Set Core Prefix , can value be a variable ?

<c:set var="foo" scope="session" value="bar"/>
<%
String varSet = (String)session.getAttribute("foo");
%>
For the above variable output is bar...simple
now instead of value = "bar"
can we have
String test = "bar";
<c:set var="foo" scope="session" value="${test}"/>
Is this possible ?

Sorry, JSTL can't access scriptlet variables directly like that.
You would have to use a regular jsp <%= expr %>
So if you have a JSP2.0 container, this would work:
<c:set var="foo" scope="session" value="<%= test %>"/>or this would work in any container (but only with string values):
<c:set var="foo> scope="session><%= test %></c:out>Cheers,

  • Filling up a variable value from another variable

    Hi,
    I have two date fields, one calmonth characteristic ZCALMON (as char) and other calmonth charactaeristic 0CALMON as time dimension (standard bw).
    But at query level, I would like to user enter only one variable value 0PCALMON for 0CALMON (say only for date characteristic as time dimension). This date variable value should get copied to other date characteristic ZCALMON (as char).
    I can do this by using the customer exit varibale (without writing any abap code) and using the copy variable from other variable options. But I am not able to use the offset on ZCALMON.
    How can i Use offset using customer exit variable on ZCALMON.
    cheers
    raj

    Hi,
    you can use customer exit variable which will read the value of the 0calmonth variable and pass it to the zcalmonth.
    While populating the value, do the calculation or the off-set and send the value to zvcalmonth (Variable).
    WHEN 'ZVCALMON'.
       IF i_step = '2'.
      Loop at i_t_var_range into i_s_var_range where vnam = '0PCALMON' .
        zdat = i_s_var_range-low.
      endloop.

    When the loop starts, the value 10 is assigned to v_num. You should see that value displayed by the put_line statement.
    After that, v_num is set to 10 - 1 = 9.
    Next, the EXIT condition is evaluated. At this point, v_num is 9, not 0, so the loop runs again. V_num is set to 10 again, and the loop continues forever (or, in some versions, until the dbms_output buffer is filled and an error occurs.)

  • Using action script 2 how can i send a variable value to a dynamic textbox on a different keyframe?

    using action script 2 how can i send a variable value to a dynamic textbox on a different keyframe?

    Thanks for your swift response.
    That sounds like a good solution, but the code I have on frame 2 is this
    timer = 0;
    countup = function(){
    timer++;
    countupInterval = setInterval(countup,100);
    If I added the same actionscript to frame 3 which has a dynamic textbox with a variable timer attached wouldn't it just put the timer back to 0? What I want is the last known value that was given when it was in frame 2.
    I am thinking of temple run here, I am trying to caculate the total distance(set in the timer variable) from the previous try.
    Hope this makes sense.

  • Can I perform a lookup to verify the value of a variable is contained in another list column?

    I am working in Sharepoint Designer and am trying to figure out how I can set a condition in an approval workflow to only complete a task if the value of a variable is contained in another list column. So if I had a list called A with column
    A1 and I am  working in the approval workflow, I only want the approval to complete if my variable is equal to any value in list A column 1. Otherwise I want to keep the approval task pending. I am very new to sharepoint so any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    You can use the condition "if any value equals value". Please  refer below links for reference.

  • Can you change the value of a variable that is reset by a parameter?

    Sorry if this is simple but I just crashed a package and can't do an autopsy. I suspect I sent it into an infinite loop. I know you can't change the value of any passed in parameters. What I tried to do was have the parameter set the value of a variable
    and then I tried to change the value of the variable. Is that even allowed?
    I was trying to do this:
    MyCheckVariable = MyParameter (which equals true)
    (some cool stuff happens)
    MyCheckVariable = False
    I hit F5 and my package turned into the Energizer Bunny. Is the way I try to reset the variable the culprit?

    This is a prototype so I just created a project parameter and set it to true. In the real world the parameter will be used to control an optional part of the process because on a re-run after error that part doesn't have to be ran again.
    So when I say MyCheckVariable = MyParameter (which equals true) in reality what I actually have is in the variables window I'm using an expression and it looks like this in the variables window
    name = runDownload
    Scope = Package
    Data Type = Boolean
    Value = True (but greyed out)
    Expression = @[$Project::param_runDownload]

  • Set a value for a variable of type exit

    Hello,
    I am filling some variables with multiple values in user exit.
    Now, i would like to place some of these characteritics in Header area. It's of course impossible because there is multiple values but ...
    I will put dropdown box in the web application for these chars. The problem is that by default, any value is assigned to the dropdwom ( any variable value is set).
    Do you know how i can set a value for theses variable after filling all values by the user exit. SO that only one value is selected for the header and all others values available in the dropdown ?

