Server Tomcat v5.5 Server @ localhost failed to start
Hi guys,
I've installed Eclipse 3.1, Tomcat 5.5 and Java 1.5.0 on Linux Red Hat 9.
My application works fine when I run Tomcat in standalone.
Instead when I run in embedded mode I receive the message in object and I can't find any log.
Any help will be appreciated because I'm getting crazy

This might not be much help, but it should give you at least a clue. I am using the same tools, except that I am running on Windoze XP, and I am experiencing the precise same symptoms.

Hi,
I want to install a BOE and be able to save Crystal Reports which report data off SAP system. The following is what I did:
1. Install JDK and Tomcat 5.5
2. Install BOE XI 3.1 SP2 and deploy it to the existing Tocat
The reason that I manually installed the JDK and Tomcat5.5 is because I got the "Error 1920. Service u2018Apache Tomcat 5.5.20u2019(BOE120Tomcat) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." when I chose the option that let BOE install everything for me. I could not find the reason why the BOE120Tomcat could not start so I install it manually and deploy BOE on it.
3. Install SAP GUI 7.1
4. Install Java connector 2.1.8
5. Install BOE Integration kit for SAP Solutions XI 3.1
But after I complete step 5, the infoviewApp and CmcApp do not work. I use the tomcat web application manager, both of these two applications are stopped and can not start.
Does anyone know how can I start the infoviewApp and the cmcApp?

I looked through the log file: SAPik_0.log and found some message saying that the installation package is against software restriction policy, it is not digitally signed and is permitted to run at the 'unrestricted' authorization level, etc. The following is the log in the end of the log file:

"Server Tomcat v7.0 Server at localhost failed to start" in eclipse
While running my web program I am getting following error in servlets.. I have removed the projects and removed tomcat server and after setting up again I am still getting this error. Tomcat server is not able to start.

Seems clear enough, there is something in a servlet mapping in your web.xml that Tomcat doesn't like. So post your web.xml and lets find out what. -
IPlanet web server 4.x on Windows 2000 fails to start after activating SSL
I have created the trust database and installed a CA root certificate and a web server certificate. When I enable SSL, the server startup takes a long time (although the log file indicates a successful startup much earliar) and then after acknowledging the information box for successful startup, on return to the server on/off page, the page shows server off.
Can you provide the error logs file of the instance which fails to start?

Device manager does not show any signs of failed hardware
Server used to be the only domain controller in the network
We had a power failure that resulted in the machine powering off incorrectly (3 months ago or so)
Windows would not start for a missing file
Followed a guide to resolve and we were able to get into windows
Since then the OS has not seemed to work correctly
Server was demoted and AD moved to another server
I am now not able to assign permissions to folders to domain users because this machine does not see the domain
We still use this server as a file serverI believe that your system is facing some corruptions.
The easiest way to proceed would be to migrate the server content to another location, re-install it and migrate them back.
Otherwise, you can try running chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
and see if this helps.

Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q2 fails to start - CLI156
I have installed and re-installed PE8.1 on my laptop many times (with security off). I followed Quickstart and after 60 seconds end up with CLI156. I have upgraded from XP Home Edition to XP Professional. I have been going round and round for the last 4 days. I have searched for CLI156 and have tried many options. Any pointers (if not memory references) would be appreciated.

I finally gave up the ghost, bought a 160G drive, installed it into my desktop, installed Fedora Linux and have not had a problem. Life would be much better if I could get it running on the laptop. My gut tells me that something is wrong with either JAVA_HOME or J2EE_HOME, but I cannot see it. -
SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER) service is failing to start

I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 Express edition. When i start SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER) service it is failing to start and gives the below error.
On analyzing the Event logs i found the below event.
The SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER) service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 14 time(s).
Event id 7034
Event source: Service Control Manager.
I opened the SQL server configuration manager to change the service account and start the service, But that is also failing and it is giving the below error.
Can any one help in this issue ?
Gautam.75801Like Olaf said SQL Server Agent is available in express but cannot be enabled. This is restriction from MS. The reason is that(why its available and disabled) when you upgrade express to enterprise/standard it just uses this disabled SQL Server agent and
enables it. If this feature was not present SQL Server upgrade process would have to write whole code for SQL agent Which I am sure it does not do while upgrading to standard/enterprise.

