Set up alias email address

How do you set up alias email address in Muse?

Hi Maura79,
It's not possible to set up email accounts or aliases from within Muse. You will need to do this through the Business Catalyst admin console.
However, note that the webHosting plan does not include email. You will need to upgrade to webBasics+ which you can do from within the admin console > Site Settings > Site Management. Once upgraded, navigate to Site Settings > Email Accounts in order to add your email accounts and aliases.
Thanks,
Matt.

  • Reuse an alias email address for a new icloud account?

In my family we are using an "Family" apply id as a shared family account along with my account and my wife's account.  We were using the family account to share icloud content between my wife and I and our family iPad.  Under the family apple ID I had also created two alias email address (lets call then child1.me.com and child2.me.com) which I had done a long time ago to "reserve" my preferred emails addresses for when the kids were ready to have one.  Apple has changed things a bit since before IOS8 and I have begun to disentangle the family account as a shared iCloud between my wife and I and we are now running our own iClouds, though our iPad still runs using the family account.
My daughter is 11 and recently inherited an old iPhone. I had recently created her an apple ID by faking her age and using her gmail account (as Apple would not allow under 13yr olds to have an account).  One thing I discovered is that she cannot access [email protected] account that is an alias of the family account so I started to dig into this deeper.  Now that Apple has family sharing I thought I would delete the alias child1 and child2 accounts and set these up as proper apple IDs (as apple now allows this for kids under 13) with Family sharing.
I deleted my alias email addresses and tried to create the same as new icloud accounts (as apple does not allow the use of .me anymore) i.e. [email protected] and [email protected].  This is not working however.  Apple is telling me that the accounts are already in use.  My understanding is that .me and .icloud are interchangeable so my child1.me.com email alias should have prevented someone else from taking child1.icloud.com; correct?  So it would seem that I am blocking my own icloud account creation even though I have now deleted those aliases.
Does anyone know when a deleted alias will become available for use as an icloud account?  Also is there any better ways to achieve family email/icloud harmony as right now I am finding it a bit of a mess....
    Thx.

Do I found that even though I deleted my aliases I was able to add them back in ti my family account even though Apple states that you can. I could not add them as .me accounts though, they had to be .icloud but I was able to maintain the child1 and child2 components.  I ended up deleting them again and just setting up entirely new icloud accounts.

  • Using an alias email address in Mail for iPhone

My iPhone 4S shows no interest in using my alias email address as the default choice for sending and receiving email, even though I"ve changed the settings in iCloud. Mail persists in using my Apple ID as the default sending email address. It's a minor nuisance as my name shows up either way, but I'd like the correct email address to show. Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks.

You would think that would fix it, but it doesn't. I've set my default sending email address as the one I want to [email protected], but despite iCloud showing this as my chosen setting, emails continue to go out with my AppleID as the sending email address. I think this problem is like the case of Facetime, where people can't activate Facetime with anything but their AppleID. It's just something we'll have to wait for Apple to fix.

  • Default iCloud vs alias email address from 3GS

Can someone please tell me if there is a way of setting one of my iCloud alias email addresses as the default address for sending email from my iPhone 3GS? At present I have iCloud set up and it sends mail from the 'main' address ([email protected]) unless I click on the address in the header, in which case it throws up the option to select which account I wish to send from ([email protected]).
I have made the alias in question the default account at the iCloud webpage but the setting does not seem to carry over to the phone.
    Thanks for any help. Cheers,

I am having same frustration. Thus far, setting an alias as the default email address to send from is not supported. I've gone to the suggestions page for apple a few times to plead for all .mac/MobileMe/iCloud members that have stuck with the service through the years. I suggest all iCloud members with elmail alias and iPhone issue go to the suggestions page so they will include it in an update.
For now, I have set my alias up as a imap account using most same setting on MobileMe account. Same outgoing an incoming servers. It works ok actually. Occastionally says user name and password are incorrect and I have lost the push feature since I turned off iCloud mail to avoid duplicates.
If there is another solution I would love to know.

