Sending class instance to an external application

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to send an instance of a class that has been initialized and instantiated to an external application as a parameter to the application?
Thanks in advance.

I dont thin that is posible since the java doc says
Class Class is special cased within the Serialization Stream Protocol. A Class instance is written initially into an ObjectOutputStream in the following format:
TC_CLASS ClassDescriptor
A ClassDescriptor is a special cased serialization of
a java.io.ObjectStreamClass instance.
A new handle is generated for the initial time the class descriptor is written into the stream. Future references to the class descriptor are written as references to the initial class descriptor instance.
So am not sure whether you can create new instances from the deserialized classes.

    Dear All,
    I am working on one of our customer requirement to send Customer Payment data from SAP ECC 6.0 to their application using SAP PI 7.0
    I have created a customer Invoice (in Transaction Code FB70)  without any reference document .
    Now I want to generate a Customer payment document on the top of Customer Invoice generated as mentioned above.
    Can any one please suggest the following:
    1) Can we generate Customer payment document in transaction FII0
    2) What are the mandatory parameters to generate Customer payment document.
    3) If I need to send this data to external application using IDOCs , so can i use Program RFFOEDI1 as suggested in other threads.
        what are the parameters needs to given to run the program?
    4) How to configure the our output type so whenever we generate a Customer payment document, an IDOC should be genarated.
    Also please confirm if I can use IDOC PAYEXT with basic type PEXR2001 or should I go for some other IDOC.

  • Using session/cookies to send data to External Application

    How do I send data to an External Application using either the session store or cookies? I've tried both, but the data isn't visible to the External Application.
    I'm using the owa_cookie package to send a cookie from the "before page is displayed" section of a dynamic page.
    I'm also using the wwsto_api_session api to set attributes in the session store.
    Neither method allows data to be viewable in the External Application (iFS).

    Did you backup your data from that external disk using some other backup software before?
    I am also trying to figure out problems with external HD using time machine to back it up. Am not quite sure yet why it is not working right.

    Download "Simulate Click" and "Simulate Key Event" from my web site.
    It's on G Toolbox page.

  • Is it possible to send data from an external application to a plug-in that executes a menu item?

    I want to pass some parameters from an external appliaction  to my own plug-in. The plug-in creates a menu item for adding electronic signature. The menu item is executed from my external application using MenuItemExecute("mymenutem").

    Since you control the application AND the plugin - you can define ANY method of communication you want.  Shared files, shared memory, IPC, named pipes, etc.

  • Creating custom class instances for XML nodes

    Hi guys,
    I'm trying to load an external XML document in my application
    and create an instance of a custom class for each node in the XML
    based on the value of some of their elements. The instances created
    will eventually end up in a DataGrid by the way. The problem I'm
    having is there seems to be many ways of doing small parts of this
    and I have no idea how to make them all gel. Initially I'm using
    HTTPService to load the XML file but I've seen people just use an
    XML object. Then, after that, I initially set the loaded XML to an
    ArrayCollection but others have used XMLList or XMLListCollection.
    I've no idea what's the best way to do this.
    Eventually, when I've created all of these instances by
    looping over the XML and creating them how will I make them
    bindable to the data grid? I'm guessing I'll have to group them
    somehow...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • SSO for External application not part of the portal framework

    Greetings,
    I am desperate!!!
    I am trying to do the following:
    I have a pl/sql application that presents to the user a set of external applications links.When the user activates a link, I would like to make a call the SSO server so it can do external application login.
    I know I can configure the external applications as described in the SSO admin guide.
    Unfortunately the API to query the SSO server for external application mapping is not public.
    ANY IDEAS ON WHERE I CAN GET THIS INFO??
    Every thing I have read says that external applications can be accessed through Portal. This is not my case. I can use any packages or classes available by the SSO server to portal, but MY APPLICATION IS NOT A PORTAL.

    I have similar kind of requirements for Single sign-on to external web applications.
    But in my applications I have to auto-generate random userid & password for different external web applications.
    These uids & password are exported to external applications, which upon recieving creates user in their applications.
    So, actual user will never have access to these credentials(uid &pwd).
    So, how can I cutomize the Portlets to do the first time SSO when user is created & their credentials to external apps are stored to OID.
    Any idea Barry..
    Bye

  • How to find out multiple instances of the same application

    Hi,
    Please help me with your Java Networking expertise.
    Is there any way you could suggest where we could know how many instances of the same application is running in a network ?
    Sending a UDP packet would require to specify the destination of the machine's IP address.
    But when the same application is installed in two different machines, at run time both the instances should be able to communicate dynamically. Is there any way I can send a signal(packet) that should be picked up by the other application instance ? Both the machine are in the same network.
    Thanks,
    Deb

    I guess there are many ways to do it. One simple way would be to broadcast a mesage whenever an instance starts up. Other running instances can then communicate back to it.

