Sequencially marking tables and illustrations?,, so that they auto re-number when rearranged?,,
Help!
I am now being tasked (and time crunched under the gun-Argh!) to drastically re-arrange and revise some of our larger technical documents which are loaded with tables and diagrams and illustrations and graphs (etc). The person whom used to do this muscled her way thru them by just renaming them, but often there are sentences that say 'See Table 14' that then becomes a painful mis leads.
I know that InDesign must have this feature,, to sequencially tag a line of text somehow,, so that if pages are re-arranged, that text re-numbers according to sequence,, but I don't even know what this auto re-numbering function is called,,!!! So it's hard to look it up.
Can someone give me some direction in this? All of our technical documents should be set up this way! I am surprised that they are not. I have a huge task ahead of me, once I figure out how to do it.

You can number graphs, illustrations etc. using Bullets and Numbering in the paragraph styles.
You can make a new list type for each different item, like graphs, and a list type for illustrations etc.

You could prefix the Numbering with "Figure " or "Illustration " etc.
You can then use Cross References to link the place in text to the appropriate image.

Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals. -
I had to restore my iPhone 4 and now all my pictures are gone. I don't have them backed up to my laptop, and I thought that they automatically backed up to iCloud but I'm not sure. I had a lot of pictures that i desperately want to get back PLEASE HELP
You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Nothing should only be on your iphone. You should keep everything on your computer.
If you have failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try restoring from backup. -
iMac desktop using OS X Lion. When I type figures in a table in my email. They look straight but when I sent it, they look crooked. How to prevent it? Do I need to pre-type it on excel and copy and paste it in my email but it takes time and troublesome.
Send the table as an attachment, either a spreadsheet (if the recipient needs to be able to edit it) or a PDF.

I can't find my notes in my iCloud account. I checked my iPhone 4, and it says that they are still being saved to the iCloud. Where did they go?
I'm not familiar with the PC end of things, but in a recent post I read about someone using notes.exe to access notes (I'm assuming they knew what they were talking about) - would your installation of icloud app(s) include a notes program? At least do this, log into icloud.com with a computer browser and look in mail. There should be a notes "folder" listed along with the others you may have defined. Are you notes there? If not, that's the problem. Be sure notes is turned on in Settings>icloud on your device. if they are there, then it looks like the PC end is the problem - but I can't provide help concerning that.

I just upgrade from the 4 to 5s. Are my apps supposed to transfer over and perhaps it just takes time to load like my email and pitures are? I tried to install apps and it showed that they are already installed. What do I do to get them to show up?

If your restored from a backup and the apps that are missing on the device show "Open" in the App Store, then they are located on other pages on your iPhone or are in folders. Also, with the iOS 7 update most developers have changed icon badging. This can cause some applications to be difficult to find.

Is this possible?You can set any song to Skip when shuffling.
In your iTunes Library, highlight the song and right-click/Get Info. On the Options tab is the Skip when shuffling box. Select that and then Sync the iPod with your Library. -

Help!Versions of Word on Windows make a backup file with the extension .abk, if that has been enabled in their options, I do not know whether the Mac versions do, or whether you enabled it but try using Spotlight to search for .abk or just abk.

I searched through the forum and cant find anything.
I have around 300 published reports on SSRS and we are busy migrating to a new system.
They have already setup their tables on the new system and I need to provide them with a list of table names and column names that are being used currently to generate the 300 reports on SSRS.
We use various tables and databases to generate these reports, and will take me forever to go through each query to get this info.
Is it at all possible to write a query in SQL 2008 that will give me all the table names and columns being used?

Andre.There's no straightforward method for that I guess. There are couple of things you can use to get these details
1. query the ReportServer.dbo.Catalog table
for getting details
you may use script below for that

2. Another method is to run the reports and run sql profiler trace on background to retrieve queries used.
But in some of these cases the report might be using a procedure and you will get only procedure. Then its upto you to get the other details from procedure like tables used, columns etc

How to set up recordings of audio and video so that they will sync
I'm editing footage of a dance concert that used CDs for some of the dances and a live pianist for the remainder. In addition to the audio captured by the camera, I have all the CDs that were used and an additional audio recording of the piano that sounds much better than what was captured by the camera. I would like to use to mix the audio from the camera with the audio from the CDs and the additional recording of the piano, but the sources won't sync properly, since the camera, the CD player, and the audio recorder all run at slightly different speeds. For example, if I zoom in and line up the CD audio with the camera audio at the beginning of a song that lasts 3:21, at the end of the song the CD audio is late by about 11 frames. That's enough that I can't use the camera audio as ambient sound, and enough that the dancers are noticeably ahead of the music (by 11 frames).
I know I could time-correct my sources so that they will sync, but I'm wondering how to avoid this problem in the future.

On most professional recording or editing environments we try to run a sync signal to all the devices. Many of the audio recorders out there are not equipped to accept or send sync. For that matter, neither are the consumer and prosumer cameras. That's one of the many things dividing pro from non-pro.
Wild sync , just running at a true and constant speed, is a lot easier now than " in the day." but one still sees issues like you have when not running sync between devices. -
SharePoint 2013 users only see custom list and document lists that they uniquely created
In my first SharePoint 2013 project, I want to create a view where users can only see their own files that they generated. I think I know how to create this view when the list is associated with the 'Documents; folder. However I have created several custom
lists where I can only see these items when I am on the navigation pane to the right and the unique custom lists are listed under 'recent'.
Let me know if you can answer any of the following questions:
1. When on the main SharePoint website, can lists be displayed in other locations than what I just listed? If so, where would I see these other lists?
2. I would like to include the custom lists that are located in the 'recent' navigation pane as a view that only I can use. This would be based upon userid. If this is possible, how would you combine the lists lists in the same view? If this is not possible,
how would you set a view just for the lists listed under the 'recent' section?
3. The content approval solution under versioning settings of a library to restrict the documents to only ones that the user created (and also Approver rights). Then if they create a new view they still won't see the documents that were not created by
them. What about custom lists that are not in the documents area but are in the 'recent' area? Would this restrict users to see only items that they created?
4. Item level Permissions in advance settings solve this problem for the list in the document area and the custom list in the recent area? If so, how would you setup these values?As it turns out the, setting Item-Level Permissions in a library is fully supported with PowerShell!
The PowerShell commands for changing this are very simple:
$web = Get-SPWeb http://YourSite/
$list = $web.Lists[“Your Document Library Name”]
$list.ReadSecurity = 2
$list.Update()
$web.Dispose()
Note the 3rd line which is where you determine the value for this setting using the following values:
1 = “Read all items”
2 = “Read items that were created by the user”
If you wish to modify the values for Create and Edit access instead, replace .ReadSecurity with .WriteSecurity with
the following values:
1 = “Create and edit All items”
2 = “Create items and edit items that were created by the user”
4 = “None”
For example:
$web = Get-SPWeb http://YourSite/
$list = $web.Lists[“Your Document Library Name”]
$list.WriteSecurity = 2
$list.Update()
$web.Dispose()

I have a db, call it xyz.mdb
It suddenly is that SSMS is not listing the table objects nor the Views. SELECT * FROM sys.Tables and SELECT * FROM sys.Views work very fine. But when I click on the tables node, on Objects Explorer, Only the Systems Tables and File Tables folders
show.
Other DBs on same SQL instance do not show same problem. They are all working very fine.
I have backed up and restored this db on other computers and the behaviour is the same. Incidentally right-clicking the db and clicking Properties throws up this error message.