  • Help with email filters for an "alias email address"... Please!!

    Hello All...
This is my first post to the BB Community! I've always been able to find the help I needed without needing to post!!!
But now I have a problem that I could not find the answer to, and I am hoping that someone will be able to guide me.
    Here's the situation:
I have an email address for my business ([email protected]) set up on my Tour. It is a standard POP account.
I do work for a client, who has given me an alias email address ([email protected]) that forwards to the above address.
I want to continue to have th emails come to my Outlook account on my PC (or I can check it through webmail if needed), but I do not want these emails to come through my Blackberry.
I am thinking that I need to set up a filter of some sort to keep these specific emails from clogging up my Blackberry.
I tried setting up a filter which I called Client.
In the filter from line, I added [email protected])
And in the Action settings, I checked the button for "Do not forward message to the device"
I then sent an email to [email protected] I would think that it would not get through, but I got the email anyway.
I figure that I must be doing something wrong. Of course, there is always the remote possibility that what I am trying to do is NOT possible!
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank you,
    Bonni

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Community Support Forums.
OK, I understand your overall need.
IF your "[email protected]" address forward automatically to "[email protected]", then you have to understand a filter set in the BlackBerry BIS email setup does NOT see the email as coming from the @client.com address. So it will not filter it.
What I suggest is this... forget about the filters and such. Go create yourself some new gmail account for the "[email protected]" to forward to. It will be much simpler.  Much much.

  • Multiple alias email addresses in mail, only receiving mail from one

I have set up additional alias addresses for my virgin.net account and added these to the email address field in mail preferences separated by comma's, but only the mail from the original one comes in although I can access the mail of the additional ones on their webmail and send email from them from mail. Anyhing else I needed to do?

    Yes.
If each email address has a different password, then this also indicates each email address has it's own user name to check the incoming mail server for new mail. The user name for an email account is usually the portion of the email address in front of the @ sign only but for some ISPs and email account providers, it is the entire email address.
The user name for each email address is the key.
If each email address has its own user name and password, then you must create each email address as a separate account in Mail.
You can create separate accounts in Mail that use the same incoming mail server and each can have the same password as long as each account has a different user name.
When creating an email account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account. The mailboxes accociated with the account such as the account's Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk (when Junk Mail is set to automatic) mailboxes are located within the account named folder.
This is why you cannot create separate accounts in mail that utilize the same user name and incoming mail server.
An "alias" email address to the primary account/email address uses the same user name, password and incoming mail server as the primary account/email address. If so, the only way to add an alias email address to the Mail.app for access is by adding the alias email address to the email address field separated by a comma under the Account Information tab for the primary account preferences.

  • Can I use an alias email address for FaceTime?

I have set up facetime with my main apple id on my new ipad but wish to use one of my alias email addresses.  When I try and add it, the application says,
    "FaceTime Activation
An error occurred while verifying your email"
Any ideas on how to make an alias work on facetime?
    thx

    Hi oxshott,
I have the same issue. I do not want to give out my account name, but only one of the aliase to friends and others. That's the reason for using aliases: to keep the main account hidden.
I went into the AppleID website, only to find out that this is not possible. It's only there where you get an informative answer. Therefore it seems that what we both want to do - protect our accounts - is not intended by Apple.
I personally cannot understand why Apple wants us to log into Facetime using an actual AppleID. There's no need for it and should be only a small change for Apple.

