Session Manager - SQL QUERY
I want to get the query fired by OBIEE to database. I'm able to get it through the session manager in the Administration Settings. But for some reports it is firing multiple queries.
Is there any way to combine them?
Hi,
It depends on your datamodel. If the BI server 'thinks' it is the best way to get the desired results it makes multiple queries and stitches the datasets together into one result set. You can raise your logging level to see what happens.
Good Luck,

Call manager SQL query stopped suddently
Some query services stopped suddendly, I can not run CRD in serviceability tool and can not run Query analyzer to retrieve detail data. Does any one know how to check the service and retart the service without reboot the system?
Hi
Log onto the CallManager server desktop, and then click on 'start', 'run', and type 'services.msc'
This will give you a list of all system services.
On the right, click on the 'Startup Type' column to sort them in order of which start automatically. If any have 'Automatic' but do not have 'Started' in the 'Status' column, they should probably be restarted.
The most likely service to have failed will be MSSQL.

How to delete last user session from backend SQL query?
Sometimes user session gets closed between some work by any reason.
When next time that user logs to P6, he gets some error or particular functionaly dosen't work for that user or system hangs.
In that case if i decided to clear last session history of that user from database, how to write SQL query?
I don't want to delete all user sessions from table USESSION and USESSAUD, i simply want to delete last user session of particular user (E.g XYZ).I am quoting this from MOS Doc Id "Why would multiple session records be present in the User Sessions screen in P6 Web, and why might some of them have different IP addresses? (Doc ID 1600172.1)"
Multiple sessions show up for users since different sections of P6 Web have their own sessions associated with them. If a user is authorized to use multiple areas of the software they will have multiple sessions each time they log in. Additionally, if users are closing their browsers before logging out of P6 Web Access you might see some past sessions still appearing in the list. These will eventually be cleared out by background jobs, however you can also reset the sessions in the software by clicking the "Reset User" link (Administer > User Sessions > Manage User Sessions), or by choosing the "Reset All Users" link (Administer > User Sessions > Manage User Sessions) to do this for all past sessions.
Multiple IP addresses for sessions can happen when a user logs in from different machines. For example, a person may login at their desk, but then go to a colleagues workstation to discuss a project, and log in from there. Doing so will leave them with multiple IP addresses in the session records.
Hope this helps

Can we use session variables in BI publisher's Data Model SQL Query?
Hi Experts,
We need to implement Data level security in BI Publisher 11g.
In OBIEE we do so by using session variables, so just wanted to ask if we can use the same session variables in BI Publisher as well
ie can we include the where clause in the Data Models SQL Query like
Where ORG_ID = @{biServer.variables['NQ_SESSION.INV_ORG']}
Let me know your views on this.
PS: We are implementing EBS r12 security in BI Publisher.

Get a insert session value for SQL query at report
Hi friends
I created a global temp table and procedure to support web search form.
and a search result report. The procudure
gets search result from multip tables and
insert into temp table --recordsearch. I can get value from temp table by call procedure
at SQL*Plus.
However, I can not get this value by web report.
How can I get this insert session value and pass to SQL query for report?
Thanks,
Newweb
CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE recordsearch
(emp_id VARCHAR2(200),
ssn VARCHAR2(9),
fname VARCHAR2(200),
lname VARCHAR2(200),
m_name VARCHAR2(200)
) ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS;it possible that your web form does not have a persistent, dedicated connection. if you have connection pooling for example, multiple sessions will see the same instance of the GTT, so if one deletes it, then nobody sees it (or you can see others data). if the connections are not persistent, then they can disconnect between calls, deleting the GTT table.

Looking for a SQL query to get all the possible Alert Messages from the Rules in a Management Pack
For reporting, I'm looking to get a SQL query of all the possible Alert Messages for Rules configured in a Management Pack (not necessarily the ones that have thrown alerts). I can do this for Monitors, but not for Rules.
The configured alert messages for the Management Pack Monitors
go like this: ManagementPack > MonitorView> RuleModule > RuleModule.Alert Message > Localized Text
The configured alert messages for the Management Pack Rules
should go something like this, but there is a missing link: ManagementPack > RuleView > RuleModule > ? Missing Link ? > Localized Text
The Rules are tied to the Module, but I don't see a connection from the RulesModule to the Alert Message that I see in the LocalizedText. The Rule names do not always equal the Alert name.
Can someone provide the missing link?Hi,
please try below powershell code to find the corresponding management pack for specific alert:
$Alert = get-scomalert | where {$_.Name -like 'Agent Proxy Not Enabled*'} | select -first 1
If ($alert.IsMonitorAlert -eq "True") {
write-host "Ths is a monitor-generated alert"
get-scommonitor -ID $Alert.MonitoringRuleID | select Enabled, DisplayName, ManagementPack
else
write-host "This is a rule-generated alert"
get-scomrule -ID $Alert.MonitoringRuleID | select Enabled, DisplayName, ManagementPack
In addition, please also refer to the below link:

