Set file permission in AO?

I created an simple AO to distribute Console One to workstations. The app
works good if you are a local admin but if you are running under user
rights you receive license errors when viewing object properties in C1.
The problem is the licenses.read file located at the root of C: needs to
have modify permissions for users. What is the best way to set modify
rights to this particular file after it is distributed? Or maybe this file
can be placed somewhere else? I tried putting it in the C1 directory but
that didn't work. I'm open to any ideas on this.
Thanks

You can run CACLS.EXE to set permissions on a file.
This could be run from a ZEN app with elevated rights.

  • How to set file permission using Oracle FTP Adapter

    Hi,
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.4. I am trying to put a file using Oracle FTP adapter on unix box. The file that gets written to target system has file permission as RW/R/R. But this is a legacy system, and for them to consume this file - they expect the file permission to be RW/RW/R.
They have set the .profile with the required permissions for the ftp user account that we are using. But still when my BPEL process writes a file to unix box through ftp adapter, the file permission is RW/R/R.
Is there any way to control file permissions while writing files using ftp adapter? Any help would be highly appreciated.

But these setting needs to be done on unix server. Yes, that's the way to go... There's no config for that on FtpAdapter as far as I know...
This setting will enable the same configurations for all other ftp accounts on the server, which doesnt sound correct. Any other way of doing this? Or can this be done only for one ftp account? You have to check if your ftp server is capable of having different umask for different ftp users... I believe most do not...

  • Setting file permission policies? Help!

I'm developing a module that generates reports of data from a database. This module gives the user the oportunity to either preview the generated report, save the report to the local file system or print directlly to a system printer.
The application is running through a J2EE web service, as an applet, and it's the save part I'm having trouble with. I'm using javax.swing.JFileChooser for easy locating the file in which to save the report, but there are missing FilePermissions. I'm guessing this has to be set on the client machine.
The exception I'm getting is as follows:
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied(java.util.PropertyPermission user.dir.read)
What I want, is for the applet to automatically configure itself to be able to access the filesystem. I do not want the user to go to the trouble of generating policy files for himself, the applet must run the same way on all client machines.
    How can I do this?

This is not under my control. My module is only one in several which make up a client-server application designed for a large coorporation. The desition has been made to run the application under Internet Explorers rule and I have to design my module accordinglly.
Are there any ways around? To refrase the question slightlly... How can I use the JFileChooser through Internet Explorer?

I have inadvertently changed a file permission setting. When opening Aperture I get the following; "Aperture cannot access this library. To use this library make sure it's file permissions are set correctly". I am an old dude new to Mac OS. Looked in settings but have no idea how to allow file sharing to myself. I have been using Aperture actively for 6 weeks. I'm the only one using this Mac. What up?

    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

  • Set Folder Permission with CSV File

I currently have a batch file that I use to set the folder permission on a users folder.  The batch file of course requires me to manually set two variables.  I'd like to have a master csv file containing this info and a powershell script to allow
me to set these permission much more quickly.  Here's my current batch file:
    Set User=123A
    Set Folder=123
    icacls C:\Data\%folder% /grant %user%:(OI)(CI)F
My csv file would appear as 123A,123
I did do a search and found a few posts on this subject, but couldn't wrap my head around how to modify them to fit my needs.

    FOR /F "eol=; tokens=1,2* delims=, " %%i in (myfile.txt) do icacls C:\Data\%%j /grant %%i:(OI)(CI)F

  • Set-tmp-permission is not running in my Solaris 10 Netra CP3060 blade serve

    Hi All,
In my Solaris 10 - Netra CP3060, the following particular script is not running:
    lrc:/etc/rc2_d/S00set-tmp-permissions
    lrc:/etc/rc2_d/S07set-tmp-permissions
Above script is to set the default permission of /tmp & /var/tmp while rebooting if it found any inconsistencies. I changed the file permission of /tmp and rebooted my server. As the above scripts are not running, it shouldn't change the file permission to default. But the file permission changed after reboot.
Please let me know is there any other service running related to this in my server. Was this script incorporated in SMF facility, if so whats that service name?
    Thanks,
    Ram.

I tried to append the command mv form1.fmx FORM1.FMX' to the compile.sh shell script but also it's not working although the rest lines of the shell script is running well

  • Constant file permission problems

    Hello out there..
I'm currently trying to sort out a problem with - what I guess is my - file permissions.
The problem reappears, even after a long disk repair session, where loads of issues are found and repaired.
At the end it says everything is ok, but if I click repair again, it starts again , and even after restart, the problem is back again?!?!
I've set my permission as follows, (to those of you who doesn't speak Danish - it's "read & write"), but it still says I have "special access"?
Why? and what can I do to fix it..
    Please help me..

    Disk Repair or Permission Repair?
Long list from a Permission Repair that come back is normal. Nothing wrong. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1448
Long lists of problems from a Disk Repair that keep coming back is bad news. Likely failing disk.
Special Access means you have Access Control List entries set for the particular directory/file.
Did you every change permissions and then "Apply to Enclosed?"
Do you actually have file access problems, or are you just repairing permissions and think the long list indicates a problem?

  • How do I set file permissions

I need to rename a file but am getting a file permission error. What can I do?

    Thanks GerdW for the info.
Percy, if you are on the Windows platform, you could use the DOS command ATTRIB to set or remove permissions. Type "attrib/?" under DOS to see the usage.
Also see the attached code. Replace the "testfile.txt" to your file name and give an appropriate working directory. Hope this helps.

    제품 : ORACLE SERVER
    작성날짜 : 1998-04-28
    제목
    ====
    permission 을 허용하는 방법
    문제
    ====
    따라서, UNIX 에서는 $ORACLE_HOME/log 나 initSID.ora, configSID.ora 에
    해결
    ====
    tracefiles_public =true 라는 parameter 를 initSID.ora 에
    setting 하시면 됩니다.
    1. cd $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
    2. UNIX,VMS 의 init<sid>.ora 에 다음을 추가하십시오.
    tracefiles_public=true
    3. save init<sid>.ora
    4. restartup database
    $umask 000
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 oracle dba 2945 Apr 16 10:11 ora_28494.trc

I am trying to resolve some file permission and ownership problems that are left over from using Migration Assistant to set up my iMac from an older iMac. In a terminal session when I use the ls -l command I'm getting a file/directory owner of 504. Sometimes the group is admin and sometimes the group is also 504. I think this is because the owner of the file on the old computer is not present in the new one but I want to be sure before I just change the owner and group.

The following should give you an indication->
    id -un 504
