Set "optimize for screen display" at runtime?

Hi,
is it possible to set the option "optimize for screen display" at runtime when using the CR2008/.NET 2.0 runtime?
Best regards,
Florian

Ok, I'm a bit smarter now. If I open the new pdf with reader 7 the graphics are in normal size at 100%. If I open the same pdf in Acrobat 9 pro everything is a bit to big with the "original size" setting, so the graphics are blured, because they get streched. It is a problem of displaying, the pdf seems to be ok, cause it looks good printed and good in Reader 7. But how can I know how the result will look at the users screen and why is the same file different in two reader versions?
and there is still the problem with the pattern / diffusion / noise whatever is the best word for it.

  • Optimize for Screen Display

    Hello Community,
I have written a manual for creating a design. It contains some screen shots and examples. If I convert it from MS Word .doc to pdf format, it still looks good printed, but on the screen all used graphics are blured and have patterns like gif files with low color palettes. If I set the acrobat reader to 87% the size is good. I think the used screen shots which originally are in .gif format are put into wrong size.
How can I tell the pdf maker to work with original pixel, to keep the pixels of an image 1:1 and ignore the cm / inch?

  • Setting values for non-displayed fields on a Tabular Form

I'm having a problem setting non-displayed fields on the same table as displayed fields like last_update_date, last_updated_by, id's and other fields when creating new records or updating existing records in a Tabular form.
What is the best and easiest way to set these values without using database triggers?

    Hi Jes,
I'm a little reluctant to use database triggers as I used this product a couple of years ago and I'm fairly sure I handled this problem in HTML DB without the use of triggers. I am therefore I'm getting a touch frustrated that I can't remember how to do it now !!
Do you know of any way of setting values for non-displayed fields on a Tabular Form without using database triggers?
Also, you seem to be suggesting that database triggers is the best way to do this?
    Thanks

  • Fixed Zoom increase for screen display?

Like IE has, I want to enter a fixed zoom amount for the entire firefox display, not just a one page at a time selection.
Higher resolution screens tend to make web page displays smaller and I'd like to increase Firefox for its entire display, say to 130%.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />

Or the NoSquint extension: <br />

  • Set password for database connection at runtime

    Hi there,
is it possible to set the password and/or the user for the database connection at runtime.
The use case is to read the values from a file and decrypt them, and the to establish the conenction. So that i don't habe to redeploy everything if there is a change.
    Thanks in advance.

How exactly do i set these values for the datasource?

    €: JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
The use case is, that there is a file with an encrypted password. This should be decrypted and then be used for the connection. So when this encrypted passowrd changes, i don't want to edit and deploay the app once again. Instead the new encrypted password should be decrypted via code an then be used.

  • Setting preferences for hyperlink display properties

I want all new hyperlinks created by InDesign and InCopy users at my site to have a certain set of properties. I want them to be sort of orange, with a thin dotted line around them. This is not so that they can be exported to pdf with buttons, but just so that we can preserve links in text for a print paper which is later going to be exported to the web, and I have a script that expands them into html at that point.
But I can't seem to find any preference that I can set that will allow me to set default display options for all hyperlinks newly created by users.  Hyperlinks used to show up automatically as black rectangles for us, and now they show up invisible. So because I have personally witnessed some change in the default behavior, I feel sure there must be a preference I can set somewhere. But it's possible that was just the switchover from standard behavior in CS4 to standard behavior in CS5.
    Any ideas?

Sorry but no. There are no viewing preferences for the iTunes Store.

  • Tints and CYMK - Whats the difference for screen display and print

    Hi,
What is the 'technical' difference between a tint and CYMK? For example, if i create a box with a fill of C:0 Y:0 M:0 K:40 is this the same as a black fill with 40% tint?
Knowing that all screens and printers give different results, is the difference even noticeable? What about 'best practice' / 'industry standard'?
Workflow/context- I create artwork (documents with combinations of images, graphics and text) in either Ai or ID which all go to PDF and I present them either on screen or through print (regular printer - none of my printed artwork use printing plates).
Thanks for your advice in advance.

