Server discovery failed

when I tried to install new UCS B200M4 the discovery of the blades failed as shown in the attached images
but when inserting B200M3 it discovered automatically in the chassis as in fig. error 3

Seems like you are not running 2.2.3a (or later) for UCSM  The release notes:  http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/release/notes/ucs_2_2_rn.html#pgfId-238846  under  "New Hardware Features in Release 2.2" shows that is the version that will make UCSM recognize the new M4 servers.
If this is the answer to your issue, please mark it as such for future users to find their answer as well.

  • OVM server Discovery fails

When I attempt to discover one of my OVM servers I'm getting a python(?) error during the storage discovery phase.
Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?
    Thanks!

    End of Job
    ----------

This is usually due to either of the following issues (not enough information to determine if this is your problem):
    1. The IP addresses you are using as the IPs for the Oracle VM servers being discovered are somehow incorrect. For instance, I sometimes typo one of the octets in the IP address IE: I meant to type 10.11.12.100, but instead messed up the third octet by typing a "21" instead of a "12" (just an example).
    2. The password you provided for the "Oracle VM Agent Password" in the discovery dialog is incorrect. There are several reasons this may be happening, but the way to ensure the ovs-agent has the same password you think it should is by logging into each Oracle VM server and changing the ovs-agent password for BOTH "admin" AND "oracle" users. This is done using the following command on each Oracle VM server:
    /usr/sbin/ovs-agent-passwd admin
    /usr/sbin/ovs-agent-passwd oracle
Both of the above will prompt for a password - use the same password for both and ensure you do this on all your Oracle VM servers.
Here is how you verify that the passwords you just changed work:
    /opt/ovs-agent-3.0/utils/do_rpc.py https://admin:<new passwd>@<your OVM server>:8899 echo ""
    /opt/ovs-agent-3.0/utils/do_rpc.py https://oracle:<new passwd>@<your OVM server>:8899 echo ""
The above commands will return the following if the passwords are correct (anything else, no matter what error it returns means the password is not what you expect it to be):
    echo [''] =>
    success:echo=
    Hope this answer helps...

  • UCS C-Series Server discovery with UCSM integration failed

    Hi, i try to install C460M2 and a C260M2 via fex 2232PP
Because we are waiting for delivery of VIC Cards I have to install the Servers via 2 wire.
This means I connected each Server with the 2 LOM gigabit ports to the nexus 2232PP (one port ono each nexus), and I also connected the 10 ge LOM to each of the nexus 2232PP.
My problem is the nexus 2232 are discovered, but no one of my servers get discovered. All Ports have link up, I can not find any log message on discovery error.
I know the 10 GE Server Ports are not supported, but I think the servers should get discovered.
Does anybody have an idea, wherecan I find all logg information and what filter ist suggested ?
    Best Regards Alois

    Hi Keny,
I tried to powercycle both servers (c260M2 and C460M2) but still no discovered server and also no logg.
    I checked
Rack Server Discovery Policy == immediate
Rack management Connecton Policy == Auto Achnowledged
    Chassis/Fex Doscovery Policy == 2 Link and Port-Channel (As I installed 2232PP I moved to Port Channel)
I am running UCSM Version 2.1(1e)
    FI 6248 Version 5.0(3)N2(2.11e)
2232PP run on same as FI
I also have a connected 5108 with IOM 2104 running on 2.1(1e) Version.
CIMC Version of C260M2 and C460M2 will be checked tomorrow when my kolleague is in the datacenter.
Server Connection is not really the same like in http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c-series_integration/ucsm2.1/b_UCSM2-1_C-Integration_chapter_011.html
Because I still have no VIC Card but the connections are the same.

    C260 10 GE LOM2 (PCIE Slot4) <-> FEX3 Port 12
GE LOM ist position 13 and 10 GE LOM is position 11 in the techspech of c260

With C260 I also tried a reboot with disconnected 10 GE Ports, but also no discoverd Server until now.

