Call manager SQL query stopped suddently

Some query services stopped suddendly, I can not run CRD in serviceability tool and can not run Query analyzer to retrieve detail data. Does any one know how to check the service and retart the service without reboot the system?

Hi
Log onto the CallManager server desktop, and then click on 'start', 'run', and type 'services.msc'
This will give you a list of all system services.
On the right, click on the 'Startup Type' column to sort them in order of which start automatically. If any have 'Automatic' but do not have 'Started' in the 'Status' column, they should probably be restarted.
The most likely service to have failed will be MSSQL.

Aaron

  • Session Manager - SQL QUERY

    I want to get the query fired by OBIEE to database. I'm able to get it through the session manager in the Administration Settings. But for some reports it is firing multiple queries.
    Is there any way to combine them?

    Hi,
    It depends on your datamodel. If the BI server 'thinks' it is the best way to get the desired results it makes multiple queries and stitches the datasets together into one result set. You can raise your logging level to see what happens.

  • How to run a SQL query which is stored in a column using PL/SQL?

    Hello
    I have a table A and one of the column values is select * from emp where empno :=xyz;
    Now I would like to call this SQL query using a cursor in PL/SQL and run this for all the empno's and insert them into a temp table.
    Can anybody help me in writing this PL/SQL query?

    The primary reason for doing this is we are calculating percentiles on an entity sales for different range periods, and there are several sql queries stored in a cloumn, so we would like to know whether we can run these queries by calling them in a pl/sql query, Its not necessary that we need to use a cursor, but once fetching the result set of the query we would like to insert them in a table.Vamsi,
    As said in response to Satya, executing dynamic SQL, looping over the result set and inserting the results one by one in a temporary table, is a horribly bad idea. Especially in terms of performance, but also regarding the maintainability of your code. It's just way more complex than necessary.
    If you want to calculate percentages, then use analytic or aggregate functions in SQL to do so. If you want to store them, use a single INSERT SELECT statement.
    If you want to continue on the same path, use Satya's code and use it inside a loop.

  • Need to send success or failure message to BAPI of SQL query action block

    Hi All,
    I need to send success or failure message(i.e. 1 or 0) to BAPI which has been called below sql query action block in transaction
    Here in SAP, i have created on BAPI with one import parameter and one export parameter.
    In the sql query action block, it insert records in the database table. If it fail or success, that message(numeric value 1 or 0) has to send to SAP program through BAPI.
    I have created a SAP ABAP program which sends message to MII Message listener through RFC then in the process rule message it will call transaction, in transaction, sql query will insert records into database table.  if it success or fail, it will pass to BAPI. And i calling that BAPI in the same SAP ABAP Program to show in the output screen.
    Here the issues, i am not getting the value from BAPI which has send by the transaction in MII.
    SAP Jco, I have mapped in conf. links --> BAPI input with sql query sucess

    i need to pass a value of the ring text at once. What method i can use?

    Hi jeyanthi,
    i´m not sure if this is what you asking for, but if you want to have all ring elements in one string, then try this.
    Hope it helps.

