Sending an image in Email

Hi.
We have to send an external email in HTML format. The email can also have a logo/photo.
How can we achieve this?
Also, if it is possible to achieve this, can this be done in backgound also?
We are not displaying when user runs the report. Only send an email.

I am using your code to send email, but I am sending to SAP inbox. Everything is fine, except the image does not show up.

Notice the two IMG tags there. If I pass the same table to HTML container as in :
CALL METHOD html_control->load_data
 IMPORTING
 assigned_url = url
 CHANGING
 data_table = html
CALL METHOD cl_gui_cfw=>flush.
CALL METHOD html_control->show_data
 EXPORTING
 url = url.
In this case, photo comes up perfectly fine. But in email somehow the photo is not coming up.
Any clues?

after i send my page to email, the header don't show because it will send as an attachment. i have uploaded my header to server. i'm using web browser to send email.can i know how to send my page that will look nice in email. i dont want the header send as an attachment. how can i do that?

Nokia E72-1 send image via Email

After one of the latest firmware upgrades, the options for sending an item via email has dissapeared. For example, when I take a picture with a camera and then click the envelope icon, the only two options I get are: "Via message", "via Bluetooth" and "upload". In the past there was an option called "Via email" but is now missing. Anyone have any idea how to fix that? It's really annoying, since to send an image via email I have to create a new email and then browse the file system to find the image (there are also no thumbnails there so finding the right one is even more frustrating).

Your'e right.
nokia has removed this item to let you send email via nokia instead. This is a commercial feature i think.
you can add attachments when you create a new mail in your mailbox though......

Send logo in an Email

Hi,
I am sending a mail to vendor using the FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.
Here, I have put the body of the mail in standard texts and i am attaching the PO as attachment. But we also need the company logo in the signature of the mail.
Now, I can not insert the logo in standard text, but we need it in the body. Can you please suggest a better function module or a work around?

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

How best to send images by email, esp. to Windoze machines?

I'm having trouble getting mails to people with just a couple of jpegs, total about 1MB. I use Panther, and Mail 1.3.11. I do check "send Windows-friendly attachments". One recipient is an AOL user, dial-up.
Another complains that my mails were zipped, and he doesn't have the software to un-zip! This one has good cable modem service.
Does it matter if I send the images within a folder? Or should I send them without the enclosing folder?

Sending attachments is pretty tricky, especially to AOL users. I believe that AOL does not allow multiple attachments on a single email. Otherwise, AOL will compress the files together into a single file as it passes through their email server.
This may and probably does happen on other email servers as well.
Try sending a single image and see if they receive it ok.
Also, is there any text included with the emails (comments, signatures, etc)?

Problem in Sending image in Email Notification

Hi All,
In our implementation we have to send customer logo in each email notification.
We have SIM 7.1 deployed on SUN JES Application server 8.2.
I tried to send the image using two ways but nothing got succeed.
1) Using <IMG src"http<machine name>:<port number>/idm/images/<image name>"/>
2) Deployed another trial.war file having only image folder and then using <IMG src"http<machine name>:<port number>/trial/images/<image name>"/>
Where "machine name", "port number" and "image name" have suggestive values as per our environment.
But i am not able to send the image. however second options works well with Tomcat.
If anybody has any prior experience or some idea please share. it will really be helpful for us.

If u wan to display image in mail, U have two options:
Either attach image in mail as suggested by Prateek.
Make Image url a absolute url.
Usually Sites send email with absolute ur, When u read email, ur browser gets the image and render the content along with image.

I am unable to send my dng images as email attachments using the Adobe emailer. I get a message telling me that dng images cannot be converted? What do I need to do to send them using the Adobe email?

You need to contact your ISP and find out what you need to use as your out going email server SMTP Server is. Is should be the same as the one you use on your email on your PC (Windoze or Mac). if you are using gMail they have a guide for setting up your email on a email client.

How the email message looks in Mail is fairly irrelevant to how it will look to the recipient. An image attached to an email message is an attachment regardless of how the client displays it. Some will display it inline, others as an icon in a list of attached files. Regardless, it is an attachment and should be capable of being opened, saved to another location, etc.
Unfortunately, some Windows email clients (*cough* Outlook *cough*) are absolutely crippled when it comes to email standards, and make it difficult for recipients to view or save some attached images. You can better ensure success with Outlook by using Windows-friendly attachments and only sending plain text email, rather than HTML email. However, Outlook is still Outlook, and it does not play well with others.
If you must communicate with people who use Outlook try uploading your photos to an album on Picasa, Flikr, Shutterfly, etc, and then send people a link instead. Or convince them to use a real email client, like Thunderbird.

That really depends on the email client that you're using, but attaching a file is usually a pretty straightforward operation. For example, many use a paperclip icon for attachments. Please check the Help for your email application for information about attaching files.

Sender's image no longer displays in received email

I have become fond of seeing the images of people that I have loaded pictures of into my Address Book but, recently (not sure when it started), some sender's images are displayed and some are not. Even messages that I cc to myself have my own picture displayed in some messages and not in others. It seems quite random, actually. I see the same behavior in Leopard and Snow Leopard (with the OS 10.6.4 update installed).
I have tried rebuilding the mailboxes, repairing permissions, re-importing my Address Book database, but nothing has worked. I have seen some threads reporting similar behavior on the iPhone.
Any suggestions or insights?
