Sending data in and out of flash

Hello,
I have a new project that I am trying to build. I want to be
able to send information into an swf file dynmaically, store it and
finally display it on that .swf file. In the past I used text files
(information obviously stored in the text file), but it will not
work this time because I want to change the information dynamically
on the web (html form).
I was thinking about setting up an html form that would post
data to a php page, and then send that info to the swf. My only
concern with ths method that data dosn't stay there. If I run the
.swf file before I use the form, the swf will compain that there is
no info. And thats sorta my point. I want to data to "be there",
and only changes if resend the form.

You need to have some location where the data is stored.
Reading data into a swf is dynamic and volitile. When you read data
into a swf you are only reading it into memory really, not into the
actual swf document. This means that anytime you reload the page
you are going to lose the data. This means you have to have
somelocation where the data is saved. In your previous experience
you did this via a text file.
Since you have access to a server with PHP you could have
your HTML/PHP form write out an XML document to the server. The swf
file would read in this XML everytime it loads. The XML document
would only ever change anytime you resubmit your HTML/PHP form and
the XML file is rewritten.
Of course you could jsut as easily write a text file out of
PHP and read it in like you have done previously. XML is simpler in
most cases.

I have a program need to load data files and store the float data values in 3 two dimentional array. These data files are generated from biological experiments and are quite large. For e.g., when I tried to load 59 files, each file has 409,600 rows and store these data in 3 Float[][] arrays, like following
pixel: Float[59][409600]
signal: Float[59][409600]
std: Float[59][409600]
I know the variables of float data type occupy 4 bytes in memory, is this true for the object of Float data type(the wrapper class for float)?
After cacluation, the total memory needed for the three 2D arrays are:
4 * 409600 * 59 * 3 = 276.6 (MB)
I'm using JBuilder 9 Personel and already set the parameter of -XmX as 800 MB, but I still get out of memory error in the middle of loading. Could you give a hand on this issue?

ok, you mean the Float object will take 24 bytes to
store in memory instead of 4 bytes needed for float
variable, right?Yes it's about 20 bytes per Float object. 4 for the actual float and about 16 in overhead. And then 4 bytes for the reference to the object in the array. So each float will occupy a total of about 24 bytes whereas a float just takes 4.

you get this information?Well an object stores the actual data and has an overhead of about 16 bytes so it's just to add it up -:) I use this as a rule of thumb. I don't remember anymore where I got it in the first place.

I've a class to create the table model by
subclassing the AbstractTableModel. Based on these
loaded raw data, I've to do other expensive operation
using different analysis methods. So maybe using the
built in data type is more effcient in my later
calcuations.It's always a tradeoff. Use float for fast calculations and raw storage, and Float otherwise for maximum object orientation.

Data load and out put problem

Hi Experts,
Iam going through a peculiar problem.I have data flowing from R/3 to master data Info provider 0Requi. I have validated the data between R/3 and the master data info provider, it is found to be good. This data is being loaded from 0Requi to a staging write optimized DSO. there are routines in the Transformations for the DSO. when I check and compare the data, I found that out of 625 records in the Source only 599 were available in the target, and out of 599 records 17 records are duplicate and 29 records have not been populated from source to target.
Any help to solve the issue will be highly appreciated and thanked with suitable points.

There was nothing in the error stack. Sy_Subrc in the routine was giving the problem. It has been rectified and the Data is loading fine in the development system.
Now I am in another peculiar situation.
The routines, after debugging, are working good in the development system but after transporting to Quality system for testing, they are failing there. Iam facing the same old problem there again. The transports are checked, they were done properly. The ABAPer is satisfied with the transported code. If you can then please guide me.Iam closing this thread and opening a new thread with Subject as " In different behavior of Routines"

AS2: Sending URL string, and recieving in flash on seperate page

i'm trying to send some data from a list component to another
web page, and have flash collect it and take you to an appropriate
frame... this is what i'm using to send the data

to use FlashVars and such, but only when you define it.. I don't

I would use the LoadVars class in that situation. Have you
checked into
that? Create an instance of LoadVars, then add properties to
your instance
to match whatever data you're sending. Invoke
LoadVars.sendAndLoad(), or
see the LoadVars class entry for additional options.

Both JavaScript and ActionScript have escape() and

Both the file and text values are included in the binary inputstream of the request. The parametermap is always empty.
There exist 3rd party API's to parse multipart/form-data streams, such as [Apache Commons FileUpload API|http://commons.apache.org/fileupload].

