Sending attachment Via Email

Hi All,
I have a requirement where in i need to send an email from teh service ticket. The email will be triggered basedon status change to To be Approved. While the email is sent to approver, is it possible to pick the attachment linked to service ticket and add to email as an attachment. is this possible technically..any pointers on how to achive this would be of great help...

I'm not going to give you all the coding details , but I have techically done this before for an activity and here is the recipe for your case:
1) Create a new z-action profile for the transaciton type
2) Copy the standard CL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER over to a z-version
3) Copy the method from that class called CRM_SRVORDER_EXEC_SMART_FORM to a version called EMAIL_SRV_ORDER
4) Copy the standard smartform used for the service profile to a zed version
5) Configure a new smart forms mail action to send an e-mail using the new processing class
6) Now here is the fun part, you will actually re-code the method to excute the form, but not send out via e-mail. You will capture the smartform output as OTF and then convert to ASCII to become the body of your e-mail.
7) Next you will read the attachment for the e-mail message using he CL_CRM_DOCUMENTS class into memory
8) Finally you will build an e-mail message via separate function module which will be called in a separate task(to avoid issuing a commit work in the action), using CL_BCS message classes.
Your end-result is your "action" will generate an e-mail with an attachment. This isn't way too difficult and I estimate about one week to do.

Error opening PDF file when send as attachment via email

I searched around the forum to resolve my issue and there's alot of post that is related but i can't find any answer to my issues.
Here's the scenario :-
I try to convert the smartform to PDF and then send the PDF as an attachment via email.
After converting the smartform to PDF, i managed to download the file and view it without any problem but i can't view the PDF as an attachment. It has the following error :-

Kindly request you to help in the below issue:
I have a File to EMAIL interface in which the file channel would pick up a file "Test.pdf".
This file should be sent as an attachment to a number of receipients as it is without any formatting of the content.
In other words, XI should pick the file and attach it as it is as an EMAIL.
There is no need of any mapping changes.
We are giving the receipients during runtime hence, we have done dynamic configuration.
Kindly suggest how to attach the file as it is in the EMAIL.

Sending a binary attachment via email, looking for a more clean way

Hi experts.
I finally managed to send a binary attachment via email. Why "finally"? Never done before!
Also I got to manage the "not standard" .SAP file extension, because the attachment is a transaction link.
So let me explain how i did it:
take SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, filling following input data:

But how to fill lt_hex? Well I did not found a way to transfer text data into raw data structure (lt_hex is type SOLIX).
So, here is the trick:
fill another table, lt_bin type SOLISTI1, with attachment content (text data);
dump lt_bin content to a file on application server, having care to specify TEXT MODE and UTF-8 encoding;
now reopen the same file in BINARY MODE and transfer content to lt_hex.
Why I did not use parameter
content_bin
? Because SAP ECC 6 is unicode enabled (I think UTF-16) and file has got to be UTF-8 or ASCII. Also, packing_list for attachment must specify binary tranfer mode. And doing so each UTF-16 character (2 bytes) is split into 2 characters (1 char + 1 NUL byte). Attachment is now unusable.
What is the question? Here it is: how to fill lt_hex data directly from text (UTF-16) data, avoiding conversion errors?

the problem is not the exported xls. If you have a look inside with Notepad or something like that, you will see that your leading zeros are exported correct.Excel-settings occurs this problem, it is all about how to open the document. If you use the import-assistant you will have no problems because there are options available how to handle the different columns.
Another solution might be to get familiar with ABAP2XLS-Project. I got in my mind, that there is a method implemented, that will help you solving this problem. But that is not a five minute job

All of this depends largely on what printer /software you have, which Email client you use and to some extent which OS you are running.
Most HP printers have HP Solution Center which is used to set up scanning,choosing where to save,etc. Once a file/photo is scanned and saved to the folder, open the folder.Select the file and at the top of the window should be the option to 'Email'.

how do you send an attachment via email to another recipient who does not have a mac?

As long as you send it in a recognizable format such as a .jpeg (or .jpg) used for most photos/images or .pdf used for a lot of word processing docs, there is no problem. Also, while in the Mail window, choose "send Windows compatible". It's not who or what you create it on, it is the format you send it in.

Can't send pictures via email

Hi everyone,
Recently (within the last week or 2), I have been unable to send pictures via email. I've tried both the stock email app and yahoo mail. It is very disheartening. I've even uninstalled my yahoo app and reinstalled it, and it still does not work. I've shut down the phone and have done everything just shy of a hard reset (which is what I'm trying NOT to do). Anybody else having this issue or can a VZW rep help me to rectify this? I've only had the phone since December and love it. I haven't dropped it and there is no water damage.

I am having this issue with trying to send pictures from my email applications in my phone. I use Yahoo, but not the Yahoo app. I also tried to use my work email to attach the picture to and send. In both instances, Yahoo and work email, I get a "Failure " message in my outbox of the email application when I look to see if the photo sent. I have received pictures via text before, no problem. I also tried turning of bluetooth, even though where I am currently located there is no wifi/bluetooth to connect to.

The problem is with the new operating system and sending photo via email when used in my iPad. From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

The peron is able to view the project when it comes by email but I am wondering how can they burn a dvd copy of it to display at the Church for our announcements. First off, you're not likely to be able to email it. Most email systems limit the size of messages (and their attachments) since email isn't really designed for large transfers. It's not uncommon to see 50MB as a cap. Unless you're working on an especially small project you're likely to exceed this limit.
Instead you should consider creating a disk image of your DVD and using a public file service such as DropBox or YouSendIt.
If you create a disk image (.dmg) file that simulates a full burned DVD, the reciever can burn that to disk using Disk Utility on their machine. They don't need FCP X on their side.

Send smartforms via email using action profiles

hi,
i am trying to send smartforms via email using action profiles and i would like to know if anyone has any document or know any steps to do the same. i have created the smartform and i created the action in an action profile. i selected the option "Smartforms Mail". and i have mentioned my smartform in it.
I have previously worked with action profiles to trigger workflows which sent a mail. That was relatively easier as i could mention that the mail be sent to my mailbox. But in the smartforms option, i dont know how to give the instruction that it be sent to my mailbox.. is there any place i can set it? The action is not person dependant and is done whenever saving a document.

As u worked on Action profiles, i recommend u use action profile with permitted Process type as Smart Forms Mail to send the mails which contains the data in Smartform u created.
Use below mail setting
Form Name              (u r ZSmartform)
Processing Class      CL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER
Processing Method    CRM_ACTIVITY_EXEC_SMART_FORM
Archive Mode            1 Mail only User
In Action definition details u can mentioned the Processing time, Partner dependent for action to who u want to send the mail, further in action condition using schedule and start condition u can set the criteria to mail trigger.
