Set global form autocomplete suggestion

I want to set a list of common entries to appear in drop-down menu for every form from every site.
Example: I have two e-mails ([email protected], [email protected]) and two common usernames (e.g. pintassilgo, pintfirefox). I'd like that when I type "p" in any form of any site, the drop-down menu suggest these autocompletes: "[email protected]", "[email protected]", "pintassilgo" and "pintfirefox".

I've tested many extensions.
With Clippings I need to memorize a shortcut key for each entry; with Form History Control I can add entries to autocomplete drop-down menu by field name, but not for ALL fields, whatever the field name.

  • My form autocomplete shows blank drop down menus with 'Form History' still stated beside the blanks when I type in entries I previously entered.

It is remembering what I entered, but the options are blank. Please help, this is really annoying. I also lose form history (when it was working properly) after I leave Firefox idle for more than 5 minutes. It's been like that for a long time, but my form history (autocomplete) used to stay intact if I left the computer for a bit. I know exactly how to use my privacy options, they are set the way I always had them set when form autocomplete used to work properly for me.

Yep, this is def a problem with the google toolbar. I did find that if you turn off the google autofill, you can keep the toolbar enabled and the problem goes away. The browser then uses Firefox's autofill instead. Thanks for leading me down the right track. I didn't want to lose Google toolbar, but not having form history has been a pain, since i use it for shipping packages and not having it makes it time consuming.

In short, I want the code within:
    ----- form1.#subform[0].Item1Cost::calculate: - (JavaScript, client) -------------------------------
...to be able to access the variables I have created in:
    ----- form1.#subform[0]::initialize: - (FormCalc, client) ------------------------------------------
(I have assumed that this is where I would store Global variables)
At this stage, the global variables cannot be accessed with the configuration above.  The only was I can get this to work is to cut and paste the global vairables into each form1.#subform[0] item, which of course defeats the purpose of global variables!  I plan to have many more items so would not want to duplicate the global variables for all of them!
Can somebody show me how to do this?
Any help is very much appreciated!
    Thanks

Message was edited by: stanbridgej - colors and or fonts won't save.  Have bolded my question to make code (non-bolded) easier to read (I hope).

    Hi MorisTM,
    Thanks for the reply!
Yes, I saw that option (I should have mentioned I already knew about it), but was wondering if there is a way I can do this via code.
There are two reason I want to be able to do it via code (only one of which may be valid):
    1) I can automatically generate my pricing code form another inhouse app.
    2) I am hoping that later on once I get this working I will be able take it a step further and get the data directly from a MySQL database!
    Cheers though!
    Any other suggestions?

    Hi,
If you search the forums for Paul's example LockAllFields. This contains a function in a script object that you can call from the click event of the checkbox.

  • SQ01 (How to set Global Area as default)

    Hi All
In SQ01, i find 2 environments in Query Areas - Global Area & Standard Area. Everytime i execute SQ01 transaction, it takes me to Standard Area, then i have to change it to Global Area & then select the user group. I would like to know how i can set Global Area as default & also a particular user group, so that everytime i run SQ01, it directly takes me to Global Area & the particular user group, so i can execute my query directly instead of having to change it each time.
Hope my problem is clear, await inputs.
    Vivek

    Hello Vivek,
You need to maintian some default parameters in your User master record.
    Parameter ID :
    AQB for User Group
    AQW for Query Area.
Select the AQB from the drop-down and give your default user group in the parameter value.

  • How to set a form field focus

Is there a simple way to set a form field focus... so basically on load the field focus is set to a specific field?  I know how to write it in javascript but was wondering if there is a simple way to basically select the field and click a button or two and get the same result?  thanks.

The script for that is extremely small and very simple.
In all hosety, it would probably take longer to edit it through the DW interface than by hand.
Add this after your form and change the bold areas to the name of the form and the name of the input you want to have focus on...
    <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
    document.forms['myform'].elements['mytextfield'].focus();
    </script>
Those two things are the only items that will ever change.

  • Best way to set global environment variables?

What is the best way to set global (i.e. for all users of the computer, ideally all shells as well) environment variables under Leopard?
I know that they can be set via ~/.bashrc, ~/.profile or in my case ~/.zshrc files in the terminal on a per user basis.
Also, they can be set for GUI apps as well via ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist on a per user basis.
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/BPRuntimeConfig/Artic les/EnvironmentVars.html
The path can apparently be set globally by adding files to /etc/paths.d/*
    http://blog.plotdevice.org/2008/04/global-path-in-mac-os-x-leopard/
Is there a way to set environment variables globally so that they are accessible to all users and all programs including nonstandard shells like zsh?
My inclination is to set them in /etc/rc.common but that seems like it might be a bad idea. I'd prefer something more like the /etc/paths.d/* solution that only involves adding files, not modifying existing ones. They should be less likely to be overwritten in a system update later.

