Set up LAMP server, but not viewable from outside.
I set up a LAMP server, followed the guide http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP there. I can view it from localhost or the IP address or the web address http://plaufcan.homeunix.org. But it is not viewable outside of my local network. What else do I have to do?
If your router is showing an external IP address of 192.x.x.x, I am guessing that you are on a DSL line, and that you more than likely used the windows setup software to configure your internet connection.
Basically, when you run the software, many of the modems go into a very dumb router configuration. Your router is picking up a natted ip address from the modem, and using that to update dyndns.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that you can open your browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 (or alternatively http://192.168.2.254) and you'll get access to the modem. You'll have to find the page that allows it to be set to a bridge. After that, you'll have to set the router up to do any authentication that your ISP requires.
One of the large ISP's in Canada use modems like this for their DSL, and it causes no end of problem when SOHO users add another router. NATted NAT connections do not always play nice.

Remote Server Admin not working from outside of network for 1 server
Our company recently changed ISPs and I had to change our two 10.4 server's IP addresses. We have a mail server (intel xserve) and a file/web server (quicksilver g4). Both servers have two network cards in them. The problem is two-fold:
1- I can successfully manage the Xserve machine locally on our network and from my home. However, I can only manage the Quicksilver g4 server locally. Any kind of external access is not even acknowledged.
2- I'm not sure if I missed any steps when changing IP addresses for these server-based computers. Also, I'm not sure if I correctly set our dns names to the correct IP address.
For some background, this is the exact IP update process I used for each server:
Quicksilver G4 (file/web server) - Installed network card #2 and configured it with the new Public IP in the "System Preferences/Network" panel. In Server Admin I set our website to use the new public IP address. (network card #2 has no firewall device in between it and the internet.)
Then, I configured the default network card #1 to a static, yet private IP address that's behind our DLink firewall device with the rest of our network.
Intel Xserve (e-mail server) - Network card #1 was the only one setup before our network change. It had a static, public IP address. When we changed ISPs, I configured network card #2 to the new static, public IP address supplied to us by the new ISP in the "System Preferences/Network" panel. This new IP address is where all email traffic currently gets pointed to. (All mail is successfully sent and delivered.) Until our former ISP gets shutdown, I still have network card #1 configured to the older static public IP address. After the old ISP is shut off, I plan on changing network card #1 to a static, private address.

I am talking about RDP over the internet, like from home to the office. We have a static IP assigned to the router from ISP. A static internal IP assigned to the server on the LAN. And the router port forwards 3389 to the assigned IP.
It was working fine before we reinstalled Server 2012. These are the steps I took when reinstalling:
1. format drive and install OS
2. rename the server
3. install SQL server
4. Install TFS and SharePoint
5. Add Active Directory role and promote to Domain Controller
6. Add domain users
7. Enable remote access on the server and add users to remote access list -
Verizon mail deleted from server is not deleted from IPAD2 but works fine on Android
I have both an Android phone and an IPAD. This Android (RAZR) and my previous one (Droid2) worked fine. Mail deleted from the server is also deleted from the phone. Deleted from phone would delete from server. Worked great. On IPAD, when setting up the Verizon mail account, it defaults to POP and I can set it to delete from server when removed from IPAD. However, mail deleted from the server is not deleted from the IPAD and so I have to remove it manually (a second time). Why does it work on Android and not on IPAD? Settings on Android appear to also be for POP. Can anyone help with this? It's too hard to believe that with so many people using IPADs, that this is such a problem. I've read that Verizon isn't supporting IMAP, but how in the world is the Android phone working?
MrBigHandsAny mail service POP downloads a copy of the message to the phone. It would then need to be deleted from the device itself. What you are referring to where its deleted in both places is an IMAP type email service.

I set up my iCloud account on iPad with an exchange account and aol account. I can see exchange and aol emails but not those from .me account or apple email. I got it to show all 3 accounts on my iPhone with no problem. Hat am I missing?
I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
Any suggestions? -
Using Azul media player app on my ipad Apple tv will only display sound but not video from movies. Any ideas on a fix. I set mirroring to on but it still does not display video. It will display photos and video recorded from my iphone.
Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay -
What can I do when web pages with scripting display ok from a server but not locally?
I have html and java script in the same folder path, both on a server and locally. The pages display correctly when accessed from the server, but not when accessed locally. Is there a change I can make to Firefox to solve this problem?
An address starting with c: wouldn't be any kind of domain name. C: is the drive lettering system DOS and and later uses. By default, A: and B: are reserved for your first and second floppy disk drive. All hard drives are then named C: through Z:, if you have that many. C: is normally your startup disk.
Anyway, their PDF file is incorrectly linked to a file directly on the C: drive of someone's computer. It's not going to work no matter what you do. -