  • Stream Line SQL Query

    Hello all,
    I have a table that contains more than 100 000 records, structure seen below. I am trying to perform simple queries on this table and it is taking FOREVER for the query to return (in excess of 10 minutes). The only field that contains unique data is the 'key', which I have made the primary key.
    Table: WORK
    Name Null? Type
    ASSIGNMENT_NO NOT NULL NUMBER(2)
    START_DATE NOT NULL DATE
    END_DATE DATE
    ID_NO NOT NULL NUMBER(9)
    CODE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(4)
    REF_KEY NOT NULL NUMBER(9)
    STATUS NOT NULL VARCHAR2(1)
    ID_NAME NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
    LAST_MODIFIED_DATE NOT NULL DATE
    KEY NOT NULL NUMBER(9)
    As I need to pass into the query varying data I Use a PL/SQL function to call the SQL query.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION THE_SAMPLE (THE_REF_KEY, THE_ID_NO, PUT_A_DATE_HERE)
    RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    CURSOR C IS
    SELECT w1.code
    FROM work w1
    WHERE w1.ref_key = THE_REF_KEY
    AND w1.ID_NO = THE_ID_NO
    AND w1.status <> 'I'
    AND w1.start_date <= PUT_A_DATE_HERE
    AND (w1.end_date IS NULL or w1.end_date >= PUT_A_DATE_HERE)
    AND w1.start_date = (SELECT MAX(W2.start_date)
    FROM work w2
    WHERE w2.REF_KEY = W1.REF_KEY
    AND w2.ID_NO = W1.ID_NO
    AND w2.status <> 'I'
    AND w2.start_date <= PUT_A_DATE_HERE
    AND (w2.end_date IS NULL or w2.end_date >= PUT_A_DATE_HERE));
    out_rec c%ROWTYPE;
    begin
    begin
    open C;
    fetch c into out_rec;
    CLOSE C;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN no_data_found THEN
    out_rec.code := NULL;
    END;
    return out_rec.code;
    end THE_SAMPLE;
    I am looking for a quick way to accomplish the same task. The main reason is that I am feeding this SQL statement about 20 000 different ref_keys each with a particular ID_NO. Since it seems to take a long time just to process one element I did want crunch data for the next month.
    Any help, idea, comments would be greatly welcomed.
    Any ideas on how to stream line this?

    Hummm... I am still working on it, but this is what I have come up with so far:
    One way is to do this use this
    CURSOR C IS
    SELECT w1.code
    FROM work w1, (SELECT MAX(w2.start_date) as MAX_DATE
    FROM work w2
    WHERE w2.ref_key = THE_REF_KEY
    AND w2.ID_NO = THE_ID_NO
    and w2.status <> 'I'
    AND w2.start_date <= PUT_A_DATE_HERE
    AND (w2.end_date IS NULL or w2.end_date >= PUT_A_DATE_HERE)) GET_MAX
    WHERE w1.ref_key = THE_REF_KEY
    AND w1.ID_NO = THE_ID_NO
    and w1.status <> 'I'
    AND w1.start_date <= PUT_A_DATE_HERE
    AND (w1.end_date IS NULL or w1.end_date >= PUT_A_DATE_HERE)
    AND w1.start_date = GET_MAX.MAX_DATE;
    This way does seem to work a bit faster. I will have to see as the hours pass by.
    I am still looking for ways that will process this faster.

  • SSRS Report Viewer 2012 Cancel Link on loading spinner not stopping SQL Query

    Hi
    I searched the forum for this one and didn't find anything germane, so here goes.
    In SSRS 2012 when running a report interactively if you hit cancel it basically does nothing but stop the spinner and prevent the request from completing.
    I'd like to kill the SQL Query (dataset refresh) when the Cancel link is pressed.
    I recall seeing on article somewhere about doing a callback and calling some other method on the web service to kill the query, but I can't find it now.
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi James,
    In SQL Server Reporting Services, a job will be created by SQL Server Agent if any of the following processes is underway:
    query execution on a remote or local database server
    report processing
    report rendering
    To cancel a job that is running on the report server, we can cancel the job directly or reduce the report execution time-out value in the SQL Server Management Studio. Please refer to the steps below:
    Open SQL Server Management Studio, and connect to "Reporting Services".
    Under the Report Server node, right-click on the "Jobs" folder and select "Refresh". Then, right-click on "Jobs" again and click "Cancel All Jobs".
    Right-click on the Report Server node and open the "Server Properties" dialog.
    Click the "Execution" option, and set the "Limit report execution to the following number of seconds:" to a much smaller number. After this issue is resolved, this configuration should revert to the previous state.
    Reference:
    Managing a Running Process
    Setting Time-out Values for Report and Shared Dataset Processing
    In addition, we can also use the KILL Transact-SQL statement to terminate a normal connection by terminating the transactions that are associated with the specified session ID. For the details information, you can refer to:
    KILL (Transact-SQL)
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Using/calling  a parameter in the SQL Query!