  • How can I create a shortcut to launch an external application?

    Hello, I'm developing app in Swing where I want to create a shortcut for any external application, I'm able to get the .exe path, and an icon path (in .png format), is there a way to create a "shortcut" or button and assign the icon and the .exe path to run it? This is what I have to get the .exe path:
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"" + jTextField2.getText() + "\"");
    Where jTextField takes the value from a JFileChooser value, doing the same for the icon, then I could do this for a button to assign the icon:
    ImageIcon img1 = new ImageIcon("C:\\image.png");
    jButton7.setSize(64, 64);
    jButton7.setIcon(img1);
    But I havent' found any way to make the button (or any kind of shortcut) to execute the program, I could go and create a method to do it on click or ActionPerformed, but the idea is to do all this when I finish the create the shortcut, I hope you can understand me, I'm kinda confused, so far, I can launch the app but I want to create a new button/shortcut everytime I need to add an external app, thanks in advanced!!!

  • How to deal with credentials for external applications using a Java Client/

    Hi Guys,
    This is the case. I am integrating an external application with an ADF Application. I have implemented some programmatic ViewObjects that are being filled up by a REST Java Client Wrapper. Everything is working fine but the issue is that the credentials the wrapper is using are hard coded inside the java class. I am thinking to ask for the credentials at the beginning of my taskflow and then store them somewhere and use them then to create my client wrapper (passing them in the constructor).
    However, I don't know if my approach is good and I would like you to share your experiences or how to deal with this.
    Regards

    You can use Credential Store Framework to store the credentials securely in the weblogic server instead of hardcoding in the java class.
    The Credential Store Framework:
    - enables you to manage credentials securely
    - provides an API for storage, retrieval, and maintenance of credentials in different back-end repositories
    Check the documentation on CSF API -
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29505_01/core.1111/e10043/devcsf.htm
    Major Steps -
    1. Create a credential map and key in em console to store the password (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/core.1111/e10043/csfadmin.htm)
    2. Use CSF API to retrieve the stored password
    3. In jazn-data.xml give permissions to access CSF key and map

  • Cache problem when coming back from external application

    Let's see if I can explain this properly. We have an application consisting of a left menu with books and pages. Each page consists of one Struts portlet. In one case we direct the user to an external mail application. This is handled by the Struts action class setting some fields (identifier and a url to return to when closing the external application). Our action class forwards to a jsp page like this (where url, SESSION_KEY and LINKBACK_URL are populated by the action class)
    <form action="${url}" name="myForm" METHOD="POST" TARGET="_top">
    <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="i_session" VALUE="<c:out value='${SESSION_KEY}'/>">
    <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="linkback" VALUE="<c:out value='${LINKBACK_URL}'/>">
    </form>
    <script language="javascript">
         document.myForm.submit();
    </script>
    The external application opens up in the same window and when the user closes it you're linked back to our application through the LINKBACK_URL. Now, when I click in the left menu as I did from the start all I see is a blank page (if I click once again it displays correctly) and if I press F5 I'm logged into the external application again so it seems the jsp page with the form is cached. I can in a way understand that it does but I don't want that so are there any way to get rid of this behaviour?

  • How do you harness URL external application in a JSP?

    I have successfully deployed the Yahoo Finance sample URL External Application. However, I do not understand how to utilize the URL classes (in the pdkjava.jar) to harness the external application information once a user has authenticated. I am building a JSP portlet that displays and applet, however the applet requires a username and password. I need to get the Username and Password from external application, which it gets from the user via External Application. How do I get these values in my JSP (that is defined in my provider.xml)? I keep seeing documentation regarding the ExternalPrincipal object however I don't understand how to utilize this object in my JSP. I beleive the ExternalPrincipal object is what I need in my JSP, seeing that it has the methods for getting the user and password. Unless is there a better way of achieving this, can anyone shed some light on getting the ExternalPrincipal object for an External Application session?

  • Loading an external application

    Hi,
    I would like to develop a program with Java that calls and talks to an external application (i.e. GATE: http://gate.ac.uk/download/index.html).
    Can you lead me how this can be done? Is there some Java class that can be used for this purpose?
    Thanks for your help.

