Server exception when calling Naming.rebind()  method

Hello,
I'm new at RMI and seem couldn't figure out a solution to my problem.
I'm calling Naming.rebind(...) in my code and got the exception below.
I'm not sure what's going on. Could somebody please advice?
com.myPackage.myClassRemote (this is not the original name) is my remote interface that is going to be used by clients side.
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Malcom -
This is an interesting problem that I could find no bugs or notes about. I hate to say it, but it sounds like the type of issue you will need to call Oracle Support on. Sounds like the type of thing that may need a test case and is too detailed for the forum.
The only thing I could think of to even suggest (which I am sure you have already done) is make sure that you make it GLOBAL so that if you come back to it will still be there. I guess there is the possibility that when it works is because it has not yet been garbage collected.

  • NO_PERMISSION Exception when calling secured EJB-methods

    In WL6.1, I have an Ejb with secured methods. The (Swing) client application accesses the Ejb through rmi-iiop using the JDK1.3.1 Orb.
    Unfortunately, it seems that the caller identity (which was supplied in the InitialContext lookup) is not propagated
    to the server: any call to a secured method
    fails with a CORBA NO_PERMISSION Exception.
    Non secured methods work fine.
    Using the t3 protocol the program also works fine, but that would require
    the 25Mb weblogic.jar on all clients,
    which is unattainable for us.
    Any ideas how this situation can be corrected?
    -Allard Siemelink

    I am still getting the NO_PERMISSION Exception when using "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory".
    We use Sun's JRE, version 1.3.1_01.
    Am I forgetting something?
    My code is as follows:
    InitialContext context = null;
    try {
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    ht.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:80");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "system");
    ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "system_password");
    context = new InitialContext(ht);
    Object objHome = context.lookup(EJB_NAME);
    MyHome myHome = (MyHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objHome, MyHome.class);
    MyRemote myRemote = myHome.create();
    //NEXT LINE Crashes when method is secured:
    myRemote.securedMethod();
    finally {
    if (context!=null) context.close();

    <p>I just wanted to provide an update to this. I did find a work-around for this, but I cannot explain it. The post I added to a related thread on 23 Sept. 2009, Trying to change the data source for a Crystal Report. (thread 1472257), explains a work-around I found for that problem. It seemed to resolve this one simultaneously.

    I don't know why it works. If anyone has a comment or some insight, it is welcome. Thank you in advance.

  • Marshall exception when calling a remote business method in EJB

    Hi,
    From a java client, i am calling a business method from a ejb. the home and remote interface object is sucessfully received at the client. but at the time of calling the remote business method the following error occurs.
    java.rmi.RemoteException: ; nested exception is:
    weblogic.rmi.ServerException: A remote exception occurred while executing the method on the
    remote object
    - with nested exception:
    [weblogic.rmi.MarshalException: error marshalling return
    - with nested exception:
    [java.io.NotSerializableException: java.util.Vector$1]]
    java.io.NotSerializableException: java.util.Vector$1
    the business method returns an enumeration object.
    How to solve this?
    -chidam

    hi chidambaresh,
    you could have sent this to me directly.
    the Enumeration si an interface and so the object we get during the runtime is basically an object of some implementation of this interface.
    the Enumeration you get from HAshtable is actually Serializable.
    but the Enumeration you actually get from Vector (this is actaully an inner class of Vector viz., Vector$1) is not serializable. that is what the error you are getting.

