Sending email-based newsletters

Is there a way to send email-based newsletters using Mail. The newsletter has been designed in a popular WYSIWYG editor. I know there are lots of dos and dont attached to designing them and thats not what Im interested in learning. Everyone discusses sending them using outlook and entourage but rarely ever Mail - can it be done and how?

If you mean a newsletter composed with HTML then the answer is yes.
RTF with Tiger Mail is really HTML but Mail does not include an HTML composer/editor.
Save the completed HTML document created by the editor of choice.
Open the saved document with Safari.
At the Safari menu bar, go to File and select Mail Contents of This Page.
The document rendered with Safari will be copied to a new Mail.app message which will be sent in its entirety.

    If U are usingOracle db, then there is a plsql package called ut_mail. It has a procedure that sends emails :

    mime_type=>'text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-2'); If U want to do it in java, write application and use JavaMail.

    this is a template of a ps1 script i wrote. This will send the above email based on a specific event ID for the microsoft failover cluster / operational, say ID 5143 for example. My question is how do i include in that script to also include a copy of the
    log for that event ID in the body of the email ?

    You problem with this code is that the SMTPClient send method does not handle attachements.
    Instead, try creating the message, using the system.net.mail.mailmessage class to create the message.Then create a mail attachment. Finally, add the attachment to the message. This allows you to craate an attachment, then use the SMTPServer object to send
    that mail.
    The code should look something like this:
    $To      = "[email protected]"
    $From    = "[email protected]"
    $Subject = "Using the .NET SMTP client."
    $Body    = "Using this .NET feature, you can send an e-mail message from an application very easily."
    # Create mail message

    I tested this script on my system and it works. You may need to play around a bit with the attachment, in terms of content type, etc.

    I'm working on a SharePoint workflow in which data can be entered into a form and an email is then send to a supervisor for approval. I have this working successfully. Next, if this information is approved an email will be sent to one email address,
    if it is rejected it will be send to a different email address. This what I'm having trouble figuring out. What is the best way to accomplish this? I'm using SharePoint online via Office 365 and SharePoint Designer 2013 to create the workflows. I'm

  • Send Email based on choice

    I'm trying this in SharePoint designer but what I'm doing is creating an approval process for a 3rd party application using SharePoint (it's a workflow I'm setting up in SharePoint Designer). In this process the user has to choose different group that their
    access will give them. They can choose one or more groups. I've created the column and listed out all the different groups with check boxes.
    How would I check to see which item is flagged and based on if that item is flagged or not then it would start and approval process?
    Note: We do not have InfoPath.

    You can use the IF condition to check if the field in the current item contains a specific group name
    If CurrentItem:YourFieldName contains GroupA  set Variable:MyVariable to EmailGroupAIf CurrentItem:YourFieldName contains GroupB set Variable:MyVariable to [%Variable:MyVariable%]; EmailGroupBIf CurrentItem:YourFieldName contains GroupC set Variable:MyVariable to [%Variable:MyVariable%]; EmailGroupC
    Create such an IF statement for each Group. In the second and subsequent IF statements, use the String Builder dialog to concatenate the email group names.
    [%Variable:MyVariable%]; EmailGroupB
    You can then send an email and in the To field use MyVariable, which will contain all the groups.

    I have a page where a user checks all of the applications he wants to see updates on. Then when the people responsible for those applications create updates, I want to send an email to everyone who has checked that particular application.

    When the user selects these checkboxes where and how are they stored? Is that what goes in the column EMP.APPLICATION?
    The simplest way to look for values in a colon delimited array is like this

    Your function is built like it is going to pipe rows of a cursor out but in reality it is just returning an array type. It might work if you remove the pipelined stuff.

    Hi Guys
    My client would like to send email marketing/newsletters based on their website design.
    My question: what is the best/easiest way to send Dreamweaver designed html newsletters? What to avoid, what to make sure, how to avoid that it comes in the junk mailboxes, how do I make it "light" so they won't get 2MB in their mailboxes, how can I send it once it's finished?
    I work on Mac, and I have Safari, Firefox and Chrome installed. I remember sending newsletters was possible via Safari but can I also try this another way?

    HTML email can be a bit tricky, here's some of the do's and don'ts...
    Do:
    Use tables for layout
    Use absolute links to images stored on your server for any images in the email
    Use html text whenever possible
    Use a limited amount of inline css when necessary
    Use a service like http://www.constantcontact.com or http://www.icontact.com
    Don't:
    Use external .css files or embedded (in the <head> section) css
    Use css for layout
    Use only images
    Try to embed images or attachments
    Use reletive links for anything
    Use javascripts
    Expect it to function or look exactly like your website
    Send thousands of emails from a personal or corporate email account
    Because of the vast differences in email clients, it is pretty difficult to get "a page from your site" to function correctly via email. It's best to "dumb down" the html of the site to fit what I have above. There are other concerns to consider, but the above will cover most of the problems you'll run into and give you decent cross-client compatibility.
    The services I list above go even further to keep your email from being caught as spam, I highly recommend using them for both the creation and delivery of your email.