    Hi
    How do I use or call a parameter from the parameterform in my SQL query in Reports ??
    Thanks in advange *S
    /Stig :-)

    If you have user parameters of P_BEGINDATE and P_ENDDATE, in your query you would reference them by the following:
    FROM auditlog
    WHERE (eventtimestamp between :P_BEGINDATE and :P_ENDDATE
    or :P_BEGINDATE IS NULL)
    If you are using the report through Oracle Applications Concurrent Manager make sure the Token (when setting up parameters for the concurrent program)matches the user parameter exactly.

  • Starting and stopping an SQL query from within a Shell script

    DB version:10gR2
    OS Version:AIX
    We have a C++ application called WpnCreate.cpp, which is causing some locking problems.
    So, we have decided to capture(using SPOOL) the locking info(session info, blocking program,..etc) using an SQL query.
    WpnCreate.cpp program is initiated by a shell script. So we need this SQL query(.sql) to start firing just before WpnCreate.cpp is called and when WpnCreate.cpp has finished executing, we need the SQL query execution to stop.
    But how do i stop the sql query execution? Should i capture the session id and serial# of this session and use kill -9 at the end of the shell script?
    Flow of the Shell script should be like this
    Step1. Start firing the SQL query which captures the locking info and SPOOL them to a file
    Step2. Execute WpnCreate.cpp program
    Step3. Stop the firing of SQL query once WpnCreate.cpp has finished executing ( i don't know how)How will i go about achieving this?

    How can you run your step 2 untill & unless your step 1 gets over. You can run in background but then it will not capture the correct information.
    I think you need to run your step 1 after step 2 , then only you will be able to capture the information.
    You can run your C++ program in background and can wait for some time using sleep command and then run the query to check the locking information.

  • SQL query  in managed bean

    hi
    i have some idea about setwhereClause() method ..... but in my case i want to use one SQL query (select * from tab )...i dont know how to use ....
    (without view object we cant use setwhereclause() method thatsy i have to use sql statement in managed bean ........)
    thanks in advance

    First of all, you don't want to have any SQL in a managed bean. Managed beans are part of the View layer, and the query should be part of the Model. So what you want to do is add some code to your Model project. So you are trying to do "SELECT * FROM tab". Why not just create a read-only View Object (VO) for the query in the Model (assuming that you are using ADF BC).
    Now as for setWhereClause - what do you need in your where clause? You can add where clauses to the query that defines your VO, without needing to resort to using this method. You can even add bind variables for the where clauses, and just drag the ExecuteWithParams method onto your pages, which will give you a place to set the bind variables before executing the query.
    You can create your own method in the VO's implementation class, in which you may call setWhereClauseParam to gain more control over how the bind variables are set. Then you make the method available as an operation in the data controls by making it an exposed method to the client interface. You can use setWhereClause in such a method if you need to do so, but there are good performance reasons not to do so if a bind variable will do the job. setWhereClause can also set you up for SQL Injection attacks on your application's security.

