Server start or server stop sometimes hands

If I try to delete the server because its not responding to a stop then that does not work too.
I deleted the server entry in the server.xml, and this removed the server however I may have screwed something up by doing that!
Why do I do when the server start sort of hands at around 23%, this is on a new server with nothing published as yet...
Also it is picking up jrockit to start and stop, even after I set eclipse up with 1.5 vm.... Anyway around other than modifying setDomainEnv.cmd ?
Thankyou, (I WILL get this thing to work for me. The productivity boost is so very tantalizing!)

The VM used to start weblogic is irrelevant to the VM used with Eclipse.
Set JAVA_VENDOR=Sun in setDomainEnv.cmd to use Sun JDK.
To troubleshotting the server stop problem,
try manually run [domian]/bin/stopWebLogic.cmd
see any difference.

    For some reason my NSP server is starting with MMC, but then after about a minute it stops again. Please see the log files below. It seems to be a database problem but I don't know how to fix it...

    Ok I eventually figured it out... The SAP Application Server starts the database using the XUSER authentication - For some reason my system lost all settings for this.
    In order to recreate, I had to use the command prompt and use the XUSER command.
    Firstly "XUSER LIST" lists all user keys - I had none.
    I then needed to set the default XUSER:
    XUSER -d NSP -u SAPNSP,<password>
    <password> is the password for the user specified
    Then I created the "c" key:
    XUSER -d NSP -U c -u SAPNSP,<password>
    The reason I set up the "c" XUSER is because I noticed that in "\usr\sap\NSP\DVEBMGS00\exe\" there is a batch file used to start the DB - "strdbs.cmd". Inside this file it uses "c" as the user key in order to set the state of the DB.
    After all of that it worked again...

  • Problem starting managed server in cluster (The name of the managed server is same as admin server)

    Don't start the admin server as managed. Removing
              -Dweblogic.management.server...
              from the command line should help.

  • Failure extracting WAR classes when starting weblogic server

    I installed weblogic6.1 app server on Solaris box. It works fine at first. Then

    Hi
    This is a Unix problem, you may check if you have all the permissions.
    I suspect that some of the files which may be owned by someone other than user-value and therefore preventing the writting to the
    files.
    Can you check the files owership under /usr/local/bea/wlserver6.1/config/mydomain/applications/.wlnotdelete to see if any of the
    files or subdirectories are owned by someone else, such as 'root' or even under different group?"
    Hope this help

  • Start HTTP Server on Oracle 9.2.0.1 Server version

    I have Used Oracle 9.2.0.1 server edition on Windows 2000 server with service pack 4 platform. I want to know how could I start HTTP Server?
    When I start HTTP server from Strat > Program > Oracle Ora home 92 > Oracle HTTP Server > start HTTP server powered by Apache then error comes as below..
    'Access is denied : FastCGI : create Mutex () failed...

    What does the error_log of the Oracle Apache HTTP server say? This is typically in the $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs directory.
    Weird that a mutex create failed. Without the actual o/s error code that resulted, it is difficult to diagnose the problem. Anything in the Application (or Security) Event Log? Access denied seems to indicate an ACL failure of sorts.
    You could also disable FastCGI - it is not very often used and APEX (mod_plsql) does not need it. The httpd.conf file (in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf) can be edited to disable FastCGI.

  • Problem starting managed server (WL6.1sp2)

    I'm trying to staret a managed server, but keep getting errors fetching the
    configuration from the admin server?
    Right after the first error message, it says"> This condition generally

    However, this is not the case here. Any ideas?

  • NullPointerException while starting Weblogic server instance

              Hi,
              I am running Weblogic 7.0 SP1 on Windows 2000 SP3. I had configured a cluster
              with a single server in it. With that set up the admin server & Weblogic server
              instance started up fine. Both(admin & server instance) were run on the same machine.
              Then I added another server(on a different to the cluster & tried to start the
              local server instance after running the admin server. I get the following exception,

              The local server instance doesn't start because of this. The other server added
              to the cluster was to run on a different machine & was not started yet. If I remove
              the other server the server instance starts up fine. I am attaching the config.xml(the
              working version, without the second server).
              This used to work in Weblogic 6.1.
              Thanks,
              Aejaz
              [config.xml]

    This is fixed in SP2.

    Hi JLK,
    Now as you can see that you are getting "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" during the activation on an application it means that you are application needs more space in the non-heap part of the JVM which is PermGen to create the Classes, Class Structures, Methods and Reflection Objects of this applications hence you are getting this issue.
    Now how to solve this issue you try the following check list which would help you resolve this issue and overcome same type of issue in future
    1). Make Sure that the PermGen Area is not set to a very less value.
    2). Usually if an Application has Many JSP Pages in that case every JSP will be converted to a *.class file before JSP Request Process. So a large number of JSPs causes generation of a Large number of *.class files all these classes gets loaded in the PermGen area.
    3). While allocating the -XX:MaxPermSize make sure that you follow a rough Formula… which works in most of the Application Servers.
    MaxPermSize = (Xmx/3) —- Very Special Cases (One Third of maximum Heap Size)
    MaxPermSize = (Xmx/4) —- Recommended (One Fourth Of maximum Heap Size
    To get more information on this I would suggest you to have look at the below link which would surely help you in this case

  • Start weblogic server with java argument

    Hello,
    I am using weblogic server version 10.2. And the environment have one Admin server and two machines.
    In admin console, one managed sever is configured with Java argument in "Server Start". The java option can be passed to JVM when i start the managed server in admin console. i confirmed that by execute ps the java process from the linux server. However, the java argument cannot pass to the JVM when i start from command line as below. is there any specific configuration required?
    /weblogic/bea102/wlserver_10.0/common/bin/wlscontrol.sh -d premium_102_internet_qa -n /weblogic/ndmgr -c -f startManagedWebLogic.sh -s server_qa_svra START
    PLease help!
    Thanks,
    Angus

    You have to use the nodemanager. The parameters are added to a file startup.properties, located in the
    directory: <middleware-home>/user_projects/domains/<domain-name>/servers/<server-name>/data/nodemanager
    The file startup.properties is used by the nodemanager to start your managed server.
    You can start your environment by using a start script (written using WLST), for example,
    beahome = '<middleware-hoem>';
    adminusername = 'username';
    adminpassword = 'password';
    domainname = 'domain-name';
    linux = true;
    pathseparator = '/';
    if not linux:
         pathseparator = '\\';
    domainlocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'user_projects' + pathseparator + 'domains' + pathseparator + domainname;
    nodemanagerhomelocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'wlserver_10.3' + pathseparator + 'common' + pathseparator + 'nodemanager';
    print 'START NODE MANAGER';
    startNodeManager(verbose='true', NodeManagerHome=nodemanagerhomelocation, ListenPort='5556', ListenAddress='localhost');
    print 'CONNECT TO NODE MANAGER';
    nmConnect(adminusername, adminpassword, 'localhost', '5556', domainname, domainlocation, 'ssl');
    print 'START ADMIN SERVER';
    nmStart('AdminServer');
    nmServerStatus('AdminServer');
    print 'CONNECT TO ADMIN SERVER';
    connect(adminusername, adminpassword);
    print 'START MANAGED SERVER';
    start('ServerName','Server');
    nmServerStatus('ServerName');

    I had the same problem on Solaris 2.8, the only way I could fix it was to backtrack
    to WebLogic Server 6.1 w/ sp1 instead of sp2

    I don't have the answer to this error, but we had the same problem...
    Switching back to WLS6.1 sp1 solved it though.

    It looks like another WLS server is running on port 7002. Each server has to have