Passing Text Formatting Info. In and Out of Flash

Hi all,
We need to develop an application that involves formatted
text. We want to use dynamic text, where we pull in text from an
.as file at runtime. But when we do that we don't have the ability
to format the text. Are there ways (or tutorials that describe
them) to feed formatted text into Flash dynamically and still
preserve the formatting (bold, italics, text color, etc.). Our
ideal scenario is to have a web form (Flash or HTML-based) that
allows for formatting options (bold/italics/underline/text
color/size ,etc.), that we can store in a database, that we can
later connect to from Flash, where we pull in the formatted text in
at runtime.
Am I smoking crack? Can this be done? Any ideas on best
approaches? Tutorials?

Trying to get UTF-8 data in and out of an oracle.xdb.XMLType

I need to be able to put unicode text into an oracle.xdb.XMLType and
then get it back out. I'm so close but it's still not quite working.
Here's what I'm doing...

What I get from this is this...

In the above, [utf-8 bytes] represents the correctly encoded UTF-8 bytes that
were returned. But the output is missing the final closing bracket and the
newline at the end. It seems that no matter what second argument I give b.getBytes(),
it always returns the above. Even
It seems that this code...
BLOB b = xmlType.getBlobVal(871);
always returns a BLOB that contains a few bytes short of what it should contain.
What am I doint wrong? I'm sure I'm missing something here.

WE8ISO8859P1 does not support the ellipsis character. It is a WE8MSWIN1252 character. I wonder if your problem may have something to do with internal conversion to/from XML character reference (&#x2026). Unfortunately, I have no time to test. Please, try to use a simple loop and System.out.print to print all bytes of the return value of b.getBytes(1L, (int) b.length()). Also, check the value of b.length().

Sending data over and socket

when i send messages over socket and receive it using [line = in.readLine()/code]
if there is a \r\n it stops and makes u have to use readLine again to get the rest of the message
is there a way to send the message so it totally ignores the \r\n and i can just use readLine once to receive my complete string in one go
as this newline thing is very annoying

I assume in is of type BufferedReader? If so, that is the definition of readLine.
Other options:
You can use java.util.Scanner to scan until the next delimiter, which you can set.
You can use readUTF/writeUTF defined in interfaces DataInput/DataOut by
using classes DataInputStream/DataOutputStream or ObjectInpuitStream/ObjectOutputStream.
If you are using object stream, you could define any serializable objects you
like for transmission.

Does iTunes have to check all my music for match every time I open iTunes even when nothing has changed in the music folder? This is just one problem I have with iTunes and match. Every time I open iTunes, the first thing happening is iTunes checking my music and sending the information to Apple and then waiting for Apple to send back information about match. There is a third step that I have never seen iTunes actually reach as it always crashes before finishing this ritual with my music and match. Since I paid for match I can no longer use iTunes to listen to any of my music. I like having match function on my iPhone because even 128 GB is not enough space to keep a music library and everything else needed on the iPhone. But it's been a disaster with iTunes on my Windows 7 PC. I updated iTunes recently and the same problem continues. I can't find any clear description of how match works but it seems if there has been no change to the music folder then the tedious and buggy process of checking all music for match and sending data back and forth to Apple every time iTunes is used should not be necessary. Is there possibly something I have to change settings for to help iTunes start without so much to do?

If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Data Services and Data Quality Recommnded Install process

Hi Experts,
I have a few questions. We have some groups that have requested Data Quality be implemented along with another request for Data Services to be implemented. I've seen the requested for Data Services to be installed on the desktop, but from what I've read, it appears to be best to install this on the server side to allow for more of a central benefit to all.
My questions are:
1. Can Data Services (Server) install X.1 3.2 be installed on the same server as X.I 3.1 SP3 Enterprise?
2. Is the Data Services (CLIENT) Version dependent on if the Data Services (Server) install is completed? Basically can the u201CData Services Designeru201D be used without the Server install?
3. Do we require a new License key for this or can I use the Enterprise Server license key?
4. At this time we are not using this to move data in and out of SAP, just using this to read data that is coming from SAP.
From what I read, DATA Services comes with the SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator or SAP BusinessObjects Data Quality Management solutions. Right now it's seems we dont have a need for the SAP Connection supplement, but definetly something we would implement in the near future. What would be the recommended architecture? A new Server with tomcat and cmc (seperate from our current BOBJ Enterprise servers)? or can DataServices be installed on the same?

