Session Fascade & security & transaction or is there a overhead using Local

Can anybody tell me what happens with security when using a Session Fascade ? I identify myelf to the Session Fascade, does it propagate the security information to e.g. an entity bean that is used within the Fascade ?
What happens when the Session Fascade starts a transaction ? Does the Entity Bean also start a transaction (RequiredNew) ?
I want to identify any possible existing overhead that occurs when using Local interfaces.
Thanx for any replies,
Max

This is what is meant by "container-managed". The container will manage the security when your session bean calls entity beans, etc. You configure that security via the deployment descriptors. The same goes for transactions if you use container managed. If you use bean managed transactions then you need to put the proper transaction code in your components.

You didn't buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 3GS - you bought a 'hacked' one.
Updating to iOS 5 removed the hack and the unofficial unlock.
All you can do is try to find out which network the phone is locked to and ask them if they can unlock it properly.
Otherwise, sell it or throw it away and buy an officially unlocked phone from an official source.

  • Log file in session and call transaction methods

    Hi Experts,
How to see log file in session and call transaction methods?

    hi
If its a session then goto SM35, select ur session and then u can see log button over there at the top... that will give the log
If its a call transaction then in ur program u need to declare internal table IT_MSGS like this
DATA:  IT_MSGS LIKE BDCMSGCOLL OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
      LOOP AT IT_SALES.
        PERFORM POPULATE_BDC.

  • Session Properties inside Transaction

    Hi All,
I am trying to access session variable inside transaction as below.
    1. Create new XML query
    2. Set URL as xMII 11.5 -->  http://<Server>/Lighthammer/PropertyAccessServlet?Mode=List and
    12.0 --> http://<Server>:50000/XMII/PropertyAccessServlet?mode=Retrieve&PropName=TETSP&Content-Type=text/xml
    3. execute query.
This working in xMII 12.0 version but it is not working in xMII 11.5.
    It's is throwing following error.
Error Processing XMLQuery Premature end of file
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://<Server>/Lighthammer/OutputStorageServlet...
Is there any problem with URL setting in 11.5.

    Hi Michael,

If i paste URL in explore address bar it gives correct result without login page.

Also i tried with encoded URL in target
Without passing credentials it is qrking in 12.0 version but not in 11.5

  • Please help me-it's urgent, maintaining session and security using cookies.

    hi folks,
i presently developing a web site for an engineering colleege ,i am facing prob in maintaining the session using cookies, and destroying a cookie and keeping security to the user,There are four links on my webpage ,including a logout link, when i click the other links other than the logout,it works perfectly, and when i click the logout link,i am not able to disable the cookie and still able to visit previous pages by clicking the back button.please give a suggestion as such to disable the cokie and maintain the security for my web site.
    Thank u....

Try out this login if it helps you.
Create a bean that stores some String value. Then make a object of this bean using the useBean tag with session scope when a user logs in. Store the name of the user in the bean and also set the same name value in the Session object. Then on every JSP page compare the value set in the session object with the bean variable (which will be having a session scope). If the value match, then the JSP page output must be displayed to the user. Then on the logout link, invalidate the session object using the invalidate() method of the session class. As a result now when you will try to navigate back to the old JSP page, null will be returned to you when you will try to retrive the name value from the session object. And since this null will not match with the value in the bean, you should not proceed further with generating the output. Hope this help

  • Session or Call transaction

How do decide whether to go for Session or Call transaction? Can anyone give me the justification with a real time example,,please???

    Hi Srinivas,
If any error occurs in a call transaction method, the user can either remove it at the same time (mode 'E') else, that record is discarded and all other records are updated in the database..
However, session method does not update the database till the session is completed successfully.. It can be rescheduled after removing the error..
However we can not reschedule the call transaction.. call transaction fast as compared to session method..
In session method we can pass data to multiple transactions.. in call transaction.. only to one..
I came across a requirement that no record should be updated if there is even a single error record.. in that case i used session method..
    Thanks and Best Regards,

  • Session Method & Call Transaction

    Hi Firends,
On what basis call transaction & session method
    choose it?
    venkat

    Hi Venkat,
Even though both call transaction and session method do the same job there are some differences.
    1. If no. of records to be uploaded is less (<500) u can as well choose call transaction method but if the no. of records is more (>10000) u need to choose session method as call transaction will create some performance issues.
    2. If u want to execute the program in future u can create a session and keep it ready so that u can execute it at any point of time. That is not possible in call transaction method.

  • Session cookie security

A customer of mine asked me about session cookie security.
    Questions are :
    . session id randmoness
    . session id length
. events producing session end (timeouts, navigation outside etc..)
    . HTTP maximim header length
Could someone provide me informations/documentation about such questions ?
    Tks
    Tullio

