Sending itab with different structure in form-perfomr

Hello,
I have a
perform generate_master tables itab1.
perform generate_master tables itab1.
form generate_master tables itab structure ?.
loop at itab into wa_itab.
lv_werks = wa_itab-werks.
endloop.
endform.
here the structure for wa_ will be different.
Can anyone help me with this.
Alternate solutions are welcome.
Regards
Renu

Hi Renu,
if you want to process tables of different structures in the form, you can
- pass the structure name
FORM generate_master
  changing itab type table
  using    strucname type tabname.
field-symbols:
  <rec1> type strucname1,
  <rec2> type strucname2.
  case strucname.
    when 'STRUCNAME1'.
    loop at itab assigning <rec1>.
      write: / <rec1>-field1.
    endloop.
    when 'STRUCNAME2'.
    loop at itab assigning <rec2>.
      write: / <rec2>-field2.
    endloop.
  endcase.
endform.
- try to find you fields and decide on success for this
FORM generate_master
  changing itab type table.
field-symbols:
  <rec> type any,
  <fld> type any,
  loop at itab assigning <rec>.
    assign component 'FIELD1' of structure  <rec> to <fld>.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
      write: / <fld>.
    endif.
    assign component 'FIELD2' of structure  <rec> to <fld>.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
      write: / <fld>.
    endif,
  endloop.
endform.
And then use
PERFORM CHANGING itab[].
Note:
LOOP AT itab ASSIGNING <field-symbol>.
is never slower, in most cases much faster than
LOOP AT itab INTO wa.
And you can never forget the MODIFY statement because you work with the table record directly.

  • Pass the internal table with different structures to the class module

    Hi ,
    I have created a class method to fill up the data in XML format. the method can be called from various programs with internal table with different structures. I want to pass it as dynamic How can I do that.
    I tried to declare that as type any.
    but not working.
    regards,
    Madhuri

    Hi,
    You could work with data reference.
    Use GET REFERENCE OF itab INTO data_ref for passing the internal table to your method, and dereference it within the method with ASSIGN statement...
    DATA: lr_data TYPE REF TO data.
    GET REFERENCE OF itab INTO lr_data.
    CALL METHOD meth EXPORTING pr_data = lr_data.
    METHOD meth.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs> TYPE ANY TABLE
      ASSIGN pr_data->* TO <fs>.
    ENDMETHOD.

    Hi,
    I listed some of my code at below.
    But i did not find attachFile method for messageBodyPart class.
    BodyPart messageBodyPart = new MimeBodyPart();
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(new MemoryDataSource(....getPDFObject())));
    messageBodyPart.attachFile("abc.pdf");
    messageBodyPart.setFileName("abc_2011_08_07.pdf");
    messageBodyPart.setHeader("Content-Type", "application/pdf");
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart);
    message.setContent(multipart);

  • Performance between two partitionned tables with different structure

    Hi,
    I would like if there is a difference between two partitionned tables with different structure in term of performance (access, query, insertions, updates ).
    I explain myself in detail :
    I have a table that stores one value every 10 minutes in a day (so we have 144 values (24*6) in the whole day), with the corresponding id.
    Here is the structure :
    | Table T1 |
    + id PK |
    + date PK |
    + sample1 |
    + sample2 |
    + ... |
    + sample144 |
    The table is partionned on the column date, with a partionned every months. The primary key is based on the columns (id, date).
    There is an additionnal index on the column (id) (is it useful ?).
    I would like to know if it is better to have a table with just (id, date, value) , so for one row in the first table we'll have 144 rows in the future? table. The partition will already be on the columns (id, date) with the index associated.
    What are the gains or loss in performance with this new structure ( access, DMLs , storage ) ?
    I discuss with the Java developers and they say it is simpler to manage in their code.