Hope you are referring to BOE 3.1 (Business Objects Enterprise) and BODS (Business Objects Data Services) installation on the same server machine.
Am not an expert on BODS installation.
But this is my observation :
We had recently tested on a test machine BOE BOXI 3.1 SP3 (full build) installation before upgrade of our BOE system.
We also have BODS in our environment.
Which we also wanted to check whether we could keep on the same server.
So on this test machine, which already has BOXI 3.1 SP3 build, when i installed BODS server installation,
what we observed was that,
all the menus of BOE went away
and only menus of BODS were seen.
May be BODS installation overwrites/ or uninstalls BOE, if it already exists ?
I dont know. Though i could not fine any documentation, saying that we cannot have BODS and BOE on the same server machine. But this is what we observed.
So we have kept BODS and BOE on 2 different machines running independently and we do not see any problem.

May you give more details about what is wrong with your dates ?
M…oSoft products aren't allowed on my machines but I use LibreOffice which is a clone of Office.
When I export from Numbers to Excel and open the result with LibreOffice, the dates are correctly treated.
To be precise, dates after 01/01/1904 are correctly treated. dates before 01/01/1904 are exported as strings but, as it's flagged during the export process, it's not surprising.

I don't know what is wrong. 
I have configured: 
- SLDCHECK work properly, 
- none of the users PI* type not lock, 
- password to the PI* users in exchangeProfile entered correctly, 
- In VA in the JCo RFC Provider I have properly configure: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER, LCRSAPRFC, SAPSLDAPI_SID - from the ABAP I can connect to this programs ID 
- In VA in SLD Data Supplier I have properly configure bookmarks HTTP Settings and CIM Client Generation Settings. CIMClient Test is OK 
 
I do not know what else I can see, what else I have properly configured ... I looked at the notes:: 936093 jak i 721548... 
 
 
2. I can't send data from XI to SLD, ie makes me a system definition in Web As Abap and Web as Java but nothing appear to me in Exchange Infrastructure. Exchange Infrastructure is empty - what is wrong??

I increased logging in the NWA (Configuration -> Log Configuration) - and increased the some things here to log ALL. So that from the NWA (Monitoring -> Logs and Traces) I see a little more information (but does not follow that with which the user is a problem).

I was most rash or irritation of those that say about the lack of credentials u2013 I must use Viusal Administrator and set good service ... 
 
What do I have done: 
In the Visual Administrator -> Cluster -> Server -> Services -> SLD Data Supplier 
I have set in the HTTP Settings tab the host and port SLD, the user name and password is also entered as it is in the SLD. To be sure, already have set for the user entered here such roles as: 
SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR 
SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR 
SAP_SLD_DEVELOPER 
SAP_SLD_GUEST 
SAP_SLD_ORGANIZER 
Maybe we are talking in this place about a different user? 
 
Similarly, when it comes to tab CIM Client Generation Settings - here's all the same thing done. CIMClient test shows that everything is OK. 
When I click the button: This trigger the transfer of data to the SLD gets the message that everything was shipped correctly. Indeed, I received an instance of JAVA in SLD 
Also clicked on this icon: Assign application roles to user group - got information that everything is attached properly. 
 
By ABAP side, the connections: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI, SAPSLDAPI, LCRSAPRFC, AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER and AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER work correctly, ie I can perform the test - which means that programs ID are properly positioned in JCO Provider in VA.

How do I adjust my titles so they don't fade in and out? I have hundreds of photos/videos on screen for a second or so each, for a year-long birthday video, and I need the dates in my titles to be steady rather than fading in and out spastically.

I have been working on a project since December of 2012 for my son's first birthday. Basically, it's a photo or quick video each day of his life so far. I used the "upper" title and made the titles not fade in and out, because that could give someone a seizure. The idea is a seamless title that ticks away each day. But in the new iMovie, it changed my settings, and I can't for the life of me find how to change them back.
Now, each date flashes in and out, in and out, in and out. Fractions of seconds go by. It's really distracting and annoying.
How do I get the titles to remain on screen and not fade in and out? I had it just how I wanted it, but now we're rapidly approaching my son's birthday, and the video is suddenly a mess.
How do I fix this?
