Sending change of address notification to previous contacts

Hello,
I'm on the verge of bailing out of my mac/me membership as a result of all the problems of late. And with that goes my mac/me mail address. Therefore I need to send a notification to all my contacts with the new address. So:
1. Is there an easy way of retrieving all the previous to/from addresses in the mail program, not only contacts in address book?
2. Is there a way of sending these notifications all at once without getting stopped by servers as spam (We're talking about 3 - 500)?
3. What's the most practical way to send them all (also without showing all the other recipients to everybody)?
Any help with all or some of the questions muchly appreciated.

I found this script at MacScripter.net.
However, all you need is the email addresses out of the database, so use this Applescript code that I modified to only return the email addresses:do shell script "sqlite3 " & quoted form of POSIX path of ¬
((path to application support from user domain as text) ¬
& "AddressBook:MailRecents-v4.abcdmr") & ¬
" 'select ZEMAILNORMALIZED from ZABCDMAILRECENT' | tr '|' \\t > ~/Desktop/MailRecents-v4.txt"Copy everything in the above code block and paste it into a new Script Editor document. Click the Run button. It will create a file of your Previous Recipients email addresses.
Open the file that is created on your desktop with Text Edit. You can go through and delete addresses that you don't need.
Once ready, open a new mail message and click on the little dropdown next to From and select Bcc. That stands for Blind Carbon Copy. Each recipient will not see the others. Now, select the list of addresses in Text Edit and drag them to the Bcc field.

  • Can't change email address in 4.0 Contact book

I need to change my email address in the Sharing palette of the Contact book (as accessed from the Photo Browser).  When I highlight my address in the recipient list and then go to Edit, I get a message saying "This contact is used by a print recipient in the Order Prints palette. To edit this contact, select it in the Order Prints palette and edit it using the Order Prints palette's Edit button." So, I go to the Order Prints palette (as accessed from the Photo Browser) and go to the recipients list.  My information including the email address is in the "default" section - first in list. This information is the correct email address so I don't need to change that one.  (Note: I can't remember how I got it in the default section in the first place).  I tried to just delete the email address so that I could then edit it in the Sharing palette recipient list, but when I delete each line of my information and leave that page, it has not been deleted. I assume it has something to do with the fact that it is a default address.  How do I get rid of my contact information as the default or is there another way to change my email address in the Sharing recipient list without having to do something in the Order Prints recipient list. I called the Help desk, but they don't support Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 anymore.  Thank you.

Basically, I have fixed the problem by just
putting in my new email address and leaving the
old one in there because I can't seem to delete
it.  I go to Edit - Contact Book, and highlight
my old email address in the list and click on
Delete.  I get a message box saying:
"One or more selected contacts have matching
Order Prints recipients. Before you can delete
this contact, you must first delete the recipient
from the Order Prints palette."  So I go to the
Order Prints palette, and my old email address
isn't even in there. I had changed it over a year
ago to my new one.  Very strange.  The bottom
line is; that I can't delete my old email address
from the recipient list, but since I added my new
one, I can live with it that way. Since this
Photoshop program is set up with Kodak Gallery,
it might be the Kodak Gallery part of the process
that is not letting me do this.  (I just want my
address in there to email a photo to myself once
in awhile to see how it comes up.) I have no
problem deleting and editing other peoples'
addresses. I have Adobe Photoshop 4.0, which I
know is quite old and now has no online support,
but it still does what I want.  Thanks for your response.

  • Mail and Address Book work together to send change of address

I would like Mail to send a change of e-mail address to anyone in my Address Book who sends me an e-Mail to the old address is this possible and of course if so how?
    Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

You should be able to do this with a rule, something like this:
If all of the following conditions are met:
Sender is in my Address Book
    To Contains {your old email address}
    Perform the following actions:
    Reply to message {message text whatever you want, including your new email address}

  • Change default address fields

    Hello,
Is it possible to change the address default fields (account, contact addresses)? For example, user would like to add "States" when the country "India" is selected.
    Thanks, Sab

Sab, at this time it is not possible to change the address fields. Currently the address fields are determined by the country selection.

  • Sending change of email address notification to mulitple recipients

I've spent a while researching previous posts but so far I have not found one that exactly matches my questions, but apologize if this has already been covered.
I want to direct people to use my .mac email rather than the email address from my internet provider, since I have been receiving too much spam and am leaning towards changing providers as a result.
I know that I can create a group out of all the people in my address book and send it to them, but I also need to send this change-of-address note to many people (business contacts) who are NOT in my address book. Is there any way to go through the alphabetical listing of previous recipients and choose more than one at a time? Otherwise I have to do it one by one, scrolling down the list over and over again, seems silly.
Thank you for your help. I have Mail version 2.1.3

open the list of previous recipients and select the ones you need by holding the command button. then press "add to address book".

  • How can I change email address RIM sends mail to?

I have two emails, one that's strictly friends and family, and one for everything else. A while back I changed the "everything else" address to gmail. Although I've never submitted my personal address to RIM (other than setting up that email on my phone), they've begun spamming my personal mail with daily "notifications." I don't mind getting the mail, but 1. I don't want it coming to my personal address, and 2. I find it very disturbing that RIM harvested my personal account info to use at their convenience. I see in the emails I receive I can "unsubscribe," although they'll still send me mail they deem important. I don't want that, I want to give them my new everything address, so they'll stay out of my personal acct. I have thoroughly searched their site, but see no way to submit this new address, or to set up my acct preferences for my interaction with RIM. Please tell me how to change my address with RIM, or to at least contact them, not about my phone, but about their service (there doesn't appear to be any such option among the "Contact Us" selections they offer). Thanks very much!