  • Getting 500 Internal Server error when calling createUrlwidget

    We are using API version 9. I currently have an ASP.net/C# application that sends documents to echosign, and that works fine. I'm trying to create a new web application that creates a widget, so the user can be presented with the document to sign. I am calling the createUrlwidget method, but getting an internal server error, and I don't know why.
    Here's my code  (the url I use to call the service is https://secure.echosign.com/services/EchoSignDocumentService9)
    The error occurs below on the line:
                using (StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(req.GetRequestStream()))
                    sw.Write(message);
    try
                    XmlDocument xRequest = BuildEchosignWidgetRequest(byteMyFile);  //build soap envelope
                    XmlDocument xResponse = SendRequest("createUrlWidget", xRequest);
                    XmlNodeList xSuccess = xResponse.GetElementsByTagName("success");
                    if (xSuccess[0].InnerText == "true")
                        XmlNodeList xUrl = xResponse.GetElementsByTagName("url");
                        string strURL = xUrl[0].InnerText; //the response xml
                        Response.Redirect(strURL); //launch the widget
                    else  //we got an error
                        XmlNodeList xError = xResponse.GetElementsByTagName("errorMessage");
                        string strErrorMessage = xError[0].InnerText;
                        throw new Exception("Unable to create Echosign Widget;" + strErrorMessage);
                catch (Exception ex)
                    lblErrorMessage.Text = "Error: Unable to send document for signature(s).\n" + ex.Message;
    private XmlDocument SendRequest(string operation, XmlDocument xRequest)
                XmlDocument functionReturnValue = default(XmlDocument);
                functionReturnValue = null;
                string message = xRequest.OuterXml; //soap envelope
                WebRequest req = HttpWebRequest.Create(System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings[QueryStringCo nstants.EchoSignWebServiceURL]);
                req.ContentLength = message.Length;
                req.ContentType = "text/xml; charset=UTF-8";
                req.Headers.Add("SOAPAction", "\"\"");
                req.Method = "POST";
                req.Proxy = null;
                req.Timeout = 1000 * 60;
                //this is where the web service call is finally made
                using (StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(req.GetRequestStream()))
                    sw.Write(message);
                WebResponse resp = req.GetResponse();
                using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(resp.GetResponseStream()))
                    XmlDocument xResponse = new XmlDocument();
                    xResponse.LoadXml("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\" ?>" + sr.ReadToEnd());
                    functionReturnValue = xResponse;
                return functionReturnValue;

    when we wrote our initial echosign application, version 9 was current. the person that wrote it is gone, and we don't have much expertise with web services, so when we updated it, we kept using version 9. Our existing application sends the document to echosign with email addresses of the required signers, and they are notified by email, and this all works fine.
    We are now trying to present the document to the end user directly using the widget, so I kept using the same version of the api. I don't know what is involved (if anything) in upgrading to the newest version. Do I just need to change the call from https://secure.echosign.com/services/EchoSignDocumentService9 to https://secure.echosign.com/services/EchoSignDocumentService17  , and then make sure that I create the SOAP request according to the documentation (in case the methods have changed)?
    As far as your question about "generating a request log", I'm not sure what this means.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    The problem is: i don't know how to check for the HTTP-Header, because
    my call
    <i>SOAPOutPayload = accessor.call(payload);</i>
    throws the mentioned exception, even though it works behind the scene.
    Is it possible to check for the HTTP-Response-Code in the catch block?
    We want to avoid an synchronous scenario because we don't need the result and the WebService is rather slow.

    Is there a way to perform a trace or to determine what is going on? Our third party provider has already confirmed that the authorization they provided is correct and is working.
    Thanks!

    Yes you can run a profiler trace on the SQL Server and include the "User Error Message" event under "Errors and Warnings".  This will show you the error message that SQL Server is sending to the client.
    When you get it, post it here because this is might be a bug in our JDBC driver that it does not turn that error into a sensible com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException.

  • Scripting API: Com exception when calling Session.Record

    Hi,
    I'm communicating with SAP Scripting API Com-Object from my Net application.
    When the Scripting events are disable in server side (by setting sapgui/user_scripting_disable_recording=TRUE in the server profile see Note 692245) ans i try to set the GuiSession.Record property to true i recieve a COM exception.
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))
    at System.RuntimeType.ForwardCallToInvokeMember(String memberName, BindingFlags flags, Object target, Int32[] aWrapperTypes, MessageData& msgData)
    at SAPFEWSELib.ISapSessionTarget.set_Record(Boolean )
    My question is - is this is the expected behavior? (I wouldn't expect exception when mode is disabled).
    Thanks,
    Dror.

