Set up activities in PPM

Hi all
I have th e following recipe:
operation 10
phase 20: set up phase
phase 30: prod phase
When transferring to apo the production version, it is created in APO the PPM.
Everything is ok, but when I enter to modifiy something in the PPM and try to activate it, I get the error message in APO:
operation 20 only contains set up activity.
And I can't activate the PPM.
Thanks

Hi,
We also faced a similar issue, but with PDS. The cause is you can not have only setup operation in your routing, becuase as per the new logic developed by SAP in APO after SCM 4.1, the setup should be followed by a produce activity. They call it as processor based logic. Whatever I had read and understood, while rescheduling it takes the produce activitiy as the reference and tries to schedule the setup activity.
In our scenario, we also had 2 operations, one with only setup and other with only produce. The way we created a workaround is on the Work Center. I beleive you also must have assigned different resource to each phase (20 & 30) in your routing. What we did is we add processing time formula in the scheduling tab of the resource which has only setup activity. And we ensured that this processing time formula is a constant for 1 second in order not to disturb the scheduling.
I'm not sure whether it works for you. But let me know if you got anyother solution on this issue.
Thanks,
Rajesh Manoharan

  • Set up activities with PP-PI

    Hi all
    I'm trying to transfer recipes from ECC to APO, but I have a problem when creating set up activities. In APO they are not being created. I belive is that in the resource there is no formula to calcule the set up time. And there is no place for more formulas.
    How can I create set up activities in APO when transferring the recipes??
    thanks so much

    Dear Fernando,
    In Resource master we can define a maximum of 6 Standard value parameter. Also we can add multiple capacity categories. You can define formulas for using these parametersfor each capacity category.
    The values for the Standard value parameters can be entered in Master recipe. If the particular Operation/Activity is relevant for scheduling the operations are transferred to APO as PPM or PDS.
    Hope this helps.

  • Handling of 'set up' activites in routings/recipes and PDSs

    I am transferring ECC routings via CIF as SNP PDSs.
    But I would like to ignore set up activities.
    Is there a recommended way of doing this?

  • How to skip exection of a set of activities at runtime in a BPEL Process.

    Hi All,
    Please suggest me how the following scenario can be achieved.
    I have a BPEL process with 3 scopes, in each scope i have an invoke activity to call an async process.
    Currently the control is in scope-1 ,Once the execution of scope-1 is done i want to skip execution of scope-2 and want to execute scope-3.
    How can i achieve it at runtime....
    Thx,
    Siddhardha.

    I think that once the instance has started, there is no way to manually mark a scope as "skip" or something. You will need to code a switch in your process when scope2 needs to be executed and when not. You could base the condition on a preference (descriptor property), but those values apply to all instances, not just a single instance

    Hi,
    The problem you are referring above is definitely due to the java embedding you are using.
    This seems to be a simple Hello World example, and if you are looking for the same to work, you can simply use an assign activity to concat the input with the Hello world.
    If you are trying to use a java embedding activity which has some custom java coding in it, please refer to the following:
    Make sure all the dependent classes are explicitly mentioned with their packagename.ClassName.
    Also , make sure you make all the classes as jar and include it in sca-inf\lib directory of the code.
    a) See that your external / dependent Java applications dependent Jar files are copied in csa-inf/lib (e.g all jars like log4j, apache jars, wickets jar etc etc etc )
    b) also make sure u deploy the dependent java application as JAR using jdeveloper deploy wizard.... for example archive1.jar and then copy this jar as well in sca - inf / lib folder
    it will work ....
    Thanks,
    Deepak.

  • FTP Adapter setting filename at runtime not working

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue SOA 11.1.1.5 with FTP Adapter setting the filename at runtime. I have a process that reads a file from local server and puts it over to a remote FTP Server.
    I want to use the same filename that is picked up locally and placed on the ftp location. Below is the snippet of FTP Invoke and the filename is read from a variable which is set before the invoke
    <invoke name="Invoke_PutFile"
    inputVariable="Invoke_PutFile_PutFile_InputVariable"
    partnerLink="PutFile" portType="ns2:PutFile_ptt"
    operation="PutFile" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.TargetFileName" variable="targetFileName"/>

    <property name="TargetFileName" value="setAtRunTime"/>
    <property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
    </interaction-spec>
    </endpoint-interaction>
    But when I test I am getting an error, it's complaining Cannot set JCA WSDL Property. Error while setting JCA WSDL Property. Property setTargetFileName is not defined for oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPInteractionSpec Please verify the spelling of the property. ".

