Set value of zzidarea from another context node

Hi is it possible to set the value of the zzidarea field of the context node header from the method get_employeename of the context node employeename?

Hi,
Your question should be framed better. I suppose that you are trying to set the value of a header attribute from one of the child relations. Assuming that the relations are buffered, it is possible to reach the header entity by using the get_parent or get_root and using relations again. However it is not a good practice trying to set values in a getter method. You should find another proper approach to your problem.

I am creating a program and have the following problem: I Have three view Objects say like: A, B and C. A is the master class and has a view link to B an C. But now I am facing the following problem. When I create a new A and then B, in B a value is automatically retrieved from A (something like a before insert trigger but then programmatically from the (specific) entity object). (There isn't a commit yet!) Then when I create a new C. I want to show the value that was calculated in B shown in C. But there can be multiples rows in B so I want only the value from B from the row that is currently selected.
Has anybody an idea/solution to solve this?

I have a some like problem in adf bc.
Let me explain you what I want to do.
I have two tables. Message and MessageProperties. Message table is connected with itself as same as Employee table of HR. Means a Message can have various child message. MessageProperties contains the message properties. A message can have various properties. I want to show the message only if it has a particular value in MessageProperties,then its properties,its child message. If its child message have the same value in MessageProperties,then it shows that. Likewise it should give me a tree structure with its all properties
Let me explain you step by step what I have done for this.
1> I have created a view MessageView with two entities i.e Message and MessageProp and include the value attribute of MessageProp in it.
2> I have created the default MessagePropView from MessageProp Entity.
3> In MessageView I have modified the query which you have given.
4> I have created the Bind variables.
5> I have created a view criteria and in that view criteria I have included Message_Id=:Bind_MessageId and Value=:Bind_Value.
6> I have created an association connecting Message.Message_Id and Message.Parent_Id(1 to * cardinality) because a message can be a parent of many messages.
7> I have created a viewlink between Message and MessageProp using Message_Id.
8> I have created a view link between Message and Message using the association which I have created in step 6.
9> I have created the Application Module. In that,my Data Model looks like

---------MessageView2
10> Then I have created the service interface. In service interface view instances,I include these two view and select the GetByKey operation from basic operations.
11> From View Criteria find operations I have included the view criteria which I have created in message view in step 5.
12> Then I run the AppModuleServiceImpl.java and select the view criteria operation which I have created in step 11.
13> There I find two bind variables i.e. Bind_MessageId and Bind_Value. I give the values there.
But it checks whether that message Id(Bind_MessageId) which I have given have that value(Bind_Value) or not. If it has then it shows only that message along with its properties but it is not showing me its childs and their properties.
I want to show only those child message who have the MessageProp.value as (Bind_Value).
I hope you understand with the scenario.

Retrieve data from other context node within the same context

Hi Experts,
I want to redefine method BUILD_TABLE for a table context node and I need to access data from another context node within the same context. I have looked through the methods of class CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TV but could not find a mean of retrieving the other context nodes.
Any ideas?

How to read the attribute in another context node from setter method

As part of the requirement
i need to read the STRUCT.E_MAIL ( attribute ) present in INDEPENDANTEMAIL context node from the SET_S_SRUCT method of the context node HEADER.
I tried th following but it didnt work out....
Get the Custom Controller Path

Reading Attributes from different context nodes in the same view

I have added a new field as part of an enhancement for Trade Promotions. This field is a checkbox and part of the context node TRADE in the view TPMOE/HeaderEOF. This field will be checked or unchecked using a logic in the background.
The logic will be based on an attribute (Fund Plan ID) which is part of another context node FUNDPLAN in the same view.
How can I read the attribute of FUNDPLAN context node in TRADE context node?
A sample code will be quite helpful as I am new to CRM 2007.

Hi Abhishek,
If I understand your question correctly, you would like to access the Fund plan ID (in a different context node) in the getter setter methods of the check box attribute which you have added.
The code snippet mentioend by sudeep works perfectly fine when you are making any checks in the view implementation class. But since you are in the getter setter methods of the context class, this doesnot work as "me" always refers to the class instance in which you are present.
Now in this case what you need to do is :
1) create an attribute <view_controller> in your context class. Here the context is TRADE. The type of this attribute wud be same as the view controller class CL_TPMOE_HEADEREOF0_IMPL
2) Go to the view controller class and redefine the method
DO_VIEW_INIT_ON_ACTIVATION. This method is called only once when the view is loaded for the first time.
3) In this method, put the following code
me->typed_context->(Trade)->[view_controller] = me.
by the above code, you are setting the newly created attribute to the view controller instance.
4) The next step would be, go back to your getter setter methods or what ever it may be, try referring to the Fund plan ID by the code snippet mentioned below
data: lr_entity type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity.
lr_entity ?= me->[view_controller]->typed_context->[the context node in which the fund plan id is present]->get_current().
lv_field_value = lr_entity->get_property_as_String( **pass the field name here ).
This should definitely resolve the problem.

i have a context node :-
Car(main node) which consist of details, owners, engine and Brand as its sub node.
the value attibutes of difft nodes are:-
Car- category
Details- Mileage, Price, registration_no, miles_used
owner - name, phnno,addrs
Brand - main_brand, co_brand
Engine- Bhp,Rpm
Now i have to apply a search criteria on the basis of price, miles_used .
pls help to implement that .

