. If that SELECT results in an empty result set, how do I create an Event Handler to handle an empty result set?
    A Newbie to SSIS.
I appreciate your review and am hopeful for a reply.
    PSULionRP

Depends upon what you want to do in the eventhandler. this is what you can do
Store the result set from the Select to a user variable.
Pass this user variable to a Script task.
In the Script task do whatever you want to do including failing the package this can be done by failing the script task, which in turns fails the package. something like
    Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Failure

  • Avoid JDBC sender error: Execute statement did not return a result set

    Hi!
My JDBC sender adapter towards MS SQL server works fine, with an Execute statement calling a stored procedure that returns the source data needed. The stored procedure itself updates the status of database table records, so that only the unread records are returned each time the stored procedure is called.
However, the communication channel monitoring sets a red flag for the JDBC sender adapter, when there are no values to fetch from the database table (using the stored procedure). Message says: "Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement 'EXECUTE FetchMessage 1, 9000'. The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The statement did not return a result set.'. For details, contact your database server vendor."
This is not an error situation, as I do not expect there to be any values to fetch from the database at all times.
I do not see how to change the stored procedure to avoid this error.
Is there a parameter to be set on the JDBC adapter that I can use, so the red flag is avoided?
    Thanks for any input!
    Regards,
    Oeystein Emhjellen

    Hi Oeystein Emhjellen.
The problem is Store Procedure that has to generate always a ResultSet (or cursor). If it doesn't have a output, you have to generate an Empty ResultSet.
    Like a SELECT Statement:
If there are data, SELECT get an output result but if it get nothing the SELECT Statement get a empty ResultSet.
    Ask to your database team.
    I hope it helps you.
    Bruno.

If anyone can offer any insight as to why we might be getting this error it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i also have same error during load testing, mainly this error
"Unexpected exception while enlisting XAConnection java.sql.SQLException"
i tried rerunning after increasing connection pool sizes, transaction timeout, but no luck, marginal improvement in performance though
also tried changing the default tracking levl to none, but no luck.
i am with 8.1SP5, how about you ?
do share if you are able to bypass these errors