  • Untrusted Forest Discovery failed

I'm having a issue with remote untrusted forest.  Forest Discovery fails, but I can publish site server information to this forest.
ERROR: [ForestDiscoveryAgent]: Failed to connect to forest domain.com. This can be because of disjoint DNS namespaces, network connectivity or server availibility issue. Error Information The specified forest does not exist or cannot be contacted.
    Entering function ReportForestConnectionFailureStatusMessage()
    Calling ReportStatus, keys= SMS_AD_FOREST_DISCOVERY_MANAGER, -2147474744, 2
I have configured conditional forwarders between forests and name resolution works. There shouldn't be any firewall issues either and I tested SRV records via nslookup with this method
Type nslookup, and then press ENTER.
Type set type=all, and then press ENTER.
Type _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.<var>Domain_Name</var>, where <var>Domain_Name</var> is the name of your domain, and then press ENTER.
Nslookup lists correct domain controllers from remote forest.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I think it's AD related problem.

    LDAP://DCNAME.domain.com/OU=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com
I tested this last week and this works. Now I can discover computer objects from untrusted forest. There must be something wrong with the ad/dns infrastructure becasue
normally you dont need to specify domain controller directly because it should find it with srvlookup.

  • Managed server discovery problem

    I'm running WL 6.0 sp1 on Solaris 2.7.
I have my admin server discover=true. I start this up, with all my other servers in the domain
down, and get a bunch of can't-find-server warnings, which is fine. But then I get a null ptr
exception and the server shuts down!
If I manually cleaned up running-managed-servers.xml, then my admin server runs again, but obviously
I do not want to manually maintain this file!

    I'm running WL 6.0 sp1 on Solaris 2.7.
I have my admin server discover=true. I start this up, with all my other servers in the domain
down, and get a bunch of can't-find-server warnings, which is fine. But then I get a null ptr
exception and the server shuts down!
If I manually cleaned up running-managed-servers.xml, then my admin server runs again, but
    obviously
I do not want to manually maintain this file!

  • Discovery Failed: VNI-4026: Discovery failed: Error while transfer**URGENT*

    Hi Fellows,
I had a server with one database only. It was discovered and running fine in OEM using Oracle Management Server. I created one more database in this server and created a service. Now I can see this database when I use OEM with stand alone option. But when I try OEM Oracle Management Server and I try to discover new database, it gives me the following error:
Discovery Failed: VNI-4026: Discovery failed: Error while transferring services.ora
I ping agent and it is okay. I checked the status of Listner which is fine too. If listner is not fine I should not be able to connect.
Note: the database which I already had on the server is working absolutely fine.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ghulam Mustafa Butt

    Hi,
I was out of office yesterday. Sorry for the link.
Here is the content of that link:
goal: How to confirm DNS hostname resolution
    fact: Generic Platform
    fix:
    1. Find the hostname of the box:
         % hostname
    2. Perform nslookup on hostname
         % nslookup <hostname>
Type in the hostname exactly as it is displayed in step 1
nslookup returns 4 or more lines of information in this format:
Server: <hostname.domain of the dns server>
Address: <ip address for the dns server>
              Name: <hostname.domain for this box>
Address: <ip address for this box>
    3. Perform nslookup on host IP address
         % nslookup <ip addr>
Use the ip address found on the 4th line in step 2
Exactly the same lines of info as in step 2 should be returned
    4. Perform nslookup on host name of target system
         % nslookup <hostname>
Exactly the same 4 lines should be returned as though nslookup were done on
    the other box
    5. Perform nslookup on IP address of target system
         % nslookup <ip addr>
Exactly the same 4 lines should be returned as though nslookup were done on
    the other box

  • Discovery Failed: VD-4564 error

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle 9i Server in my machine. While installing, I checked the option to create a database using database configuration assistant, and to create a separate new repository for management server.
The installations were successful, and here are the database details:
=== Database created using database configuration assistant details ===
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=incdw2k062)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL)))
=== Management Repository database details ===
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=incdw2k062)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=OEMREP.systechin.com))
The problem i am facing is described here:
I was able to view both the databases in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console, Standalone.
However, I am not able to view the same in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console, Administrator:SYSMAN, Management Server:incdw2k062.systechin.com
I tried to add the database through discover node option. But, it failed. I am getting the error: "Discovery Failed: VD-4564"
Please help me in resolving this issue. I am a newbie to ORACLE.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Deepak Natarajan.