    I mean storage in tablespaces and datafiles on disk.
    Can you justify please and give me concrete arguments why the two structures are equivalent ( except inserting data in T(id, date,value))
    because i have to make a report.i didnt say any thing like
    two structures are equivalent ( except inserting data in T(id, date,value)i said
    About structure : TABLE1(id, date, value) is better than TABLE1(id, date, sample1, .... sample144)because
    1) oracle has restriction for numbers of column. Ok you can have 144 columns now but for future if you must have more than 1000 columns , what will you do?
    2) Restrictions on Table Compression (Table compression is not supported for tables with more than 255 columns.)
    3) store same type values on diffrent columns is bad practise

  • Copy values from model node to another model node with different structure

    Hi,
    I am getting detils from RFC1 and update some of the data into another RFC2.
    the first RFC1 having the strucutre
    context
    NodeName
    nodel
    arrtibutes
    the second RFC2 having the different strucutre
    context
    NodeName1
          | nodel2
               | arrtibutes2
               | arrtibutes3
          | nodel5
               | arrtibutes4
               | arrtibutes5
    I need to copy the values from first one to second one.
    Both are different structures.
    Can any one tel me how to do it.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi,
    Create 1 custom controllers for each Model.
    1.Cust COntroller1:
            Node one.
            ->Attr1(type:String)
            ->Attr2(type:long)
    2.Cust COntroller2
            Node one.
            ->Attr1(type:String)
            ->Attr2(type:long)
    Through the component controller only u can send the data by mapping.
    In component controller:
      Node one.
            ->Attr1(type:String)
            ->Attr2(type:long)
    Step1:Map the elements from custControler1.
    Before mapping make sure that u have data in CustController Context=>value node.
    (Note:cust controler node s model node means copy the elements to value node using copyservice)
    step2:Go to cust controller2 goto value node and map it.
    if ur nt getting,Plz let me knw,
    Thanxs,

  • How can i map a file with different structures to several deep structures?

    Hey experts,
    here is my situation. I have to build a file2file scenario. The file has a flat structure without any separators. Depending on the value of the keyfield, i have to determinate, which kind of structure in the current sequence there is. Like i wrote, there isn't any fieldseparator, but for every possible structure (overall 4 types) i know the type by the length of every field in the structure.
    My task is:
    1. Read the file into PI and transform to XML
    2. Map the flat structure depending on the keyvalue to the deep structure
    3. Transform several fields in the different structures like the requirement
    4. Write back the file via FTP as the same flat structure as before
    Do you have any approach to solve the item number 2 (the other steps are clear for me)?
    Do i need several mapping-programs? If so, how can i determinate the right mapping-program, deping on the keyvalue?
    Thanks in advance
    Tobi

  • Comparing Data between two tables with different structure

    Hi,
    I have 2 tables T1 and T2. Both tables have different structure. I have to check for rows missing in T1 which exist in T2 and vice-versa. I can do that using MINUS operator. But the part where the data exists in both T1 and T2, I have to compare some columns (9 columns the names of this column coming from a meta-data table) if they have same values. If not an exception has to be generated.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Whenever you need help on this forum, post:
    (1) The version of Oracle (and any other relevant software) you're using
    (2) A little sample data (just enough to show what the problem is) from all the relevant tables
    (3) The results you want from that data (4) Your best attempt so far
    Executable SQL statements (like "CREATE TABLE AS ..." or "INSERT ..." statements) are best for (2).
    Formatted tabular output is okay for (3). Type before and after the tabular text, to preserve spacing.
    What do you mean by "an exception has to be generated"?
    Do you want to raise an error?
    Do you want something to appear in the result set?
    MINUS finds rows that are in one result set, but not in another.
    INTERSECT finds rows that are in both result sets.
    Column names have to be hard-coded into the SQL statement.  If you want to write something now that will get column names from a metadata table sometime in the future, then you have to use dynamic SQL.  SQL*Plus sometimes has quick and dirty ways of doing dynamic SQL, so say whether you're using SQL*Plus or not.

  • Can sender file adapter read plain files with different structure?

    Hej experts,
    I am facing the following sutiation in FIle-to-Mail scenario:
    Bank sends two types of file : CONTRL and BANSTA to the same directory where XI shall  pick , map to other stucture  (mail structure ) and send mail.
    You can not identify the file type( CONTRL or BANSTA) from file name - only from file content.
    Would it be possible for XI to pick up file, check the structure and select the right XML structure to transform to?
    Any other solutions?
    Thak you for your help,
    Natlaiya

    You can not identify the file type( CONTRL or BANSTA) from file name - only from file content.
    Would it be possible for XI to pick up file, check the structure and select the right XML structure to transform to?
    If not wrong even XI/ PI cannot understand it.....if you say you can implement an adapter module to do the file conversion....even in that case you will need to know the file format....do you need to implement any conversion on the file?
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Two internal tables with different structures

    Hi Experts,
    I Have two internal tables.
    Table 1 structure:
    Name
    Age
    Table 2 structure :
    Name
    age
    branch
    Now the table 1 has some 5 data's and table 2 is empty.
    First i want to move that 5 data's from table 1 to table 2.
    Then the branch field is same for all records. its stored in a separate field called 'Branch'.
    finallay i need to move that branch to internal table 2 for all records.
    So the Table 2 should has five records and each record should have the branch.Its like,
    Name  Age Branch
    name1 10  ECE
    name2 10  ECE
    I didnt use with header line for both tables. In function module i declared as table parameter.
    Please give me a logic.
    Helps will be appreciated.

