Set maximum of stepper unit off of cell

I would like to set the maximum range of a cell with stepper buttons by referencing another cell. In other words, if cell J10 contains the value "15", then the range for the stepper in cell K10 would be "0-15".

EDIT: Looking back to your most recent post, I see I misread the description and didn't make a very good match in the example below. I hope you can make some sense of it.

While you cannot make the stepper change its preset range, you could use conditional formatting to change the fill colour of the stepper cell to red when the stepper has been set to a value greater than the value in column C.
The formula(s) using the stepper value could also be revised to calculate their usual value only if the stepper value was less than or equal to the value in C, and to present a message when that condition was not met. This might also produce error triangles in any cells downstream from this formula, but these would clear when the stepper value (or the value in C) was corrected.
Here's an example. The results table is a lookup table containing the result to be returned for each value of the stepper cells. Steppers are in column B of the Main table, results are returned to column D:

The conditional format rule shown below. The example is for cell B2. The other cells in column B have the same rule, but use the column C cell in their own row as the holder of the value to be compared.
The formula in Main:: Column D is:

Enter in D2 and fill down to the rest of the cells in that column.
Examples constructed in Numbers '09. Numbers 3 will have a different appearance, but the rules are essentially the same.

The principle is as follows: a table uses certain input components for editing a cell value, e.g. a JCheckBox for Boolean-type values or a JTextField for textual/numerical values. By default, a JTextField doesn't have any size limit, so you can enter as many chars as you want. In order to change this behaviour, you'll have to
1.) create a JTextField that does have a size limit and
2.) set a CellEditor on the JTable which uses this manipulated JTextField.
An easy way for 1.) is to create a custom Document (the internal data representation for text components, the M-part of the MVC -- see javax.swing.text.Document) that doesn't accept any text beyond a given limit, e.g.:

Turning unit off and on

I am thinking of getting an airport express to replace my linksys router and was wondering if I turn the unit off at night as I usually do, does it reset to defualt setting when i turn it back on or will it come back up the same when powered up? Also, how does this unit compare in signal strength to a linksys. Similar?

The AirPort Express Base Station (AX) stores its current configuration in non-volatile memory so powering-off the unit does not delete its settings.
Also, how does this unit compare in signal strength to a linksys.
The AX supports the 802.11g standard and has an advertised effective radio range (in open space) of 50' @ 54 Mbps and 150' @ 11 Mbps. There are many Linksys models so a comparison would be difficult.

Unit off, wifi on?

Got my Touch fully charged up last night, then turned the unit off. Turned it on this morning and got a "low battery" warning -- it was almost totally drained. It's the second time it's happened in my one week of Touch ownership. (The first time I figured I must have imagined that it was fully charged.)
Yes: wifi was set to on, which I now understand is a big drain on the battery. But can the wifi capability drain the battery even when the unit itself is turned off?
Or do I just have a lemon?

Interesting. I had mine just lying flat on a table, so it's a different situation. I think I have to agree with Ian that it's probably a faulty unit and I'm going to have to exchange it. Grrrrrrr. I guess I'll try recharging it completely tonight, with wifi set to off, then turn the unit off and see if it happens again. If does NOT drain again, it would seem to suggest that the explanation for what happened last time is that wifi can suck battery even with power off.
Anyone know for sure whether such an unlikely sounding thing could be true? Ian, when you turned yours off for 3-4 days, did you have wifi set to on or off?

Illustrator won't run: "unable to set maximum number of files to be opened"

I have an intel macbook pro (core duo with 2GB ram) and a copy of purchased adobe creative suite 2. Other applications in the suite like photoshop, acrobat, etc can run on my mac without any problem. But when I try to run illustrator, it just shows an error message "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened" and quits. I also installed a trial version of illustrator cs3 and got the same problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Form fields have some restrictions if your are using version lower than 11g.
They can accommodate only 393 chars. You can add the text in both status bar and help key, which can in total consume 393 chars.
If your code logic is more than that, it can be split into multiple form fields as Avinash suggested or you can use sub template logic and handle coding over there. Again in sub template code can be within/outside form fields.
So there is no option for user to increase the size of form field.

Set back ground color to a particular cell in table view

hi,
 iam working on a jspDynpage and have a htmlb table view for which i need a way to set back ground color to a particular cell in table view, the color has to be set based on a value..is there a way to do it without using an iterator...well iam using a cellRenderer for the table but cant find a way to set the colors...if anyone does have a way please do reply...regards

You can mention the color in textview as well as Label as follows:

IView Deployment - how to set maximum file size?

we have a problem while deploying iViews and uploading files to enterprise portal . The maximum upload file size seems to be limited to 1 MB. I have to deploy an iView greater than 1 MB. While deploying with netweaver developer studio I get following error message

If I reduce file size of portal archiv lower than 1MB I can deploy and upload the iView.
How canI set maximum upload file size in Enterprise Portal?

We have set up a new Operating Unit in Oracle Apps. Now when I am trying to create a new Customer in that Operating Unit, I am receiving following error:
ERROR MESSAGE:-Please set the Receivables system options for this operating unit and ensure that the MO: Operating Unit profile option is correctly set with an operating unit that is set up in Receivables.
We do have MO: Operating Unit and MO: Default Operating Unit set properly at Responsibility level for the Responsibility through which I am accessing this form.

I don't think there is any limit on number of jobs that can be submitted to Oracle. However, there is a limit on the number of processes that would execute those jobs (governed by JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES).

Can I set maximum record time in Logic 8? Recording an hour-long live program unsupervised, & I'd like it to stop afterwards.
(I don't know any problem with continuing recording for hours until the hard drive is full? But it's not necessary.)

You can use the Auto-Punch In/Out function to set Logic stop recording automatically.
Also, set the bar value for the project end (at the transportbar, under the tempo).
For How long you can record depends on you HD capacity, but also the file format (aif,wav,caf...) the bit depth and the sample rate.
each format has its own limit.
Refer to user manual and check for the best file format for your purpose.

My unit will not turn on. was working turned unit off and it will not turn back on.