Hi PRAVIN,
What I can understand from your problem is that, you have a list with various properties and you want to display them and search them in your WD App. If I am correct, use the following approach:
Instead of using "details, owners, engine and Brand" Nodes, use the attributes inside the parent node. i.e in the node Car, add all the attributes viz. Mileage, Price, registration_no, miles_used, name, phnno,addr etc.
Now you can create a table of this node "Car" and can easily search on the basis of any criteria.

Try this by following this you can get the custom controller instacne in the view context nodes, for your requirement you can keep the view implementation class instance instead of cuco..
To get the custom controller instance in Context node getter/setter method:
1. Declare Cuco instance reference variable in ctxt class..
2. Set this cuco ref. in the Create context node method of ctxt class:

gr_cucoadminh ?= owner->get_custom_controller( 'ICCMP_BTSHEAD/cucoadminh' ). "#EC NOTEXT
catch cx_root.
endtry.
you can avoid this step as this is not needed in case of view isntance
3. Assign this instance to the respective context node Create method using:
BTStatusH->gr_cuco ?= gr_cucoadminh. " here assign the view implementation ref. " me" instead of gr_cucoadminh
Here gr_cuco is the ref. variable of custom controller in the respective context node for eg. BtstatusH
Sample implementation of this can be found in
ICCMP_BTSHEAD/BTSHeader ->context node BTACTIVITYH-> attr ->GR_CUCO(instance of cuco)

Importing a class from another context?

Hi JSP techies,
Im using RESIN and having a simple problem of figuring out how to import classes from another context, if Im using the right word.
ie.
My .jsp files are under $home/resin/doc/test dir. And in the jsp file, I would like to import a servlet class or a plain java class. But the servlet classes and all other classes are located under $home/resin/webapps/project/WEB-INF/classes/a/b/c
Hence when I say
<% page import="a.b.c.*" %>
I get an error saying "a" not found.
1. When I say "servlet classes are in a different CONTEXT", is that right? or is it just another directory?
2. How can I make the jsp file import the classes from the servlets class path?
Note: Ofcourse, when I copy the package to the
$home/resin/doc/WEB-INF/classes dir, everything works fine. But thats simply not an efficient way to get around. Could anyone clear my doubts on this regd.?

Oh... I get it now. I'm sorry, I had you poorly misunderstood. You are trying to import servlets from another web app or servlet context. I would suggest you put servlets that are common to all web apps in the system classpath and not tie them to any particular web app. In other words create a package directory structure from the system's root directory or any where outside of any web apps and point the system classpath to the beginning of that directory structure. I have a similar thing going with Tomcat. I have a folder in my root called Java_Class which is in my classpath. I build all common utilities in this directory. So I have a com/craig/web structure that holds my AppServlet which is in package com.craig.web. This servlet is visible to all web apps via the Windows classpath. Servlets particular to an application like say an MusicOrderProcess servlet would reside in a package under the webserverhome/webapps/MusicStore/WEB-INF/classes directory where webserver home is the home directory of the webserver you are using. I've tested this across webservers as well (orionserver and Tomcat) and it works.
From the prompt you include in your posts I am guessing that you are running on UNIX. Move your common servlets out of their respective web apps and into a common directory structure. Configure the UNIX $CLASSPATH (or is it $classpath?) environment variable to point to this sturcture and you'll be on your way!

Value not available in the context node

I have created one custom component through BSP_WD_CMPWB with only one view called u2018partneru2019 with sample button.
In this view partner ,then created one model context node with reference to u2018 BuilHeaderSearchu2019 search component with only one attribute u201CPartner IDu201D.
When I test the component , WebUI screen shows partner id input box, and sample button. After entering partner id value in the input box, then I am pressing sample button. But entered value not available in the context node. Please help me, how can i get this value?

That only appears to work within the same context, i.e., if I have two contexts:
webapps/context1
webapps/context2
and the original facelet is in context1, I cannot ui:include a facelet from context2. Doesn't work.

Cannot read attribute of another context node in a context node

Hello Sap gurus,
such a long time that I do not post any issue. Now unfortunately time has come down.
My functional requirement is that whenever the status of an opportunity is changed from "Won" to "Booked", then I have to retrieve the Status reason previously marked for the status "Won" and paste into the attribute Status_Reason (CON_KEY) for status "Won".
In order to do that I need to read the context node BTADMINH or ZBTCUSTOMERH from the context node BTSUBJECT, in the method GET of attribute CON_KEY.
I have implemented the following code in the method GET_CONC_KEY of the context node BTSUBJECT.