  • SQL query slow with call to function

    I have a SQL query that will return in less than a second or two with a function in-line selected in the "from" clause of the statement. As soon as I select that returned value in the SQL statement, the statement takes from anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes to return. Here is a simplified sample from the statement:
    This statement returns in a second or 2.
    select A.pk_id
    from stu_schedule A, stu_school B, stu_year C, school_year D,
    (select calc_ytd_class_abs2(Z.PK_ID,'U') ytd_unx
    from stu_schedule Z) II
    where B.pk_id = A.fk_stu_school
    and C.pk_id = B.fk_stu_year
    and D.pk_id = C.year
    and D.school_year = '2011';
    if I add this function call in, the statement runs extremely poor.
    select A.pk_id,
    II.ytd_unx
    from stu_schedule A, stu_school B, stu_year C, school_year D,
    (select calc_ytd_class_abs2(Z.PK_ID,'U') ytd_unx
    from stu_schedule Z) II
    where B.pk_id = A.fk_stu_school
    and C.pk_id = B.fk_stu_year
    and D.pk_id = C.year
    and D.school_year = '2011';
    Here is the function that is called:
    create or replace FUNCTION calc_ytd_class_abs2 (p_fk_stu_schedule in varchar2,
    p_legality in varchar2) return number IS
    l_days_absent number := 0;
    CURSOR get_class_abs IS
    select (select nvl(max(D.days_absent),'0')
    from cut_code D
    where D.pk_id = C.fk_cut_code
    and (D.legality = p_legality
    or p_legality = '%')) days_absent
    from stu_schedule_detail B, stu_class_attendance C
    where B.fk_stu_schedule = p_fk_stu_schedule
    and C.fk_stu_schedule_detail = B.pk_id;
    BEGIN
    FOR x in get_class_abs LOOP
    l_days_absent := l_days_absent + x.days_absent;
    END LOOP;
    return (l_days_absent);
    END calc_ytd_class_abs2;

    Query returns anywhere from 6000 to 32000 rows. For each of those rows a parameter is passed in to 4 different functions to get ytd totals. When I call the functions in the in-line view but do not select from them in the main SQL, the report (oh, this is Application Express 4.0 interactive reports, just an FYI) runs fast. The report comes back in a few seconds. But when I select from the in-line view to display those ytd totals, the report runs extremely slow. I know there are the articles about context switching and how mixing SQL with PL/SQL performs poorly. So I tried a pipeline table function where the function for the ytd totals populate the columns of the pipeline table and I select from the pipeline table in the SQL query in the interactive report. That seemed to perform a little worse from what I can tell.
    Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Looking for a SQL query to get all the possible Alert Messages from the Rules in a Management Pack

    For reporting, I'm looking to get a SQL query of all the possible Alert Messages for Rules configured in a Management Pack (not necessarily the ones that have thrown alerts).  I can do this for Monitors, but not for Rules.
    The configured alert messages for the Management Pack Monitors
    go like this:  ManagementPack > MonitorView> RuleModule > RuleModule.Alert Message > Localized Text
    The configured alert messages for the Management Pack Rules
    should go something like this, but there is a missing link:  ManagementPack > RuleView > RuleModule > ? Missing Link ? > Localized Text
    The Rules are tied to the Module, but I don't see a connection from the RulesModule to the Alert Message that I see in the LocalizedText. The Rule names do not always equal the Alert name.
    Can someone provide the missing link?

    Hi,
    please try below powershell code to find the corresponding management pack for specific alert:
    $Alert = get-scomalert | where {$_.Name -like 'Agent Proxy Not Enabled*'} | select -first 1
    If ($alert.IsMonitorAlert -eq "True") {
    write-host "Ths is a monitor-generated alert"
    get-scommonitor -ID $Alert.MonitoringRuleID | select Enabled, DisplayName, ManagementPack
    else
    write-host "This is a rule-generated alert"

  • Error while calling the function which returns SQL Query!!!

    Hi,
    I have a Function which returns SQL query. I am calling this function in my APEX report region source.
    The query is dynamic SQL and its size varies based on the dynamic "where clause" condition.
    But I am not able to execute this function.It gives me the following error in APEX region source.
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    Even in SQL* Plus or SQL developer also same error .
    The length of my query is more than 4000. I tried changing the variable size which holds my query in the function.
    Earlier it was
    l_query varchar2(4000)
    Now I changed to
    l_query varchar2(32767).
    Still it is throwing the same error.
    Can anybody help me to resolve this.???
    Thanks
    Alaka

    Hi Varad,
    I am already using 32k of varchar2. Then also it is not working.
    It is giving the same error. I think there is something to do with buffer size.
    My query size is not more than 4200. Even if i give 32k of varchar2 also buffer is able to hold only 3997 size of the query only.
    Error is
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    Tried CLOB also. It is not working.
    Any other solution for this.
    Thanks
    Alaka