There are some differences between Remote PowerShell and Exchange Management Shell. You cannot use the pipeline when you run some cmdlets by using Remote PowerShell.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Task fails on server but not on my development PC

I have this annoying error on my server but not in my PC,
When I run the task from VisualStudio2010 it works perfectly. Then I deploy the package to my SqlServer2012 "Intgegration Services Catalogs" and run the deployed package from the SqlManagementConsole I got the error.
The source is an oracle DB and the query wich calculate the field "MONJTO_HRSEXTR" do it with this "sum(nvl(h.monto,0)) monto_hrsext" on the select statement.
I guess the problem is SSIS thinks that the column MONTO_HRSEXTR is "Unicode string[DT_WSTR]" with "lenght=38" and when the conversion process try to cast to Decimal(12,2) it fails. There are 2 big questions here
1.Why it works on my development PC and not in the server when deployed?
2.why the "Data Conversion Transtormation Editor" thinks the field is a Unicode string[DT_WSTR] if that field is a sum result from numerics fields in the oracle table

I have prepared a web service from a FM.
I can't test it from the WSADMIN since this system is not integrated to a J2EE server. So I get the error message "Setting for J2EE server do not exist"
I am able to generate the WSDL file from Tcode WSADMIN
How can I test this web service from a browser with a J2EE server? If browser not possible then how can I test this web service.

I am not sure if you can test the web services without a J2EE server. For
testing in wsadmin, you do not need the system to be integrated with a J2EE server. Only the details of any J2EE server in the landscape can be given in
wsadmin -> Goto -> Administration Settings .

I see what you mean....Premiere Elements 10 appears to be the last version that had options for the user to select Capture Video and/or Audio in the its Capture Window.
If you are doing DV data capture firewire into the Premiere Elements 11 Capture Windows and want a final file without audio and you cannot do this at the camera level, then consider....
1. Do the Capture "to the Timeline" - video linked to audio result on the project's Video Track 1
a. Right click the Timeline DV AVl and select Delete Audio and then edit accordingly.
or
b. Import the DV AVI but, when you go to export it, in the export settings, remove the check mark next to Audio so that the export contains only the video portion.
Publish+Share/Computer/AVI with Presets = DV NTSC Standard
Please let us know if any of that worked for you.

Here we have a scenario that is, a customer upgraded from CUCM4.2 and IPCC4 to CUCM7.0 and CCX7.0, in the old deployment, he used codec G.729 on IPCC and for sure for the voice prompts, and it used to work fine, now, after the upgrade, and using the same script, prompts and choosing G.729 to run on CCX, we are only able to listen to prompts and go into the AA menu options internally, but when calling from outside, nothing, it keeps ringing.
I changed the codec back to G.711 from CCX’s service parameter, and called from outside, the CCX opens the script yes, but not playing any prompts…
Although the gateway used to work with IPCC normally, I had configured codec G.729 and ran it under a special dial-peer dedicated for CCX trigger DN, still nothing changed..
Any guides please.
ATDoes not matter if you are using MGCP or H323 the same rule applies for xcoding needs. The bigger question is what has changed as part of the upgrade as there should be no changes from operations point of view.
I would suggest checking if there are media resources such as Xcoder that for some reason did not register after the upgrade. Also, is the site with the GW experiencing the issues remote from the UCCX server? If you want to use G729 for calls into the GW simple change the region assigned to the GW's DP to use G729 between itself and the UCCX cti ports.

FEP clients update defintitions from SCCM server, but not timely
Our FEP clients are configured to download definition updates from WSUS. They seem to be doing this, but not as frequently as they should; the policy is set to check for updates every 7 hours, but they do not usually download updates until definitions
are a week or more out of date.
This seems to be true even if we try to force an update by clicking the
Update button on the FEP client. For example, my client right now shows "Definitions created on" 2/13/2012, but "Definitions last checked:" shows a 2/15/2012 timestamp (I clicked the button a few minutes ago).
While the definitions on my workstation are two days out of date, other computers on the network have today's definitions, so it looks like the definitions on the SCCM server are up to date.
What's going on here?hi

I had a server run out of disk space today. Digging in, the ccm mp_statusreceiver directory had 650,000 files in it, over 50GB in size. From what I understand, I think that folder is queuing up messages to go from a management point to the primary
server, but the server in question had it's management point removed a couple of weeks ago. It seems like it's still gathering data to send, but not sending it to the primary server, and filling up the drive.
If that's the case, then it seems the management point didn't actually get removed from the server, even though it's no longer listed in the config manager console as a management point. (The server still has a DP on it.)
How can I clean up whatever remnants of the MP are installed on this server?Hi,
Yes, you need a path for mp.msi. I saw that is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\bin\X64.