They may be less likely to be overwritten than you fear. A lot of things depend on modifications to the system scripts like /etc/profile. Although I'd expect these to be broken by an upgrade to Leopard, for example, they have survived all Tiger upgrades on my machine. You could always have them source scripts in /usr/local, say, so that the work involved in reconfiguring them if they are overwritten is minimal. (Or you could just install your versions in /usr/local and make the system scripts symlinks to those versions - if anything is overwritten, it would be the symlink rather than the file itself. An automated start up script could even check and recreate the symlink if necessary.)

My hotmail access disappeared from my iPad. When I go to settings and click 'mail, contacts, calendars' the page freezes. It doesn't allow me to the account setting. Anyone have suggestions?

Your Settings app is crashing. Sometimes, the only way to fix this is by restoring the iOS software but hopefully it will not come to that.
    1. Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    2. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

  • Any way to set global variables except EAS console?

    Hi pros,
I am searching for a way to set global variables (used by business rules) automatically.
I got several variables which should change each month. I know the rule to set them.
However, I cannot find any way to set them through scripting or something else.
I tried to research EAS repository. The one that I found relevant is HBRVariables table.
I cannot find any tool can help this.
    Any one knows how?
    Appreciated......
    Casp Huang

Yes you can use substitution variables in business rules and they are widely used, it is relatively easy to automate the changing of values for subtitution values.
You can also put a sub var into the default value for a global variable in business rules.

  • How best to manage global forms

Looking for the best way to manage "Global forms". Where the same form (Output) may have different data displayed based on the country it is printed from.
Let's just use BA00, Order Confirmation as an example.
In the U.S. this output is on 8.5 X 11 inch letter paper, and has some specific texts which should be displayed in certain locations.
For Britain, we'd like to use the same form, but this will print on A4 paper, and have their own specific texts (in specific form locations)
Same difference for China, Greenland, Mexico, etc. Assume each "Country" is a Sales Organization in SAP.
How best to manage the output form configuration and controls?
If I use a condition record for BA00 that includes Sales Organization, is it left up to the SMARTFORM programmer to query the sales org. and determine what and where to output the appropriate texts for each country?
Is there a way to have a different form for each Sales Org, and how would this fom be "selected"?
Anyone got any other ways to more efficiently handle this situation ?
    Thanks in advance

Crikey ! Thanks for the quick response. That is where I was going, but wanted to get some other viewpoints

  • Change character set of Form?

I'm using Forms 10G, with the server running Unix.
I have some users complaining that if they copy and paste into the form from Word, all of the curly quotes and smart quotes don't get inserted into the database correctly.
    I don't see an entry for nls_lang in v$parameter.
I wrote pre-update trigger which does a replace of the curly quotes with regular quotes. This works fine on my Windows development box, but as soon as I move it to the Unix server it stops working.
What I'd like is a way to set the character encoding for the form to WE8ISO8869P1, but I'm both not sure if that is the correct solution and not sure how to do that.

You set the character set of Forms at the Forms server, not at compile time. Be sure to set the NLS_LANG environment variable on your Linux/Unix box before starting Oracle Forms. You can also try to edit ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env. I don't have access to a Forms server right now, so I can't test for you.

  • Set global roles

    Hi,
Is there a way to set global roles through weblogic ant tasks or command line utilities ?

    Hi,
There certain things you need to check
    1. Did you do user comparsion?
    2. Did you check the SCUL log?
SCUL  ->choose (error, unconfirmed & warning)  user / roles / profiles execute -> you will get list of users
Priority of resolving would be the same order   1. Error (red) 2. Unconfirmed (Gray) and 3. Warnings.(Yellow).
based on the error you can re distrubute the idoc.
    Procedure :
Select the user which you would like to re-distribute for a particular system -> it will display user  / roles / profile ->
Let stay roles  are Grayed -> highlight on the role -> click on F7 button or  cross mark(Distrbution)  . You will receive new window with selection of IDOC type. Select appropriate IDOC type -> choose roles -> continue.
    3. Text comparsion
To get a newly created role to a system quickly avoiding  Text Comparison to all systems i.e from CUA. Instead you can do text comparsion from child systems.
Finallly your SCUM settings are correct.
    Thanks,
    Sri

When I am filling a form and have to go back a page the stuff I have inserted disappears. Someone told me to set "PRESERVE FORMS" in my browser. I looked but did not find any likely adjustment. I have been in the habit pg taking a screen snip of my form details, but this is clumsy.
    I received was:
" Enable Preserve Form Contents for your web browser. It's located in
different places for different browsers, and it should be enabled by
default. I'm guess it's not enabled on your system. It will keep all the
fields intact in a form such as the e-mail page if you have to click on Back. "

If possible then try to open that page in a new tab via a middle-click or Ctrl and left-click to avoid losing the current form.
Note that you can hold down the left mouse button on the toolbar Back button to open the tab history menu and that you can middle-click an entry to open that page in a new tab.