    Marcel,
    JDeveloper will not run out of the box with JDK 1.4. There is a help topic 'Configuring Support for JDK 1.4.0.01 in JDeveloper' that gives you some information.
    But you also need to verify the compatability of all the frameworks you use with JKD 1.4, including BC4J, MVC and UIX. E.g. the classes12.jar we normally use for a JHeadstart application only works with JKD 1.2/1.3.
    Having found out which versions of the frameworks you need, the next step is to validate whether the JHeadstart runtime classes will work with these versions. We have no experience ourself in this respect.
    If it is an option for you, you might consider to downgrade to JKD 1.3.

  • TimeoutException - when calling web services method that opens a PDF

    I am updating a legacy program which uses Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.  The idea is that the client will call web service methods, which handle opening a PDF, reading from or writing to the PDF, saving if necessary, and closing.  It then returns the data (if reading) to the client.
    The only issue with this that I'm having is that the client will pause for about 60 seconds, and throw a TimeoutException.
    I know that the method on the web services end is working, because I wrote a quick driver which calls the very same method, but it executes normally, and works perfectly.
    My question is basically, is there anything that would cause the client to hang/freeze when calling the web services method to do this task? Everything is running on my workstation, and I've debugged to see that the filename being passed is the same in both tests.
    Thanks!

    Thank you, I somehow missed seeing that subforum. I reposted it in that forum instead. This thread can be deleted/closed. Thanks!

  • OCI-01555 exception on calling OracleXmlType .Value method

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle 10g EX, and ODAC 1020221. I created an ODP.net based C# webservice that reads/writes xml data using stored procedures.
    I implemented the read as illustrated below:
    OracleConnection connection = new OracleConnection(...);
    OracleCommand command = connection.CreateCommand();
    OracleParameter param = command.CreateParameter();
    param.ParameterName = "XML_COL";
    param.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.XmlType;
    param.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output;
    command.ExecuteNonQuery();
    OracleParameter param = command.Parameters["XML_COL"];
    OracleXmlType xmlType = (OracleXmlType)param.Value;
    string value = xmlType.Value;
    This works fine as long I call it in a single-threaded test.
    However, when I run a multi-threaded test with more than 2 threads I'm getting the occasional exception on calling xmlType.Value:
    OCI-01555: Message 1555 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=OCI
    at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException.HandleErrorHelper(Int32 errCode, OracleConnection conn, IntPtr opsErrCtx, OpoSqlValCtx* pOpoSqlValCtx,
    Object src, String procedure)
    at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException.HandleError(Int32 errCode, OracleConnection conn, IntPtr opsErrCtx, Object src)
    at Oracle.DataAccess.Types.OracleXmlType.HandleError(Int32 errCode, OracleConnection conn, IntPtr opsErrCtx, Object src)
    at Oracle.DataAccess.Types.OracleXmlType.get_Value()
    Surprisingly, I have not been able to find any documentation regarding this error, though there is a ORA error with the same number indicating some rollback size issues.
    The problem seem to occur when another thread in my webservice updates the same record. The stored procedure is "safe-guarded" by a lock, however, I didn't implement additional locking in my webservice, because a) I thought odp.net can cope, and b) ado.net/sql has no problem with this approach, but perhaps I assumed wrongly?
    Has anybody seen this exception before and can explain what this is all about?
    Many thanks,
    Frank

  • Serialization error when calling web service method

    Hi,
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3.1, I'm working on an EJB that will be deployed as a web service. There is a method in the EJB that is defined to return a generic Object, but in the implementation, it really returns one of several possible specialized bean objects. I can deploy the EJB successfully to IAS 10.1.3.1.
    I created a web service proxy from the wsdl that was generated from deploying the EJB. Using the proxy, I try to call the EJB method and cast the method's return value to the bean object I know should be returned. However, I get an error like this:
    java.rmi.ServerException:
    start fault message:
    Internal Server Error (serialization error: no serializer is registered for (class com.test.TestBean, null))
    :end fault message
    Does anyone know how this serialization error can be resolved? If I change the web service method signature to return the bean object that is actually being returned (instead of Object), then it works fine. But I want to be able to define the method to return a generic Object because I plan to make the method flexible enough to return several different types of bean objects. Whenever the client calls the method, it will know what is the actual object being returned and I had planned to cast the return value to its actual class.
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Well, I think so... I've followed all the steps, and my merged WSDL file seems like the one in page 12...
    Any suggestion, please?
    Thank you,