hi
i have some idea about setwhereClause() method ..... but in my case i want to use one SQL query (select * from tab )...i dont know how to use ....
(without view object we cant use setwhereclause() method thatsy i have to use sql statement in managed bean ........)
thanks in advanceFirst of all, you don't want to have any SQL in a managed bean. Managed beans are part of the View layer, and the query should be part of the Model. So what you want to do is add some code to your Model project. So you are trying to do "SELECT * FROM tab". Why not just create a read-only View Object (VO) for the query in the Model (assuming that you are using ADF BC).
Now as for setWhereClause - what do you need in your where clause? You can add where clauses to the query that defines your VO, without needing to resort to using this method. You can even add bind variables for the where clauses, and just drag the ExecuteWithParams method onto your pages, which will give you a place to set the bind variables before executing the query.
You can create your own method in the VO's implementation class, in which you may call setWhereClauseParam to gain more control over how the bind variables are set. Then you make the method available as an operation in the data controls by making it an exposed method to the client interface. You can use setWhereClause in such a method if you need to do so, but there are good performance reasons not to do so if a bind variable will do the job. setWhereClause can also set you up for SQL Injection attacks on your application's security. -
SQL query generating data in SQL management studio but not in CUIC interface
Hello,
I'm working on a UCCE 9.0 system
I created SQL query for a report.
Whenever I run the query inside the SQL management studio, it works and generates data, but when I run it in the CUIC interface it works but generates nothing. As you can see in the below snapshot, it contains 209 records that are not being displayed.
Any help would be greatly apprciatedIs it a custom report ? Can you right click on your Custom Report and click on Edit Views. You need to check whether you have Grid Headers Listed.

Getting session hang When calling Function from SQL query
Hi All,
I am using Oracle 8.1.7.4.0. I have a fucntion in a Package and I am calling it from the SQL query. When I am firing the query my oracle session is going to hang position and I am not able to any thing. I have to kill the session.
But this same thing is working fine in Oracle 9.i.
There are no out parameter and no DML, DDL and DCL statement in this fucntion.
Could you please get back me what is the problem on it.
Regards
SUNCheck why your session hangs.
Just a few ideas:
* Blocking locks?
* Endless loop?
* Performance (maybe it is just slow in orac8i and you have to wait a bit longer). Check the execution plans of the SQL statements in your function.
* Don't use a function, but direct SQL, it is faster in both versions. -

Hi,
I am to trying to fetch session id of a previously submitted process of a search button......so that i can display the search results in a different page.....so is there any sql query or pl/sql procedure to fetch the session id.>
Please update your forum profile with a real handle instead of "968337".
I am to trying to fetch session id of a previously submitted process of a search button......It's not all clear what you are trying to do. The documentation describes an APEX session and its ID thus:
>
A session is a logical construct that establishes persistence (or stateful behavior) across page views. Each session is assigned a unique identifier. The Application Express engine uses this identifier (or session ID) to store and retrieve an application's working set of data (or session state) before and after each page view.
>
This means that each page view and page submission does not have its own session ID, but uses the session ID established when the user's current session began (which is usually through logon and authentication).
Given this definition of session and session ID, are you therefore referring to the ID of some previous user session in which a page was submitted by a search button? Or some private meaning that you have yet to fully explain?
so that i can display the search results in a different page.....so is there any sql query or pl/sql procedure to fetch the session id.The session ID of the current session is available using the the built-in substitution string<tt>APP_SESSION</tt> built-in substitution string.
When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
<li>Full APEX version
<li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
<li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
<li>Theme
<li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
Following the guidelines in these documents will also help to explain the problem in much more detail and with sufficient background for it to be understood:
<li>+How to ask questions+
<li>+{message:id=9360002}+
With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand. -

Is it possible to trace users sql query disconnected from the session
One of my users used to run the sql query daily, Now her machine rebooted and she lost all the sql query. is there any way to trap the sql what she used to run? I have the os/sql username....
thxuser587112 wrote:
Yes we are using 10.2.0.3. main requirement of user is all the sql query she used to run.To get this query she is giving me her os user.And says why it is not possible?What would that be possible? If this database is reserved for her only that could be possible.
Once she lost her session, there's no reliable method to trace all her SQL queries. The SID will be reused by Oracle, her SQL could be flushed out of shared pool, consider Oracle is designed to tackle with thousands of queries per seconds there's no feasible way to save all these information without impact on performance.
So unless you had sql trace turned on her session or the database is reserved for her use only, then no it's not possible to retrieve all her SQLs and guarantee it. You might be able recover some of SQL from the mentioned DBA views but no guarantee what so ever.
PS. it's no guarantee to get all her SQLs even her session is still active, unless SQL trace were turned on.

public static synchronized DBTransaction getDBTransaction(){
FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
ValueBinding vb = ctx.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{data}");
BindingContext bc = (BindingContext)vb.getValue(ctx.getCurrentInstance());
DataControl dc = bc.findDataControl("AppModuleDataControl");
ApplicationModuleImpl am = ((ApplicationModuleImpl)(ApplicationModule)dc.getDataProvider());
return am.getDBTransaction();
and then user DBTransaction object to create Statement and PreparedStatement you can find those in java doc.