  • ICloud alias email address not receiving mail

MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5,  Firefox 21.0, software current.
When I send an email from my Optonline email account within Mac Mail to an iCloud (recently set up) alias email account, it is not received at the online iCloud site. If I send an email to my primary Mac address, it shows up fine at iCloud email.
When I go to the iCloud site, I can send outgoing emails from all addresses which are received OK back at my MacBook Pro.
Using Safari does not change things.
Why are the emails to the alias address not showing up at iCloud.
Any ideas? Is there some set-up I need to toggle on, on another device (iPhone 4S and iPad Mini)?
    Thanks,
    Robby

OK I think I have this figured out here. Looks like a case of operator error on this end in the beginning. Sorry for all the detail below, but if it helps anyone I hope it is worth it.
    1. Per suggestion of Carolyn Samit elsewhere, I went into Apple>System Preferences>Internet and Wireless>iCloud and deselected Mail and Notes. I then repeated the above, but toggled the Mail and Notes back on.
    2. I sent another test message to my iCloud alias address, per the routine set out in the first post above, with a BCC back to me, which immediately appeared in the MacBook Pro Mail Inbox.
    3. I left the Sent message in the Sent folder, and the BCC in the Inbox.
    4. I then signed into iCloud and opened Mail.
    5. Lo and Behold, my test message was in both the Sent folder and the Inbox in iCloud Mail.
Lesson to be learned from the different process I had used earlier -- iCloud mimics exactly what I had previously done on my MacBook Pro (which was not detailed above because it did not seem important at the time). Previously, after sending a test email, I immediately moved the Sent message into a special folder on the MacBook Pro, and also immediately moved the BCC copy in the Inbox into the same special folder in Mac Mail.
iCloud mimic'd these moves, so when I went there in the early stages of this  process (after having already moved two emails into special folders on the laptop), there were no emails to be seen at iCloud.
This last time just now, I left the emails in my Inbox and Sent folders at the laptop, and they WERE in the corresponding folders at iCloud.
Now, to toggle off Mail and Notes in Apple System Preferences and see what happens?
    Good night . .

  • Notifications for my iCloud alias email address

I have set up an alias email address to deal with my business admin emails but I keep missing information as there doesn't seem to be a way of having notifications pop up for that alias.
My main email and added accounts (sky, hotmail) notifications work just fine but not my alias. I can't seem to find any separate settings for the alias email!,
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • How do I set up two email address on the same account?

Using Mail in Mac OS X 10.6.2 and moving to Mac for the first time, I have been unable to set up two email addresses on the same account. Entering them, separated by commas, as advised in the Help does not seem to work. I have tried making them both the same password and have tried separating the passwords with a comma but no luck. Unable to set up another account for the second address because it correctly tells me that the account already exists.
    Is there a way?
    Thanks for any help.
    AllanGlen

After a comprehensive trial and error session, using a new Guest Account each time to be sure of no contamination from the previous trial, I have finally cracked it!
The problem was logging on to the outgoing server.
Setting up the first account was fairly straightforward but if I allow Mail to do it automatically I am unable to send because Mail has defaulted to 'Authentication Required' when my server does not require it. Setting the account manually without authentication enables send and receive to work OK.
If i try to set up the second account automatically, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'No Authentication', Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the full email address as the User Name together with password, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address together with password, Mail crashes.
However, if I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address as User Name and no password, Mail accepts it and sets up the account.
At this point the account receives mail but cannot send it.
If I go into the Mail preferences and try to edit the outgoing server details, Mail will not accept no Authentication.
I eventually found that if I uncheck the 'Always Use This Server' box, all account then use the server on the first account, which is correctly set up.
Now I have my four email accounts all able send and receive.
One little concern remains. In Outlook Express I could look at the properties of a received email and see what address it had come from, together with many other details. I haven't found out yet whether this can be done in Mail. I just wonder whether if I reply to some email, it will appear to have come from a different address from the one it was sent to.
Thanks again for all the inputs.
    Allan

  • HT5312 How to set a rescue email address when I already have an Apple ID and I forgot my security questions

How to set a rescue email address when I already have an Apple ID. Actually I forgot my security questions.

You won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

I cant remember my apple id sequrity questions and i didnt set a rescue email address. What can i do??

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