... 10 morei wrote netstat -a and tried to search if any program uses port 4848 and I could not find.
i also close my windows firewall settings and i also disabled windows defender. also close tomcat and jboss applications.
i also check if it's from proxy settings and i select no proxy from tools->options->system settings but the problem still exists.
also my pc's specifications:

Bind to Reports Server localhost failed

I am using Oracle 10g(1.2.0.2) on winxp professional.
I successfully deployed my war using Oracle Enterprise Manager. but when i try to run the application on browser using link

I get the following error

my oracle app server is on default port 80 and when i run http://localhost the application server default welcome page comes up
my report server is also running i use the following coomand on browser

and I am inserting the proper user id password and database name
i think i should be using the port No on which the report server is listening to if this is right can anybody help me where i can find this port No
regardsThe error suggests that your report server name is taken as "localhost" which is strange.
Check the name of server in rwservlet.properties file in OH/reports/conf
also try to run this--
http://your_computer_name:port/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo?
this should give the default server name which can be used for your jsp deployment.

I used to work with NetBeans but now i am testing JSCreator.
- I'm using Linux Ubuntu 7.04
- JSCreator 2 Update 1
- I 've tryied to run as root and as my user.
- I am trying VehicleIncidentReport example with JSCreator
- With netstat -a | grep 25848 , i can see that are no process running in that port!

I am new to this Studio Creator 2 so that I decided to follow "Sun Java Studio Creator 2 - Tutorials - Using the Debugger".
I followed the instructions word by word and have no problem running it.
But Whenever I run it under the 'debugging' mode, I got an error ( at step 2. Examining local variables in the tutorial) as follows.
It directs me to look at the server log file for more and I clicked on the link on the same pane (Output window in the bottom of IDE) but it doesn't mean much to me -- partly due to me being a newbie???

Server admin fails to start tomcat only
Hi,
we just upgraded our server from 10.3 to 10.4. after the upgrade - the server admin tools fail to start tomcat only. sooooo when i start tomcat only service - the app says its running. but i can't connect to port 80 to show me the default page or any of my webapps.
whats werid is that:
it tries to startup JBoss
instead of Tomcat.
When I run the settings command I see:

When I do a "tail /var/log/servermgrd/servermgrderrorlog" on the server, I don't get normal error log lines. Instead, I get the text that you see when you type "serveradmin", namely:

Please open MMC, add Component Services snap-in:
Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config -> Windows Management Instrumentation -> Right Click, Properties -> Security “Launch and Activation Permission” -> Edit -> gave Authenticated Users

Managed Server failed to start(oim_server1 and soa_server1) in weblogic
Hi All,
Following upgrade guide is getting followed for OIM version upgrade from 9.1.0.2 to 11g.

After performing step '13.8 Task 6: Start the WebLogic Administration Server'
Following steps were done
1. Started weblogic administrator server
E:\Oracle_11g\middleware_home\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin>startWebLogic.cmd
2. Opened the weblogic console (http://localhost:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp)
3. Assigning listen address (IP address of server) to both server OIM_SERVER1 and SOA_SERVER1.
4. Created two clusters OIM_CLUSTER and SOA_CLUSTER
5. Added AdminServer and OIM_SERVER1 to cluster OIM_CLUSTER
6. Added soa_server1 to cluster SOA_CLUSTER
7. Created machine with hostname of server
8. Added all the server to newly created machine
9. Started node manager with following command
E:\Oracle_11g\middleware_home\wlserver_10.3\server\bin>startNodeManager.cmd
10. checked node manager status, it is reachable.
Now when I am going for starting OIM_SERVER1, it is getting failed and state is showing Admin.