    Well, there are "docs", "support" and "developers" sections on that page, so I'd look there and when you get stuck, ask there too.

  • Is it possible to send a instance to error hospital for business errors?

    I have a business cenario where if an error is returned from an external service the first time it will automatically retry. The second time it will need to be sent for manual resolution which I was thinking of doing in the error hospital (human intervention) does anyone know if it is possible to send an instance for human-intervention from within the process rather from the fault policies?

    We have an instance where sometimes we are sending embedded tiff images to an external service and if the image is corrupt we need to allow the users to terminate the process. Unfrotunately there are no capabilities to send any notifications (email/sms/fax/voicemail) and need to notify the user of the corrupt image and to terminate the process. We could use a worklist task and but the business have defined this as a support team responsibility and want to use the same manual recovery console for all errors. (activities tab)

  • Binding a JavaFX variable to a Java class instance variable

    Hi,
    I am pretty new to JavaFX but have been developing in Java for many years. I am trying to develop a JavaFX webservice client. What I am doing is creating a basic scene that displays the data values that I am polling with a Java class that extends Thread. The Java class is reading temperature and voltage from a remote server and storing the response in an instance variable. I would like to bind a JavaFx variable to the Java class instance variable so that I can display the values whenever they change.
    var conn: WebserviceConnection; // Java class that extends Thread
    var response: WebserviceResponse;
    try {
    conn = new WebserviceConnection("some_url");
    conn.start();
    Thread.sleep(10000);
    } catch (e:Exception) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    def bindTemp = bind conn.getResponse().getTemperature();
    def bindVolt = bind conn.getResponse().getVoltage();
    The WebserviceConnection class is opening a socket connection and reading some data in a separate thread. A regular socket connection is used because the server is not using HTTP.
    When I run the application, the bindTemp and bindVolt are not updated whenever new data values are received.
    Am I missing something with how bind works? Can I do what I want to do with 'bind'. I basically want to run a separate thread to retrieve data and want my UI to be updated when the data changes.
    Is there a better way to do this than the way I am trying to do it?
    Thanks for any help in advance.
    -Richard

    Hi,
    If you don't want to constantly poll for value change, you can use the observer design pattern, but you need to modify the classes that serve the values to javafx.
    Heres a simple example:
    The Thread which updates a value in every second:
    // TimeServer.java
    public class TimeServer extends Thread {
        private boolean interrupted = false;
        public ValueObject valueObject = new ValueObject();
        @Override
        public void run() {
            while (!interrupted) {
                try {
                    valueObject.setValue(Long.toString(System.currentTimeMillis()));
                    sleep(1000);
                } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
                    interrupted = true;
    }The ValueObject class which contains the values we want to bind in javafx:
    // ValueObject.java
    import java.util.Observable;
    public class ValueObject extends Observable {
        private String value;
        public String getValue() {
            return this.value;
        public void setValue(String value) {
            this.value = value;
            fireNotify();
        private void fireNotify() {
            setChanged();
            notifyObservers();
    }We also need an adapter class in JFX so we can use bind:
    // ValueObjectAdapter.fx
    import java.util.Observer;
    import java.util.Observable;
    public class ValueObjectAdapter extends Observer {
        public-read var value : String;
        public var valueObject : ValueObject
            on replace { valueObject.addObserver(this)}
        override function update(observable: Observable, arg: Object) {
             // We need to run every code in the JFX EDT
             // do not change if the update method can be called outside the Event Dispatch Thread!
             FX.deferAction(
                 function(): Void {
                    value = valueObject.getValue();
    }And finally the main JFX code which displays the canging value:
    // Main.fx
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.text.Text;
    import javafx.scene.text.Font;
    import threadbindfx.TimeServer;
    var timeServer : TimeServer;
    var valueObjectAdapter : ValueObjectAdapter = new ValueObjectAdapter();
    timeServer = new TimeServer();
    valueObjectAdapter.valueObject = timeServer.valueObject;
    timeServer.start();
    Stage {
        title: "Time Application"
        width: 250
        height: 80
        scene: Scene {
            content: Text {
                font : Font {
                    size : 24
                x : 10, y : 30
                content: bind valueObjectAdapter.value;
    }This approach uses less cpu time than constant polling, and changes aren't dependent on the polling interval.
    However this cannot be applied to code which you cannot change obviously.
    I hope this helps.