    How do I specify different emails for a form to send to based on different selections?
    Creating a form that can be sent to an email address is simple enoug but my problem I can't figure out.  There is a drop down menu on the form and based on what the user selects the form will be sent to 1 of 3 groups of email addresses.  How can I specify which group of email addresses belong to a particular dropdown menu selection?

  • BPMOn: Is it possible to send email notification to different groups based on filter value for IDOC?

                  I have setup the monitoring for idoc through interface monitoring and I am getting the alerts for the same. The alert is generated for different status values for the same idoc. Now my question is, is it possible to send email notification to two different groups based on the status values?? I mean for example , for a single idoc for some status values I want to send email notification to group1 only and for other status values I want to send notification to group2.Any help will be apperitiated.

    Rule Condition : Sales stage = "Inquiry" and modified date = Created date

    The above workflow will take care of New opportunties that are created and never modified
    I am having issues figuring out the logic for modified record

Please advise

    Your requirement is to send an email notification to an owner if the Opportunity remains with sales Stage = "Inquiry" for more than 90 days.
    New Record Saved.
    This means even the opportunity can be modified but the sales stage should not change. For e.g. when i create a new record, I can have the sales stage as "Inquiry" and save. At a later date I can modify the description of the opportunity (this would change the modified date), but the sales stage remains at Inquiry. Thus the notification should go 90 days after the sales stage has been set and not since last modified date. Keeping this in mind the condition the rule condition "Rule Condition : Sales stage = "Inquiry" and modified date = Created date" needs to be modified as Sales stage = "Inquiry".
    Coming to Modified Condition:
    Trigger Event - When Modified Record Saved

    Explanation
    When you set the sales Stage as "Inquiry", the condition (PRE('<SalesStage>')<>[<SalesStage>] AND [<SalesStage>]="Inquiry") would be satissfied and then the workflow would trigger. After 90 days if the sales stage is still in "Inquiry", the second part of the condition "[<SalesStage>]="Inquiry" would be satisfied and the email notification would be sent. If the sales stage has been changed to other sales stage, then the condition would fail and the notification would not be sent.

    I have created an Access Web App that I am hoping to add some functionality to. I am looking to provide email notification to different users from my organization (a field within the Access Table) when the current date approaches the renewal date (another
    field within the Access Table). I would also like to display all renewal dates on a SharePoint Calendar for users to see. Any advice on how to do this would be much appreciated.

    I'm not familiar with how Access Web Apps work. However, on the SharePoint side of things, it looks like a workflow will be your best bet. Are you using Visual Studio? I've created a few tutorials on sending email notifications in Visual Studio 2012. https://youtu.be/JFdiQEyDkEk

  • Loss of sending email using WIFI

    As of this morning 8-20-08, after updating to 2.02, I no longer am able to send emails using my own wireless network. Previously this was no problem. Neither Fido or Apple have any idea of what I am talking about. Fido washed their hands as they do not support WIFI. How convenient, they sell the phone and charge for the service but do not support it. Videotron, my ISP, thinks the issue is my wireless router but I can send via gmail so that's out. I resovled the problem by configuring my accounts to use my gmail smtp server as a second option and now the spinning wheel is short lived and messages are sent.
    I'm sorry to say that I had fallen for all the hype about Apple but truth is they are but a Microsoft wannabe.

    So here's the wierd thing.
    I was having the same problems. Set up SMTP for Videotron when at home using relais.videotron.ca SMTP with no authenticationon port 25 & all was good in the world. However when I went out, bang. Nothing. Couldn't send a mail for love nor money.
    Thought aboutit & changed settings to use relais.videotron.ca SMTP, but this time using authentication of vltl** / password credentials with no SSL (Videotron doesn't use SSL) and again everything was fine. Of course, when I got home again, bang. Everything fell over & no more mail sending foe me!
    So I figure, when I'm at home I'm on my trusted network at port 25, I don't need authentication and all is good, but when I'm out i'm seen as potential SPAM by port 25 on videotron & get blocked.
    Tried using port 587 instead when for both home & mobile but had no luck either.
    Then a strange thing happened. I'd resolved to having to set up 2 SMTP servers on my iPhone & switching between the two based on where I was. Pain in the a**, but there's always a trade off for early adopter technology So I set up my primary SMTP to use port 25 with no authentication, and a secondary server to use the same relais.videotron.ca outgoing server, but this time WITH authentication using vltl** \ password credentials.
    After a walk to the shop when I'd been on my secondary SMTP server (successfully sending & recieving) I came home & inadvertantly forgot to swith back to my primary SMTP. Recieved a mail & then responded with no problem!
    Net result, I now have a permanently switced off primary server & a permanently switched on secondary server which uses relais.videotron.ca details with vltl** \ password authentication credentials active (like I did on my old silver iPhone) & all is good in the world, both at home & out mobile, both for sending & recieving!
    Will field test some more tomorrow but it may be a 2.0.2 bug where ther primary server details fcuk up whereas the secondary server details are stable.
    So long as it works, who cares!