A tint is just a lighter version of your swatch, so yes, 0,0,0,40 CMYK is exactly the same as using the [Black] swatch and setting the tint field in the panel down to 40% or creating a tint swatch with a 40% value.
Not all colors are CMYK. On screen you use RGB and most desktop printers expect RGB data as well. On press you might use spot color inks if you have only one color and tints of that color to add, or you need some color that can't be easily produced in CMYK in a full-color job. You probably shold not be using spot color in your work since you don't go to press and printer simulations of many spot colors are quite bad. You'll find the really saturated colors tend to be out of range for most printers, too, if you use RGB, but if you can accept that your printed output may not match the screen (and unless everything in the workflow is calibrated, including ALL the monitors you might be working with and all the printers you might use for output, output on remote devices probably won't match what you see on your own monitor and printer), I would design for the screen if that's the primary presentation and let those out-of-gamut colors geet clipped in print.
Printing tints is a little trickier than you might think. Dot gain (how ink spreads as it is absorbed into paper) tends to make tints seem a little darker in print.

  • INFOSET QUERY: Set condition for output display

    Dear Experts,
I have created a infoset query for display of Material inspection Characteristics using tables QPMK, QPMZ & QPMT.
now the user wants to display data only of those transaction no.'s starting with 'MC' or 'EQP' or 'WE' so on & so forth.
I do not know how to incorporate the same in the Infoset. I have tried putting the codes in DATA / START-OF-SELECTION / RECORD PROCESSING etc... but no use.
There is another option of filtering the transaction no,'s in Layout, but user does not want the same.
    so kindly guide me.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Jitesh

    Hi Jitesh,
Please follow the below stepas . (here pseudo code)
    In Data Section
    DATA: str1 TYPE string,
               str2 TYPE string,
               str3 TYPE string.
    str1 = 'MC*'.
    str2 = 'EQP*'.
    str3 = 'WE*'.
If you have more strings to compare ..declare those like that.
In 'Record processing Event' you need to use CHECK statement with CP operatoar of String
    CHECK table_name-transaction_field CP str1 OR  table_name-transaction_field CP str2 OR table_name-transaction_field CP str3.
    CHECK SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
    Genrtae the Infoset "Important step
Go to SQ01(in a new session) , and see if your getting required result.

  • ITS Source of Output for Screen Display?

    I have two sessions:
The first, has the cancel button (GIF) on the screen and the source code looke like this=>
    Z_W02_PROCESS_SCREEN&QS_PROCESS=CANCEL_ORDER&QS_ORDER_NUMBER=0000287690">
    <img src='/sap/its/mimes/Webrfc/sapicons/s_b_canb.gif'></a></td>
The second, does not have the cancel button (NO GIF) and the source code looks like this=> Z5_W02_PROCESS_SCREEN&QS_PROCESS=CANCEL_ORDER&QS_ORDER_NUMBER=0000288636">
    <font size=000></font></a></td>
One is a GIF, one is a font where is this config at? In SAP or ITS?
Someone suggested I look in SE80, Internet Service, WEBRFC. I do not see this in SE80?
               Thank-You.

    Hello Tom,
actually, it is hard to tell without further information. I suggest to have a look at the HTML document's source code (in the browser use the [Ctrl] + Right Click on the dynpro area; in the browser context menu select View Source ...). At the top of the source code you will find some information about the ITS used and also about the template used to generate this HTML document. This should be the template you want to have a look at. In case of subscreens used in the dynpro there might be some more comments like this in the document's source.
In some cases SAP icons will be used for buttons. In that case an appropriate GIF will be requested and shown automatically (those @n@ icons).
    Best regards,
      TJ

  • Setting my display size to "Best for Retina Display" creates a host of problems.

When I go into System Preferences>Displays>Set Best for Retina Displays, my typical web pages are scaled a bit too large to fit on the screen and I'm constanty having to scroll left/right to all the information. On top of that, if I click on a link, e.g., click on YouTube video, the resulting screen is shrunk to occupy only a small portion of the screen, and is much too small to read/view.  This is a new phenomenon and hasn't always been this way.  Any ideas?

Which os version are you using?
Does this happen in all browsers?
You are still under warranty.  Call Apple Care and get your monies worth before it runs out.

  • Should I Optimize for "Memory" or "Performance" in Preferences?