Again, you still did not mention if you are generalizing or speaking of a specific product and version. Since you posted your question in the "Forms" area, I guess we will assume you are referring to Forms. However, without the version information some of the info might vary. I guess in any case, you (or your customer) should try testing the product of choice as most Oracle products are free for download.
    <br>
Session Id Length should be long at least 20 random characters" <br>
<blockquote><font color="blue">Here is an example of what is generated for Forms 10.1.2.3 (other versions may vary):<br>
    <i>jsessionid=<b>9c1253bde83b0ed66ae9687525ef3536f960c8a0f40aa4fa14179b30656e1ea3</b></i><br>
    </font></blockquote>
Http header should be less than 2100 characters<br>
<blockquote><font color="blue">This will likely depend on exactly which
product version is being used.  Also, it will depend on exactly
which "header" information is being considered as part of the
count.  For example, are you include all request and response
data.  Are you including any of the body data?  Also consider
that the host name and url parameters are part of these exchanges
too.  So the total amount of characters in my environment would
likely differ from yours simply because of a difference in my host name
and parameters that I pass to call my app. In doing just a couple of
simple tests using a basic tool like ieHTTPheaders and run it against
Forms 10.1.2.3 on my local machine, I can see that the total can range
from around 1000 up into over 2000.  So the exact header size is
something you would need to test based on the app and environment to
    include the product version.</font><br>
    </blockquote>
Session timout should be 15 minutes <br>
<blockquote><font color="blue">The concept of "session timeout" will
vary depending on what exactly we are talking about.  There are
Forms sessions, db sessions, http sessions, java sessions, etc.
For the most part, all of these sessions times are configurable.
The only exception is the actually application itself.  In other
words, Forms, by design is intended to be living.  Meaning, it will
never die unless you kill it.  You would need to program in to
your app exactly when you want its session to be destroyed.  If you
wanted to destroy the app based on user inactivity, you would need to
use a Java Bean in order to perform a clean exit.  Any other method
would result in an ugly termination.  An example (unsupported
demo) of such a bean is available on OTN in the Forms download area.
As for the other session configurations, they are documented in the product docs.</font><br>

Whenever I try to sync my iPod Touch 5th gen with iTunes I get an error message saying "The iPod "*****" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start". Is there any way I can fix this?

B-rock, thanks for posting the above.  I actually have the same issue, running Windows XP and I don't have that backup location, \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\.  When I go to Documents and Settings\(username)\ there's a AppData folder followed by:\LocalLow\DataMngr\ .
I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message.  I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?
    Thank you!

  • After quitting FF 8.01 on a Mac with OSX 10.5, restarting the Mac then starting FF, the offer to Restore Previous Session is grayed out. Is there any way I can recover the list of pages open when FF was last quit?

Had about 15 windows w/ tabs open. System was a little sluggish and had not been rebooted in weeks so I Quit FIREFOX. Restarted the Mac, then FIREFOX. Option to Restore Previous Session was grayed out. I haven't used that computer since, hoping not to overwrite record of previous session.
I've used the Restore Previous Session feature many times before without any problems.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • How bapi different from session and call transaction?

how bapi different from session and call transaction?
    thanks in advance.

For one, Batch Data Communication (BDC) is older. Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) came later, about 10 years ago (you can see this already from the name, which contains marketese like "business" ).
More important though, they are different technologies. With BDC you build the "batch input transaction" yourself, with an ABAP program which creates the "batch input session" ("Batch-Input-Mappe" in german). You then take that session, like an object, and "run" it on a system (most of the time, this is done on a local system by the administrators, after it has been tested for correctness).
With BAPI, a system (local or remote) exposes its interface to you through some kind of Remote Function Call (RFC). Practically, it tells you: "What do you want to do? Insert that data into Materials Management? Here is the function and the the parameters you have to use for each record". You only work with the Interface - the exposed function. How this function works does not have to interest you. You don't have sessions to "run", you fire your function calls filled with data, one after another and you're done.
BAPI can be run remotely. With BDC, you probably have to call the administrators of the remote system and send them the session you created for them to run. With BDC you go through the whole transaction in one BDC session, with BAPI you may need more than one "BAPI calls" to do this.
With BAPI you don't fill obcure field names with values, you just fill the parameters. You can use a BAPI from inside your ABAP program to let a "business object" do some clearly defined work for you, then you can continue with your code doing other things. You don't do this with BDC. With BDC you write a dedicated program that creates the "session", which is then executed separately.
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the oldest batch interfacing technique that SAP provided since the early versions of R/3. BDC is not a
typical integration tool, in the sense that, it can be only be used for uploading data into R/3 and so it is not bi-directional.
BDC works on the principle of simulating user input for transactional screen, via an ABAP program. Typically the input comes in the form of a flat file. The ABAP program reads this file and formats the input data screen by screen into an internal table (BDCDATA). The transaction is then started using this internal table as the input and executed in the background.
In Call Transaction, the transactions are triggered at the time of processing itself and so the ABAP program must do the error handling.
It can also be used for real-time interfaces and custom error handling & logging features. Whereas in Batch Input Sessions, the ABAP
program creates a session with all the transactional data, and this session can be viewed, scheduled and processed (using Transaction SM35) at a later time. The latter technique has a built-in error processing mechanism too.
Batch Input (BI) programs still use the classical BDC approach but doesnt require an ABAP program to be written to format the
BDCDATA. The user has to format the data using predefined structures and store it in a flat file. The BI program then reads this and
invokes the transaction mentioned in the header record of the file.
Direct Input (DI) programs work exactly similar to BI programs. But the only difference is, instead of processing screens they validate
fields and directly load the data into tables using standard function modules. For this reason, DI programs are much faster (RMDATIND - Material Master DI program works at least 5 times faster) than the BDC counterpart and so ideally suited for loading large volume data. DI programs are
not available for all application areas.
Business Add-In (BADI) are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects.
They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, partner, and customer solutions, as well as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