    Hi,
    Off late, this seems to be a usual requirement.
    Just create a Z program to call the FM API_SEMBPS_VARIABLE_SET and then call the FM API_SEMBPS_POST.
    you should be preparing the content/set value to pass to the FMs. check the whereused list to see how this FMs can be used/called.
    finally, run this program for your variable, after the loading/filling the exit variable. Please note that to set 'exit' variables, the sourcing variable's content need to be read/set first before setting the exit varible.
    HTH,
    Regards,

    bothfly, It's very easy....here you go!
    Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
    Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
    When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
    Under the General button choose
    Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
    The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
    In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
    To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
    iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
    If you find you can't change any of Image Captures preferences or can't access any drop down menus or they are greyed out, check to make sure Image Capture is loose in the Applications folder and not within a sub folder.
    I actually really like doing it this way. I save the movies into dated folders and save the images into dated folders. It makes it very easy to backup just the movies and images this way.

    Hai man
    I have generated a daily attendance roll in oracle forms and it executed correctly but while fetching it fetch some of the records. So i have declared a variable in a block and in my coding.
    For those variable i need to pass values from select statement or using cursor.According to that i can use in my ifelse statement.
    If It is clear Or else see the coding
    declare

    in_time varchar2(25);-------------------------- these are the variable i going to use in select statement to pass values
    out_time varchar2(25); so that i can use in if else statement.
    begin
    loop
    go_block('TEST_SRI');
    FIRST_RECORD;
    select BARCODE,INTIME,OUTTIME into bar_code,in_time,out_time from dail_att where BARCODE= :Barcode
    and ATTEND_DATE = :bardate;
    if :bartime between 0100 and 0630 then

  • How can i reuse same variables that i create using c:set var="index" /

    hi all,
    please some one helpme!!!!!!
    how can i reuse same variable that i create using
    <c:set var="index" value="${0}"/>
    cause later in the program i use index to do some condition and based on that i increment ...
    so for example if i say...
    <c:if test="${index==0}">
    <c:set var="index" value="${index+1}"/>
    </c:if>
    will it be like
    if(index==0)
    index++;
    can i do like i did be4. if not what do i need to do to reuse. cause i use the variable atleast 5 time and its keep changing on diff condition level.

    Have you tried it?
    It should work, provided you are on the same page.
    The c:set tag creates the variable in pageScope by default.
    If you forward to another JSP you need to set the scope to be "request" so that it is still available.

    Hi,
    We want to set values for 2 session variables (USER and ROLEID) using HttpHeader in obiee 11g. Has anyone tried this? How can we achieve this?
    I found the below note on the forum for setting value for the USER session variable. how can we set the ROLEID session variable also? is it possible to set values for 2 variables?
    for setting the USER session variable,
    You should add this in $BI_HOME/bifoundation/web/display/authenticationschemas.xml:
    <SchemaKeyVariable source="httpHeader" nameInSource="Proxy-Remote-User" forceValue="SSO"/>
    <AuthenticationSchema name="SSO" displayName="Single Sign On" userID="IMPERSONATE" proxyUserID="NQ_SESSION.RUNAS" options="noLogoffUI noLogonUI">
    <RequestVariable source="httpHeader" type="auth" nameInSource="Proxy-Remote-User" biVariableName="IMPERSONATE" options="required"/>
    </AuthenticationSchema>
    Please suggest.

    I think maybe your SnmpValue type or value is not corrent.
    1.3.6.1.4.1.7064.201.1.200.100.0 is Enum control type
    when I use
    SnmpValue val = new SnmpString("0");
    It doesn't work, but when I use
    SnmpValue val = new SnmpInt(0);
    It works. I think the JDMK should give some warning message when the type is not correct. :)
    The code is following:
    final SnmpVarBindList setList = new SnmpVarBindList(" set varbind list ");
    SnmpOid oid = new SnmpOid("1.3.6.1.4.1.7064.201.1.200.100.0");
    SnmpValue val = new SnmpInt(0);
    SnmpVarBind valueBind = new SnmpVarBind(oid, val);
    setList.addVarBind( valueBind );
    SnmpRequest setRequest = session.snmpSetRequest(null, setList);