    Since the structure of yur both internal table is different so you can't use ITAB1[] = ITAB2[] statements.
    In this  case you have to  loop on first table then move data into second table and appned data into second table.
    Declare work area for both table with like line of statement as follows
    data: wa_itab1 like line of itab1,
              wa_itab2 like line of itab2.
    Loop at ita1 into wa_itab1.
    wa_itab2-name = wa_itab1-name.
    wa_itab2-age = wa_itab1-age.
    wa_itab2-branch = 'ECE'.
    append wa_itab to itab2.
    clear wa_itab1, wa_itab2.
    endloop.
    Hope this will solve your problem.

  • Stop sending messages with different fonts!

    Hello,
    I need some help. I started using Apple Mail recently and I like it alright. My main issue is that when I cut and paste from my browser or from anywhere else really, the program is preserving the font though I can't see that it is. When I get a response from somebody that I sent a message to, I see 2 or 3 different fonts and/or sizes. They only way I have figured out how to deal with this is an ugly fix. I have to open the font panel with every email and manually choose the right font and font size. Annoying! Any fix available? It look really unprofessional!
    Thanks,
    Jared

    When you paste the text, instead of the old cmd+v, go to Edit menu and use Paste and Match Style, this should ignore the original font/color and use the current one in your mail. Or if you want to just send plain text email, you can go to Format > make plain text, this will strip all formatting even if you pasted in.

  • Flatfiles with different structures to one IDoc

    Hi,
    I did'nt found any valuable information about an N:1 scenario where 2 Flatfiles are to be mapped to one IDoc.So, some elements of the Message1 should be mapped with some segments of the idoc and some elements of the Message2 should be mapped with other segments of the same Idoc.I've seen also the patterns of the SWCV SAP BASIS 7.00.It's clear that I should use forks with correlation for the two messages.But I don't know it would be the Messge Mapping that makes the N:1 Transformation step.Every where i.e blogs,forums the flatfiles have the same structure.
    I would be grateful for some precise suggestions
    Thanks
    George

    Hi,
    In the message mapping we can do in the below mentioned way.
    In the message mapping we have 3 tabs, Design, Test and Messages. By default it is Design, now you select Messages tab, and add the 2 source(flat) files by using the add(+) symbol. now your sender contains 2 flat files and just drag and drop the required idoc at the receiver side and do the mapping as usual.

  • Querying a date field with different masks in form and database

    Dear friends,
    I have a field with date format mask dd/mm/yyyy hh24:mi:ss, but the same field has date format dd/mm/yyyy inside the form which queries it.
    If I run this form, obviously I will query this date in dd/mm/yyyy format mask, but this date is not being found because it doesn't include hh24:mi:ss (hour) from the database field.
    How can I solve this problem? I tried to change my form, putting a format mask with hours, but it requires me to query this date with time, and obviously no one needs to know the exact moment (with seconds!) when the date was recorded in the database.
    Thanks, and best regards,
    Franklin

    Franklin,
    You could instruct your users to use the '%' when they enter a date search criteria. Another alternative would be to programatically add the '%' to the date. Also, if your Block based on a view you could alter the vuew to use TRUNC() on the date field to drop the time.
    Another option would be to use the Pre-Query trigger to modify the Block WHERE clause to: TRUNC(date_field) = :block.date_field.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to copy data in a table to another table with different structure

    Hi,
    I am having a table Employee with fields EID, ENAME and Age
    i want to insert the values into another table Employee1 with fields
    EID,ENAME,AGE and address. (Address can be null)
    Can anyone provide the sql query to do this.

    I would say, just copy the orignal table and add a column to Employee1.
    To copy the table:
    CREATE TABLE Employee1
    AS (SELECT EID, ENAME, Age
    FROM Employee);
    Then add the column address:
    ALTER TABLE Employee1 ADD address varchar2(50);
    I am just started working with Oracle DB and sql so their maybe a better solution when the alter table is not needed.
