Service process

Hi experts,
We have service scenario in crm system.
service order contains item level service product(service item) as well as service material(return material).
we have ecc integration with crm.
Once we create service order in crm. should it replicated to ecc?.Or we can create
service conformation for service product(service) as followup document, and return order for service material and replicate it into ecc for delivery.
please can you explain the best practice when you create service order with service products as well as returnable products.

Hi Siddarth,
1. As per SAP standard system, in any service order you can enter the following items in Item details tab page
  a) Service item
      A service item includes a service product (product of the type Service).
  b) Service part item
      A service part item contains a service part (product of the type Material which  is required in the context of a service).
  c) Sales item
      A sales item contains a product (product of the type Material, which is delivered to the customer via the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system).
  d) Expense item
      An expense item contains a product of the type Material, which you use to create expenses (such as taxi fares, overnight hotel stays, or incidentals).
  e) Tool item
      A tool item contains a tool (product of the type Material which is required in the context of a service).
    As mentioned you can use any of the above items in service order based on business requirements
    Assume that your business scenario has only items a)Service product, c) Sales product.We know that delivery is not supported in standard CRM system, but here in our business scenario we have the sales product which need to be delivered to the customer, which can happen through your backend ECC system. Now when ever you create service order with service product and sales product, the system will create sales order only with sales productin ECC system corresponding to service order. For this to happen you need to maintain similar settings for transaction types(CRM)/document types(ECC), Item categories(CRM,ECC), Item category determination(CRM,ECC). once you have done that the system will try to replicate the items whose item category(Item object type) is relevant to frlow back to ecc system. data exchange will happen automatically after maintaining the necessary settings, you need not create sales order in ECC.
2. But the concern here is, you have the return material in your service order, you can achieve this with documents like "Complaint" or "Return". In this case when ever you enter the return material, the system will create corresponding return sales order in ECC system after the necessary settings are maintained . then you can do the goods receipt for the same.
  And also you can achieve this with service order which is not standard because this is not the best practice, the best practice is achieving this with complaint and return. Please follow the following steps to get that with service order
1. Create a document type in ECC corresponding to service order transaction type in CRM(Names must be same), In customization of document type in ECC enter the document category as "H-Returns"
2. In similar way create the Item categories and Itemcategory determination in ECC as in CRM .
3. Now when creating the service order , enter the return material in sales tab page of item details.
4. After saving the service order, system will create return sales order in ECC sytem corresponding to service order.then you can do the inbound delivery and goods receipt for the same.
to achieve this number ranges must be same and also you should have activated adapter object "SALESDOCUMENT"   in CRM

    However in the error list window there are 0 errors and 0 warnings.
    So, why doesn't it show an error message in the error list when the package clearly fails. And how can I get the error messages from the log into a table? Thanks in advance.

    Error list does not reflect what is getting to be logged, it is more for package validation.
    But the same errors will show up in the status, and the output window.
    Furthermore, if your log is table bound (e.g. the sysssiserrorlog) and in the log config you chose to log the OnError events then these will be captured automatically.

    While we created the service order as a fallow up document of the quotation system unable to create the PR. System showing the above error in the service order.
    We created the service order with same items directly not as fallow up document to quotation PR created with out any fail.
    As per my analyses above error because system unable to find out the Internal order to create the PR hence we created service order as a fallow up document of the service quotation.
    Revert require data to understand the issue more.

     Dear Gurus,
    Thanks for your update. we checked as per your suggestion but the issue is PR is not determining the IO while creating the PR.
    We used the different item cat in quotation and service order system generating the PR, But our Clint want to use the same item cat in the both service order and quotation.
    If we created the quotation after that service order with the service line item and spare part line item system creating the IO (internal order) but PR not generating.
    Please help me in this scenario what should we do.

    Hi all,
    I will working on web service process in ebs server. In this server i had executed the web service process successfully.
    After Restarting my ebs server i checked again the web service process , but it throws following error running the "Asant deploy-war" command.
    Error is :

    An exception occurred while running the command. The exception message is: CLI171 Command deploy failed :
    Application hello-jaxrpc is already deployed on other targets. Please use create-application-ref command to create reference to the specified target;
    requested operation cannot be completed.
    Please help how to solve this web service issue.

    Hi,
    Activity means e.g.. sales call, customer visit etc.
    But service process means after you sale your product if some service related issue arrives then that is taken care by this transaction.

  • Service Process Monitor  export to excel is not working

    Hi,
    The  Tx. CRM_SRV_REPORT ( Service -> Service Process Monitor) is not working.
    When you try to export to Excel (press button Excel (CtrlshiftF7) is not working. However, this button in other transaction is working, for example Activity Monitor.
    Any idea?