I've been rendering the timeline prior to export and finding that it renders in just over an hour for a 30 minute project. Then, almost miraculously, the MPEG2-DVD export only takes about two hours or so. This is with "Maximum Render Quality" selected in the Sequence Settings. When this option is selected, a pop-up warns that it is "highly recommended" to set "Optimize for Memory" in Preferences>General. I did this, and my timeline render increased exponentially (I estimate triple, since I stopped it after it ran for 1/2 an hour and it said there was still about two hours to go. So I am prefering the "Performance" setting for rendering the timeline.
But export may be a different matter. I'd rather not experiment with this if I don't have to, so I'm asking if anyone knows if the Preferences>General should be set to "Optimize for Memory" for export since that may be different than rendering the timeline for some important reasons.
This question is really about time and quality in the final MPEG2-DVD. Are either affected, one way or the other, by the various options for settings in both the timeline render and the export encode? In the past, I've always used Max Render Quality with Optimize set for Performance and never had any issues. This latest discovery of reducing my export time (maybe in the range of 80%+) by rendering the timeline first is tempting to continue since the final MPEG2-DVD quality appears identical to exporting without first rendering the timeline. I did do a test today exporting without rendering the timeline first (after deleting all the preview files) and that export took 4-1/4 hours, a net loss of about an hour.
    Thanks, everyone.
Update on statement in paragraph one. Since writing this, I exported after deleting the preview files and using Optimize for Memory in Preferences>General. Total export time was 4:15.

When it comes to exporting, what type of encoding you use greatly effects how much time it takes to render the file. For example i recently tried to export a 12 minute file. It takes me about 45 minutes in an AVI format but it takes over 8 hours in FLV format. (FLV is a poor example but none the less point can be made from this).
When it comes to optimizing for memory vs performance....It all depends on what you have available on your computer. If your memory is un the range of say 2-4 GB and you're using a windows 7 or vista OS, it's probably in your best interest to optimize for memory. This allows a machine with less memory to render much smoother than it would if it were trying to render based off of a performance based setting.
Sometimes what happens as a result of the performance setting is the program tries to render the video much quicker than what the memory your computer can allocate can tolerate. Try it out, it might help with some of the "skipping over frame" errors.
    Cheers,

  • Automatically Optimize For Battery lifespan

Yes another question on this but I can't find an answer.
When you click the help section on my Lenovo X220 it states the following:  "Battery Health Mode immediately discharge your battery to 50% and set to stop charging at 50% and start charging at 46%."
My computer most definitely does not do this.  In fact when I set Optimize for Battery lifespan and restart the computer my battery gauge will go from reading 98% (pre-restart) to 100% (post restart).  If I set custom thresholds my battery gauge will suddenly read 98% again.  Finally, when set on "optimize for battery lifespan" the remaining capacity on my battery is 61.68 wH and the maximum capacity is 56.87.  What gives?
Why is my battery not "immediately" discharging to 50% as specified in the help?
What is with my gauge jumping between 98% and 100%?
Why is my battery's remaining capacity greater than the maximum capacity (I have had the computer for only 1 month and it is always plugged in)?
    Weird

    hey imbcms1
try doing a battery gauge reset. then use your unit as usual (without AC adapter) and let it discharged normally.
once discharge, charge it fully and do not use the unit while its charging.
uninstall and reinstall the power manager. Currently the latest version of power manager is at 3.62 (win 7) / 1.99j (win xp)

My macbook pro's screen display has suddenly gone into a strange colour setting where everything appears in a kind of infrared colour palette an I can;t seem to change it back.  It's the same for all icon and websites, does anyone know how to restore?

Wow!  I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside.  Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly.  It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle.  Of course I took no pictures!!!  I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress...  The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect.  After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though.  There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top.  After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen.  I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background.  After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle.  After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange.  But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

  • Quick way to change "Optimize for" setting when "mirror displays" is on?

Is there a quick way to change "Optimize for" setting when "mirror displays" is on?
I have two displays on my Mac Mini for totally different areas; I can't see the first monitor when I'm on the second. One is 1280x1024, one is 1920x1200. As I switch fairly often I'm wondering if there is a built-in or 3rd-party-utility way to quickly toggle the "optimize for" setting that is under "System Preferences" -> "Displays" -> "Display" tab -> "Optimize for:" dropdown box.
As Apple sadly doesn't make a all-in-one keyboard / mouse - need one as one of the monitors is used for just a very comfy chair, so keyboard is on my lap - I'm using an Lenovo ThinkPad USB Travel Keyboard, model SK-8855, and some key cobinations, esp. with function keys, seem not to work on it. So something from the desktop context menu or that allows you to set the hotkey would be preferable.
    Thanks for any help,
    -DJBC

I'm thinking that, Display Menu from the Mac App Store will help.