    Hi,
I couldn't get it. I am not pretty sure of how I configured it.
All I know is, it took my system name in the network as my host id. Once again I am giving the configuration details below:
=== Database created using database configuration assistant details ===
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=incdw2k062)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL)))
=== Management Repository database details ===
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=incdw2k062)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=OEMREP.systechin.com))
Please tell me in steps to resolve the problem.
    Regards,
    Deepak Natarajan.

This might mean LDAP users cannot log in.
Make sure the DNS server contains the Active Directory service
records for the forest. Make sure a Global Catalog server is available.
    Why the error occurred ?
What is the resolution to this error ?
    Appreciate any help. Thanks.

This error message is telling you that SGD failed to find any site objects in your AD tree. This should not stop users from logging in, it will just mean that SGD will not be able to work out which AD site is local to the SGD server.
If you are not using sites in your AD setup, then you do not need to worry about this.
    Hope this helps,
    DD

I found an oracle note with the next solution:
Add -Xverify:none to the JVM Arguments in the WebLogic console if you're using Node Manager to start managed servers:
    1. Go into WebLogic Console
    2. Navigate to Environment> Servers> [Sever_name]> Server Start> Arguments
    3. Add -Xverify:none to the arguments
    4. Restart the WebLogic server
    5. Retest the issue.
    6. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.
    Or
If you're not using Node Manager to start managed servers:
Edit the WebLogic start-up script to add -Xverify:none to the JVM arguments
See if it works for you

  • Report generation: server execution failed

the app has been running for months. IS dept just upgraded machines and software. NT4.0 is now Win2000 and Office 97 is now Office2000. Report generation tool kit is not happy. Even running NI examples I get error -2146959355 server execution failed in Font Style.vi

Searching the Microsoft's web site, I found some info on this error:
If you have never had Norton AntiVirus installed on your computer, follow the following instructions:
    1. Open up the specific VI causing Error 2146959355
    2. Recompile this VI by pressing the Run arrow while holding down the CTRL and SHIFT keys
    3. Go to File Save All
    4. Run the VI
If you are using Norton AntiVirus 2000 with Microsoft Word 2000, follow these instructions:
Note: This information was provided by http://support.microsoft.com. Please use these instructions at your own risk.
    1. Select Start Run
    2. If Norton AntiVirus is installed as a stand alone application, type:
    regsvr32 -u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"
If this is successful, you will receive:
    DllUnregisterServer in C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\OfficeAV.dll succeeded.
If Norton AntiVirus is installed as a component of SystemWorks, type:
    regsvr32 -u "c:\program files\norton systemworks\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"
If this is successful, you will receive:
    DllUnregisterServer in C:\Program Files\Norton Systemworks\Norton AntiVirus\OfficeAV.dll succeeded.
    3. Click OK
Microsoft notes that in some cases you must rename the oleaut32.dll and reinstall Office 2000. Renaming oleaut32.dll usually requires that you boot your computer in MS-DOS mode.
    - Navigate to the directory where oleutt32.dll is located (usually C:\windows\system32) using the cd DOS command.
    - Type: rename oleaut32.dll renamed_oleaut32.dll and press Enter
    - Reinstall Microsoft Office
Note: This problem seems to still exist with Office 2002.
    1. Unfortunately, this is how the activeX works. If Microsoft changes the activeX objects from one Office version to another, the executable built with Office97 will not work with Office2000. You will have to recompile your VI into the executable on a machine with Office2000 and toolkit configured for this version.
    2. For the error "server execution failed" with Text Report Example, select File VI Properties. Select "Execution" from the category box and set the "Preferred Execution" to user interface. This should solve the problem.