    We have Service process where the tax calculation is Purchase Item level and the Tax calcaulation is happening from there .
    and also during MIRO .
    system is not able to determine the tax calculation at service entry level , how can we achieve this ?

    please check additionally the following OSS notes:

    See consulting Note 498878 for information about the functioning of    
    taxes for service documents.                                           
    For service orders, you can set in Customizing (Transaction ML100 or the          
    following path: -> Materials Management -> External Services Management           
    -> Taxes at Individual Service Level) whether the taxes are calculated            
    at individual service level or at item level.    
    If you set the 'Taxes at individual service level' indicator for a     
    country, you can maintain tax data (tax indicator MWSKZ and tax        
    jurisdiction code TXJCD) in a purchase order at service level AND at   
    item level in Customizing.                                             
    The tax calculation only occurs at service level.

    I try to create a tool where you are able to virtually shutdown servers and then you can see what happends to the services and processes. Hope someone can help me.

    i'm not sure if you all understand what i'm trying to do so i'll ty to explain it
    first i'll try to explain how i understand SOA
    - there are several servers on which the services run
    - a service is only runnable if his server is active
    - a process consists of several services
    - if one of these services isn't runnable anymore the whole process isn't runnable too
    - there are user who use one or more processes
    - if one of the used processes is not able to run the user will be affected
    the tool i'm trying to write should automatically import the descriped information (server-, service-, process- and userlists) from a given SAP-Systemand then you can switch virtually a server to see which services, processes and user would be affected.
    This would be fine if you want to shut down a server for maintance work or something like that.
    so i hope you understand my problem and you are able to help me
    again i want to excuse for my english and my wimpy knowledge about the SOA Architecture of SAP

    what will be the SD flow for service process i.e i'm trying to create a service as a material ( for logistics service providers ).i need to do shipment.
    i have created a material as a service(material type - DIEN), and i have created a sales order and O/B delivery is automatically created for that material  . but i could not include that material in the shipment.

    Servide process in Sd scenario's are basically order related billing. The term order related billing will be much clear after I narate an example. If we speak of Rentals for housing or commercial, we are not physically delivering the product while billing. Hence we have a sales order & based on sales order, we directly bill the customer.
    Another example is in third party scenario, we receive order from customer. as we do not manufacture that product, we place an order to vendor instructing the vendor to directly deliver to our customer. Though a product is being delivered, it is not being delivered from our plant, hence we do not create delivery in our system, but we certainly bill the customer. This again is order related billing, as we have indirectly provided a service to the customer, & also added our business volumes.
    The above are process for services.

    What you said is right,but how can we do deliveries of repair goods(inbound or outbound) in service processing.Can you just explain me how the flow would be in this scenario:
    1.Create service notification
    2Create repair request for the goods to be repaired..
    3Inbound delivery & PGR for the goods to be repaired.
    4Service order
    5Sales order with reference to service order
    6Outbound delivery & PGI of the repaired goods.
    7 Invoicing
    Is this possible with standard.Please do reply.

    Does anybody has experience in sending adobe PDF forms as a fax using actions in CRM service processes? Currently I use this by implementing a PPF BAdI, but what else configuration, software and hardware requirements I need to make faxing work in CRM?
    Is it possible to use 3rd party software to send the fax for example winfax and transfer the fax number to this?

    As far as I remember, we already know each other
    Our company have been using winfax in the past for sending fax messages. Now that they will use SAP-CRM shall they buy a new fax server? I have looked after Topcall, it might be useful with RFC?
    In CRM service order, I use the EXEC_METHODCALL_PPF BAdI implementation to collect the data from the service order, and then use the standard function modules to "print" or "fax" the PDF document (call function FM_NAME).
    At this function module, which structure do I neet to enter the recipient's fax number (I read somewhere that I have to use DEVICE='TELEFAX' in the output_options - is it true?) ?
    Or should I communicate from the BAdI with Business Communication Services (create recipient and similar methods)?
    Is there any way to send the fax from the local machine where the user uses the SAP GUI?

    I'm a dinosaur ABAP developer whose been asked to create a custom field to appear on the Business Transaction service process (Support Message) initial selection screen.
    I've created the field and generated the necessary objects via the EEWB transaction.  The client has created a Z* transaction type.
    Could someone please instruct me how to get the custom field onto the Z transaction selection screen?

    You have to use function module read_text to capture the already exsiting text and then append your text in it, then use function module save_text to save it back,you need to know correct parameters to pass in it.

    > user creating service process doc. in/from CIC (win client). SAP CRM 3.1 Version.
    Under service document's interaction record there are few fields (category, priority, reason, status, result). Using FM: crm_order_read, am able to read/find category, priority & status. But am not able to read/find reason & result. Can you please help me for this which function module i need to use. Or is there any other method is there to find out.

    You would find the reason data in ET_SERVICE_OS output parameter of CRM_ORDER_READ.
    Go to ET_SERVICE_OS ->OSSET ->SUBJECT-> CODEGRUPPE, CODE, KURZTEXT, CODETEXT.