    Any idea what I am doing wrong.

    There are so many limitations on what can and cannot be done in Apps related forms so you should ask this question in the relevant Apps forum: OA Framework (I would think)

  • Viewing Instance Variable Information for Automatic activities

    Hi,
    I have a process which is made up of all automatic activities that each do a specific set of activities and populate a few instance variables. I want to create a view so that a user can see the state and value contained in each of the instance variable at any time during the execution of the process. A example of what i want to achive in the view is shown below.. any advice on how to design such a feature
    InstVar_1 InstVar_2 InstVar_3
    1 2 3
    4 5 6
    Thanks.

    Are you the one who commented out the code you're looking for ?//String desc = StringFactory.getString(attributes.getValue("desc"));You just have to modify you AttributeObject class to hold a new field : String description. And then, it's up to you to create a new constructor or a new setter method.
    Btw, this is not a Swing related question.

  • Questionnaire in Business Activities

    Hello Experts
    i have a question about displaying Questionnaires in the "Questionnaires" assignment block on a Business Activity.
    can you please tell me if i miss some key information? here under the steps i've followed
    1) I've Created a Transaction Type Z001 with Business Transaction Category : Business Activity
    2) I've created and activated a survey on IMG Path :
    SPRO - Customer Relationship Management - Transaction - Setting for Activities - Questionnaires - Define Questionnaires
    3) I've assigned the Questionnaire to my Business activity for a valid period on IMG Path :
    SPRO - Customer Relationship Management - Transaction - Setting for Activities - Questionnaires - Define Determination for Questionnaires : Business Activity
    i've specified here the validity period, Transaction Type, and Active. i Left blank Item Category and Criteria Set
    i just need a very basic configuration without any profile or filter implemented.
    Following these steps i've managed to display questionnaires on my test environment, while on the Client environment, the very same steps are not effective.
    my goal is to see Questionnaires on the Business Activities right after the creation of the Business Transaction, even before assigning the Account (it works in this way on my test enviroment)
    can you please help me if i missed some steps?
    thanks in advance
    Enrico

    Hello MB,
    I don't think that you will be able to do this only with customizing.
    You can put a text in read only via customizing but to fill this text with another text, you will have to make some coding.
    You can for example use transaction CRMV_EVENT to create your own after_change event for the texts.
    In the Z FM attached to this event, you can implement the append of the lines from text 1 to text 2.

    Frédéric

  • Exception setting SOAP address to $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$:

    Am trying to call the Credit Rating Service using the 10.1.2 version of BPEL engine using the JDeveloper Designer. Have no problems calling the Credit Rating Service through the console tester but when my BPEL process called SynchBPELProcess2 calls the credit rating service I get the following error:
    Your test request generated the following exception/fault:
    com.oracle.bpel.client.BPELFault: faultName: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}bindingFault}
    messageType: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}RuntimeFaultMessage}
    parts: {{summary=exception setting SOAP address to $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$: no protocol: $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$; nested exception is:
         java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: $CHANGE-WHEN-DEPLOY$}}
    Is there some additional configuration that needs to be done to get around this or am I missing a step somewhere. Ran into this while going step by step with the Order booking tutorial and so decided to try with a separate project.

    Lasts monday I downloaded a version (10.1.2 release, not preview/beta 3) which has the same filename and file size of the 10.1.2 GA release which is available right now.
    I don't think the problem is in the PM, because i can run bpelc/obant to build my processes. however when i build them with the Eclipse plugin, it won't change the location of the wsdl (keep saying $CHANGE_WHEN_DEPLOY$).