    Notifications of what?
I promise you, from all I've seen, you would have had to check a box in something stating you want to receive updates, etc., from BlackBerry. They certainly haven't "harvested" your email address from simply being loaded to your BlackBerry.
You need to unsuscribe from the current emails you're getting. Even if you don't want to.
You probably downloaded an OS or file update or Desktop Software somewhere that you clicked to agree to receive updates.

  • Change of email address notification

I need to send a change of email address notification to all my contacts. I'll put those in the bcc box. But what do I put in the "to" box? If I put one of them there this name will show up in all the others. If I don't put anything there I suppose many spam filters will throw it out. Any other solutions?

Thanks, iBod. I tried both variations now, but neither work. Cruising the help pages of my new server, it looks like I might be able to contact them and tell them I'm about to send a change of mail address notification and they will open the gates for me for this purpose. Could be good.

  • How can I broadcast a changed email address to my contacts list

how can I broadcast a changed email address to my contacts list?

There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes.
Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list.  I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me.  My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see.  There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email.  As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one.  I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information.  This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!
    Running OS 10.7.5

  • Can anyone help me with changing email address for resetting password notification

Can anyone help me with changing email address for resetting password notification?

If you know the answers to your security questions, you can change your rescue email address as shown in step 6 in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312.
If you don't kow the answers to your security questions or need other assistance doing this, either contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password, or contact the Apple account security team: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

  • Have a new iPad with ios6.  Will not send emails. Addresses are valid  but get notice each time that recipient was rejected by the server.  No help on web site, and Apple's only manual is for previous os version.  We miss Steve Jobs.

Have a new IPad with IOS6.  Will not send emails.  Addresses are valid but get notice each time that "recipient was rejected by the server."  Apple has apparently neglected to put out a manual with IOS6 and the previous manual has no indication of what to do.  Really miss Steve Jobs.

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

  • Help! I have a new iPhone 5s. My husband just lost his 4s, so I want to give him mine. Want to use same Apple ID so we both have access to itunes/apps purchases. Want to separate contacts, messages, mail, etc. I cannot change iCloud address.

Help! I have a new iPhone 5s. My husband just lost his 4s, so I want to give him my 4s. We want to use same Apple ID so we both have access to itunes/apps purchases. Want to separate contacts, messages, mail, etc. I cannot change iCloud address on 4s iPhone. Also, when I tried to change iMessage I got a message that if I deleted my id (which seemed to be the only way to get my husband's I'd there), I would not be able to receive iMessages on any device.
Would someone kindly tell me how to set up th 4s for my husband so that we can keep our info separate? It would be most appreciated! Thanks!!

    Hey Fagen!
You will want to see the following article for guidance on achieving the result you wish to achieve:
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5661
I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden

  • HT204150 How do I change my default email on the "Me" contact from a Facebook email to my normal email address in the same contact?  Or at least change it for the autofill information?

How do I change my default email on the "Me" contact from a Facebook email to my normal email address in the same contact?  Or at least change it for the autofill information?
Perfernece for contact to change.  Do I just have to dis-associate my contact fromt the facebook account?  Is only the autofill changable?

If you allow Facebook to access your contacts and you have the @facebook.com email alias turned on, it will add the @facebook.com email to your contact info, and because it has the fixed label of "email" it overrides every other email address.
They didn't fix this in iOS 8.
There are two ways to remove the @facebook.com email from your contact info:
If you don't need your Facebook friends and their info updating your contacts, go into iOS Settings -> Facebook and turn off access to Contacts.
If you don't use your @facebook.com email address (all it does it forward to the primary email address) you can go into the Facebook app, More -> Settings -> General -> Email -> and uncheck "Use your Facebook email". Removing it from Account Emails does not work, you have to turn it off. Once you do this, go to iOS Settings -> Facebook and turn Contacts off and on again to make it update your info. The @facebook.com address should be removed.

  • I am sending emails to a Smart Group created in my address book.   The contact in my address book has multiple email addresses.  Is there a way for the email to go to both addresses?  (ex:  work and home email address under one contact)

In my address book, I have contacts that have multiple email addresses.  (ex:  home and work)   I have created a smart group off of the company name in the contact.  When I send emails, I want it to go to both email address listed in the contact.  Is there a way to make this happen?  Or do I have to have a separate contact for each email address?

I will agree with you on this one. Version 31 and all the fixes so far are a mess. Since I have been here answering questions for a little more than a year now I have learned to wait to upgrade until all the dust settles. I see no end to the dust storm version 31 has caused. I am still on version 24.6 and plan on staying there for the duration. At least until the developers comes to their senses and put out a working product.

  • HT2486 How can I send an email to all of the email addresses associated with one contact? Similarly, in regard to group lists, how do you include for distribution all email addresses associated with each contact in the group?

Often times there are multiple email addresses associated with a single contact in address book.  How can I included all of these email addresses when creating an address book group?

    Don't be surprised.
Apple offers free, basic Mail and Address Book apps and creates paid, more sophisticated solutions, also allowing Developers to provide more sophisticated solutions for sale in the marketplace.
When I need to repeatedly email to multiple contacts, I create a blank draft email, and use the Address Book button to list the appropriate address book group. With the Address Book window open, it's easy to click to add multiple email addresses for a single contact name. Each is added to the message email address list. Then I save that blank email to iCloud Drafts, and it retains the email addreses I've entered. Next time I need to send a message I double-click on it in Drafts to open it, and drag it to one of my other email accounts to add Subject and details, then send from the other account.