  • Error -32810 occurred at The FieldPoint server initialization failed. Possible causes: 1. Missing or corrupt configuration file; 2. Failed to create callbacks. : FP Open.vi

I have two cFP-2120 RT controller. They both have NI-Serial RT2.5.6, DataSocket for LV RT4.2, NI-VISA 3.6, FP Drivers 5.1.0, FP VI Manager 3.1.0 LV RT 7.1.1 installed. But one same vi can run on one controller but not another.
the error message got when it runs on another controller is "Error -32810 occurred at  The FieldPoint server initialization failed. Possible causes: 1. Missing or corrupt configuration file; 2. Failed to create callbacks. : FP Open.vi"
I wonder by what it is caused?
    Thanks

    Hi Matthew,
As mentioned previously, this KnowledgeBase article may be of some help. Also, if your code is being run on an embedded controller and then a network controller (not embedded), you will need to run the program differently. On the embedded controller, you should deploy your VI in a Project Explorer or programmatically (as described here.) However, you do not need to deploy the program to a network controller, but simply run the VI.
I would also suggest creating a new .IAK file. Do you still see the same error? Also, double-check that the software installed on the controller matches the software installed on the host PC. If you have any file paths associated with one FieldPoint controller, ensure that you are changing them to match the second controller.
Please keep us posted on your troubleshooting steps. Have a great day!

  • Error -2146959355 server execution failed on ActiveX Invoke Node?

I wrote a VI to reload all the module prototypes
of the steps in a TestStand sequence (note: all code modules are
LabView VI's).  Whenever it gets to the LabViewModule.LoadPrototype
call, I get a "server execution failed" error (error code -2146959355).
I've tried solutions 1-3 in the following document to no avail:
Why Do I Get Error -2146959355 When Using ActiveX or the Report Generation Toolkit?
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/1c025f018cb5761686256c56007dd258
Any ideas as to what else I can do?
    (Incidentally,
if anyone has a clue as to what reference is causing a "References to
PropertyObjects were not released properly" warning dialog... please do
    say).
    Thanks,
    Melissa

    Hi Melissa,
I think it would be a better option for you to perform this task in TestStand. See the attached example that is tested and works on reloading LabVIEW module prototypes.
    Hope this helps!

Every now and then (every 15 minutes-half an hour or so), my internet fails. It says in the Diagnostics that the internet and server have failed. Happens on my sister's mac as well. Is this our modem? Our PCs don't do this so it has something to do with the macs.

    Hi Patrick,
I'm starting to think it's either an AirPort card issue or something to do with the Mac OS. I have stopped using wireless as much as possible in my home (have wired up several new Ethernet outlets), and it sure is nice having Internet run at the speed it's supposed to all the time, and with no drops. Might be something to consider.
    In the meantime:
Open System Preferences > Network > select AirPort > click on Advanced > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6 > Off > OK > Apply > Turn AirPort Off > Turn AirPort On
    Open System Preferences > Network > select Ethernet > click on Advanced > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6 > Off > OK > Apply
(FOR LION: If you can’t see an option to turn ipv6 off, set it to link-local only.)

  • How do I set the "When an OCSP server connection fails, treat the certificate as invalid" in Firefox for Android?

Due to the security concerns from Heartbleed and Steve Gibson's excellent coverage on certification revocation, I have set "When an OCSP server connection fails, treat the certificate as invalid" on my desktop Firefox and now want to do the same on Firefox for Android. I cannot find anything in the settings menu to allow this. Is it done through about:config and if so, what is the setting name there?

hello mcvickerp, in about:config you can switch the setting "security.OCSP.require" to true.