  • Pre determination of activities to be executed

    Hi,
    Is there any way to find the possible path an instance will take depending upon the values of certain variables. To be more clear, consider when an instance is created 3 values a,b,c are passed (assigned). depending upon these values , instance will take different route. or in other words, the activities executed will vary depending upon these values. My req is to pre determine the set of activities which will be executed( without any hard coding).
    Please provide valuable opinions on this.
    Thanks,
    Sana

    You could use PAPIs to route the instance to the desired activity, always if the instance itself is not on a mandatory interactive task. If so you can choose dynamically your path.
    I'm sorry I've no example for this, but as far as I know it should be possible in this way.
    Another mode could be the usage of business rules and business rule transitions but you'll be probably forced to define all of your possible paths. Once the process has been defined you can easily know which will be the path starting from the rules.

  • Lookup Data For Each Record of Result Set

    I'm trying to determine if the following task is possible in BPEL and how to implement it.
    Assume I have two DB Adapters returning data from two different databases.
    The first excepts no inputs returns 5 records in a collection looking somewhat like the following.
    Order ID, Item ID
    1, 2
    2, 1
    3, 1
    4, 2
    5, 3
    The second accepts an Item ID as input and returns the description for that item.
    I would like the output of the BPEL Process to look like this.
    Order ID, Item ID, Item Desc
    1, 2, Computer
    2, 1, Desk
    3, 1, Desk
    4, 2, Computer
    5, 3, Lamp
    I'm new to BPEL and I'm assuming this will involve invoking the first db adapter link and then iterator through the result set calling the second db adapter link for each record but I'm not sure where to start. I'm hoping someone can give me a simple example that I can play with. I've looked at How to iterate through multiple records read from a file adapter? and How to pass a single element in an array to XSL from BPEL but I'm getting lost.
    Thanks

    I just got it working in the BPEL for-each loop by creating a variable of type Order which I then assigned the results from that loop and then appended them to my output variable. I'd be interested in seeing how I could do that within a transformation if its quicker. How do I append in a transformation so that I can add the row after each loop.
    Here is the BPEL so far.
    I will note that I think just fetching a complete copy of both data sources and merging wouldn't be ideal as my items table could contain a million records or more and I'm only wanting to fetch the ones I'm interested in.
    Thanks

  • SAP REx 3.2 Predefined list of activities for visit type while creating visit on iPad

    Colleagues, our customer wants to have a different predefined list of activities for different visit types while creating a visit on iPad. I have seen such functionality in SAP Demo for REx 3.2 on iPad. Could you tell me what I should do to have such functionality?

    Hello Viktor,
    There are no REx customisation available to mainatin the set of activities that can be assigned to a visit.
    In the REx iPAD & iPhone solution, all the surveys, journals and activities are shown together as activities.
    For example in the first screenshot provided by you, for the newly created visit the activities shown plannogram check, trade assets, store sales performance and promotion compliance are the surveys and journals assigned to the CRM transaction type of the REx visit Business Review. We can assign activities which are customised in the SPRO path mentioned by me in the previous post. In the device when we go to the details of the visits and activities then we can see that the surveys and journals assigned to these activities are grouped seperatly.
    So if want only specific activities (in iPAD & iPhone surveys and journals are activities) to be available for a visit then we should set the CRM customisation for surveys and journals accordingly.

  • SNP PPM need to be created

    Hi
    I want to create a only SNP PPM when a Routing is CIFed from R3. currently, we are getting the PPDS PPM.
    pl let me know, where will be the setting to create SNP PPM directly in APO.
    Thanks
    JK

    Hi JK :
    SNP PPM can not be generated from R/3 directly .
    It can be manually created in APO through transaction SCC03 .
    Also if you dont want to create it manually then you can do through this , when you CIF  BOM & routing , A PPDS ppm gets created in APO .
    This can be converted into SNP PPM , It is also possible to convert for the whole plant in one go or can select certain products for a plant.
    SNP PPM is generated in APO based upon existing PPDS PPM .  So, every time an R/3 recipe or BOM is changed, the PPDS plan will automatically be updated.  However the equivalent SNP plan must be regenerated manually to account for the R/3 changes.
    there are two steps :
    selection of the required plans via /n//SAPAPO/OO_PPM_CONV
    & conversion of those selection plans /n/SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_310.
